Not sure what happened but I have a few files that all have this problem - the clippng paths have all become smaller than the object - so they are out of scale - out of alignment.  There is a layer mask that's OK (red) - which I might be able to make a selection from and turn into a path - but I'd like to recover the original path and pen information.   Is there some kind of "snap to" to make the path resize and line back up?  I could do it by eye but it might not be perfect.... ... Error - Could not open “myfile.psd” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.   Up until today I've been able to open files going both ways out of Lightroom - but now the party is over I guess.  Maybe a PS2024 update pushed through to cause this?   I need to run 2020 due to a legacy plug-in I use regularly - as well as some actions and other things that haven't been transferred over to 2024.  (Every time a new version comes out all my cusomtizations are left behind - but that's another story)   So what's the solution here - save as TIFF?  (bloat) I'll frequently start out with something like generative expand or some other modern tool  in 2024 - save and then open in 2020 for all my retouching work... well - not any more - until I get this fixed. Any other ideas?  Save as - an earlier (or universal) version doesn't seem to exist.   EDIT - Temporary fix that worked is - save as TIFF to desktop - that TIFF will open in 2020 - then Save as PSD over the 2024 version file location (using 2020) - then trash the TIFF file.  This at least lets me get back to work! ... I'm working on some product images where there is a slight warps in the product but it should be straight clean lines. Ideally if I could make a crisp straight line/box out of a freeze mask then I could move things over to line up. (Like horizontal or vertical painting/brush tool while holding SHIFT) Or - a polygonal lasso tool - straight line shape that can Freeze mask! The attached photo will help illustrate this.  I want to match a background as accurately as possible and use it on someone else  - take an existing photo and remove the person and fill in the background (which is a vignette/solid color with some texture - then drop it in a layer on the other portrait.  Generative fill goes nuts with this - and inserts some goofy clown people in the empty space.  haha    Sure I could try content aware fill (not so good at first but ~20x times in smaller areas works OK) - or sample a color and fill in ONE color (maybe clone the texture and paint a curves vignette) - but that wouldn't be acurate to reproduce the BG and use it with a different person.  I could painstakingly sample/paint/clone and brush in to blend and fill - but that's a pretty tough job. The following error (in brackets below) has happened.   My LR file loads but the error comes up when I try to copy setting from one image and then hit "paste" to another. - then it crashes.   It's probably caused because I had removed the original LR folder and copied to external - as well as moving all the source RAW files to external - all due to a system wide backup - headed for a clean install after a migration to a new Mac Studio M2 (worked but a bit buggy)  Sonoma 13.1.2 - LR Classic 13.1   I moved everything back in place on the internal SSD and tried again (using the copies) but it didn't seem to help. Error message - "Due to a problem initializing CC Libraries, existing links to library graphics will appear broken and new link creation may fail."     I've seen replies to this in various threads (mostly very old ones) and was wondering if there's an up to date answer/solution for 2024?   PS 2020 21.2.9 - strangely it was working fine and just started doing this out of the blue. I have been sucessfully bouncing ("Edit In)  PSD files from Lightroom Classic 13.1  to  edit in PS 2020 - up until this point.  Now not sure what to do! I haven't started up and deleted preferences yes (a bit concerned I might lose my actions - although I do have them saved in external HDD backups)   Some say this thread has the answer - but again - 2020 date makes this an old instruction.  the files and directories aren't quite the same. I have files called - IPCBroker - but not on this computer (only on external backups)   FWIW I'm working on a migrated copy of a system from a last gen iMac - now on Mac Studio M2. I'm having trouble conneccting an image from LR into Photoshop using Edit In/external Editing. The feature launches PS as expected - but the image never loads into PS - its just a blank, open PS. I restarted but no help.   (This was working before - I've just updated PS 2024 to v25.2 - Camera RAW and LRC are all Up to date.)   UPDATES - so I've been playing with it.  I maintain a copy of PS2020 for a legacy plug in I use - when I Open In and go to that - it works!  In the process of failing to Open In PS2024 - I noticed the pop up dialog was missing (the one that says edit original, or wth LR edits) - so there's something going on there.   For now, I'll just Open in - PS2020.  Once the PS file is generated and appears in LR alongside the RAW, it WILL Open in - PS2024.  So that's a good work around until this gets sorted. ... I've been getting an ever increasing amount of corrupt catalogs many which can't be repaired.  Sometimes just a day after creating an entirely new one (which I do frequently as every client job I start, gets an entirely new catalog to keep their info/data separate, consolidated, and independent in dedicated client/job folders)   It's gotten to the point where I have backups set to every time LR exits because I now KNOW there's a high probablity of a corrupt catalog encounter on reopening. (side question - is there a way to turn on "backup set to every time LR exits" for all catalogs past and future without having to set it up over and over each time I create new catalogs?) I need to figure out why all my catalogs are getting corrupt.  I'm booting an iMac from external SSD where the program resides (root/application folder) - and saving everything LR related on external HDDs (synced/redundant) in each individual client folder - while the RAW files go on the boot SSD (for speed/access).  The combination of using different drives for .lrcat and RAW might be a suspect cause?   It's not caused by bad HDDs as no other program or saved data on these drives has issues.  Drive health checks show no fragmentation or issues.   When the corrupt catalog issue shows up now at least I can unzip the backup and have a working catalog again - this works out well - but I have to do it nearly all the time.  Any ideas? EDIT - I figured it out by testing on one at first, then a few before doing the batch.  "specificied date and time" does the trick at least on the output files.  Editing the original RAW is another matter.   ******************************   Need some verification - I have a large set of Sony ARW files that were inadvertantly shot with the wrong YEAR (new camera and I thought it had been set!).   I need to either change all of the original ARW file's EXIF - or simply change them in LR using this.   I only want to change the year of the batch - not time. Do I use - Adjust to a specificied date and time (and just edit the year)?   I just don't want to start tinkering until I'm sure it's the right thing I'm doing...   ... View more
