After Effects

Hi Community. I have a short 48 frame animation, (using 24 frames setup) using random transparent keyframes to make a flasing effect using Redgiants Collision form. When I playback the animation I can see the flasginf effect. But when I scroll through the timelime, or use the arrows to go through each frame, the canvas is empty, only the first 3 frames are visible. And to make matters more complicated, when I export the PNG sequence, from the 48 frames, only the first 2 have the graphics with the flashing effect.    How ever, If I turn off the Collision form, and there is no FX, and just a circle, everything gets exported correctly. So Why does Collision form cause this issue?  Thank you.  

hello everyone! so recently my after effects effects and presets tab started glitching, basically everytime i try to search an effect with the word ''s'' or ''r'' the effects tab goes black and then i can't click on anything or drag any effects nor can i scrolll down . I have to completely close and reopen AE to make it functional again. Has anyone else been experiencing this? And is there a way to fix it? PS. I have tried almost everything, i even deleted everything off my computer and redownloaded them all nothings working, and i'm currently using AE 2024 !  

I have 200+ layers, and my rendering is very slow. I want to speed up my render. How can I trim a layer for faster rendering? The layer is currently present from start to end, but I want it to be visible only during a specific time based on the animation. When a text or shape appears on the screen and then moves out, I want the layer to be trimmed accordingly. Thanks in advance for your help! 

I had been installing the Voukoder Plug-in on a friends recommendation but when I did it had crash with this message, now a couple weeks later it now says this: I have tried everything recommended here (reinstalling, reinstating subscriptions, etc) but it physically won't let me access After Effects.  

When I tried to work in latest AE (beta) on relatively large and complex project, it starts at some time do strange things.. I had imported 8 pngs with the same part of name, just different number, and from one point it every second one was replaced by duplicates of the first with no user activity. I had still 9 pics, but four of them was duplicated.On the attached picture is list originally imported pictures, everything worked for few hours, but from some time it was changed by after effects by files with those names174207076174207076174207084174207084174207086174207087174207087174207088174207088original pictures in source folder are still the same.. It was just replaced somehow in project after first render, which was correct. Then I made second render and I got duplicated pictures instead originals..It was second time I experienced this misshandle of files with similar names. I can try to send you project version before and after this change..  

Hello,I am trying to make a Video that has so charts and animations and I just can't work with this very slow speed i'm getting when I try to preview what I made! I tried every single thing I found online like Adaptive Resolution or skipping frames from the "Preview" Panel but it is still way too fast. For every time I pre-render 3 sec of my timeline I need to wait like 10 seconds! This is the PC I'm using: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37767368Plus two 2K Monitors.Is there something I can do to enhance the AE experince? Hi, I'm mapping battles and have an issue when I end up having too many vertices in a shape layer. I need to sometimes have multiple vertices moved to the same position. When I do that manually with too many vertices, I end up having them all bunched up imperfectly on top of each other, roughly. Is there any way I can select multiple vertices and have them positioned in the same xy?If you look at the attached image, you will see that I have those 2 clusters of vertices that are fairly horribly imprecisely placed to each others position. Is there a way to do that precisely? Thanks,

I am using After Effects and I would like to have the compositions export to ProRes, but I am not given the choice. Hi There, I try to use aerender.exe on a HP Z2 Mini G5 Workstation Intel Xeon W-1250 6 cores x64 32Gb RAM Nvidia Quadro P620 driver 572.83, Windows 10 Enterpise 10.0.19045 Build 19045 with no success. After Effects, Media Encoder installed, both work fine. I try to render a comp with aerender.exe with terminal command and bat file (I tried both) and it stuck at "PROGRESS: Launching After Effects..." stage. Even if I write dummy text as paramater does the same "aerender blabla blabla" doesn't give error message. This machine just has been built and has fresh install. Same command, same project file works fine on another machine HP Z2 G4 4 cores P600 32Gb RAM, or everywhere else where I tried. Any help would much appricated.

Hi all,I’m a 3D artist rendering a scene from Blender as a multilayer EXR sequence (including passes like diffuse, gloss, etc.) and bringing everything into After Effects for compositing. However, I’m running into an issue where motion blur—both native and CC Force Motion Blur—doesn’t seem to work either on the EXR precomp itself or on the individual passes within the multilayer EXR precomp. Interestingly, motion blur works fine with a PNG sequence, whether it’s applied to the layer itself or the precomp.Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any ideas on what might be causing this or how I can fix it?Thanks in advance!

every time i press space to preview the preview instead of playing all of my footage it only plays one frame ahead and then freezes

Hi,So I recently installed optical flares all correctly on my imac pro and for some reasonwhen I go to edit the flare, all the previews are greyed out so I'm pretty much unable to choose a flare or edit my own.  Any ideas?

Hi, I am in great danger, I need some help. I need to cut this stroke where I dnt want it. but after watching several tutorials (mask and shape path- rotobezier on/off) am seeing birds and  stars around my head, no one can show me what I wanted. Is there any way I can cut/split/get rid of unnecessary anchor point like I do in AI.  Why am getting a rubberband like shape if I apply delete vertex tool?  Is there any way? :'( Please help me. :'(  

I've been having problems with After Effects on my Mac Studio for a couple of weeks now, the program often crashes with different messages, it won't let me open some projects I made a few months ago, I tried to update the operating system to Sequoia and also reinstall After Effects (last version but previous version too) but the result doesn't change... I'm attaching some screenshots with the details of the various crashes.I've to work... how can I do?Thanks in advance

  I'm making a motion graphics video and I imported a 3D model in .glb format into After Effects. However, I noticed that it came with its own type of lighting, making the 3D product packaging appear to be a different color, it changed from black to gray, as if it was overexposed. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I've tried using 3D lighting, but it didn't change much.

I am wanting to add a drop shadow to some text that has 3D Camera Tracker applied to it. I originally was creating another layer with the text then distorting and adding gaussian blur to give shadow effect however I can't apply the 3d camera tracker effect because it doesn't pick up the angle that I want the shadow to sit on resulting in the shadow moving though the scene when the camera zooms in on the shot.I know that you can add a drop shadow to the text itself as an effect however it doesn't look like you can distort the angle of the drop shadow to look like its laying flat on the ground. See video below:https://youtu.be/S0VLXeiCZyQ 

I am strugging to import my KML files from Google Earth pro into After Effects. I am unsure if the error message is from the KML import script or with the KML script itself. Or something else completley.  Every KML I produce I recieve the same error message.  The same script file is working fine on other team members computers. My preview periodically stops to work. RAM preview is fully loaded, green, but when I hit the spacebar, it does not play back the composition. This happens randomly and with any project. I had the Adobe Team look over it, they do not know what it is. When I try to reset the audio output (which some of you here in the forums suggested), After Effects crashes. The only thing that helps is restarting the program. Since I am having this issue now every 3 minutes, this is not a workaround anymore. Anyone else having this annoying problem? What kind of bug is this? I cannot work anymore.  i9 processor, 24 cores2 TB SSD128 GB RAMNVIDIA 4090

I use After Effects and it continue to crash every time I launch it.But it works perfectly when I change my user to Administrator (Root user). I need to somehow provide some permissions inside my user session but I can't do it manually.How can I fix it?

Ever since I updated to After Effects 24.4.1, my keyboard shortcuts keep getting reset to the default whenever I quit the program. I migrated my settings when I ran the update and placed my .kys files in the 24.4 folder in the aeks folder on my Mac. I'm making a short video that zooms in on a large .png poster (the bottom layer). To zoom into it, I put a Camera in a layer and then a Null object to control the camera zooming in and down. When the scene settles on the bar graph, I overlapped a vector layer (Line graph) that is a visual copy of the graph on the png.  I then applied a trim path to vector so that a red stroke builds from left to right while the camera pans across the graph. I want to get the blue dot (Shape layer 1) that I placed at the begining of the graph to anchor itself to the trim path to draw the eye to the path. I cannot seem to make this happen, even though I have pick whipped/linked the blue circle to every layer in a bid to make it follow the trim path. Can someone give me some guidance please? Screen video attached.
