After Effects

Hi!  I'm wondering if After Effects can read and export different types of 3D-textures on a GLTF-model for example? From what I hear some things like procedural textures need to be baked, and vertex colors might work, and triplanar mapping won't work at all? Just wondering if someone has more knowledge than me with this and knows more for certain what type of textures work vs won't work?  Thank you in advance. 

Hi. Fairly new to After effects, but I can't seem to change the color of a stroke. I've created a fairly simple handwriting effect which reveals the text, but it appears to be stuck on white. When I change the color of the stoke in effects to blue, nothing changes. I've tried applying key frames to change the color but that doesn't work either.  I assume some other setting is conflicting this with but as I'm fairly new I'm unsure what this is. Thanks

I'm working on a couple of new scripts. I tried installing the script using the File/Scripts/Install Script File menu. I meant to use File/Scripts/Install Script UI panel. After running the install I got a nice message that my Preferences were updated and the new script now shows up in the File/Scripts menu, but I didn't want it there so I went to the application folder After Effects 2020/Scripts folder, it isn't there. I tried a search and found my original file, moved it, then deleted it completely and it still shows up in the File/Scripts menu. I searched the Library, reset my preferences, searched the entire hard drive, and I can't find the JSX file anywhere.    Who knows where this file was installed? I can't find anything in the documentation and there is no option to uninstall script files.    My little experiment failed and now I have a useless script in the menu that is not supposed to be anywhere on the system.    If anyone has any ideas please l

Hi All,I've been getting this error pictured below for some of the comps in my After Effects projects when I export to ME.  There's no clear logic other than some comps export to ME no problem while others pop these 2 error messages up.  Thanks for your insights Details:Running latest version of AE 18.4.1 and ME 15.4.1Files locally stored with no missing asstesUsing Dropbox localAutosave set to "next to project" save every 18 minutes (have tried running project off desktop and leaving asstes on D:drive)Sometimes multiple attempts allows export to MEDeleted all temp AEP files in Autosave 

Hi Community. I have imported a PNG sequence of a logo spinning around 360, currnetly its just orbiting on its axis, and  I want to add some interest to it. I'd like for the object to start of slow, and gradually build up speed, going faster and faster. Can somoene please let me know a simple approach? Thank you.

I hope someone may provide a solution.When using the E3D plugin my model textures visually appear correct and with correct difuse colour.But when I press the OK button and it drops into AE the difuse texture is washed out & to light.This occuring on both plain elements with for expmple a brick / wood floor texture applied and with standard E3D standard model pack.It maybe a setting I missing?Any assistance would be most appreciated.

In this composition there are 12 rings one over other with a rotation of 30 degrees. With the positional change only it create a visible rotation. How can it be explained? Video and file also uploaded.https://easyupload.io/e3rdwg  

Hello,I have tried everything to get rid of the Error code: cached preview needs 2 or more frames to play back and nothing works. I have cleared out all of the cache on my mac, uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects and the Creative Cloud twice, and watched every youtube video on it. Holding down Command+Option+Shift while its starting up doesn't show me anything about it reseting my preferences. I have the 2020 version of After Effects and am working on macOS 10.15.7 with 8GB and plenty of storage. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help me?Thanks

I was trying to edit my video on After Effects but my video won't show up in the space where I should be able to see the video's visuals. I circled the area in red in the picture below. I can hear the voices and the music fine, but I just can't see the video. Does anyone know how to fix this?   Title edited by Mod.

Muitas vezes uso o Dynamic Link levando clipes pro After e a leitura de cor do After effects é diferente, gerando cores absurdas. Mas não há nenhuma opção para sincronizar automaticamente tais cores, nem mesmo uma caixa de opção intuitiva sobre o assunto. Temos que entender que muitos criadores não sabem termos técnicos, eles sabem mais de criação na prática e precisam de praticidade no dia a dia, tais problemas têm dificultado o aproveitamento de 100% da ferramenta dynamic link.  

Hello, I'm using the plugin "FL DepthOfField".In 1 specific comp, when I add it, the scene crashes (it's in like 20 other comps working fine).I've tried resetting preference, updating AE, updating the plugin, deleting the comp and rebuilding it.All of this, and it still crashes.Any ideas why?

Ive come across this problem where everytime I open the audio waveform for a layer it will cause my entire composition to become slow and choppy no matter what im trying to do (opening more will cause the problem to increase). No matter how much or little is in my composition it'll cause my movements to be slow and choppy. Ive tried using different audios and compositions but the same thing happens. would appreciate any help! Giving AE 25.2 a test drive and experienced two blue screen hard crashes within two hours when scrubbing timeline or scaling a layer.  I'm on Windows 10. I'm using an AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor with m.2 drives in a RAID 0 config, this is my 'cache' drive and I believe the source of the instability.  When changing my cache location a standard SSD drive the bluescreen errors stopped and was able to work for hours without issue.

after update received from Adobe and after effects suddenly updated 25v to 25.1 v - After effects view port or timeline working very so slow. for example to when I trying to move timeline cursor left to right or viceversa its taking time to move and also stuck in between.

I'm suffering constant crashes within After Effects, around 20+ a day and I'm desperate to get this sorted as I'm in the middle of a large work project.  Any suggestions would be really helpful.   Crashes usually occur when RAM Previewing or rendering, sometimes when dragging layers in the compsition window, or dragging layers in the timeline. I have tracked my footage and placed my 3d model on the track solid, added an environment light with an HDRI because EXR file is not working, when i click at track solid's "on" at accept shadows i get the shadow of the object but when i hide the track solid, the track solid goes invisible along woth the shadow so i am unable to get the shadow only while hiding th track solid, i am using 2025 version of after effects and 3d advanced renderer, the accpet lights option is missing here for me. please help

Working in a project and the select tool (v) is stuck as a rectangle shape tool. No matter which layer I click on, it just starts making a rectangle. CTRL Z doesn't even undo it. It's also doing it in every comp in the project, even one's without any shapes or masks. I can't click anything and am only able to move by using the arrow keys or dragging position. Please help ^->
