Hello, when I enter After Effects 2024, even though I haven't imported a file, I get an invalid image file error.And my system profile is completely ok and I cleared my caches

Since we already know that cache discs are important and that we have to keep it on a diferent partition from the instalation/workspace i brought the question: are simply logical partitions (same ssd different partition) enought to work on the best performance possible? or bringing different ssds for each propurse results in the same outcome? logically when we're working on different ssds each one have full read/write available for each task while in a logical setup both virtual discs, lets say d: and e:, share the read/write values due a hardware limitation. To brink this discussion to a better level lets say we have  the following setup options: SETUP1  --> 1 ssd 1tb 6000mb read and writeSETUP2 --> 4 ssds 250gb 6000mb read and write  Both are splitted equally on space to System / Adobe Programs / WorkFiles / Cache

Hello, I have been having this problem with after effects it will not let me do anything. First, it will make both my computer screens go black then turn on and the after-effects screen looks like this.Sometimes it will do this right when it starts up or it will open then as soon as I click anything it will do it. after it will not let me do anything. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled and restarting my computer but nothing seems to help. any advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello! Goodnight. I'm trying to render in After Effects 2023 with the Lagarith LossLess 1.3.27 codec, and it shows this error. But when saving, I point to the average and render over it, the rendering works.  

I can't find a way to get SVG images into my composition. EPS is just drag and drop but SVG... I can't through any route.I must be missing something.

Hey there, i am using the expression  x = thisComp.layer("Audio").effect("Both Channels")(1);linear(x, 20,40, 0, 5) the error i get is: "Error: effect named ´Both Channels´ is missing or does not exist. It may have been renamed, moved, deleted or the name may have been mistyped" any ideas what the problem could be? What could be the replacement?

Thinking this may be a long shot but hoping someone can help. I'm trying to reproduce an effect similar to the one in this video but not as complicated. I will only have 8 bars and none will have "counters" attached to them. My plan is to manually keyframe the X position of the bars (because I'd like a certain amount of control with how these look). I would like to have an expression that shifts the ranking so any bar with a higher X value than any other bar shifts up on the Y axis.I was able to do this but the bars were simply switching Y position rather than tweening from one Y position to another. The Y positions for each bar are yPos = [420, 507, 594, 681, 770, 857, 944, 1031].Thank you in advance for any help or insight you can provide

1.First I go to 3D Track in Video.2.Then I add Solid in 3D.3. I copy and past layer 3D.4. I add Stroke in 1 Layer 3D.5. Then happen like  striped, marking , scratch marks , a lot of little pixel .6. All of that annoy me and when I move it I want to make a 2 Line in 1 Layer solid but the Line is scratch marks.7. So I go to do a loop with add Solid in 3D everytime and when I render It take so long Time.8. In 1 minute video I add 3D Solid about 40 Layer the Time render Export is 2 Hour .*** at the first when i use After Effect like 5 mount ago I can Copy and paste Layer of solid and doesn't have scratch marks and I use only 1 solid 3D layer and copy paste is very easy and the render Export of time is shorter than this time .  #Adobe #scratchmarksinAEI have no Idea what to do next I hop people come to see my Topic Thankyou.  

I defined a basic wiggle code [wiggle (4,8)]  on the position of a 3d object (xyz). How do I determine that the y-axis will not pass a certain value that I set for it? thanks

i saw a plugin that would dynamically name a pre-comp, but couldn't handle more than one layer at a time. i need to group individual animated characters, which are on their own individual layer ...so i can have pre-comps of the words. i have way too many to handle and typing the name for each pre-comp would take forever.Can you recommend code or a plugin to do this?i eventually will be trying to use monkey layer or something match the words to markers.

Do you know how to create a function that would iterate through a string, finding the words to make an array. Then have it grab the first word, count how many characters is has, and go into the project and select that many layers and push them to a new start time (a marker if you know how)? ...and then do the same thing for the next word in the original string? 

After the latest update After Effects have become pretty much useless. I haven't been able to work with the program since monday. It keeps crashing at the startscreen, sometimes it goes through to the homescrren and when freezes, becomes unreachable, and when I have to go to Taskmaster to shut it down.  I don't get a pop up telling me something. I have tried all the usual /Safemode, delete preferences, downgrade, Beta etc. But nothing is working. The one time only, that I was able to do someting in it, the program crashes when I try to save/export the project.  My machine is way over the minimum requirements,  and Trend Micro/Open GL is not the case. This Isn't the first time, Adobe! It is really, really frustrating that there keeps coming updates, that to me, feels like a Betatest. My clients and colleagues can't keep waiting on this. What to do? And why, Adobe, why?

I just downloaded After Effects recently, but none of my plugins are working (MacOS). I saw that many people had this issue, and the solution was to launch using Sonoma or something, but this isn't an option. Please could Adobe fix this and allow for machines operating on Apple Silicon to work with plugins? Considering we pay for the app AND plugins, we should be allowed to use both to the fullest extent - this is unfair to Mac users otherwise.

Hey everyone, I've been trying to recreate this animation for some weeks now, but I'm struggling to get that pixel look and smooth transition from a shape layer to pixelation. I've been using CC Ball Action + Mosaic, and then using a circular mask to transition between flat shape layer, and the other one with the effects.  Its like the Title says, for every new shape layer, new composition or project, the fill color has some Transparency, which shouldn't be. Please, how do I correct this?

Strangely, I can use setText() but the other Text Styling Properties for setFontSize, setLeading and setTracking do nothing in the Nested/Essential Property Comp.  

I enable auto-logging by clicking Help>Enable Logging. That works just fine. However, when I'm finished I click on the same menu item to disable and a popup appears: "You must restart After Effects in order to toggle auto-logging. Click Change and Quit to toggle logging and exit After Effects." I click Change and Quit but when AE restarts it still has logging enabled. Is there an alternative way to turn this off?

When using Dynamic Link to make a new After Effects composition out of my Premiere project, the AE composition is just completely empty. I've made a very simple Premiere sequence out of just mp4 files. This has been happening before too, I am unsure of for how many versions, but researching this issue I was able to find unsolved forum threads all the way from 2019. Using Premiere to cut my footage and doing rest of the effects in AE is crucial for my workflow as managing video clips in AE is much more tedious and inefficient. Please help!

Hello all,I am trying to update projects from AE 2017 that contain .mov files with alpha channels that were created with a now-unsupported MooV codec. I can no longer load or update the compositions in AE CC 2019 version 16.1.2 (or even in AE 2018 version 15) containing these files because I get the attached error messages:How do I resolve this? I am willing to download AE C 2017, but Creative Cloud only lets me manage back to the 2018 version. I also tried to open the .mov file in Quicktime 7, but I am unable to save it successfully. Please help, I am on deadline. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm trying to export a 10-second vfx shot, its cut down as much as I can and has a curves effect, rotoscoping animated masks and a light-wrap plug-in (which I've already tested and can say is definetly not the cause of the issue). Its taken over 16 hours to export less than half way in Media Encoder on the standard 4k 25fps preset. Screenshots of my workflow are attached with all modified properties shown. I have a baseplate, then the effects are all in the 'Turtle Re-Aligned' pre-comp. Then, once inside Turtle Re-Aligned, all the actual layers and effects are within the REVERSE COMP 1 pre-comp because the light-wrap plug-in I'm using requires the layer receiving the plug-in and the footage its getting the light-wrap information from to be in separate comps. Inside the REVERSE COMP 1 there is just rotoscoped footage which is has its position animated. The Turtle Baseplate pre-comp inside the Turtle Re-Aligned comp just contains the same baseplate as the first screensh
