After Effects

I've recenly upgraded from After Effects 2022 to 2023 and when I apply an animation preset to text using Bridge an error appears: After Effects error: Can't import file "Typewriter.ffx": unsported filetype or extention (0::1) The preset does however work if applied through After Effects via: Animation - Apply Animation preset - Text effect Does anyone know how to fix this error when appling an effect through Bridge?

Does anyone know how to make this (attached)? I’m able to make the first circle but once it’s keyframed to take up the whole screen I don’t know how to make a second hollow circle that reveals the alpha layer again. The yellow circle in the example above should reveal the alpha channel

I know I am not understanding something basic here, but I haven't found the answer. You see here a simple shape to which I have applied CC light rays. The effect is bound to the bounding box of the shape. How do I get it to go beyond it to the larger frame?  

Hi All,So I've built up a MOGRT library that my team uses on many video  projects. We recently consolidated all our Creative Cloud accounts under an umbrella account and that got me thinking about using the libraries feature to share with everyone in my group.My expectation is that I can create a Library that has all the MOGRTs that I've created and give everyone access to them. Then, whenever I update a MOGRT with new features or requests, I can export that updated MOGRT file to the library and have it automatically update that MOGRT on everyone's machines.The reality I'm seeing is that whenever I export out the updated MOGRT to the Library I created, it creates an entirely new MOGRT file rather than updating the existing file. It doesn't give me an overwrite or save as copy prompt when exported.How I'm going about this: In AfterEffects I open my MOGRT and make a change, then in the Essential Graphics panel, I click the Export Motion Graphics Template button in the bottom right .

After effects only preview my project around 5 frames. I have tried to open the project using after effects version 24.3, 24.1, 23.0 yet it still didn't work. I also have tried to remove some layers which used 3rd party plugin but that didn't solve the problem, even when i imported mp4 file only without any effect on it, it still previewing only around 5 frames. But this problem didn't disrupt the image files in the project. I have tried to set the ram for after effect for 27gb and empty the disk cache but it didn't solve the problem either.When i re-opened the software, it runs normally but only for a while, after around 2-3 times previewing the video, the problem came back My PC specs:- Ryzen 1500x- Ram 32gb- RTX3060

The problem of H264, when the project was completed after 2024 and after the project was exported, there were flaws in the sector and image constantly jamming, please help me who got this problem. This is an example of the problem in export

Hi Everybody, Another timeline feature question...Is there a feature option that turns on a highlight when my cursor rolls over a layer? Like a highlight that highlights the whole layer across the timeline (whether it's locked or not). That way it's easy to tell that the layer I'm about to select is the correct object/element (...that's two feet away on the other side of my screen). Having to square up what's what in on the left with the array of stuff that's in the timeline would be helpful for sure. Thanks for reading. 🙂

We've had an ongoing discussion about how slow the newer versions of AE are. It's unconscionable. I can't believe Adobe hasn't fixed this yet. So upon my latest start up I timed if from when I clicked on the program in the Windows 10 start menu to when the Home screen finally popped up in AE: 58 seconds. My entire computer boots A LOT faster than that. What is the issue? Does Adobe need to hire new programmers?

Hi Everybody, Is there a function or option of some sorts in After Effects where the timeline focus will jump to whatever object you click on in the stage. Like, for example, I click on the title text on the stage and the timeline then moves to make that the layer in focus or to be visible. Is there something like that available? I've got a project 40+ layers high with versions/stages and it'd be great not to have to constantly scan back through my timeline looking for the highlighted layer.  Thanks for reading. 🙂

This is an example image of my problem. I made this flower shape in After Effects and it should be strokeless. It still has this faint black outline though. I saw a couple threads about this but those were only for if you created the shape outside After Effects. How do I get rid of this little black line? Thank you!

Hi all,I'm searching for an expression I can use so I don't go insane. See the attached image. I want each number to scale from 100% to 150% as the red line approaches. So if the red line is 200 or more pixels away from the number's anchor, the scale is 100%. If it's right on top, it's 150%.Thank you.  -  Geoff

Hi there,I've noticed relatively recently (maybe within the last month) that I've been having an issue with Helvetica/Helvetica Neue fonts.  I used to be able to install other variations of Helvetica in addition to the system fonts and they'd all appear in After Effects.  But now I have one machine missing a simple Bold version that I can't seem to install in one of my font managers (so I have to use the next best thing, Arial Bold).  Then on another machine, I've activated additional fonts, but they're not showing up.  I'm working on something that requires Helvetica 85 Heavy and 95 Black, but neither of those are appearing in After Effects.  They DO appear as Helvetica Neue (T1) in InDesign, Helvetica Neue (just as a duplicate version, no T1 or anything) in Illustrator and Photoshop.What can I do to resolve the issue in After Effects?

Looks nice in After Effects.Open the layer in Mocha and the whites are clipped so I cannot get decent details for tracking. How to get a working colour conversion in Mocha.This started to bug me so much that I decided to post here. Left AE screen capture with colour settings. On the right side is the same layer in Mocha AE. All log information is lost.  Help, please.  

Hi. I was closing some of my composition windows and I accidentally closed one called "Comp 1" aka the base (?) composition of the project. So now I can't view my whole project I've spent hours on and urgently need. I've tried looking around and 'fixes' such as resetting the workspace and trying to open a comp from the window tap doesn't work. I can't find anything on my project panel either. Please help. Thanks.The panel should be sat next to Render Queue.

(EN) I installed FX-Console, Animation Composer, and Motion Factory, but they don't appear in the program.

I am trying to make the displacement map affect the whole pink masked area, but for some reason it is affecting only the top area. How can fix this?

Hi, In the tutorial I follow when the cursor hover the curve itself, the information Linear Y position - -552.px/sec appears. If I do this in my own file the aforementioned info does not appear.  Why is that? Thank you.

I am unable to backup my company file, whenever I start the process, I received the message choose the correct path.

Hi There,In my script, a JSON object is written to a file that is, itself, imported into AE as footage.  If the structure of the JSON written to the file changes, AE throws a modal warning dialog with the following message:After Effects warning: The structure of the data file for the layer "scores.json" has changedIs there any way to disable that error either via scripting or via AE's preferences?  I tried placing code that writes to the JSON file in between the statements  app.suppressDialogs() and app.endSuppressDialogs() but that did not seem to work.  Is it possible to mute it or possible work-arounds so that if the JSON changes structure that error does NOT display?Thanks!
