After Effects

At work we have a workflow that is as following:- we prerender a comp- place that prerender back in that comp- solo it.We prefer this above replacing the comp with the prerender, since it's much easier to make alterations.Problems arise when you have 100 pre-comps which you render out overnight and you have to do with task over and over again for all the comps. It just takes a lot of time.I was wondering how hard it is to make a script that checks the names of the pre-comps and compares that to the comps. If it's the same, then put the pre-comp in the first layer and solo it. My scripting skills are limited to copy/pasting exsisting scripts and I can read and understand not too complex scripts.

Is anyone having a problem with knoll light factory working in AE?Running the newest version of AE and on Mac with ventura 13.2I have uninstalled and reinstalled AE in different versions, I have used the get info and changed to open on rosetta which made my composition blank or sometimes black. I uninstalled and reinstalled red giant. Nothing seems to work.I also have an issue with using the video co-pilot plugin VR Orb. It makes my composition black and then crashes AE.

Even though I installed the Twixtor pro plugin, it gave me the error "effect missing", I deleted it again and installed it, but it didn't work.

The render in AE stops for a while, and when it continues, it renders a separated file issue with the rendering of the files "SB00001523D0138.MOV" and "SB00001523D0139.MOV" in After Effects "PC 1"We have tried pulling a Render "test2" using another file (with the same format as the Render that has the problem)The "test2" (Different File) Rendered without problems (on PC 1)The "test3" (SB00001523D0138.MOV in a New Precomposition) has the same problem (so it is not a Precomposition problem i guess)(in PC 1)When launching the Render in other PCs , no problem occurs. (then the problem is not in the file i guess)

Hi I need my effects to have a unique ID. So I have created an AEGP and a custom suite. The custom suite have a function which returns an unique effect ID.In the very end of the ParamSetup function I want to do this: Call GetUniqueEffectID functionUse AEGP_GetNewEffectForEffect to get effectUse AEGP_GetNewEffectStreamByIndex to get parameter streamUse AEGP_SetStreamValue to set value of a hidden ID parameter to the uniqueID The problem is I don't get far. If I call this line at the end of paramSetup I get a runtime error:ERR(suites.PFInterfaceSuite1()->AEGP_GetNewEffectForEffect(globP->my_id, in_data->effect_ref, &effectRef));What would be the correct way to do this? Is there a better time to set the parameter value? Thanks,Jakob

The default color for an AE precomps is Sandstone, but that only happens when you precomps two or more layers, if you precomp one single layer the label color remains the one that the layer had and it's confusing, because it is a precomp.I don't know when this change happened because it didn't use to be like that, does anyone know how to change it? the label color being Sandstone even though is a single layer precomp (there are sometime when you have to precomp a singñe layer, we all know that). Obviously in my Preferences the Label Defaults is set Sandstone for compositions. Also, wasn't there a default precomps folder feature at some point? Like all the layer being put automatically in a folder. I do that manually, it would be cool.

After Effects (I have the 23.6.6. version) crashed and now it won't reopen. I have two pop ups, which is 'internal structure inconsistency (25::2)' and 'globals unborn (21::3)'. I use a Macbook Pro 13. I'm not very tech savvy and I've only recently started using AE. However, if anyone knows how to fix these I would greatly appreciate it. I know many people have contacted Adobe staff who have been able to go into the software and fix it for them, so I'm hoping I'll be able to recieve that here.   

i am new to aftereffects and i just start my project first i got a clipreverse itand then click to track motion  select track point and then i press right click to make a text layer but, the text layer is not following the track point it move freely just like a normal text layer i tryed to find out solution but, nothing help me but i notice that everyone using this effect have a 3d option for 3d track camera layer at timeline  i attached screen short of that but in my time line i cant have this option   and this is screenshort of my timeline ples help me 

I created a walking cycle animation from shapes. I tried to export it with Lottie but surely its not working as i thought.So i was thinking about getting every frame as vector to files. But i can only do it for PSD files and when i do it there is no option for "Layered PSD file". I can only export layered PSD file for one frame. How can i export layered PSD file for whole animation. The lottie doesnt support the techniques that i used. I spent a lot of time to this so i dont want it to go trash. Please help 😞

I'm trying to do a perspective corner pin (or parallel corner pin) track of a video.If you look at a tutorial video it shows that to do perspective corner pin track you select the layer, go to "track motion" and then in Track Type you select "perspective corner pin". In the demo video it will then shown something like:Track Point 1 ----- Track Point 2Track Point 3 ----- Track Point 4(so basically a square with the 4 corner points ready for positioning).But when I do the above (selecting "Perspective corner pin") the track points get created like below:The initially created points for "perspective corner pin" aren't in a square but are in the above shape. It is also hard to move the points because I assume it's doing some validation. What is wrong and how can I fix it so it always defaults the track points the the correct "square" shape with point 2 to the right of point 1 etc?This is using AECC2017. Hello!I have an image sequence that I’ve imported of a 360 spin cycle – where frame 0 = 0° / frame 360 = 360°. I’ve then added time remapping to this comp so I can change the angle/view of the 360 spin/rotation. Is there an expression that would allow me to have a specific frame of the time remapping comp used based on the direction it’s facing if I pair this to a Trace Path null position?

Hi, After too many failed attempts, asking for help here. I need to convert an AE file frame to Photoshop Layers. I went through all the steps:Composition > Save file as > Photoshop Layers. The process started as it should have, but every time I get to about 20-25% complete, it says Photoshop ran out of memory on my device. It's not possible. I've cleared out way, way more memory than needed to complete this project. Gigs and Gigs of space. Help! I really need the layers information so I can convert the look to print. Thanks!

For exported video properties from after effect i want the metada to be applied. I tried adding metadata from export setting also from render queue but isn't being applied to exported file. Although it is different I also tried from Window-> Metadata Previously it should have been working but Is there something i am doing wrong or missing? or is there some updates that changes export settings? 

I want to move the object in curve. It seems If I drag this 3d layer it creates straite line instead of curve.

Hi, I was working on an adobe after effects project and I was editing the position of an object and suddenly noticed that the controls were inverted. The left input now moved the image up and down and the right one moved it side to side, the number was also inverted, now moving the number up moved the image to the left instead of the right. I don't know if I accidently clicked a button to activate this or what happened but it is extremely annoying to have to seemingly learn all new controls. Any idea what happened or how to fix it is appreciated, thanks.

Hello !I have a probleme with after effects that just came from nowhere, now, when iI try to open any of my projects, the preview of my projects are always slightly faster than realtime (I've calculated around 15-20% faster), so the the sound is in high speech, and it's impossible to have a real preview of my animations.

I was getting this error before as well. Now I have done a clean installation. My drives and BIOS versions are currently up to date. I reinstalled my operating system and it is up to date. Hello. I've been struggling with trying to get my project to keep its frame rate (60) when i try to post it. I render using Handbrake, and ive tried Media encoder. when i play it on my computer, it's fine. When i play it on my phone, it's fine. but when i try posting it (ive tried Youtube and ig) the frame rate drops to like 30. It's super choppy and none of the changes i made to my render settings worked. My 30 fps projects are Totally Fine though. i genuinley don't know at this pointAlso, i render using the frame rate from the project, so that's not part of the problem

I am very inexperienced with After Effects CC (latest version). Keylight may not be the perfect solution but I'm stuck.What I am trying to do is:1. make the film melt right after an explosion happens 2. after this, another clip will start inside the burning hole as the burn fades out3. not use the film burn effect in After Effects4. use a stock video clip has a green screen applied to the hole being created by the burnI figured out how to use Keylight to make the hole in the stock clip of burning film. I can't figure out how to invert it to mask out and apply it to the explosion clip so you I can start the next clip inside the burning hole.Suggestions?

Anyone else having trouble with the layer animators in v24.4.1? The position animator isn't working as it has before. It seems to be animating in an extremely weird way, that's sort of difficult to describe so I'm including a GIF.  The characters seem to be popping back to their original position no matter what. And when on the "Based on: Lines" setting is chosen instead of "characters", the animator doesn't work at all. Bad news for folks who used the animator + masks to animate text on 😞 

Just wondering if something is going on and whether I'm missing something here. My comp caches to ram pretty quickly and 'pre-renders' in AE. However, when I hit render on a sequence from the queue - in this instance a PNG / JPG sequence - it takes ~25minutes to write out 360 frames. The PNGs are about 5Mb each. The footage is FHD. I swear in older versions of AE this would have exported out in minutes due to it being cached already. I can't understand why it's taking so long. Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance!
