Hello,I have a problem and I didn't find any answers anywhere so I hop I could find one here.I wish to create a new composition to prepare a little animation to import it in another composition. Habitually I have no problem when I do that but this time, when I create a new empty composition I find a picture on my screen but there are no layers in the timeline (and I didn't used the shy layer in any composition of this project).This picture appear only when I use the this parameter: 1000px X 1000px and square pixel....While I was writing I have fund another way to do what I want but the ghost still here. For example, whan I have increase the composition size (2000px X 2000px) the picture desapear but if I reduce to the original size the ghost come back. Very strange thing...

Hello, I'm making a lino print style animation and need to do the sea! Here's a rough mockup of what I'm trying to achieve. What I want to do is be able to take a video or Cinema 4D animaiton of an ocean and apply effects to simplfy it. Imagine if the see was printed in 3 colours. The main body of water, hightlights and lowlights. I would then reflect the sun in the highlights.I've played around using levels, posterize, thresholds and blurs. But can't seem to achieve the look in my still. What I get are shapes that are either complicated and wouldn't be achievable in the lino-print style world. Or too rounded edged and no longer feel like water. I really like this animated gif style. Although the edges are too soft. I have this as a source video, and I can add the sun and reflection in after. I just need to achieve the simple sea; Does anyone have an ideas? Or can push me the way of a tutorial?Thanks,Ryan 

I have CC 2018, but it seem After Effects is looking for some animation presets in the 2017 folder. Here is what the error says specifically: After Effects error: File not found: "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2017/Presets/Image - Creative/Bloom - brights.ffx".(3 :: 0) I see this file in the 2018 folder. How can I make it look there?

Hey, I haven't found tutorials for that.I would like to animate multiple caracters and wondering a way to do it easily.It's a run so I would like to have more participants.I've already animate one caracter. For that i drawn it on illustrator then animate it in AE. The second step would be to duplicate this composition and change, for exemple the tshirt color, the leg size.Is there a way to do that easily by reusing the composition without start from zero for each caracter ? Thanks for your help

Whenever I try to load one of my projects and work on it the preview doesn't play. I started working on this project a couple weeks ago before I went on vacation and when I returned the project didn't load the preview whenever I tried to work on it. I've had this exact same issue before except this one I haven't been able to fix. Updating/Reinstalling my drivers, resetting the preferences, clearing my ram cache, clearing data cache, anything you can think of I've probably tried. Its only the one project file that doesn't work. Even after exporting the composition and putting it into a new project the preview still wont load. Also whenever I try and close out of the app after opening the project then my After Effects freezes and stops responding. Once again not an issue with an other projects. If anyone has any ideas or solution please leave your help. I'm going insane trying to figure it out. PC Specs: Intel i7-9700KNVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super32G of Ram(Using Version 24.4.1

This was made in After effects, exported as an mp4, sent to Photoshop to be converted to a gif, problem it is supposed to loop seamlessly without 1 frame flicker that happens at the end before starting the next loop.  The second file (comp-1-seamless.gif) is the result i am looking to achieve, you can see you can't tell the beginning or the end of the loop, but it has a small opacity problem that i can't ignore. Please help!

Dear All, I would like to change the center point by using VR Comp editor. It happens that the center point of video is changed sometimes while I shoot scenery more than 2 mins in public garden and that has several corner.Is it possible to do by using camera tracker and stabilize footage. If so, Please kindly advise me how to do it? I cannot find the information in the Adobe Help page in detail. Best regards,

Hi everyone, I'm having a funky issue where I opened up a rather old project and after After Effects opens the project to update it and make it current I can't save it nor can I see many of the compositions at all when I scrub on the timeline. When I try to save the file as a new file name I get the following message - Attempt to get a value from a time stream with no key values ( 29 :: 36 ) Any suggestions? I'm trying to get this file to work to update an older project.Thanks!

Dear Adobe, I took a 360 video in a hotel garden by my 360 camera put it on a hand-held tripod. There is several corners and slope in the hotel garden. When I confirmed the video at home, The center point of angle/view was different from expected center point several times. It happens that my arm or my wrist was moving twist a little regardless of my concentration and relax when I take a 360 video by walking. There sometimes happen that it's not center point or not the shooting direction a little. Camera model : Insta 360 X3 with latest firmware Could you tell me how to change wrong center point of the 360 video to the right center point by After Effects or Premiere Pro? I prefer to use After Effects now. Best regards,

My speed graph is negative for some reason, but the keys are fine. The first key speed is 150 the second is 0. How can I fix this?

I don't have a weak computer by any means. to be specific I have 32 gigs of ram, a 3070ti, and a ryzen 5 3600. So at the very least it should be able to handle some basic editing. But whenver I'm in aftereffects and I try to edit, not even an audio clip will play properly. Let alone footage. By properly what I mean is lets say I bring in footage, it will go unsynced for a few seconds then the audio will slow down to "catch up" to the footage in a way. Even if I just bring in an audio file it slows down to load its so weird.

Hello, I am trying to do a simple text scroll around a shape. In all of the tutorials I have watched I am told that in order to fill the shape with text I can just select the text then copy and paste it until I am satisfied with the amount of text. I am running into a problem and haven't seen any problems posted / solutions about it. Every time I select the text and copy/paste it, it eventually hits a wall, like it is the end of the text box.  Not sure what the issue is as it seems like all of the videos I've seen have had no issue copy/pasting.  Attaching photos of my project. Hi,At the moment, Media encoder can only export by bits, which I then have to piece together in Premier. Not ideal but at least it will not crash or tell me its out of memory. A lot of my exports have failed due to lack of memory I have about 25GB of Ram reserved for Adobe, which is not great but  I am assuming not bad either so why am I having this problem? I found that emptying disk cache in After effects while exporting with Media encoder may help a bit, or is it a waste of time? I don't have an extra SSD car on this laptop, would using an external hard drive to add my disk cash work better? (was advised to separate the project and the cache files in separte drives). I just find it frustrating that I can't export my projects properly and having to split them up! Any advise welcome! Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to use Sure Target for 3D and it works completely normally, however every time I add it to a null layer it automatically changes to this orientation, and I can try and change it back manually but I can never get it back completely straight. I gave my friend the project file and it didn't change to this orientation at all, making me think it might be an issue with one of my settings or something, however have no idea which setting would effect it.

Hi, I'm having trouble changing the colour of a light layer in a logo reveal template.When I change the  colour from red to green it keeps defaulting to red.I think it is to do with the expression which is comp("Main").layer("ColorControl").effect("Light")("Color").I've tried various commands such as comp("Main").layer("ColorControl").effect("Light")("Color")("fillColor#7B8E31")  and "ColorControl#7B8E31")  but keep getting error warnings.Could someone help? Whenever I apply a mask to something I want to be cut out and replaced with a content fill layer, I always get a highlighted version of the mask with the fill layer. I done the same content aware fill a couple days ago and I had no problem, it worked perfectly. To explain more what I'm talking about, please look at the pictures below. Also when I hover my mouse over the mask, in the info tab it says my mouse is over the color white, and it is not, it is black. Sometimes the mask is not even black too, it's sometimes like a dark red. I'm not sure if this has anything to factor in but it is just something I have noticed.  Also I have tried different lighting conditions for the CAF, changing the settings around, etc. Please help this issue as I have found nothing online for it.

Hello, I have a question to consult, that is, I use AEGP Panelator this sample template to write a plug-in, I wrote a custom function called GetSelectedLayerNames(). This function is used to get the name of the selected layer. Because this function is used to AEGP_GetNewCollectionFromCompSelection the function, the function inside the first parameter is the ID of the plug-in. So I put the implementation of GetSelectedLayerNames() in Panelator.cpp. Then I created a custom button in PanelatorUI_Plat.cpp that, when pressed, executes GetSelectedLayerNames() in Panelator.cpp. I don't know if my above idea is correct, so I want to instantiate the Panelator object in PanelatorUI_Plat.cpp, but I find that in this example the Panelator class is declared and implemented in panelator.cpp. I can't instantiate him. So should I move the declaration of the Panelator class into panelator.h? Or is there an easier way? Hope to get your answer, thank you!

Hi. I'm using Video Copilots Optical Flares, but I can't get the flare to move behind an object.Here I have a Photoshop layer cut-out. I select it as Foreground Layer 1, but as you can see, the flare does not disappear.I've spent the entire day trying absolutely everything - the Source Type, the Source Layer, the Layer 5 Sample Method, using a black-and-white matte, but I cannot get this to work. Either the flare doesn't appear at all, or it doesn't go behind the layer.Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me absolutely nuts.I'm in AE 2021, and Optical Flares 1.3.5.Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,  I've been struggling to get the x and y rotation on the particle while using particular.  When I start from a preset I can make this work, but I've compared all the settings to a fresh solid with particular and I can not figure out how to get the ability to edit the X and Y parameters. Any help would be great thanks! Hope this makes sense. 

When setting up Adobe Color Managed, AE remembers your project settings after closing AE and re-opening a new project.   When you set AE to OCIO managed and pick ACES 1.3 Studio config, close AE and reopen, a new project defaults to the first option in the list ACES 1.2 with no working and output space selected.     Running latest beta build as of this post but this behavior existed ever since OCIO's implementation I believe.

After effects was working perfectly fine, but I come back a couple day later to continue a project and the preview is only showing white. I am not able to play the video at all and whenever I move the time using my mouse It just becomes black then goes back to white when I stop moving the time. The timeline also will not load. This is similar to another issue that I have had in the past, yet the solution that I tried last time does not work. I am using After Effect version 24.1 and this problem also comes with After Effects struggling to open and close as it just loads while saying "Program is not Responding".
