Hello!I have an image sequence that I’ve imported of a 360 spin cycle – where frame 0 = 0° / frame 360 = 360°. I’ve then added time remapping to this comp so I can change the angle/view of the 360 spin/rotation. Is there an expression that would allow me to have a specific frame of the time remapping comp used based on the direction it’s facing if I pair this to a Trace Path null position?

Hi, After too many failed attempts, asking for help here. I need to convert an AE file frame to Photoshop Layers. I went through all the steps:Composition > Save file as > Photoshop Layers. The process started as it should have, but every time I get to about 20-25% complete, it says Photoshop ran out of memory on my device. It's not possible. I've cleared out way, way more memory than needed to complete this project. Gigs and Gigs of space. Help! I really need the layers information so I can convert the look to print. Thanks!

Adobe After Effects CC 23.01. take an i.e. 8k 360/VR comp2. apply VR rotate sphere (90 deg pitch, to get Z or N into the center)3. composition -> safe frame as -> PS layers4. AE hangs up forever, and needs to be force-quit config: adobe CC (full/latest Oct 22, 2022 updates)win10, 21H1 19043.2130, ryzen 5900x, 128GB RAM, nvidia 3090 (522.30 studio)

I cannot find any solution to this error message in After Effects:Beim Verarbeiten dieses PDF-Dokuments ist ein Fehler aufgetreten (1074953797)(meaning: processing error of pdf document) This happens when I load compositions, after I have edited them a couple of times. 1. There are no pdf documents inside2. Checked RGB3. Cleared Caches etc. Any ideas? I am loosing more and more trust in these products..  

For exported video properties from after effect i want the metada to be applied. I tried adding metadata from export setting also from render queue but isn't being applied to exported file. Although it is different I also tried from Window-> Metadata Previously it should have been working but Is there something i am doing wrong or missing? or is there some updates that changes export settings? 

I want to move the object in curve. It seems If I drag this 3d layer it creates straite line instead of curve.

Hi, I was working on an adobe after effects project and I was editing the position of an object and suddenly noticed that the controls were inverted. The left input now moved the image up and down and the right one moved it side to side, the number was also inverted, now moving the number up moved the image to the left instead of the right. I don't know if I accidently clicked a button to activate this or what happened but it is extremely annoying to have to seemingly learn all new controls. Any idea what happened or how to fix it is appreciated, thanks.

I've been having this issue with After Effects for a very long time. I'm running the latest version on Windows 10. I could post my system specs but I feel they're inconsequential in this case. Every time I update the software I am hopeful that this bug has been fixed. But each time for the past several years I've been disappointed. So I guess it's time to post about it. Here goes: Sometimes, when I copy text from another piece of software (Chrome, Premiere, Firefox, and Notepad are a few I commonly use) and paste it into After Effects, After Effects does not like to paste the text I've just copied. Instead, it chooses to paste some previously copied text, usually the second most recent text I've copied. At first, I thought I may have failed to copy the text I wished to paste. But the text will paste just fine in other software. It's present on the clipboard (Win + V), and I've tried using the clipboard and clicking on the text I wish to paste. Still pastes the wrong text. The

Hello !I have a probleme with after effects that just came from nowhere, now, when iI try to open any of my projects, the preview of my projects are always slightly faster than realtime (I've calculated around 15-20% faster), so the the sound is in high speech, and it's impossible to have a real preview of my animations.

Build:MacBook Pro 16inch 2023M2 Max96GB memorymacOS Ventura 13.0 Problem: I cannot save a project I've been working on for a few days and saved fine 2 days ago. I have tried "save""save as""save a copy" etc etcI've tried saving to an external hard driveSaving to a different external hard driveSaving to dektop. It gives every appearance of having worked but no new or updated file appears. If I try to close project or quit after effects and respond "save" to the question "Save changes before closing"? it goes through the motions but does not quit or close the project and no updated file is on my hard drive. I am using the latest version, have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted the machine, unplugged the external monitor, deleted preferences, given full disk access, tried safe mode. Nothing is working.. Any help much appreciated 

I was getting this error before as well. Now I have done a clean installation. My drives and BIOS versions are currently up to date. I reinstalled my operating system and it is up to date. Hello. I've been struggling with trying to get my project to keep its frame rate (60) when i try to post it. I render using Handbrake, and ive tried Media encoder. when i play it on my computer, it's fine. When i play it on my phone, it's fine. but when i try posting it (ive tried Youtube and ig) the frame rate drops to like 30. It's super choppy and none of the changes i made to my render settings worked. My 30 fps projects are Totally Fine though. i genuinley don't know at this pointAlso, i render using the frame rate from the project, so that's not part of the problem

I am very inexperienced with After Effects CC (latest version). Keylight may not be the perfect solution but I'm stuck.What I am trying to do is:1. make the film melt right after an explosion happens 2. after this, another clip will start inside the burning hole as the burn fades out3. not use the film burn effect in After Effects4. use a stock video clip has a green screen applied to the hole being created by the burnI figured out how to use Keylight to make the hole in the stock clip of burning film. I can't figure out how to invert it to mask out and apply it to the explosion clip so you I can start the next clip inside the burning hole.Suggestions?

Anyone else having trouble with the layer animators in v24.4.1? The position animator isn't working as it has before. It seems to be animating in an extremely weird way, that's sort of difficult to describe so I'm including a GIF.  The characters seem to be popping back to their original position no matter what. And when on the "Based on: Lines" setting is chosen instead of "characters", the animator doesn't work at all. Bad news for folks who used the animator + masks to animate text on 😞 

Hi, I'm using AE 24.4.1 , and created a project with a single composition and a single paragraph text, to do scripting tests. When running the following script, the value doesn't update if "pos = [0, 0]" var txt = layer.sourceText.value; var pos = [0, 0]; txt.boxTextPos = pos; layer.sourceText.setValue(txt); If pos[0] is not null, or pos[1] is not null, the position updates.The bug seems to occur only with [0, 0]. 

Just wondering if something is going on and whether I'm missing something here. My comp caches to ram pretty quickly and 'pre-renders' in AE. However, when I hit render on a sequence from the queue - in this instance a PNG / JPG sequence - it takes ~25minutes to write out 360 frames. The PNGs are about 5Mb each. The footage is FHD. I swear in older versions of AE this would have exported out in minutes due to it being cached already. I can't understand why it's taking so long. Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

I have been working all day on a wide tracking shot that shows a character moving from the sidewalk into a driveway to the front door from the side. I have been stabilizing it by both tracking points, manual rotation, and 2% warp stabilizer as I don't want the clip to crop too much.Each transform I did in a different composition:Comp 1: Scaled to 84%, manual rotation for the horizon line;Comp 2: Single point track on the character (x-axis only);Comp 3: Rescaling, and manual Y-axis keyframing;Comp 4: 2% smooth warp stabilization (for the small jitters)This issue here is that pre-composing the footage scales down the resolution, not just the clip size.TL;DRIs there any way to scale down footage in a pre-comp and scale the pre-comp up without loss in resolution?If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it.Thanks so much.

Is there a way to duplicate every frame to give a choppy animated look to a live action clip? It was a VFX feature in some software I used to use in the past.

Hello!I have a composition with Essential Properties where I control the Source Text from another composition. How can I script an Expression into the Source Text parameter so that it doesn't change the parameter inside? Right now, when I access the parameter through a script and enter an Expression, the value also changes in the Source Text of the original text itself. And it shows the following message.This Essential Property is controlled by an expression in the Primary Comp, click here to override.Is there a way to code a value so as to separate them?

Hi, I'm struggling with what I think could have an easy solution. I have linked my project to a spreadsheet to enter the Artist, Featuring and Title. The featuring needs to be in the thin font style while the artist needs to be in the regular font style. Hence why I need to use two seperate layers. See example below: This is the result I'm trying to make responsive.  The problem is that I want these two layers to be centered as a group. I know how to align the featuring to the artist text, but I can't seem to center the two to the comp width. When there is no featuring, the Artist name need to be centered. It needs to be responsive as the input data changes with every track. I hope somebody can help me 🙂 Kind regards,
