After Effects

Can someone please help me with after effects? the video tutorials dont help at all i need someone who knows how to edit to walk me through it 

I have this png.  When I double-click on it inside of AE, and view it in the Footage panel it looks exactly as it should.However, the moment I drop it into a comp...  I get this edge?Zoomed in:Literally didnt do anything to layer, but drop it into a comp.  Didn't make it 3d.. didnt do anything.Why is this happening?I need this for a broadcast spot, and its happening on all 3 png layers that make up an animated gradient.Side by Side (In-Comp vs Footage)

Hi all, I'm trying to copy shape layer path into position of an image to make it move along the path but it's not working for me. I'm following this tutorial - (9) After Effects Tutorial: Animate Any Object or Text Along a Custom Path - YouTube Could you please help me resolve the issue? 

AE v23.4Monterey 12.6.6Mac Pro (2019)3.5 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W48 GB 2666 MHz DDR4AMD Radeon Pro W5500X 8 GB Since updating to 23.4, any time I make a change to any element of a composition (such as updating text or adjusting the scale/position of an image layer), the change will be made, but it won't be visible in the composition veiwer. I've confirmed this by making the change and seeing the change reflected in the linked composition in Premiere. Rebooting and doing a cache clear fixed the issue, but only temporarily.  This is massively impacting my productivity. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have a NVidia RTX graphics card with 12gb, 64 gb memory, good processor, many terra NVME, all the latest drivers, latest windows 11, ... And I can't go through a session of more than 5 minutes without encountering a new bug, a pop up attack or a crash. Is there something I'm missing, some settings maybe that can help aleviate some of those annoyances? Do you encounter as many bugs? What are the settings you use if your after effects isn't buggy (or even that buggy), what are the "tips and tricks" you use because you know some "way of doing things" might bug? I really need help here. 

Hi, Is there a way to get the PostScript Font Names? For example Arial Bold maps to `textDocument.font = 'ArialMT'` but this isn't very intuitive. Any thoughts?We'd ideally like to be able to have a list of all the PostScript font names so we can programmatically set them all as desired!

I can work for some time before mocha behaves weirdly, when I apply tracking data as transforms to a null object, the frames are spread far far appart. It's already a pain to navigate through the countless crashes of after effects, the many popups that tells me keylight needs another 120 giga byte of ram to run for 1 frame,... but now that some of the plugins don't even behave the intended way, I start to get really demoralized. Any help is welcome, my project is due in 5 days, and I don't have the time to track everything by hand.

Hi, I would like to know what the square icon on the left of a file mean pls?Even if I click on it or not nothing change in my composition.Is it important to have it selected or not for the export?Thanks in advance 🙂

Usually I have little problems programming things with Expressions.However, I can't get or set any of the "newer" accessible parameters like font size, tracking, leading, fill color, etc. etc.This seems to take place with techniques that do not resemble normal After Effects expressions.None of the examples that I can find on the entire internet work.Something liketext.sourceText.style.setFontSize(25);should work when pasted into the Source Text expression field, should it not?

Hello,I created a timelapse at 25fps from 657 individual images using After Effects.Now I have rendered this MP4 into JPEG still images using After Effects and only get 399 images with the 25fps setting. I don't understand it right away. Shouldn't this be 657 again?Discovered by chance because I want to change my clips from 25fps to 30fps. These run better on the TV, or that's how they are set.I set AE to 25 fps in project settings and under presets when importing, import the video clip and have individual images rendered.Then I set everything to 30 fps, import the individual images and render them out in 30 fps. The sum of the individual images almost never corresponds to the original.Does anyone have an explanation for this, since the newly rendered clips are not only shorter by the difference from 25 to 30 fps, but by a lot more.Best regardsJuergen After Effects 2023 latest Version

when i replay my audio i hear a popping or clicking sound at the end. the audio loops and is 25 seconds long. it started to do the popping sound after a while, it didn't do a weird sound in the beginning of editing it

Hello all, My comp seems to be shifting to the left side and reappearing on the right side during the exporting process. I've never experienced this issue before and frankly I have no idea why it's occuring. I've tried exporting to the render queue as well as media encoder, I've restarted the programs, cleared the cache, created a comp in a comp - anything I could think of so far has not worked. This is what the comp is supposed to look like, and what it currently looks like in my AE file: Thanks in advance!

HiI have issue with AE timeline template, so the template has one date at a time to show like this I need to add to more dates to it, and then is where the issues beggins - so when I copy the text modul it's just keeps pushing the same date in every of them - like this it hapenns even when I'm creating the text with animation on my own and put it in pre-compose segment.Anyone have any idea how to fixed that? Really aprreaciate... some screen with how the files is constructed 

Not sure what is causing this issue but I have had this problem for years and always ended up ignoring it. Never found any video or discussion on this topic. Don't really know how to describe the issue either - so bare with me. Please look at the letters above. These are simple shape layers with one colour fill and without any effects. If you look closely you can see a lighter colour on the left and a darker colour on the right. It becomes almost like an embossing of the shapes which is why I chose to call it the "Embossing render bug". I have tried:Bumping up my bit-depth in my colour settingsRGB Straight"Remove colour matting" effectScaling up my compositions to very high resolutionsRendering with After Effects renderer and Media EncoderMany different file formatsAll sorts of colour/video settings in both After Effects and Media Encoder Nothing has worked for me so far and I would really appreciate a solution. Hi! I'm editing masks on after effects and everything is okay while editing but when I export the masks on alpha and import it to premiere, a thin pink line appears as the outline of the masks! Does anybody know how to fix this?

I've been having a problem with my After Effects 2020, It'll not open my edit after trying multiple times. Everytime I opened it, a blank pop up saying "Open project" and close out my After Effects. Any help on solving this?

Is there a way to make rain created with After Effects collide with the ground on various types of surfaces? Rock, Asphalt, Water, etc.Furthermore, can I create water (both still and in motion) on the ground? Hi everyone,Hoping you can help me with this specifically odd problem.I'm creating this neat text effect using CC Repetile - which utilizes the Slide option under Tiling.However, I discovered that when I switched my Comp Res from Third to Full, the effect no longer appears.It does not appear once rendered either. I've tried applying it to the actual text layer and not the pre-comp, but that yielded the same results. I tried applying the effect to a pre-render as well and that did not work either. Is there perhaps a way to render a comp at Third resolution as you see it with Ram Preview? The only work-around I can think of would be a screen-recording hah... I'm not sure what's going on, and it's such a specific problem I'm having no luck finding a solution online.Hope you all can help!Thanks!
