Hi, I'd like to suggest adding an audio notification to the 'The selected output module will overwrite a file that already exists.' modal dialog box that pops up when rendering from render queue. There's been times when I've pressed render, locked my screen and walked away, while actually leaving AE sat on this dialog and not rendering. That's on me, but if there was an audio notification when this popped up it would be a nice quality of life impreovement that would help reduce these happenings. Like a car beeping if you've left your lights on. Cheers!
The properties panel is such a great addition to the software. I feel it could go a step further by displaying some editable comp information (comp dimensions, framerate, etc) if no layers are selected. This would bypass hitting command/ctrl + K to edit the comp or even just to check the dimensions of the comp. Thoughts?
The feather mask tool was introduced, like 10 years ago.And still I have yet to see a single artist using it.The reason is simple, and it had been brought up from the very beginning: the feather keyframes are the same as the mask shape keyframes - it's ridiculous.Every roto artist in every software does shapes first and feathering later - but this workflow is impossible with AE - if we do shapes first, then we have to redo the feather on every single frame with a mask shape keyframe on it.Can we pleaaase have a separate feather keyframe track? Most rotojobs require like 20-30 mask shape keyframes but only 2-3 fether keyframes - there is no reason why these two properties shouldn't have two separate animation tracks 😕😕
Hi Adobe,Can you please make it so that Ae will recongize variable stoke width profiles from Ai into Ae? Rather than tuing them into compound paths or closed paths. I am creating animations with a specific look and it requires the strokes taper. I don't want cloaws paths as my strokes when I import he Ai file and then do "Right click > Create Shapes from Vector Layer". I need them to remain at strokes. The same issue is talked about here:https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/width-tool-problem/m-p/13896891#M371605Best regards,A Very Tired Motion Designer
Currently, the behavior when collecting files is to reopen the project that was the collect source. I believe it would be best to open the collected project. I would suggest a user option in the collect files dialog to control what project is opened after the collect process.I've been using After Effects 23 years. For all this time, after every collect, i must wait for it to load the old project and then i immediately open the collected project to check it. Every time. Currently i am responsible for archiving the work of 6-10 other compositores for our clients and ourselves. I sometimes do more than 60 collects per week.Every collect must be visually inspected. Usually these are reduced from the source project so they load much faster. Loading the original source project wastes time.making this a toggle option will allow current behavior to be the default and load of collect to be the optional choice.[x] Load collected project when
Hi You All,I'd like to be able to not only move pieces of composition left/right in the timeline but also up and down, like in Premiere. Doable? 😉 Thanks!
When exporting a video using After Effects then you must manually change the bitrate while considering the resolution, frame rate, and high dynamic range. This is a tedious and frustrating aspect that is not intutive and yet is vital in ensuring the exported video is high quality. To streamline this difficulity, I would like to request the addition of a CRF slider into the H264/HEVC export settings panel. This feature already exists in FFmpeg and AfterCodecs and is quite useful. From the FFmpeg documentation:Constant Rate Factor (CRF) - Use this rate control mode if you want to keep the best quality and care less about the file size. This method allows the encoder to attempt to achieve a certain output quality for the whole file when output file size is of less importance. This provides maximum compression efficiency with a single pass. By adjusting the so-called quantizer for each frame, it gets the bitrate it needs to keep the requested quality level. The downside is that y
The concept of generative live tracing in video content, accompanied by AI-powered recoloring of the output, enables users to create seamless and consistent animations with stable color palettes derived from video sources. Inspired by the recent demonstration of AI-driven recoloring of vector art at the Figma convention, the notion of applying this approach to videos within After Effects sparked intriguing possibilities. Colorists have been utilizing Look-Up Tables (LUTs) for many years, and the idea of adapting and fine-tuning the outcomes of live tracing dynamically adds an extra layer of fascination to the process.
for now,if we want to reset the footage or comp in/out point on timeline,we need to set it in the layer panel after double-clicking and manual setting it,or dragging in/out point on the timeline.if there's a shortcut to reset or align the original(source) in/out points. Such shortcut would be really useful.
Since the non-beta version 23.4 properties panel appeared, but it need a little useful improvement: when you add in shape layer effects like Trim Path, Repeater, Twist and so on they aren't shown in propety panel. It would be useful if such effects will appear in propety panel while adding them
I find myself using Adobe Bridge more and more.AE has Reveal in Explorer on right click contextual menus. Why not add Reveal in Bridge?
It's nice to be able to switch layers during while composition time progresses.
Duplicating / copying keyframes on multiple layers is quite a hazzle.Alt Drag now scales the keyframe selection in time, but intuitively, througout CC, Alt Drag creates a duplicate of the selection. Please make that happen in Ae too (also for Layers...) The time scale for keyframes should get a new shortcut in that case.
All of the new motion template features are always a delight to come across, but I think the one key feature we need when creating mogrts is the ability to resize text boxes. When I'm creating a lower third, the client likes to have the option to make the container longer or shorter, except when that feature is implemented, the text box they are allowed to type within cannot be altered as well (without a very lengthy and complicated workaround).Sometimes line text doesn't cut it as you still need the text to stay within a specified area, it would be great to see a feature where you can contain paragraph text within the bounds of a shape layer, or just have more control over the text boundaries with keyframes and expressions. Thanks!
Currently,When creating Mogrts, you can't drag and drop properties from the Properties panel directly to the Essential Grphics Panel.so you still have to find the properties and drag and drop for expanded bunch of menus from the timeline. If we can drag and drop properties from Properties panel to Essential Grphics Panel, it will be quite convenient.
When I draw any shape on the after effects, for example, there are a lot of points in the mouth, so I want to adjust some points. how to snap between two points on after effects?when I make any shape on the blender I snap between two points.I upload some ScreenShots.
Assuming I've not missed something that's already possible, it appears that there is no way to lock comp markers via scripting. The only apparent way to do this inside After Effects is by right-clicking a comp marker and selecting 'Lock markers'. Layer markers can be (un/)locked via scripting by invoking the relevant menu command ID, but it would be helpful to also have a method available for comp markers. Alternatively, it would be helpful if invoking the command ID (2565) could toggle locking comp markers when no layers are selected.
Hello, it has come to my attention that an upgrade is necessary. There is a considerable amount of commentary surrounding the conversion of precompositions to un-precompositions. I have observed multiple tutorials addressing this specific issue. Unfortunately, several solutions rely on third-party tools such as "Ae+scripts," which come at an additional cost. It would be highly beneficial if the software itself could be enhanced to include this functionality, eliminating the need for users to purchase supplementary plugins or scripts to address minor bugs.
In Adobe Animate, you can place the time marker on a frame and press F5 and it will insert a frame on your timeline, pushing everything else one frame forward. I'd LOVE to see something like this brought over to After Effects. I often need to shorten or extend something, but adjusting all my keyframes manually is tedious at best. In addition, it would be nice to be able to insert a frame on everything if nothing is selected in your timeline or insert frames only on selected objects in your timeline. Similarly, removing frames would be equally as helpful.
It would be fantastic if you could cut audio and video in after-effects like Premiere and have multiple cuts on the same layer instead of duplicating the clip for every cut.
Is there any scripting access to the render queue item's comment? I would have assumed it would be something similar to other object's comment access, but this returns undefined.app.project.renderQueue.item(1).comment
Just showing of Adobes Inconsistency within UI and Workspaces as in this example for four different apps. This is ridiculous that the dev teams cannot communicate and setup properly.
A pet peeve for a long time, but AE is the only program I can recall with this behaviour. When you use the Open Project option it closes the current open one. Please make it so that it only closes the current project after you've actually selected a project to open in the dialog, and not before.
If I have ten layers with the same effect on it, let's say a gaussian blur. And I want to change a parameter on that effect on all ten layers. It would be awesome if I could simply select all ten layers and then do the setting in the Effect Control. And then all the ten selected layers would be changed.I was hoping that this would be possible with your new Properties panel, but it wasn´t.I know workarounds, but it would be really helpful if it would work without any workarounds. Thanks,Jakob
AE is hopeless and locating missing things with unhelpful warnings that a single file is missing. In resolve for example you can select all the sources, missing or otherwise, and ask the program to search for them in a location. 1) the warning should list the missing files by name or in the case of effects list the comp they're in. 2) it should be much easier to re-link files as per the resolve examples.
