Using AE V24.1.0 Build 59 on Windows 10 as seen from the attached images, when rotoscoping this subject, the AI algorithm keep including the chest area approx every 5 seconds. If I let this proceed unchecked, Roto V3 eventually includes the complete chest area. So every 5 seconds I had to keep telling AE Roto V3 to include the chest area and the algorithm just never learned to keep it excluded. Maybe we need a mask to tell Roto leave this area alone?
One of the features in photoshop that I find extremely helpful is that when you nudge a layer, no matter how many times you've nudged, if you hit undo, it resets back to the original position, treating all the nudges as one action. I would love to see this implemented in After Effects. As a motion graphics artist I find myself wishing for this feature very often. After doing a dozen small nudges, if I change my mind I have to hit cmd+z as many times as I nudged, or I have to manually drag it back into position, with no guarantee of getting it perfectly back where I had it. I find it hard to imagine a situation where I wouldn't want to undo all nudges in one keystroke, so to me, it's a no-brainer. I think over the course of many projects, this feature would save quite a bit of time and frustration.
Good morning all, and happy Friday! Coming to you with an update on Selectable Track Matte Layers: with After Effects Beta version 23.0x37 we are introducing the following scripting changes to support the new Selectable Track Matte Layer behavior. Previous scripting models, and After Effects as a whole, only required the setting of trackMatteType, as there was no ambiguity about which layer was the track matte — it was always the layer right above the matted layer in the layer stack (index-1). Since Track Mattes can now be sourced from any layer, our scripting methods have been updated as well. However, legacy scripts that do not supply a Track Matte source will fall back to previous behavior of using the layer above the current layer as the Track Matte source. New API 1. AVLayer.setTrackMatte() - Method to set the track matte on the AV Layer.Parameters:* trackMatteLayer : the AV layer to be used as the track matte layer for the fill layer. Passing null for layer w
In build 59, in Advanced 3D (and Cinema 4D) cameras only have one property in Camera Options (Zoom).
Looks like the import of 3D assets is broken again - models import with no preview (just a bounding box).I tried with glb files only.Issue occures on 24.1.0.29 and the most recent 24.1.0.30.
I was testing a 3D model yesterday (October 16th) and my model looked good. I updated the BETA this morning (October 17th) and now my model is missing some pieces. Please see image attached. I have circled the missing pieces. Version: 24.1.0.52Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1

I have created a project in version 23.6. After updating to 24.0, the inserted 3D object (.glb) is no longer displayed correctly: it turns deep black. I assume this has something to do with the Mercury 3D renderer. Does anyone have the same problem? Here you can see the comparison of before and after:
why? whyyy??
I've had multiple instances of masks failing to work. Suddenly the mask will just be a path and not mask anymore. restarting AE seems to fix it. Toggling add, substract etc does nothing, attempts to check masks are closed does nothing. Example screenshot is 2 add masks that aren't working.
Today we are excited to announce the availability of Speculative Preview in After Effects beta, available in builds 18.4x37 or newer. Download the latest build from Creative Cloud Desktop. What is Speculative Preview? While AE is idle (e.g., you’ve stopped to admire your beautiful design, checking email, or getting coffee, etc.), the composition that has focus (and any pre-comps in that comp) will begin automatically rendering in the background. You’ll see green cache marks appearing as frames are rendered and you will not lose your place in the preview window. This should allow you to then scrub around the composition with frames already rendered, speeding up your design/preview iteration loop. You can see Speculative Preview in action in the attached video. Please use this forum post to discuss and provide feedback. Thanks!
I am uisng After Effects Beta version 24.1.0 and when I import 3D models in it they are invisible

Hi, I have a problem. 3d models are invisible in After Effects Beta version 24.1.0.Do I need draft 3d to be visible? And how I can do this?
I made double sided cards and built up 3d house of cards. Lit them etc and used custom view camera with advanced 3d... everthing was fine. then out of the blue The card surfaces got a pixelated jazzy pattern on them. Help!!!
after effect error: CINEMA 4D: render failed (5070::0) when i add a spot light to cinema 4d composition, pls fix
Hi , I'm getting some odd cache functioning when previewing advanced renderer timelines. The cache isn't accumalating as normal and also it seems to be 'adding' to memory each time it repeats a frame , buffer errors perhaps ? I'm enjoying the 3d object import btw thanks! As you may have noticed, as of After Effects 24.1 build 14 (so for a while now), there were big changes to the rendering of non-model 3D layers in the Advanced 3D engine. Imported models have always used physically-based rendering for their materials and now objects created internally within After Effects do too. Any solids, precomps, text, and shape layers with the 3D switch activated are now textured and renderedwith Adobe Standard Material, a Physically-Based Rendering-material format capable of more accurate and photographic looks. This may have some impact on the way your 2D layers look when you click the toggle to change them to 2D to 3D, but it enables significantly more integrated and beautiful lighting and rendering of your scenes. Physically-Based Rendering (PBR) is an industry-standard way of building out the entire space in which every type of physical material exists and reacts to light and reflections. PBR aims to more realistically model how surfaces respond in the
where is the problem?
this is all that appears in the AE Beta folder.
3D model import was originally released to After Effects Beta in October 2022. So much has changed in the past 10 months! Since new features are being released today, we thought this would be a good time to recap the entire feature set and provide a new FAQ. This document reflects the state of 3D model import and rendering features as of After Effects Beta build 24.0x23, released on August 9, 2023. Where possible, we have linked to existing documentation already offered at helpx.adobe.com, which will be the eventual home for all of this. Overview 3D model import in After Effects Beta allows you to import 3D model files in OBJ, GLTF, and GLB format and render them in the same 3D space as native After Effects cameras, lights, and other 3D layers. A new high-quality, performance-oriented composition renderer, Mercury 3D, enables this rendering. Environment lights, a new type of 3D light layer available in the Mercury 3D renderer, add realistic image-based lighting and
Steps to reproduce:I work off Google Drive, which has been fine, until the last AE beta update, where projects seem to freeze on asset download, but never seems to recover (spinning beachball, no assets downloading), and I have to force quit AE. I've attached logs, which show a few warnings and errors. I'm able to open the same project in AE 23.6 without a problem.Result: crashExpected: project to openSystem infoApplication: After Effects (Beta) v24.1.0.34OS: macOS v14.0.0, RAM: 64.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 10 (M1 Max)
How do i get access to ther AE beta(24) with rotobrust 3.0.At the moment, I can only find the Photoshop beta installer. There is no beta for AE installable in Adobe CC. If AE beta is complete, any idea when the 3.0 version of the tool will be released?

On Mac OS (Sonoma) I find glb files which used to show up using the Mercury renderer are now just an empty bounding box. Is this going on for anyone else?
