Audition

Good afternoon. I am opening a voiceover business, and one of the places I am marketing myself is on ACX as an audiobook narrator. However, for as much as I love to act, I have never been good with audio editing, and now I am at the end of my rope trying to edit a sample recording of my narration to upload to ACX. I recorded a snippet from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and (after a bit of editing and adding a few effects) managed to get everything looking spot on to comply with ACX's standards and requirements. However, I realized upon playback that now at some parts when I am speaking in the regal, commanding voice of the Queen my voice sounds very robotic. As Edmund, it sounds fine, but when I raise my voice as the Queen it suddenly sounds off when it sounded just fine in my original recording! I need to record a voiceover for a client (deadline today) but my main computer (2009 iMac) died just when I was finishing editing. I'm trying to switch over to my backup machine (2009 Macbook Pro) which I have used in the past (and Audition has worked) to re-record but I'm unable to arm the track for recording. (I can import a file and playback okay.) Audio from the mic is coming through the Scarlett 2i2 interface (colored ring lights up) and registers in System Prefs/Sound input meter, but the "I" button for Monitor Input is greyed out/dis-enabled. Both channels are set to Scarlett 2i2 USB: Input 1 in Audio Channel Mapping. Default Input is Scarlett 2i2 USB in Audio Hardware. Inputs/Outputs is set to Scarlett 2i2 USB Input 1. (Screenshots attached.) I can't think of what else to try. I've searched online and asked in two voiceover support groups but so far no answers. Seems like I had this same problem a few years ago but my memory is failing me as to what the solution was.

Just updated my system to the 22.3 version and I'm unable to drag and drop audio files into Audition. Anyone know how this can be resolved? 

Here's the problem. I think I've accidentally pressed some hotkey and now the tracks aren't placing right as it was before with the autocorrecting. Now I have to zoom to max to place them right, when before that they could be easily placed at the start/end of another track automatically. Please help and save me ton of time, ty

Recording a podcast using a combination of Audition, Voicemeter and Shure MV7 microphones via USB and randomly experience static upon playback. Advice?

I am trying to multi-track record audio using an external USB audio soundcard. I record track 1 which is fine. When I record track 2 while playing along with track one, it sounds fine - in time. But when I go to playback both tracks (to listen to them both), track 2 starts about a half-second behind track 1. I have set the latency in hardware set up to 30 - as low as it will go. The soundcard works and doesn't do this on an older version of Audition (legacy V 3 before they went cloud). I also have audition loaded on two computers and it does the same on both computers so it isn't the computer or soundcard. Please help - Audition is really useless to me at this point due to this issue. Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated. 

Can't seem to figure out why all of my audio files are saving with a question mark at the end. For instance, the file might be something like, Hello_01_Example_02 and I'll save it as a wav file, and it will save it as Hello_01_Example_02?.wav. Then I have to go in to every one and delete the question mark, since the files have to be exactly as written. I've tried uninstalling Audition and re-installing, and it's still doing it. I'm working on a Macbook Air. Thanks in advance. 

Hello all!I'm relatively new to using Adobe Audition. I have used it for some basic recording and noise removal in the past, but now I am working on recording some VO. I am trying to apply effects (compressor & Parametric EQ) to a track in the multitrack editor for use while recording live (I want the effects to be applied while recording to prevent clipping and some background hum). Supposedly these should effect the recording as it is being recorded, correct? However I am not seeing any change to my recording as a result of adding these effects. I also don't seem to be able to adjust the gain effectively.Any advice or feedback would be much appreciated - thank you!

I am Having an Issue with My Mic not being able to record anything. I have looked through a bunch of turtorials explaining the same things about going to audio hardware and Audio channel mapping and setting up my Mic and with everything inputed in correctly I still can't record anything from my Mic.

Bit of a long shot but is anyone selling an older version of Audition they no longer need?  My PC isn't high enough spec to run the latest one.

Hi there, I have searched and can't find anything on this subject newer than 2019. We are relatively new to Audition, we are on our 4th podcast (we as in me and my son). We are on the latest version of Adobe Audition. We just spent hours, more than 15, editing a podcast and it was perfect. We added the intro and saved it and then poof. The file went corrupt. No error message, nothing. The intros and outros are perfectly fine and we tried the previous episode files and they all play perfectly. But all four audio files from the podcast portion have all gone corrupt. When played, it sounds like skipping and each individual file is playing at once even though the spectral view, in the beginning, looks fine. The entire middle section of all four files disappeared as well. We have no idea what happened. Again, no error messages when saving, nothing. We went into the backup files to try to recover and the same thing has happened to all of the backup files (backs up every 10 minutes). We are a

I have an interview that I recorded on Zoom.  The file has both me and the guest on separate tracks which is what I wanted.  However; how do I make sure that neither track moves out of place as I continue to edit?  

I just finished creating a mix at a level of -23LUFS. Both the digital loudness radar and my external meter confirm it is -23LUFS. However, after importing it in premiere and resolve, both NLE's tell me it is -26,8 LUFS. All of the separate audio tracks are linked to buses. Voice to voice bus, music to music bus etc. All of the three buses are connected to one final bus, which I placed the loudness radar on. I only exported the final bus. I can't seem to find any settings that might make the audio volume lower during export. Can someone tell me what is going on? I seem to have this a lot in the past as well when I export the master track, sometimes the audio is a bit lower than it should be. Is there any way to tell audition to export 'what you hear is what you get'?

I am using Audition 3. My workspace displays the waveform in 3 separate sections. On the left is the waveform of the first 10 seconds and on the right, the last 10 seconds and in the centre the entire waveform. I can't work with this workspace, how do I restore the conventional simple view of the waveform?I would be grateful for any advice you could give me.Here's a screenshot.

I have been starting a YouTube channel and going through the audio and video editing but sometimes when adding audio into audition and premiere elements my audio sounds really quiet but if I play the audio through windows Media player it sounds loud and clear. Any ideas why or what is going on?

I have used Audobe Audition for years, (and Cool Edit) before that.  I recently got a new computer and have re-installed Audition 1.5.  Now playback sounds clipped and buzzy.  I record "stereo mix" from the sound card.  Could I have some sort of an input / output cinfluct?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi ... this has been driving me mad for a while now. I edit my audio files and they have a name like:  loud_Bounce_1_Copy(2)_R. I save the file as MONKEY Chapter 2 which is what I want it to be viewed as. However in Quicktime (and other apps) it shows loud_Bounce_1_Copy(2)_R...  how do I overwrite this to always have my preferred title on the file? HELP ME !!!   

Hi,In Adobe Premiere Pro, it's possible to queue up videos for rendering and export. Is there any similar feature for multitrack sessions in Adobe Audition?I have 100+ multitrack sessions ranging from 20 minutes to an hour that I need to export, being able to queue and bulk export would save a lot of time, since each individual export takes 5-20 minutes and the time remaining estimate is rarely accurate, meaning I have to babysit it.Thanks!

When I open Adobe Audition 2017 I get the following error message: Audition's primary temp volume cannot be found. Please review Audition's disk cache preferences."  I go to the preferences and see an explanation point next to Primary Temp. I click browse and I am in the Document's folder in my Mac. From there I get lost.Can anyone give me advice on how to correct this problem?

Hello!I'm working on a multitrack session and would go into waveform to clean up/normalize audio for each individual track. I'm normalizing all waveforms to -6dB. However, when I go back to multitrack, all levels are at -9dB. This didn't use to happen before. Is there a fix for this so that multitrack levels are syncing/matching waveform levels? Thanks in advance!

When I select the track I want to fix and click scan nothing happened. My audio is heavily clipped. 

Hello,I just recently installed Audition, and for a few days I was playing with the time stretch function. But this morning it suddenly seems to have disappeared - all I see now under "Time and Pitch" are "Automatic Pitch Correction" and "Pitch Shifter", neither one of which allows me to play with time.Am I I missiing something? What happened to the "Stretch and Pitch" effect (if that's what it was called)?Thanks,

Uso adobe audition 2019 y al momento de mover un clip en el multipista mientras se está reproduciendo la sesión  el programa se bloquea y se cierra, cuando reinicio el programa no se guarda nada. Alguien sabe si es un problema de velocidad de reproducción? ¿tarjeta de video?. Muchas gracias. Saludos.
