Audition

I have been given about a couple of dozen cassette tapes recorded probably 20 plus years ago. These were recordings of the village memories of elderly residents, now all deceased.Unfortunately the person recording them made a number of basic mistakes - speakers too far far from microphone, wrong recording levels, and so forth. The poor quality of the recordings have been made worse I think by print through as the tapes spools have been in the same position for all thse years.For my part, I have to say that I am very much a novice when it comes to use Audition, so that doesn't help.I am sure there are professionals out there who could improve the quality of the sound, but the village history group does not have the funds.Any pointers you can give me that would help me tackle the problem would be gratefully received.I have attached a brief sample. 

Hi All, I hope it's ok to ask here? I have a .sesx multitrack file in Audition CS6 that contains my backing tracks for a showband I play in. The file is essentially two hours long, and has about 30 songs. Each of the 30 songs is mixed perfectly in gain and output volume, but each song is slightly different output volume to each other, so I find it hard to mix the band whilst we play live with this slightly inconsistent output volume.  There are about 400 individual audio files spread across the 16 different tracks that make up the 30 songs. Could anyone please suggest a simple solution to make all 30 songs output the same -6Db level so I can set and forget? Or is the best solution really just a painful session with headphones on, and attempt to balance all 30 songs by guesswork? I run the Macbook audio out via USB to a stereo USB input channel in the mixer, and just use the Adobe .sesx file multitracked as is, so I can flick things on and off if needed with differen

I have been trying to create an  audio CD for the car player and all is fine except for one small convenience matter.  I was expecting to be able to see track information.  After several hours of searching and some experimenting I write to the forum for some guidance or other ideas that might help me understand my failure so far.  One experiment I did was to take two commercially produced audio CD's and insert them into my car's CD player.  One displayed and the other did not.  Taking the one that works to my PC and using Windows Media player or Audition, the track information did not appear but after I used "Update Album Information" the fields populated. So I will be able to report the outcome once I try to take the ripped audio to burn a CD for the car.  But all my efforts so far have me baffled.  The Windows metadata fields all are populated yet no success when I play the CD in the car.  Has anyone had similar challenges?  

I purchased Premier Elements 12 some years ago and due to work commitments didn't have time to use it.  I have just started copying some old VHS stuff, mostly old anaglog camera stuff, onto DVD so that I can edit and save as MP4.   Not too challenging to import the DVD files into Elements, but saving as a MP3 file, which the brocure says it works with seems imposible.  I was thining of upgrading to the Premier Elements 2022 vesrion, but would rather spend my money elsewhere if it is not going to be possible to save the edited DVD video file as an MP4.  Can anyone advise if this is possible with the 2022 version please.

Hi Everyone,I am fairly new to Audition but feel like I have gotten a handle on things. I recently was editing my podcast on two separate wav files in the multitrack. I have been going back and forth with the wave form editing as well and removing noises. After saving it last time, 2 days ago, I tried opening it today to get "Error: Corrupt Files: not a valid RIFF File" I have no idea what this means. When I try to open the file separately, I get "Error: Media Foundation reported an error when opening the file. Media Foundation returned error 0x80070002" I can seem to find any answers for that error either. I spent 3 days editing this file and hope someone can help me figure this out. I would greatly appreciate any help!

Any way to open .ses files as cannot access my pc with audition installed

Hi People, I am hoping I can use my Intensity Chuttle to record old audio recordings by recording directly into Audition. I've set Audtiontion up so it has the Shuttle as its audio hardware, but no signal is being seen by Audition. I checked the Audio Midi Setup and while the Shulttle is present, the level controls are not accessible - they're greyed out. They appear to be set to 0. I can record audio through Premiere Pro and Blakc magic's Media Exprss, but I would prefer to go through Audition. I should note that audio is present in both Premiere Pro and Media Express when recording video, and in when I disconnect the video cable to the shuttle. So it appears to be an audition issue.. I've attached images from Audio Midi setup to show where I think the problem lies. Has anyone been successfull in this? MacBook Pro 2019MacOS MontereyAudition  2021

How do you keyframe the audio effects and other things like AE?  The 5.1 tracker panner would be cool to keyframe.

I have a piece of audio which is very poor quality and I am doing my best to make it at least usable but I'm still way off the mark - It might not be possible but I wanted to ask and see if anyone had any advice or methods to help out. It remains an "I" on single track, though.  With the "+" cursor in multitrack we can't split tracks, etc.  Anyone know how to reslove this issue?  Thanks!!!

Hi everyone,I've been editing a short film in Audition that was set up as a 32 bit/48khz stereo multitrack that was imported through a .xml. I've been editing in stereo, no changes to audio hardware or channel mapping, and have used both track and clip pans in the last week. I left it for a few days and opened it up to do a final pass and noticed that it's now a mono session with only the clips that I've panned individually showing the pan keyframes. All the track pans have disappeared. I've made a copy (through windows explorer) of the .sesx file and opened it in notepad, and both the session and the master track are stereo.When I play the section with the individually panned clips, the meters show that each output channel are panning, but the options to change on other clips and the tracks aren’t there. I have a bunch of old projects done during my brief flirtation with Logic Express 9 and I need to find a way to get them into Audition. Having been away from this space for some time, I'm a little stumped on how best to do this. Since Logic Express no longer runs on my iMac, I'm in the process of updating my Mac OS to installing the Logic Pro trial, hoping it will be able to import my old .logic projects so that I can export them in a format AA can import. But what would that be? OMF? XML? Final Cut? After about two hours of chasing this down various rabbit holes I thought I'd best see whether the collective wisdom here could save me more frustration. Any guidance, team? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I found a bug in the filter "effect - mastering" I have several presets that refused to be loaded correctly. Here is a screenshot of an example. Only the default one and the voice place effect load correctly.However, I solved the problem by recreating the presets from an older version of adobe Audition that did not have the problem (e.g. Adobe Audition CC 2017) and overwriting the ones that had become defective.I'd had this once or twice before with a CC 2019 or CC 2020 version during a cumulative update. I didn't have the problem again on versions 2021 and 2022 until the 22.1.1 update. Just to say that if I didn't have an older version next to it, I'd be hard pressed to fix the problem.Knowing that I had already tested by reinstalling the software.

Hello dear community,Could need some help. My recordings are by default two indepentend mono tracks that are supposed to make a stereo file. In editing though, I am not sure how much I should pan them on the right and left. What is the standard here? Eg, say, L20 and R20 or something similar? The two mono tracks were recorded by a Audio-Technice BP 4025 and a Zoom H5 in multi file mode, that's why they are indepentend mono tracks.It's interview files, so voices and atmosphere. I don't know if that is of any concern, but I intend to give them to a radio station. Maybe they have different standards than stereo panning for other purposes.Hope that is clear.Thanks a lot in advance!

Whenever I load a Multitrack project - even with only four tracks - the CPU usage on Windows Explorer jumps and causes Audition to stall, both on playback and during editing. This stalling happens every minute or so, then the Windows Explorer CPU usage drops back down and I can use the program smoothly. This stalling is intermittent, but consistent, so it makes the program practically unusable. Rebooting doesn't help. Closing all other programs doesn't help. And this problem occurs only when Audition is running - as soon as I close Audition, Windows Explorer no longer exhibits any CPU usage spikes. I have an 8-core/16-logical-core processor with 64G RAM and an NVidia 1080 graphics card, with the latest Windows 10 build and updates, and the latest version of Audition, so such stalling doesn't make sense... I am using my motherboard's built-in audio hardware, e.g., I do not have a dedicated sound card. Any help out there (other than rebooting or closing other programs, neither of which h

For the past 4 months I've been having processing issues with my Apollo Twin interface. While recording I intermittently have a white noise or static sound running through my files and levels dropping mid recording.  I have tried different Thunderbolt cables and outlets, different mic cables, different mics, hard reset on computer and interface, different computers, etc.  I've been in contact several times over this time with UA.  After recommending all of the above they said it must be Adobe Audition's problem.  They went on to say I need to try one of their "supported DAW's".  Has anyone ever had a problem using an UA Apollo device and Adobe Audition?Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

HI allI recorded a guitar line - took about 20 takes until I was happy. I deleted unused versions as I went along from the files window - but this was labour intensive, slowed things down and anyway the files still existed in the name_Recorded folder. Is there a way to delete takes that don't appear anywhere on the timeline in a multitrack session and so aren't wanted? Gonna end up with a huge number of them otherwise thanks

When I click them from the default red I cannot click it back to make it red again.. what happened? They are all red by default (no idea what they do).  

AE and 3D Sound with Tracker?  Is this possible to do, I haven't looked into it.  If you attach it to a Null object, can the sound be in 3D space?

In the middle of a long edit yesterady, Audition crashed with no warning and I lost about an hour of work. My auto save and backup is set to Creative Cloud Files but when I login to Creative Cloud, my files are empty.  What's happened? How can I recover this session?

How do you global master EQ in multitrack?  I don't want to do each individually as there are so many tracks.

Since updating to 22.1.1.23 I'm noticing the single band compressor is no longer fully compressing my peaks. For example, I have my threshold at -8.9, yet I'm still seeing peaking beyond -9. This wasn't happening with previous versions... it would hard-compress to my specified threshold. Are my settings off? Did something change between versions?
