Hi guys, so I have a recording from a classroom study where participants work in groups of two. There is a recording device (in this case, an iPad) on every table, but the groups are sitting too closely together so the recording picked up more than one group's conversation. There is one group of girls who talk very quietly and I would like to understand what they are saying, but the male voices in the background are just too loud. Can anybody think of a way to remove the (deeper, louder) male voice in the background? Google just doesn't know this specific situation. I have tried opening the file in the waveform editor and opening the spectral frequency display with the colors, but I can't figure out which are the noises corresponding to the voice I want to remove... Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance (a simple "it's impossible" would also help, at least then I know I don't need to keep looking...) GrüßeCaro
I got someone's sound simple, find out his 16K~22K gone missing in the Frequency Analysis panel, i just started my Audition yesterday and i was wondering if the part has been cut out could be saved, or any options to bring this wave back to normal. Oh god help me~
Hopefully someone can help me with a problem that is causing many a hair to be pulled out in frustration. Only recently I have noticed that my final exported AIFF mixdown file sounds ever so slightly different from the playback I hear in the editor. My workflow is as follows: • Create new multitrack session (44100 hz, 16-bit),• Once mix is finished, Export mixdown (AIFF, 44100 hz, 16-bit),• Create new "mastering" multitrack session (44100 hz, 16-bit),• Import AIFF mixdown file to session editor, apply desired effects (eg "Mastering", "Parametric EQ" etc),• Once happy with mastering, Export mixdown (AIFF, 44100 hz, 16-bit), - This is now where I do anA/B test, and notice the inconsistencies - • Create new track in the multitrack "mastering" session editor, and change the "Output" from "Master" to "Default" (ie bypassing Master),• Import mastered mixdown AIFF to this track,• Compare this exported track to the original in-editor version by
Hello,I want to playback a track in a double speed, just like in YouTube. The track should keep its original speed, I just want to playback fast (the FF button is too fast). How can I do it?Thanks
HiUsing audition 1.5 with no problems - then had a windows update today and suddenly there is no transport controls, no playback.Example- loaded an MP3 track ok but the transport controls will not 'light up' to work thus playback also won't work.I had an update to windows 10 earlier today where problems started - I've uninstalled this but it's made no difference.Searched community and all I've found donesn't work, mainly because there is no 'prefernces' showing. Can you help? (Its probably soooo easy to correct!!!)
Hi all, Sending files to get a DCP made. They're asking for:Discrete channels of 24-bit 48 kHz Linear PCM audio (WAV) The mix will be stereo, but I'm having a hard time exporting a Left and Right channel for it. Is it as simple as switching my master channel to left and right and exporting each separately? I thought Audition would have an easy option on the mixdown export settings to get a Left and Right discrete channel, but my channel options are grayed out (stuck with "same as source"). PS I'm not an audio guy by any stretch, just a video editor. Thanks.
Hi, I am trying to edit a best mans speach, but there is a loud voice throughout. Is there a way I can remove them at all? I have seen all the noise reduction videos etc, but this is as loud as the speaker. Thanks in advance
not sure why i keep getting the detected dropped samples error in bottom right corner while recording, and sometimes during playback. sometimes it will actually make the audio cut out while recording, which is really embarassing. im running windows 10, and im using a presonus studiolive 24.4 mixing board, along with some outboard gear. what could be causing this? my computer is less then a year old and was custom built and has alot of memory ect...ive tried experimenting to see if i could pinpoint why this happens but i cant seem to find the answer.
Hi. I get the following message when I log into Adobe Audition. Hoping someone can help me make correction thank you. "Audition's primary temp volume cannot be found. Please review Audition's temp cache preferences."Tony Wright
I have Adobe Master Collection CS6 I am an aspiring drummer and would like to remove drum tracks from songs so I can practice without hearing the original drums. I do not know what program to use but assuming Audition would handle it.Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance for your time!
Let me know if I'm missing something here, but it seems truly wild to me that 'link media' isn't something that you can undo in Audition. If you select clips in a multi-track file and right click, you can link a new file to existing clips in the session. I use this a lot to try out different music beds while keeping my volume envelopes entact, for example. The problem is that it's very easy to accidentally have more than one clip selected, and because there's no warning that you're replacing the audio for multiple clips, it's easy to accidentally replace a lot of clips at once. There being no warning would be fine - but it appears that this is not an action that can be undone, which means with one small user error, an entire complicated project can be destroyed. Am I missing something here? I'm using 12.1.4.5 - is this something that was fixed in Version 13?
A simple question. I'd like to get the feel of real faders with audition so am thinking of buying something like an X-Touch. But before I spend the money, I was just wondering if I could mock up the "experience" by using MIDI control with one of my Yahama sound desks in Remote mode? I don't know the first thing about this, so do I simply connect up a pair of MIDI cables to my Focusrite sound card (IN to OUT and OUT to IN???)What else do I need to know!If I do spend some money - what would people recommend as the best unit (I dont want to spend more than £500). It would be great to have control of about 8 faders and have jog/shuttle transport controls. Many thanks in advanceMatt
I'm working on a video mix I started in premiere then moved to audition. I'm working off a Dell XPS 15 9575. Every time I pause and then play the timeline the sound output starts quiet then jumps to what I think is the real volume. The levels are consistent so I know it's not an issue there, but it's making it difficult to accurately mix the video. Has anyone had this issue or know what it could be?
I'm doing a sound edit on a video that I transferred over from premiere. For some reason, it won't let me extend the clips all the way to the end of the source audio. Why is it doing this?
All of a sudden, after pushing the record button (red at the bottom) to record, the audio isn't coming thru the mics and shown in Audition. However, the mics work for everything else. Is there something in this version of Audition that we might have accidently pushed to stop the ability to record in Audition? Hi, new to Au, imported a backing track but there is no sound. I can see the wave form but the levels dont move. have checked audio hardware. see screenshot. Any advice?
I am working with two different sound editors on one project. The first one is working in Adobe's Audition and the second in Avid's Pro Tools. How can I best convert the project from Audition to Pro Tools while still maintaining full quality?

Last night I got about half way through recording my song. When I woke up this morning to finish it, I found that the red record button and the arm track button on the audio track were both faded out and I was unable to press them. Even after messing around with the audio hardware for about an hour, switching the input back and forth from the built in input to the usb mic I have did nothing. I was told that if i rename the adobe 4.0 folder it would reset the settings; I did that to no success. How can I finish my song?? Very frusturating, please help. Thanks!
Is there a key to press to set the number of Tracks inputs to the number of hardware inputs that I have on my interface? For example, the interface I am using has 48 inputs, I would like to easliy tell Audition that track 1 is input 1, track 2 is input 2, and so on. I don't want to have to go to each track and select the input. That takes to long. I know that if I hold Shift and Ctrl and click on the Arm button it will Arm all of my track. Could someone point me in the right direction.
How can I import WMA files in Adobe Audition 13? Older versions had an option of "DLMS Format Support" but version 13 doesn't seem to have it where it is described (Media & Disk Cache.. page of Prefrernces).
Have a lot of clips with in-/out-fades in multitrack where I´d like to drag en edge to extend the clips - but keeping the same angle at the fades. So I want the fade handle to "follow along" when I drag the clip edge to extend it, in stead of staying and thus extending the fade, which now have to be adjusted in an extra operation after the trimming.Anyone who know if there is a button to hold while dragging the edge - or a workaround that minimizes the number of clicks?
I use Audition1.5 for my recording. It is older software but it has always worked perfectly for what i need. I have a Lynx two a soundcard and have been recording in multisession 2 tracks of stereo 44.1kHz 32bit audio. [Lynx input3+4 and input1+2] This was working fine till this morning. Now the multisession recording doesnt seem to be recording any audio. I have problems in edit mode too but I have a work around. I start recording the audio in another software then end that and switch back to audition and the edit mode recording works. But not multisession. Inputs are set correct. I dont know what changed since yesterday. doesnt look like there was any autoupdate installed. any troubleshooting tips? I was using audition for some data collection and would hate to not be able to use it for the rest.
Hey guys,I'm using Audition CS6- Yes already know it's an old program. No, I don't need 20 people telling me to upgraade to a subscription I don't need-What I do need however, I have an issue with breath noise in my videos. I tried the Wave Debreath and that did not work. I recently learned about noise gate- I saw something in CS6 but all the tutorials I see online are for CC. Does anyone know / remember how to apply a noise gate in CS6? Or have any other tips and ideas? Thanks a mil!JC Noise gate, CS6, Audition CS6
