Audition

Hi All,I need to give myself a crash course in Audition.  Would really appreciate some tips from the the masses on which features and functions I should focus on as I'm a little short on time.  I think my requirement is relatively simple!I have  [dj] set coming up which includes a few classics (house music).  I want to build the set and keep it moving at a certain level / pace which would be greatly helped by making some simple edits to the arrangement of the tracks, and in some cases the 'levels' of the track.So the learning requirement is how to cut and past sections of an existing MP3.  Some sections will be removed, some extended (such as an intro). And then how to tweak the base mid and treble before saving it back to MP3.Thanks in advance!

Hi.I just installed Audition CC on my MacBook Pro. Here are the specs:I'm using a Yeti USB microphone for input, system for output. I'm getting about a second of latency when trying to monitor for recording. I checked all the FAQs and support pages, played around with buffers and made sure Smart Monitoring wasn't turned on and I'm still getting a delay.I get no delay with GarageBand, even with two USB mics attached.I guess I could switch just monitor straight from the Yeti? That'd be okay, right? I'd like something a bit more flexible than GarageBand for podcasting and I was really looking forward to using a pro solution. I did search the forums, and Google, and the Adobe site, but nothing helped.Thanks!

I've got a recording where there's a repeated background ticking noise.. which is happening irregularly, but constantly. Is there a way to target this noise and remove it from the whole recording at once ? Same as with noise reduction. Otherwise the only option that comes to my mind is going trough the whole recording with the healing brush in the frequency view and remove it manually. Which will probably take hours though...

I am selecting areas in the Spectral Frequency Displa, mid Frequency and would like to slide selection over into place without having my mouse (Windows) move my selection up or down. Is there a way to slide the selection over, locking its horizontal frequency position?lets say make a selection from 3.6 kHZ to 1 kHz and want to drop it into same frequency range at a different time, but my mouse lifts or lowers selection slightly while dragging over. Sometime like tracing the sound I want to repair, move selection to good portion of Spectral visualization, copy, move selection back, and paste. Or just copy from good position, and paste over bad. yes, I can just move playhead and paste off of playhead position. I can also select from bottom or top of Frequency display and slide over with mouse and use bottom or top selection as anchor point while I slide. But is there a way to select in middle of spectral display and slide selection over horizontally without lifting or lowering?

I have a question about degraded audio moving from the original recording to a multitrack session. I have a WAV file voice recording I made on a Zoom H5 (sample rate 44100, bit depth: 32). The audio is clear and clean during Audition playback as a waveform, but when I bring it into a multitrack session using the Audition Podcast template, the audio deteriorates (e.g. breath and other artifacts accentuated). Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Got many questions after watching Adobe's how-to podcast intro (How to Make Your Own Podcast using Audition CC | Adobe Creative Cloud - YouTube ). I'm seriously considering buying a 1-yr subscription, if not a monthly to try it out. I'll ask all my questions here, but if there's someplace else I should post these, let me know. All these questions are based on my unfortunate experience w/ Pro Tools (getting rid it!).I have used Adobe Audition 3.0 extensively, but need to upgrade as support for it has disappeared for many years now.For podcasts:1. Are you able to use previously produced wav files recorded at 44.1/16 bit, and bring those into a session where I have a spoken voice recording at 48/24 bit, without having to up-sample the 16 bit files? (Pro Tools forces you to use all files at same sampling and bit rates.)2. Can you switch between edit and multi-track modes to edit specific tracks with surgical precision? (Adobe Audition 3.0 allows this.) Thus, I'd be using plugins for noise

Can you recommend an engineer in L/A. who is adept in Audition?

First of all, it's funny how many post on this forum are about how to USE and ENABLE noise reduction. But my case is quite the opposite.I just made some recordings using my NI KOMPLETE Audio 6 interface and a good Sony condenser microphone.First I wondered about how there was almost no noise in the silent parts. I know that even though the mike is good, it still has a some audible noise, or you could hear at least some ambient noise.Then I took a look at the spectral display. There were "dark bands" that consisted through the whole recording, looking like there were frequency notches, one at 2.6kHz and one at about 6.1 kHz. The screenshot only shows a small portion, these notches are on every recording, regardless of the audio source. And everything above 8khz was cut-off almost completely (Yes, the recording is set at 48.000 Hz) but there you can see a tiny little spike above 8khz on the frequency analyzer.And after all, when listened to closely, you could hear those typical "noise re

I'm adding reverb to the last note of a music piece using a process I've followed before, laid out here: End Music Cuts with Natural Reverb — PremiumBeatNo matter what settings I choose, the resulting audio is heavily distorted during the fade-out. I have done this successfully with this same track before, but now it's adding what sounds like static to the fade-out instead of the intended reverb. Why is this happening? How do I get it to not happen?

I just discovered some large Audion temp while using WinDirStat.  Three files at 3.8Gb and a forth at 250Mb all dated a few days ago on 18th Feb.  I only occasionally use Audition, and on that day it was to convert several .M4B audiobook files to MP3.  As far as I can remember, Audition and computer were shut down normally after that session.This isn't a problem. I should be getting a newly built computer this week with a 500Gb boot drive (because the Samsung 960PRO doesn't have a 250Gb version) and the system will have 32Tb over 16 drives in total, but I'd like to know if these temp files can be deleted. I suspect there is an option to relocate Audion cache files the same as with other CC applications, and I plan to knuckle down and complete a Lynda.com series or two on Audition when the new computer is set up.  If I manage to discipline myself into keeping that promise (at the expense of using the Adobe forums in general) then I have no doubt I shall be bothering

This is a joint question with Premiere, I guess. On my system there is a HUGE difference in output volume when I switch between Audition and Premiere and many other apps. Audition is nearly twice the volume on the exact same file. Meters read the same in both apps, but output from the speakers is radically different. I am unaware of a way to adjust this in either program. In past releases I remember a slight difference in level, but this is very radical. Audition seems to be "loud" even compared to other software I use.Anyone know of a way to adjust this?

I have a MacBook Pro and use an external monitor. Perhaps it was because the last time I used Audition I had a much larger external, but now, with my smaller external, the Audition screen is pushed up and left too far and I can grab the top and to drag it into position. I can pull out the external, whereupon Audition fits nicely on my Mac, but even when made small, when I plug the external in, Audition resumes its original position. The View and Window menus don't provide for a solution.  I am going through some plist files but it's taking forever . . . any ideas where the screen coordinates are located?Adobe should provide for a menu option that pulls it into a usable position.

I'm hoping to get some assistance on this.  I've had no luck with Adobe support on this.We would like to internally use Adobe Audition to create Audio content. And then we would like to redistribute the created Audio content (PCM) as a part of the current QACT.WIN.7.1 Tool Product on Createpoint and future QACT Tool Products.We do not want to redistribute or embed Adobe Audition in the QACT.WIN.7.1 Tool Product.Is this something that we would be permitted to do with Adobe Audition CC?

This is the first time we've encountered this, so I'm not sure how to go about describing the problem or fixing it.In summary:  we received an audio file from our presenter, and the audio has a lot of corruption throughout. I don't know the right words to describe all the issues, but there's crackles and pops, and also big portions of what sounds like electric interference or buzzing, combined with a high pitched tone.The presenter records into a H1 Zoom Mic with SD Card. Then transfers the file from there to her pc, and from there to a file host where we pull it down.We've tested the file on two different machines, and asked the presenter to re-transfer and re-upload the file, but without any change. Another growing pains question moving form 3.0 to CC 2018 - I'm grown accustom to quickly accessing effects with a click of a little graphical button in a horizontal toolbar across the top. My most common quick-access requirements wire the different EQ options buttons, the "dynamics" button for launching the compression options, and noise reduction. I also used things like Zero Crossing, Save As, Save Selection As, and several other buttons. The pictures on these little buttons are so familiar to me and are a part of the way I work.Is there a way to get those little buttons back? If not, how can I set up quick access to these effects and operations so I don't have to go to the menu, choose the dropdown, browse my choices and click a text-based action?Thanks!

The title of the discussion pretty much says it all with the exception of, I am using a dual Xeon Quad core configuration with 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD so I would not think it is a lack of resources or processor issue.I did not have this problem when I was using CS6. I have a multitrack session containing audio tracks from a video interview I have mastered.  1h 50mins duration.  Native session sample rate is 96000Hz.  Trying to export to premiere pro with each track as a stem.  (There are three tracks in the session mix.)  If I change the sample rate in the Export to Premiere Pro window to 48000Hz and Export each track as stem, it processes the export without error, however the exported stems are incomplete.  Each stem file is cut off at same place at about 49 minutes and midway through one of the clips.  I see this when I open one of the stems in Audition.When I import the stems into Premiere Pro, it shows the full duration audio file in sequence, but the part that is missing starting at about 49 minutes is shown with diagonal lines.If I Export to Premiere Pro and don't change the sample rate (leave at 96000Hz), the full duration stems export without any issues.I want to keep the session at 96000Hz but export the

Long-time AA 3.0 user struggling with CC 2018 version. I highlighted a section of audio (in Waveform view), opened 20 band Graphic EQ, found the correct frequencies to lower using the audition feature, and clicked "Apply." But nothing happened!Do I have to do something extra or differently (from 3.0) to make the EQ actually apply to the audio I have highlighted/selected?Thanks.

I have been using Adobe Audition 3.0 every day for years. I just decided I needed to get the latest version so I singed up for the CC 2018 version. My workflow was so established in 3.0 that I'm feeling quite lost. I imagine I'll have a lot of questions in the coming days/weeks. But for now, my main question is:Is there a way to import my "Favorites" from 3.0? I had several preset EQ settings. I could re-create them. But importing would be faster. Is this possible?Thanks!

I'm no pro when it comes to audio but I am trying to improve my videos all the time. One of the things I'm struggling with is balancing the same audio level across my entire video (15 mins long). The sources in this instance come from two distinct mics. One is a Rode Video Mic Pro, and therefore directional and mono, and the other is a waterproof camera that records in stereo. My video is broken up into two halves (Rode on the first half and waterproof camera on the right). Most is speech with some music in the first half. (I don't normally export the audio as one clip but have done so to make a point.)I tend to set my speech to -3db and music to -6 to -10. I know this is quite high and that's a bad habit I need to get out of, but that's not the issue. The issue is that in Premiere Pro I normalise all peaks in speech clips to -3 but obviously the stereo mic has more peaks due to spacial noise and therefore sounds louder.My question is: what filters/effects should I consider using in Au

I have a stereo audio track which I have pulled from an AVI file in prem pro. The left channel has voice from a radio mic while the right channel is the camera mic with general audio. I need to seperate the two channels so I can use the voice audio when its needed. So my question is how do u do this? I'm a beginner user of AA though I have owned veris versions for some years, just never had the time to get right into it until now. I've have spent the last couple of days digging through help menus and manuals trying to solve this problem. Usually I'd use hardware to do a work around but I figured I might as well start using the software. Any help would be appreciated... Sorry if this is a silly noob question.

Hi, hopefully I can find some help here as I can't seem to find an answer through googling.I'm starting a podcast and thought I would use Audition as my recording software seeing as it comes as part of the Suite. I'm 100% brand new to it but have been able to figure out a bit from going through the forums and what not. My issue is that the audio output seems to be corrupted from my microphone. I have a Rode VideoMic Pro that I've grabbed off my camera and I know it is working for input as I can see the waveform but, when I playback or export, the audio seems to be corrupted. I think I'm missing a setting or driver somewhere because I can record just fine in Audacity with WASAPI. In Audition, I have to change to MME for it to work, but having lower latency seems to be a good idea so I'd like to be able to record using WASAPI here as well.
