Audition

I'm new to Audition CC so apologies for the basic question. I originally asked this in the Premiere Pro forum but I think it's more an Audition question..  I have AVCHD home video (MTS video with AC3 stereo audio) and have found I can clean up the audio, for example in speeches, very well in Audition. Is there a way to just replace the MTS's orginal audio track without re-encoding the video (which it seems I have to, if I do this via Premiere Pro)? In some cases the videos are poorly lit and any re-encoding makes them look noticeably worse than the original. In any event the video does not need re-encoding, I just need to replace the audio. Maybe I need to export the cleaned-up audio from Audition and use some other program to replace the audio in the original MTS file? Is that called re-muxing?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,I am well aware that it is best practice to have good audio with no noise in the first place, however, I have a video that cannot be retaken and the sound is very clear but there is some noise from the microphone and clothing. I really need to just do the best job I can with the video and audio that I have.I have audition but the noise is intermittent and it is difficult. I know it has been removed in CS5.5 but is there any way to get it back?I have some old wma audio clips which I'm forced to use.It's ok to remove export to wma ability but reading support for many different formats is always good to have.Is there some plugin to read wma in CS5.5 or a way to copy/paste wma import support files from Audition 3?

I am about to start the re-edit of a complicated hour documentary because I apparently trashed the .sesx file by mistake and then diligently did my regular backup on my external which erased the .sesx over there.  Having recently switched to Adobe from APPLE, I looked for the Final Cut Pro auto-emergency-save-backup-every-five-minutes-because-the-editor-is-an-idiot option but, alas, I have learned that does not exist in Audition.  I have now added the step export-session-with-copied-all-media-ticked option at the end of every work day.  This is a rookie welcome-to-Adobe mistake, yes?  Is there some secret temporary stash of .sesx files that does not show up in a search?

Hello all,I did a mix for a client in Audition. The editor tells me that the sound is drifting out of sync. It seems that the video was shot at 24 fps but the sound was recorded at 23.98. Is there any way I can adjust my audio so it can sync with 24fps video? The editor is working in Final Cut 7.

I'm using a Roland UA-3FX interface with Audition 5.5 on windows 7.If I load in a drum loop on one track and then record some bass on another track (monitoring direct though my interface), the recorded bass is slightly but noticably delayed from the drums. As I understand it, the ASIO driver and Audition, between them, should be working out any latency and compensating for it.Any settings I can fiddle with? Can't find anything. I did try using the ASIO4All driver which does have adjustable latency compensation in its settings, but this either wasn't enough or didn't do anything at all (not sure which!)If it's an issue with the driver for the UA-3FX, can anyone else recommend a good small interface which can record in time?it's a shame 'cos the UA-3FX actually sounds great. I haven't experienced this for myself, but apparently as of December 13th 2012 the activation service for Audition 3 and some other products has been disabled because of a security issue. So if you need to uninstall and reinstall Audition 3 you will have to follow the instructions on this page. [sept 2019 - Audition isn't available here any more - see below. This FAQ is only for reference now.]   It's important to note that the software you may have on a disk won't work any more - you have to use the version on the download page, and the serial number provided with it; no other combination will work.   If there are any other issues with this, please post comments on the appropriate forum.   Important update: Audition 3 isn't available any more. Upon advice from their legal team that we are not allowed to discuss the reasons for, Adobe have withdrawn any software downloads for almost all products other than the current version of them, or its -1. 

I have had no other issues with CC products apart from this. I have Adobe CS5.5 installed, is this the reason why it wont start?Thanks.

Hi Folks, I'm hoping you can help me. One of my instructors recorded a full e-Learning class on a Blue Yeti. Later, we found that the microphone was having issues. The problem is she put a couple of days of work into it. Here's a WAV snippetIt has a very underwater "tin room" sound to it. I'm wondering if anyone can offer advice to make it sound... well, passable. It doesn't have to be perfect. I have a little bit of experience with sound programs, but am still a beginner, so please take it easy on me. Any help would be super appreciated.

I, like many Audition users were disappointed to see many features stripped away when Audition 3 moved on to CS5.5. I was particularly frustrated that the convolution and vocoder effects were removed will these return in CS6? They are particularly useful tools for sound design (which is what I do), especially when creating transitions from one sound to another. I also thought the 'Generate..' effects were a major oversight, though I see a new version of 'generate tones' is to be in CS6, but what about 'Generate Noise'. Is it possible to have a full list of effects in CS6?

i dont like harsh upper tones, or even kinda loud uppers.They are not peaked.  I'd just like upper tones to sound likethey are farther away, yet remain brilliant or clean, not compressed or muffled.  What is a strategy for this please?thanks anyone

I just got a new computer at home loaded with Windows 7.  I downloaded Audition 3 earlier this week and I am having trouble figuring out how to record audio from the internet (say a youtube video) into Audition.  Keep in mind, this is a home computer.  I don't have a  mixing board set up here at the house.  Any advice?  Could this be an "unfixable problem?"  I have heard that Windows 7 makes this kind of recording virtually impossible in order to avoid copyright infringement.

I have a song (background tracks only (no vocals)) that I'd love to have in a lower key. It's for a production and the singers need it in a lower key as its just out of their comfortable range. Is there any way to do this easily using Audition that will leave the song sounding good and not hopefully not like it was digitally altered?  Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone knows how to get CD track markers to convert to CD tracks in Audition CS6. For years I've used Audition 3 and was able to put CD track markers into an audio file in Edit view, and then right click on the file, select "Insert into CD List" and have a complete list show up in the CD view. From there I could select "Write CD" and create a disc. Now, with Audition CS6 I'm able to put in the CD track markers, and can even see them in the markers list as CD track markers, but when I go to the CD Editor view only the entire audio file appears. So I was wondering how I get the markers to appear in the CD Editor view in the same way they would show up in the CD view in Audition 3. I'm hoping someone has an answer to this as I haven't been able to find anything about it in the help files or on these forums. Thanks.

I'm currently trying to record my first song with CS6. I used Cool edit before and people have told me that AA's way better.However I have many questoins regarding recording effects. Here are my questions.1. How to use Auto-tune in CS6? 2. How to lower the pitch of one instrumental without changing much of its quality?  I'd like to lower the pitch, record my voice, then increase the pitch of my voice to where the instrumental was originally. (I am trying to remix a song with Chris Brown on the hook so it is killing me)3. What is the normal procedure of improving the vocal effects after recording? Like some kind of effect that makes your voice sound professional. (I usually make rap songs and sing sometimes, so what are the effects we should use?)Pardon me if my questions are too simple. English is not my 1st language and I don't really understand all the terminologies in CS6.Thanks guys.

I have been using Audtion for almost 10 years.  I have installed Audition on a new desktop.  The message appears:  "The audio input is not activated.  Recording audio is not possible.  Check your audio input configuration."  I have configured the audio from the control panel.  A test reveals that it is picking up on the audio input.  In Audition when I open the equipment set up, it does not recognize any inputs at all.  Do I just need another type of sound card?  Help.

I purchased Adobe Audition 3.0 a couple of months back for my Windows 7 laptop and overall I enjoy it. When it works, it works great. However, I have encountered a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error" at least three time which prevents me from being able to continue with a session. The latest occurence seems to have been triggered by my machine going into sleep mode. I have the laptop set to never go into sleep mode while open because if it does while I have a session up, the playback glitches when I come back to resume the session, BUT, a relative saw my open laptop and thought I accidentally left it open and closed it. Sure enough, the playback went wonky so I saved the session and closed it out. When I re-opened the session and pressed play in multi-track view I got the runtime error message and the program shut down. I can't continue using Audition if I can't fix this problem. Hi there,Will CS6 allow users to have tempo changes in sessions?  This is a very common feature that has been missing in Audition but is offered by ever other DAW out there.Cheers.

This is a pesky one.  I recently upgraded from Audition CS5.5 to Audition 6 and uninstalled CS5.5.  Since I did that, however, the .sesx file association in my computer has been lost.  When I try to reassign .sesx to Audition, the computer defaults to Adobe Acrobat to attempt to open an .sesx file, even when I specifically navigate to the Audition folder and indicate Audition as the default program to open .sesx.I realize the first and most obvious step is to simply reinstall Audition CS6, but there were difficulties activating the software.  I was upgrading just Audition out of the entire Creative Suite CS5.5 package, as it was the only software I NEEDED to upgrade (for some reason Audition CS5.5 caused me nothing but problems, but CS6 is infinitely more stable on my system, and none of the other CS6 software had features that justified a $500 upgrade).  So I had to contact support and they had to give me a support code and all of these hoops had to be jumped

Peak files - ones with .pk and .pkf extensions - are files that Audition creates upon first opening an audio file, and they contain information about the way it's displayed on the screen. After you've worked on a file, saving the peak data as well as the file means that the next time Audition opens it, it can do so a lot faster - simply because it doesn't have to create all that visual data again.By default, Audition saves peak files automatically for wav files, but it can't create them for other types. The reason for this is that it doesn't need them for those file types, as they can't be opened natively in Audition anyway; they have to be decoded into wav files first.The difference between older .pk files and newer .pkf files (the ones that Audition CS5.5 uses) is that the .pkf ones contain Floating Point data.
