Bridge

Bridge allows saving and applying metadata templates but it can be a bit fiddly as you must be showing the Metadata panel and have to hit small submenus. This script puts a popup menu in the bottom navbar which lets you apply templates much more easily. I wrote this for my own use and am releasing it as a demo here. Save this script as PLAIN TEXT with ".jsx" file extension and place in the Bridge Scripts folder. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can stop it? I use bridge to select my best images for editing but it's taking me so much longer becase there can sometimes be 10 of the same photo showing up after I open the folder in Bridge? In the original folder when I open it in the finder it only has 1 of each image obviously so just not sure why this is happening! Screenshot attached

I can't figure out where I'm wrong in the settings, before it didn't do this.before loading raw photos was smooth, now I have to wait for it to load a preview.I set "prefer embedded" I have a fast USB-C external hard drive, a MacBook Pro M1

Any possibility of a return of wordwrap functionality when typing text in fields that have  traditionally always  had this functionality in the past, such as IPTC Document Title and Headline, etc.?    I would also suggest the return of single click highlighting of the text in a particular metadata field for the purpose cutting amd pasting.  This would improve performance greatly for those of who deal with lots of metadata.  ps.  I am otherwise very happy with Brideg 14.1      🙂 

"I don't see any cloud files in Bridge. Do I need to configure something for that?"

Looking for advice.  I have certain folders with 3,500+ family photos/videos and growing. Keywords and smart collections are great for organizing, but wondering how others handle this?  Is there an advantage to keeping folders below a certain number of files?  Is it time to start a "continuation" folder?  I recall years ago Picasa would set a limit to 1000 files in a folder I believe?  (perhaps that was just for cloud storage purposes...) Mind you, my question isn't pertaining to cloud storage (I'm using dropbox to keep these photos synced in the cloud--not Adobe Cloud), i'm wondering more about the performance of Bridge loading/indexing/generating previews, etc.?  Any thoughts?

Since Prelude was discontinued, Bridge has normally worked fine for scanning and importing video clips.   Many have reported HIGH CPU usage, I'm having the opposite problem.   I have reset settings, uninstalled & reinstalled bridge...all the regular protocol seen anywhere in blogs.   0% CPU, 0% Previews.  Anyone know what I am doing wrong?     

Truly annoying behavior - attempting to single click images immediately opens them in Photoshop  - HELP! I only want to open in another app if I double click - I am single clicking all the time...

I'm running Creative Cloud on Monteray (12.7.1)  on Mac. The latest version of Bridge is not previewing Vector files, just showing the AI icon.I have checked my Security and Privacy permissions and reset the Bridge preferences.Any other suggestions?

I wanted to find a particular photo of our fire place - or is that fireplace? Not sure how I spelled it, I did an all metadata serach containing fire.  Wow!  I got hundreds of results that have absolutely nothing to do with fire.  I read all the metadata and couldn't find anything that came close to fire.Why is this?  What can I do to get more accurate search results?

In Bridge I used to see "open in camera raw" as an option for tiff files and now this is no longer an option. It only shows for JPEG and RAW files now. I tried checking my file type associations and they are set for tiff the same as JPEGS and RAW but still won't open in Camera Raw. Can someone please help? I want to open my Tiff files in Camera Raw so I can use the "Enhance" feature.

Is there some sneaky way for smart collections to dictate Bridge to only watch directories I specify? Let's say I want to target folder1 and subfolder4.1 and skip all matches from any other folder.  rootfolder1folder2subfolder2.1folder3folder4subfolder4.1   

My Color Settings in Bridge keep reverting back to North America General Purpose 2 (which I believe is the default) Our company uses GRACoL_Coated1_AdobeRGB. I never had this issue until I updated my Photoshop, Illustrator and XD. I noticed that anytime I go from using Photoshop to Illustator is when the Color Settings change.

Wir erstellen für unsere Kunden des öfteren Kontaktbögen mit mehreren Bildern. Für das Erstellen der Kontaktbögen werden der Einfachheit halber die Rohdaten verwendet (Canon .cr2). Heute ist uns aufgefallen, dass die PDFs mit der Bridge 2023 deutlich größer sind als die PDFs mit der Bridge 2022.Komischerweise sind die PDFs mit Bridge 2023 selbst zwischen verschiedenen Geräten unterschiedlich groß. Ich habe vorhin ein paar Tests durchgeführt, hier die Ergebnisse: MacBook1, Bridge 2022: 7,5 MBMacBook2, Bridge 2022: 7,5 MBMacBook2, Bridge 2023: 108,9 MBMacPro, Bridge 2022: 7,5 MBMacPro, Bridge 2023: 31,5 MB An diesem Test ist zu sehen, die Dateigrößen der Bridge 2022 sind immer konstant, allerdings sind die Dateigrößen der Bridge 2023 um einiges größer und von Gerät zu Gerät unterschiedlich.Die Ausgabeei

We have 3 new windows 11 computers all running the same software programs, one computer when running Bridge will not work correctly when using filter, ratings to flat 1,2 ,3, 4 or 5. You think it has worked sometimes as it may flag 4 out 20 but most time just not working. We have removed and re-installed the software updated from 2023 to 2024??? pulling my hair out to find the fix??? 

It seems like a bug or somtething wrong with the system. 

Hi,  I am wondering why Bridge has not been performing properly?  I can barely use the program it's so slow, I am using it to view RAW photographs. I have purged the cache for the individual folder, purged the central Bridge cache, reset preferences to factory, purged the cache in 'Go' - "Library' - 'Cache'...  and nothing seems to improve the performance? I have 8gb of RAm on my macbook air, running OSx 10.9.5, with 70GB spare on my 500gb hardrive.  I store all my photos on external hardrives.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

With the latest Adobe updates, it is impossible to simply drag and drop photos or files from Bridge folders to the Trash can. I can only do it now from the drop down File menu.

Suddenly Bridge doesn't show me my tiff's anymore but it shows Jpg 

Hi,Is it normal that Bridge does not remember the file formats pinned in the filter tab of the library when I restart the program?

Hi Adobe Community, I have been using Bridge for the last 3-4 years to cull my images before opening in Lightroom/Ps. For some reason after my latest update, the culling process has been glitchy and once I mark my images as a '5 star' they don't mark and then I cannot filter them out. Please someone advise. It used to be when I select photos and rename (cmnd + shift + R) the Rename box would pop up with the first text option already highlighed and I would hit tab tab to get to my desired text box and rename the photo and then select more photos and do the same. Been doing it this way for 8+ years and my muscle memory is ingrained in my workflow.  Now, I select photos and open the rename screen and the JUST the 'rename' button is highlighted and in order to get to my desired text box it would take 11 tab hits because it cycles through every single option on the screen starting from the top down. Including the + and - signs next to the text box. This is throwing me way off and I can't figure out how to fix it. iMac running Ventura 13.6.1 and Bridge 14.0 Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
