I loaded CC 2019, LR Classic, and Bridge 2019 a week ago and a problem has developed with opening photos from Bridge thumbnails. An example is that .jpgs now open in Photos, not CC 2019. I've read several of the Bridge forum posts, and actually followed the advice in a couple of these, resetting registry for files to Photoshop.20, but nothing has changed. (And which I may have to undo?) There may be a deeper problem, in that when I right-click on a thumbnail in Bridge there is no option to "Open in Photoshop." I've considered setting everything to default in Bridge, but looking through the Preferences I'm not certain that would correct the current problem. Not certain of this, but the problem seems to have started when I re-downloaded Photolab 2 from DXO, not that I ever use it, but I had to buy it to get the updated version of NIK software. 😞 Thanks for your time,Bruce B
any ideas why bridge will not open on my computer? it's installed... ps opens just fine, i tried opening it from ps too... and have uninstalled,, restarted computer and reinstalled...
After I batch rename my files the file type changes from "JPEG file" to "jpg)". Once it does this and I go back to the files I cannot open them. Why is this and can I get them back?
I am a wedding photographer and I have used Bridge to cull all my photos for many years. I recently updated to Adobe Bridge 2019 and in the previous versions of Bridge if I hit the label button "CTRL + 7" to label it would label. If I wanted to remove the label I would hit "CTRL + 7" again and it would unlabel. Now for some reason I cant unlabel things I have labeled unless I manually do it from the top left menu bar. I have set the labels in the preferences to use the CTRL + function but still I cant unlabel.
Referencing Bridge 2019. I may have overlooked something obvious all this time, but please tell me, is it possible to anchor the Favorites/Folders Panel so it does not constantly move and adjust left to right as folders are opened and closed? It is frustrating to constantly have to toggle the bottom scroll bar back and forth to view the folder strucure. Help appreciated.
Hi- upgraded to Bridge CS3 2.0.0975 and when I select a folder, there's no "file path" (or source path to where it originates) displayed like the older Bridge versions. The path to a file or folder's source was usually at the top. Thank you, Joe [Moved from generic Start/Help forum to the specific Program forum... Upgraded to Bridge CS3 2.0.0975 and now I can't find how to view files in "List View" mode. The only options are "As Thumbnails" and "As Details". What happened to the useful and convenient controls at the bottom of the window? Can we get that back?Thank you,Joe
I have started adding keywords to my pictures using Adobe Bridge [because Windows won't tag my Canon .cr2 raw files] and the keywords are save as a separate .xmp file. Can I embed keywords in the metadata of the file rather than as a separate .xmp file? Thanks.
Thanks for the info everyone, but none of it worked for me. Referring to this thread:Can't choose cache folder in Bridge CS6 on a different drive/partition I could not post in that thread as I originally intended to.What did work for both Bridge CS6 and Bridge CC 2018 was to directly edit the registry on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit PC using REGEDIT.EXE.Under registry key Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Preferences, the key CacheDirectory, type SZ, was missing. I added this key with a value "J:\Adobe_Bridge-CS6_Cache" which is where my cache files are stored. The key was missing. In the same key under Bridge CC 2018, this key had reverted to the Users\User folder.Having done these two simple registry edits, both versions of Bridge recognised the locations, and can now "see" all the other disks on this PC.Both of these programs had been working perfectly (using my non-standard cache locations) until I reconfigured my largest data drive. This involved changing a 3TB MBR par
Example: I have a folder called Alaska Cruise. In that folder I have subfolders that were divided by each port of call we visited on the cruise. I had put a star label by some of the photos in each of the folders that were really important so I could sort and only view those photos. Today, when I opened the individual folder, I saw the rating disappear and I don't know how to get them back.
I Have just updated my Mac, And now it seems like my Bridge isnt working. I open bridge and It wont registar any files. Nothing on my computer or hard drives.. Any one know what I can do?,
I have windows 10My updates are currentThe Find command did work one day and the next it didn't.I reinstalled bridge and it still doesn't work.I asked this about this problem before, but I got no response
While it is possible to select which metadata should be visible both in list view and thumbnail view in the content panel, only a small subset of metadata values are available. Is there any way to extend the available options to allow showing other metadata values?
Batch renaming of jpgs in bridge has stopped working. I have deleted and recreated the process but nothing is happening. Is anyone else having issues?
I´m using CC2019, fully updated, OS X Catalina, and ios 13 on ipad mini 4, ipad pro. When Photo downloader opens in Bridge, there are no valid files on neither of these i pads. I just did a reset on Bridge prefs, and still no joy. The images show up just fine on Apples native new Images-app ( Bilder in Swedish) but I want to continue to use PDEdit:My iPhone 6 ( iOS 12) seems to work today, anyhow. (edit: No, the iPhone transfer doesn´t work today, 22/10)
I can see a LOT of metadata when I open an individual file and go to File-> File Information; then go to Raw Data, then copy and paste the XML there, THEN use an XML Parser (or Excel) to look at the file in an easier to read way.HOWEVER, almost everything I see there can be seen in Bridge also.I say "almost" because what I REALLY want to see there I cannot. Specifically, I need to see the Save Information. When it was saved/modified. I can see it in the XML parser, but opening 150 files, waiting for the Link Update and Font errors, then going to the File Menu, etc..... just to see each XML data, even in the XML parser isn't NEARLY as nice as the regular metadata I can see in views with Bridge.Trying to find information on ANY website about easily viewing "save" metadata in particular is misleading at best, due to the keyword being in literally every person's question about anything. Please help. I need to do this because of a contractor's hours, and we're trying to figure out forensi
A client gave me 500+ RAW files on a thumb drive, instructing he'd "flagged" (starred) the 60+ files I was to edit in Bridge. I dragged the containing folder to my PC from the thumb drive using Windows Explorer, to two locations for surety, and opened in Bridge. Upon checking, there were no ratings on any file in either folder! I generally uncheck "show hidden files" but I for this issue I checked it and viola no xmp files. I presume he flagged (starred) the choices, and lost the xmps moving the files to the thumb drive. Doing some testing I reasserted that if you simply drag the files outside Bridge, you lose the sidecar xmp files, at least via Windows Explorer. Done inside Bridge, all is well. I need to reassure my client that I did not screw up these files, without causing any bad relations telling him he really does not know how to use his software. I expect him to report soon, "I just looked at my copies, and yes I flagged those files!" inferring it is my mistake. So I a
macOS Sierra 10.12.3Adobe Bridge CC (2017)iPhone 6When I open Photo Downloader, it recognizes my iPhone but claims there are no valid files for importing on my phone. Any ideas?
Anybody know a way to change the files' font size in the Content Area? I'd like to make each photo's filename larger.
3 years ago I moved to CC 2017 and Bridge. No problems with either during over 1000+ hours of use. Last July (2019) I built a new workstation. Installed the latest vesion of Photoshop (currently 20.0.6) and Bridge (currently 9.1.0.338). My OS is Win 10 1809 (OS build 17763.805).During the last 3 months I have easily accumulated several hundred hours of usage. To date, Photoshop has not crashed once. Until 2 days ago the same with Bridge. Now Bridge is unstable. It freezes or crashes. When I view images in Filmstrip they disappear within 1 minute or less. The images in Content remain (assuming that the program did not freeze or crash). If I switch to Essentials and select an image it appears in Preview. Again for only about a minute. These problems exist even when no other programs including Photoshop are open. This morning I uninstalled Bridge. Shut down the computer, rebooted, and reinstalled Bridge. Same problems.Prior to this issue which began 2 days ago no new programs or updates were
Bridge CC 8.1.0.383 x64 does not display sub folders contents. Says No Sub folders when there is. This is new my bridge 6 shows fine. {Thread renamed by moderator}
HelloI have a problem to view photos. The folder displays a padlock. Can you give me a solution. Thanks for your help.
I have a MacBook Pro with the new Catalina (the recent update) since then I am unable to open files which are on a different hard drive. I would like to be able to open them on Bridge and wotk on them off line. Please advise. Moved from Get Started to Bridge by moderator.
I use Bridge to import camera trap pics because it is many times faster than anything else incl Lightroom. I cannot figure out how to retain the actual time order/sequence of the images when I rename them on import. I rename them with a <custom text+date+sequence#> system. Bridge Downloader appears to number them in this order: first picture from the last day, 2nd pic from last day etc., then 1st picture from the previous day, etc., ending with the pictures from the first day. So the first number is the first pic from the last day and last pic number is the last picture from the first day. I know I can easily rename them in Br or Lr, or choose to use orig file name instead of sequence on the rename, but there seems like this should be an easy thing to do in Downloader. HELP!
I use Adobe Bridge all the time at work to search for files through our servers and all of a sudden the "find" window disappeared and even when I click Edit > Find... "Find" is grayed out and I cannot select it. I'm sure there is a simple fix to this and I cannot figure it out?? Help! [Moved from generic Start/Help forum to the specific Program forum...
