Ae uninstalls almost everytime I turn my computer on and off or will break constantly whilst app or even just PC is in use causing me to need to uninstall and reinstall Ae and the media encoder. I've been making stuff in Ae almost all day and have had to uninstall and reinstall 3 times.  This is a problem that has persited since I used the free trial and madfe me consider cancelling. Thought it might get better it hasn't but now I'm too invested in this software lol.

You have t initiate import twice from the menu to be able to select a file. This bugs been around for at least 6 months now, I thought it would be fixed by now. I have a project open, I go to the menu, select 'import' and nothing. Donitcadsin and get the Finder select screen. Anyone else seeing this?

Using an Adjustment Layer to distort underlying layers, e.g. Position and Skew (Screenshot 1), when rendered to RGBA with a Straight alpha, shows a strange behaviour in the RGB channels: both the original and the distorted underlying graphics are included (Screenshot 2). Bonjour, Je travaille sur After Effects 25.3.2 (Build 2) sur Mac OS Sequoia 15.5 avec un Mac Studio M1 Max 32Go de mémoire et j'ai actuellement environ 260Go d'espace disque disponible en SSD. Depuis quelques mois j'ai systématiquement la même erreur lorsque je tente un remplissage d'après contenu en créant un masque en mode soustraction :"After Effects (erreur) : impossible d'importer le fichier "000000" - les fichiers de type fGNP ne peuvent être utilisés comme séquences."  C'est une erreur que je n'ai jamais eu avant. Auriez-vous une solution à ce bug, c'est un outil que j'utilise très régulièrement dans mon travail ? Merci

Hi, i've been encounetring this issue where every time I type a certain letter in the effects and presets panel such as E, I, T, R, S, and the list goes on, the panel goes black on the first letter, and if I keep on typing, the presets and effects appear, but i am unable to click or use them. I later found out that it is because of bugged plug-ins, or because of too many presets in the user presets or presets folder. I tried to make many folders, but I have too many presets (5gb) and I even did, but the problem keeps on occouring. I found out that I can add a maximum of 30 folders into User Presets, If I add one more, the glitch happens, but if I don't, it works perfectly fine. Please help me as it is getting hard to such for presets and hard to use this app. I asked many of my editing collegues about this and suprisingly a lot of them had the same problem. I get the "unable to start properly" error (on the photo it's in Polish) since I updated After Effects. List of things I already did:- upgraded motherboard- (%windir%\system32\.dll) do regsvr32.exe /s %i, for %i in (%windir%\system32\.ocx), regsvr32.exe /s % and sfc/scannow in command prompt- found broken dll files via process monitor, deleted them and downloaded missing components with DirectX- turned on .NET framework in Windows features- reinstalled Visual C- set LoadAppInnit DLLs to 0 in registery editor- when I run compatibility troubleshooter in properties, it doesn't find After Effects in the app list, but it does find Adobe Creative Cloud- updated graphic card driver-reinstalled After Effects and Creative Cloud after using the Adobe Creative Cleaner tool My specs:AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core Processor (3.80 GHz)NVIDA GeForxe RTX 5070GigaByte B850 EAGLE WIFI6EI have 32 RAM Anything else I could try?

In a series of videos I'm working on I have encountered two colouring-based issues that I cannot figure out the solution to. I'm detailing both of them in this post because I believe they might be related but it's possible they're not. It might have something to do with how I'm importing the files? Issue #1: In one video I am unable to get the outlines of a specific asset to be pure black. (All visual assets I use for my videos are made in / imported from adobe illustrator.) When I started making this video, I was stupid and wanted the lines to be dark grey for some reason. When I eventually decieded to make the lines pure black I simply changed them in the adobe illustrator files and that change carried over to the aftereffects file for all but one asset. I tried importing new copies of this file, and even rebuilding the asset in a different adobe illutrator file and importing that too, but the lines were still obviously grey. I'm having a problem with the After 2025 version and also with the latest beta version of After 2025. When adding a video to the project, after a certain amount of time, After crashes. I can't find the space and see the preview of the video. When saving, it crashes with the file saving pop-up. I need to force close it and open it again. After a certain amount of time, it gives the same problem again.Note: whether or not you import a PSD, it gives the error. When you open After and import only the video file, it gives the problem.I didn't have this problem in After 2024.I currently use a Mac with macOS Sequoia 15.3.1.

I'm having this issue on every post 2020 versions of After Effects: When I flip horizontally or vertically a layer the rotation of all the layers linked to it get inverted. It's really hard to animate layers like that because the rigs start to behave way less intuitive.I would like to know if there's any way to solve this problem and make that the parented layers behave like they used to on older versions.

Hi! Every time I try to to a reverse copy-paste keyframes, I get this message: After Effects error: attempt to inquire about a key value in a time stream with no key values ( 29 :: 84) I tried on two different computers, and I get the same result all the time.I work on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023 (Apple M2 Pro) with 32 GB of memory, and I'm currently using After Effects 25.3.2. Can someone help me, please?Thank you! Chris.

Hie everyone, I have an Adobe subscription and would like to install the After Effects application, but when I try to install it, it says that the application is not compatible and that the system needs to be updated, but I can't figure out where to find this update. If anyone knows how to do this, I'm interested.

Create a solid and add The following plugin :  FxFactory/Generator/Circle4. Resize the layer to 50% and put it to the left of the canvas5. Create a secondary solid and add The following plugin :  FxFactory/Generator/Perlin Noise6. Resize the layer to 50% and put it to the Right of the canvas7. Select the first solid and change any parameter value of the Circle plugin.8. Now select the seconday solid (It should crash... If not add a third Solid and repeat operations ) The crash appears to be trivial, due to some UI state. A more complex plugin (Example Yanobox Motype 2) probably makes it more likely because it takes a bit longer to produce a frame

Hello everyone,I've been experiencing an issue with the advanced 3D render engine. Whenever I attempt to insert a 3D object or enable the advanced 3D engine, After Effects immediately crashes.What confuses me is that on older-spec PCs with GPUs like the Nvidia 1660 or 3050, the engine works perfectly fine, and I'm able to animate and view the 3D objects.My current PC specs are:Intel Core i7-13700K, 3400 MHz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti 8GB32GB RAMNvidia and Intel drivers are updated.Could it be a hardware issue with my PC? If so, does anyone have any ideas on what I should troubleshoot?I'm attaching After Effects log of the exit that happens when I turn on Advanced 3D.

I'm using Mac, the app has operated well, but this error showed up while I was previewing my video.  How can I resolve this issue? 

To be honest, I've never once gotten a useable result from content aware fill - has anyone?  I only really use it as a dynamic link between AE and Photoshop, but that never seems to work any more either.  So yeah, make some of it work please. 

I just ran into a frustrating issue with After Effects (v25.3.0) that I’ve never seen before in 5+ years of using the software.I was working on a project yesterday, saved it manually using “Save As”  — I do this manually every time when I start working on any project, just a habit, but even more hilarious that I even have a screenshot from my activity tracker that clearly shows me doing that. But when I reopened AE, the project still appeared under Recent Projects, and clicking it gave me the dreaded “file not found” error. I went into the folder I saved it in, and the .aep file is just gone — completely disappeared. No trace of it.To make it worse, the Auto-Save folder is also empty, which makes no sense because auto-save was enabled. I’ve checked my system thoroughly (including hidden folders, Library > Application Support, media cache, etc.), and used Terminal to search for .aep and .aepautosave files modified that day — nothing.This feels like a serious bug. I'm trying to replace just the xPosition property while retaining its yPosition for multiple layers.Current constructs are such that all selected layer's yPosition adopt the yValues from the first selected layer. The result is really strange and I'm wondering why would this be part of the product's design. If I wanted both X-Y position values to exactly that of another layer, I would copy paste that layer's position property - so, there's already an intuitive way to accomplish this. Hence, writing in/over just the xPosition value should allow for changing just the xPosition value. 

I'm certain almost every user has seen the Missing Fonts dialog when opening an AEP -  So, today I said, enough of this crap - I'm going to get rid of this dialog. So ...How to RePro - 1 - in the Project Panel, input "Missing Fonts"2 - Project Panel displays comps that include one or more Text Layers with this "Missing Font"3 - Open each Comp and replace each instance of the font's use with a viable font. But you'll notice that each opened timeline displays only affected Text Layer(s).After completing the same task across all Comps I realize - DANG!!! How do I get back the layers? Shy Layer icon isn't in an enabled state. It seems like something at a lower level is hiding the layers unaffected by the "Missing Fonts".The only way I know (I think) how to get the other layers back into the timeline is to save-quit-restart. This is WILD! Hopefully this gets a quick fix - starting from the poorly thought Missing Fonts dialog which SHOULD include a list of the comps

It appears Expression Selectors have a bug with non-Latin scripts (Right to Left) like Arabic and Hebrew.   They don't render correctly on every frame, sometimes they're delayed, other times they're incorrect.   However, purging cache on each frame will render correctly. Also, sometimes it will seem to work fine, but then if you change or re-create the keyframes then the bug resurfaces.   In this example, the above text is animating correctly with a regular Range Selector, but the lower example is animating incorrectly with a simple Expression Selector driven by a slider.     Attached Project File for Reference.   (expression for reference) val = effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); if(Math.round(textIndex) == Math.round(val)) { [100, 100, 100]; }else{ [0, 0, 0]; }   Tested on: - AE 25.3.0 Build 71 - Windows 11

Please help. I've just rendered a video with some effects (shaking, twitching, coloring) and I guess messed with one layer. I've reversed one to make a transition . The reversed layer was with some color on it (effect like tritone you know) using a reversed turbulent displace either. So now I created a clearly new project, where's none of videos that I was using in the last, but on my preview page this one layer with color effect still stays like I added it to a timeline, but there's nothing! No one layer on it. And it renderers with this layer when didn't even add the file. Don't know how is it even possible. I'm sorry for my English, it's not my mother language. I can send video with the problem to a dm on insta/telegram/discord/twitter and stuff like these
