Bug Reports

My Lightroom Classic auto-updated this week and I discovered that the Auto Advance option no longer works when applying keywords. (It still works for flagging--I didn't try color labels or anything else.) I am in Library mode, Loupe view. My workflow is to chose "None" as the Keyword (in Grid view), switch to Loupe view, and then press Ctrl+K to add the keywords. It has always auto-advanced to the next photo after I press enter, with the Keyword field active and ready for me to enter the new set of keywords for the next photo. I tag sports action photos with the player names and I have been doing this for years, so I discovered this bug as soon as I loaded photos from this week's games and tried to tag them. I did check to ensure that Auto Advance is selected under the Photo menu. (It was off when I checked, but even after enabling it, there was no change.) I reverted back to version 12.1 and it works now, so this Auto Advance on Keywording functionality seems to have been
When starting Tethering capture with camera disconnected, Tether dialog opens, and I can slick Start Capture, but camera is not detected. If I start Tether Capture with camera connected, LrC tells me I have to relaunch in Rosetta mode. When I then start Tether Capture, camera is detected, and I can take pictures LrC randomly terminates at any time. When I switch to Live view, I can also take pictures. When I close Live view, LrC starts detecting camera, and camera is not detected. A few crash reports are sent I first tried this in Ventura 13.0.1, then upgraded to 13.2.1, but results were the same.
When I attempt to email a photo using Lightroom Classic on my mac I get a crashes every time. It occurs when I type the to address it crashes when I get to about the 9th character in the address. So far I have been on the phone with adobe and they gave up after trying it in a new user account and it functioned correctly. I have uninstalled lightroom, deleted all the preferences I can find, and reinstalled it but the issue remains. Both macOS and LRc are fully updated. Has anyone else had this issue come up and found a solution?
Hi, Every time I am about to quit Lightroom, I stare irritated at the screen. Someone has decided to translate ”quit” into the Swedish word ”avbryta”. It should be ”avsluta”. I attach the quit dialogue that probably explains it. The Swedish word ”avbryta” is the English word ”cancel”
When I export an image with a watermark via Lr Export, if I set range right for the lines of text, it only allows me to range left, even when checking the paragraph setting!!!! I have uninstalled the App, rebooted and installed the App and opened via the prompt Open. Is this a clitch???? Thanks Steve
I encountered with an issue with Guided Upright. When I try to straighten up things for DNG file it doesn't work. I have this issue on both Mac and Windows. The DNG file is a raw file from Leica M10-R See the video below. I forgot to click Update in video, but it doesn't do anything.
I use LR Classic 12.2 on Windows 11. I shoot photos with an iPhone 13 Pro Max using the native iPhone camera app. I sync photos from the iPhone to the Adobe Cloud using LR Mobile app on the phone, then sync down from the Adobe Cloud to Classic on the desktop computer. Today with 3 days of photo that needed to be synced to Classic, the Sync process quit working. I did everything I could think of including Rebuild Sync Data, manually delete today's photos from the Cloud, resync, reboot computer and LR many times, but nothing helped. I then rolled back to Classic 12.1 and the sync problem went away. I reinstalled Classic 12.2 to confirm and the sync problem returned. What happens in Classic 12.2 when trying to sync is this. After turning on sync by clicking on the cloud icon, the number of photos to be synced briefly appears then goes away. The folder where the synced photos are to be stored is created but shows 0 photos in the folder which never changes. In Prefs > Lightroom Sync >
SUMMARY, AN ATTEMPT TO DESCRIBE MY PROBLEM IN ONLY A FEW SENTENCES The “Previous” button is meant to copy all kinds of properties from one source picture to a target picture. Up to version 10.1 it did not copy the crop factor when source and target were labeled “Original”. Unfortunately, in version 11 it is the aspect ratio copied from source to target, leaving the source on “Original” and the target on “Custom”. In my humble opinion the property “Original” should be copied, not the aspect ratio. SOME HISTORY It was probably in February 2021 that Adobe updated Lightroom Classic (“LrC”) from version 10.1.1 to 10.2. Unfortunately, in version 10.2 a bug appeared in the crop tool. When the properties from one “source” picture were copied to one or several “target” pictures, using the buttons “Synchronization” or “Previous”, the “Crop properties” were scrambled. In February I visited Adobe's discussion panels without finding a proper answer. Then I discussed the bug with Adobe agents
When there's a batch of recently imported photos that I start adding keywords to, the "None" option doesn't appear in the Library Filter bar's Metadata browser Keyword column until you restart the app. This bug has gone on for some time, and it's a pretty big annoyance as someone who uses Keywords a lot. [See this screen recording for steps to reproduce the bug in LR 10.1.1 / Mac OS 10.15.7: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e4l1yiqirv85zss/metadata-keywords-column-none.2021.01.22.mov?dl=0 -JRE]
You can't clear a caption in a JPEG exported from a master that was imported with a pre-existing caption (e.g. from an annoying Olympus camera). Even after clearing the caption in the Metadata panel, the exported JPEG will still contain the pre-existing caption. For JPEG masters, the workaround is to do Metadata > Save Metadata To File after clearing the caption, but this doesn't work for raws. For raws, you must set the caption to a non-blank value, e.g. "-". This bug was reported at least as far back as LR 3, and it continues to annoy users with Olympus cameras. (Up until recently, Olympus insisted on setting EXIF:ImageDescription to "OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA".) See here for recent complaints: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic/lightroom-cc-fills-in-description-field-on-export/m-p/11987182#M229579 To reproduce: 1. Download an Olympus raw and JPEG from here: https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/
Just updated to Lightroom 11.01 tonight, on a brand new MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro with 32GB of memory and 10 cores. There are several bugs. - BUG - The popup, for the completion of the import process (Smart Previews Created), does not pop-up onto the top of the main screen. It's like it's behnd the screen and not visible. I had to reduce the window size from Full-Screen to the smaller size before the pop-up became visible. Before I did this everywhere I clicked on the screen and the computer beeped, unhelpfully. - BUG - Mask Panel does not pop out to show that you have created a mask and allow you to add a mask for the first time. - BUG - When I hit the Mask Icon on the develop menu (the round shaped patch like thing all the way to the right.) to create a second mask after having already created a mask, the Mask Menu with it's various chocies about what kind of mask to create also does not show up. So you cant create one except by using a short-cut key. After screw
Increasing image size from 100% to 200% results in blurred image in Library module. Move to Develop module and image sharpens up. Return to Develop module and the image stays sharp until you move the cursor in to the image area, at which point it returns to a blurred image. Same image(s) in Lightroom Classic 9.4 remain sharp at 1:1,2:1 and larger.
On Mac, holding Opt while dragging a panel divider lets you expand the panel as wide as you want. But Alt-drag doesn't work on Windows 10 / LR 7. (I recall that this used to work in Windows, but that could be a false memory.)Expanding the panels extra wide can be very helpful to see deep hierarchies and long names with folders, collections, and keywords.
I am running Lightroom Classic 12.0.1 on a Lenovo Thinkcentre M75s Gen 2 with AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 5350G CPU and 16GB of RAM. The OS is Windows 10 Pro. I have had consistent issues on this machine with the sync function. I use both the mobile app and Lightroom Classic, and I have noticed when editing or uploading images on the mobile app it would create often as many as 5 duplicates of the original image in Lightroom Classic. After wiping my cloud photos and rebuilding sync data as suggested by adobe support, I am now unable to sync at all. Lightroom Classic will operate normally as long as I leave sync paused, but the second I unpause it the program begins to slow down until a loading icon appears and it crashes. This happens without fail every time it attempts to sync. Is there any solution to this issue?
Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom mobile sort collection correctly. When I make the collection public, the public gallery displayed via the link is not sorted correctly. The collection spans 4 days. The whole collection should be sorted from oldest to newest, but the public gallery is all over the place. The first day of pictures is sorted from newest to oldest, and the rest of the photos are sorted in varying orders and out of sequence. I have tried un-syncing, re-syncing, changing sort orders from capture date to file name to custom, and nothing works. Again, it is sorted correctly on Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Mobile. It is just the public link gallery that does not sort correctly. The public gallery has an Icon that allows me to change the sort order. When I re-sort from newest to oldest, it displays correctly. When I re-sort from oldest to newest, the incorrect/random order is again displayed. This is incredibly
no import button in Library module, Develop module: An error occurred when attempting to change modules map module says unable to comnect to adobe servers, I am dead in LR & can not work. Is there something going on? It worked fine yesterday. I am updated, I have uninstalled & reinstalled, reset preferences, gave full permisson to LR on Mac.
Hey guys ! After the latest update, I'm facing a rather annoying problem. After I do all my export settings and press EXPORT Button, LR seems to time out for a couple of minutes (and don't respond) until it starts the export. After that the export time is quick as usual ! LR Classic ver 12 MacOS Monterey 12,6
On a regular basis, I merge 5 bracketed shots from my drone. In the older LR, this operation took about 1 minute or less. I could "batch" 5 operations at a time and have them all done in about 3 minutes or less. With the newer, faster, more awesome (and likely soon-to-be-deprecated) LR, it simply won't do anything. I was lucky and had one HDR to work, but I've tried countless others (one for nearly two hours) and nothing happens. The progress bar makes no progress. I'm really worried that this important feature is simply victim of a bug. Anyone else having issues? Adobe, what's up with this?? I'm using a medium-powered PC that has never had problems with merge before.
So, in order to access the printing module I have installed Lightroom Classic, and am syncing my Lightroom catalogue down to it from Adobe Cloud. At the moment, left to its own devices, doing nothing but syncing, lightroom crashes every few minutes. The main error message is to do with the catalogue - which is being written to an external harddrive. So far, I have: - uninstalled and reinstalled - disabed GPU - deleted preview cache I'm running out of ideas at this stage. The program is wholly unusable as is, and has already wasted hours of my time. Any fixes, or do I just give up, uninstall and get my refund?
Adding hours, minutes, seconds to the name of the exported file does not work. It does not work in the Polish language version. It works correctly in the English language version.
System Windows 10 Home built 19045.2604 Lightroom version 12.2 (2013-02-13) Windows Keyboaoard activated: ENG CAFR Module Library Menu Metatadata> Export Keywords > Includes Keyword tags options (CSV) The action does not export diacritics for words that possess them Activité becomes Activité Université Laval becomes Université Laval François Côté becomes François Côté etc. It works fine in the original mode (to text file) D. Confirming a name suggested by face recognition breaks the current Keyword column in the Metadata browser, such that the column won't display the photo with the confirmed name. To reproduce:1. Create a new catalog, enabling face recognition.2. Import two copies of the same photo containing a clearly recognizable face.3. Assign both photos the keyword "John".4. In the Keyword List panel, click the arrow to the right of "John", which opens a Keyword column in the Metadata browser with "John" selected.5. Select the first photo, go to Library Loupe view, and enable the viewing of faces by clicking the Draw Face Region in the toolbar.6. Label the face with "John".7. Move to the next photo, which should show "John?" above the face rectangle. Confirm that name by clicking the check mark.8. The current photo disappears from grid view, even though the Keyword column shows two photos assigned to John:9. Disabling filters and re-enabling them or re-clicking on the arrow to the right of "John" in
The Preference options File Handling > Treat dot/slash As A Keyword Separator doesn't work on import, though it does work with the menu command Metadata > Read Metadata From File. To reproduce: 1. In Preferences > File Handling, set the options Treat dot/slash As A Keyword Separator. 2. Import the two attached files slash.jpg and dot.jpg. They contain the following metadata fields: $ exiftool -a -G -xmp:subject -iptc:keywords -xmp:hierarchicalsubject dot.jpg slash.jpg ======== dot.jpg [XMP] Subject : A.B.C [IPTC] Keywords : A.B.C ======== slash.jpg [XMP] Subject : A/B/C [IPTC] Keywords : A/B/C 3. Observe the following incorrect keywords that were created and added to the imported photos: 4. Select the two photos and do Metadata > Read Metadata From File. 5. Observe the photos now have the correct hierarchical keyword A > B > C applied: Tested on LR 11.3.1 / Mac OS 11.6.2.
Similar to this bug as this, it was about the PNG watermark.https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-watermarks-rendering-darker-than-preview/idi-p/13004589 On Lightroom Classic 11.5 the PNG watermark bug is fixed, but it brings the similar issue to the text watermark. Blow shows that the TEXT watermark with drop shadow will have a sharp edge on the right(15.0) watermark on the left is 14.1.1
What are the kb shortcuts for the second monitor zooming? I have tried cntr-shift +/- (on both main kb and numeric pad). These do not work properly.
