Bug Reports

Since upgrading to Mac OS X Yosemite (see: 10.10.1), Photoshop hasn't been playing nice. All tools that require "drawing" (that is, click-and-drag motions) experience a small amount of lag. It appears that the system is taking a moment to realize that the mouse has clicked, but after that, no lag is observable while actually dragging. This affects tools like the Brush tool, Lasso tool, Marquee tool, Zoom tool, so on and so forth. It's notable that I've not been able to reproduce this with the Polygonal Lasso tool, which is not a drag-motion tool. This issue CAN BE REPRODUCED ONLY USING THE MOUSE, but the effects are more subtle. Perhaps people using the mouse haven't even noticed. The issue is significantly more troublesome on tablets, however. Using the brush tool with a pressure sensitive tablet pen is a huge headache, if not utterly impossible. On a tablet, the issue is so bad that, often while doing small, quick motions, the program will fail to even register the stroke. Lines simp

Since the most recent update there is a problem with saving PNG transparency. We used to have the transparent layer with a "background" when you turned the background off it would save the PNG but the transparency it would feather into was based on the colours in the original background layer. Now when you save a png it seems to just make up any colours for the background. This is a serious problem as a games developer well underway with our project as we are now having to go through every texture map and graphic in our game and replace them with TGAs. We are losing all the convenience of the PNGS which is our preferred format. It used to work but sometimes would take ages to save the PNG if it was a larger image. Whichever "fix" you implemented has broken it and left us with"fringing" on all our transparent textures. You may never notice the issue unless you start to layer the pngs in a game engine or Maya but for us its a very serious problem. We are currently reverting to old CS2 to

input file is a 16 bit tiff file. i just made it brighter in different editing tools. it ́s not a question that even 16 bit files can show banding. the problem is that photoshop, as the most used image application on earth, has some real issues when using the default settings. the results are quite devasting for photoshop. in fact every shareware tool i tested did this better. i don ́t want to imagine how many images i edited where i thought it ́s a tonal problem and i added (unnesessary) noise to the image to get rid of the banding. this is GRAVE GRAVE issue!!! the cache level setting should not influence the appearance of an image! on the left photoshop .. on the right acdsee. when i set the cache level in photoshop CC preferences to 1 the result looks much smoother and cleaner: it doesn ́t matter for the problem if i use "exposure" or a "levels" or "curve" adjustment. i am using: win7 64bit sp1 intel i7 24gb ram nvidia 980 gtx (latest drivers) photoshop is the latest 64 bit CC ver

Transparent pixels get undefined RGB values when saving as transparent PNG.

Please update scanning method for MAC with Photoshop CC or CC2014. (Currently cannot scan directly anymore from my Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner to Photoshop. It used to be so easy. Now I have to use Epson or Mac to scan, save as TIFF, and then open in Photoshop. Very clunky and time consuming. Not a solution.) Please fix this glitch.

In Photoshop CS6 on OSX 10.7 and 10.8 (don't know in Windows) kerning using ALT + arrows doesn't work properly. At first it works, BUT if you change some parameter in the "character panel" and come back to the text, it's no working anymore. You have click again in ANY field in ANY panel (ex. character size), come back to your text field and it is working again. Kind of annoying when you are in a hurry. I can make a video or explain it with more details if you cannot reproduce the bug. I hope you include this in the next upgrade, it is getting me crazy. In japanese you have to correct the kerning all time. Thanks

It seems Groups’ Fill can not be set with the shortcuts that apply to regular Layers – namely shift-number. I work on Mac OS 10.6.8

Photoshop 12.0.4 (CS5, Mac OS X, German) does not show the menu search in the help menu. Other CS5 products like Illustrator or InDesign contains the menu search and the English version of Photoshop has it too - but not the German version.

There is a significant difference in the appearance of an image in Bridge and when it is opened in Photoshop - as much as 1 to 3 stops. Over the past 2 weeks I have worked with technical support to solve this problem without success. I was told the problem was "a known Issue" and should be resolved in a few days. That was a week ago and still no fix. As a long time PS user I am very disapppointed in the level and quality of support. Maybe it is time for a change!

First let me thank the Adobe developers for adding the capability in CS6 for Group Layer Styles. This capability is extremely helpful. However, when I uncheck the "Transparency Shapes Layer Option" and use the Group Layer/Vector Mask to determine the Group Layer Shape (where Layer Style is applied) then virtually all Layer Style types can form incorrectly under very normal conditions. Here is a simple example with Transparency Shapes Layer unchecked using Stroke-Outside Layer Style Option (Note: Light blue rectangle is from the View > Show > Layer Edges begin enabled) Layer Style Expected ---------------------------- Layer Style Showing Bug ---------------------------------- Observed Bug Conditions to have Layer Style generated incorrectly 1) Group Layer has Transparency Shapes Layer unchecked 2) Group Layer/Vector Mask is used to define the Group Layer Shape (bug also occurs when there is no Group Layer/Vector Mask as well) 3) The Group Layer Edges (as determined by the contai

Hello, I recently upgraded to Mavericks, and I have a MAJOR problem that is giving me problems. The Polygonal lasso tool using a Wacom tablet. The lasso too decides to close the mask before I want it to. This happens constantly when trying to mask object with the Polygonal Lasso tool - forcing me to use a mouse when working. I hope this will be adrdessed and fixed soon. There ́s no way for me to roll back the Mavericks upgrade, but as it is right now, Photoshop isn ́t working optimal in Mavericks for me.

This log file gets recreated on every launch. This is so annoying...

I've read through every forum post I can find, all that the almighty Google Gods have to offer, and have spent an hour of wasted time chatting with Adobe Support in regards to text rendering problems I'm experiencing with PS6. While I've seen MANY problems discussed, I haven't seen my exact problem discussed, so here's praying that I'm missing some completely obvious setting somewhere... Text and colors are showing up beautifully when working in PS6, but when I render, seems like no matter what I do, the text goes haywire. I lose coloring and style upon render, but only on certain lines. It seems to select which bits of text to render correctly and which to spite in a completely arbitrary fashion. Here's what I'm looking at: All of my text is set to 100% opacity. I'm on Windows 7, just upgraded to CS6. I've tried moving all of the text layers as the absolute top layers of the document. I've tried saving as pdf with the color settings "Blend Text Colors Using Gamma" checkbox both chec

One idea that i have about making photoshop better experience and probably also fixing a "bug" (maybe) is to be able to use the Cancel button on "Copy CSS" feautre. This button is right below "duplicate layer" when right clikcing and i often missclick on it. When this happen on a group of 30 layers i have to wait a lot before photoshop compiles and give me the css. There is a button "cancel" that seems to be just for balance and no real functionality. Please make this button actually do something so i can cancel this operation. Thanks!

To recreate: open up a design or create a new one. Press T or click on your text tool. Create a Text field... type what ever you want using a font with multiple font faces. Press Cntl Enter to commit your text. Press V or select your move tool ... press arrow keys to move around your new text layer. Now, assuming you used a font with multiple faces. Click on the arrow of the dropdown to select a different font face. and click on a new one .... no click anywhere on your design with your still active move tool. You should / used to be able to now press your arrow keys to move around your text again but if you notice the font face picker is not deactivated and press arrows will just change your font face however the behavior in all previous version was that clicking on your design will deselect the face field, as you can see by trying the same experiment with font size drop down.

If effects are added with Blending Options... on a folder, the "New style..." does nothing when trying to save the style. Similarly - when selecting a folder and clicking a Style in the Styles tab, the effects are applied to the layers in the folder - not to the selected folder!

I usually make several duplicates of my files to test on-the-go design options, and I've encountered a problem with Photoshop CC 2014: If I open a document, all the text is editable. But if I duplicate it (Image > duplicate), , and then close the original file, the text tools stops, and I receive this error while typing on a text layer or trying set a point or paragraph text: "Could not complete your request because of a program error". - Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.0.0 20140508.r.58 2014/05/08:23:59:59 x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.8.5

16 bit calculated masks - issue of random squares on mask that destroy effectiveness. Am using CS5 v12.0.4 64bit ona Win 7 64bit Ultimate PC with 12Gb RAM. I do not believe the problem is only one of display. I started with a 16bit RGB image and my detailed workflow was - I only had a background layer - Image | Calcuations | Source 1 channel = Gray | Source 2 channel = Gray | Blending | Screen (Overlay also shows issue but this image was too dark for good demo) | Result = selection I then Image | Calcuations | Source 1 channel = Selection | Source 2 channel = Selection | Blending | Screen | Result = selection or new doc or new channel If you choose new channel, you see an alpha channel witht hese random squares where the mask is not applied correctly. However, if you "result" the first calculation as a "New Channel" and then recalculate you do not see the issue.

I can't use any of my F-key shortcuts I've set up when I'm in adjustment curves layer in CS5 x64 on Windows 7. I have a lot of brush shortcuts assigned to these keys I need to access and they no longer work. When I press an F-key, I get the eye dropper tool instead.

Photoshop CS5 for Mac displays unexpected behaviors when the Mixer Brush Tool is selected. For some reason Photoshop tries to merge layers while an image is being opened, or when a layer visibility is turned on or off. Sometimes Photoshop will also crash.

When photoshop is open and the panels have been closed by using the tab key, mousing over the left side of the application frame will not completely open the tools tab. The panels tab will completely open.

Can't seem to make a soft return in PS CS2 / CS3 / CS4 / CS5 / CS5.5 (Windows-PC) (no problems on a Mac) Image is not available

On Mac OS 10.6, if I mouse over a window that is focused or not focused, I can scroll that window using my scroll wheel. This doesn't work in PS. I have to focus the window to scroll it. I want it to work the way the system does it.

Hi There- In our shop file names tend to get really, really long, and we often need to save files out in multiple formats and color spaces, without paths or channels. I've noticed that when you uncheck the Alpha Channels check box, and the save as copy checkbox becomes active the filename gets cut off depending on how long it is to include the "-copy" at the end. I see the logic behind this–not wanting to save over an original–but I find it most useless. I've worked around the problem by including a couple scripts that will remove the paths and alpha channels from the files in my actions before saving them, preventing the need to save as a copy in the save dialogue. However, this is still a nuisance. I'd like to see a delete alpha channels command in the channels palette, as well as a delete paths command in the paths palette.

I have attached a close-up image of the problem. As you can see there are a few layers of type, and some graphics behind it. The font I used is very common (Cooper Black) and the blue letter "r" in the middle of the screen is missing a row of pixels. Notice that the "r" behind it is the same font, but perfectly fine. Obviously type in Photoshop shouldn't be doing this. I have noticed it with a number of fonts in Photoshop, but I've even seen it happen when I place smart objects from Illustrator. If I move the problem layer, sometimes it goes away, but more often it doesn't. Sometimes other portions of the layer will lose a row of pixels instead. Now this problem may seem minor, since it is only one row pixels, but if you apply a layer style, such as a bevel, it acts as if those pixels are supposed to be that way. Therefore you have a bevel wrapping around that one row of missing pixels. I have tried creating PDFs out of these files, and the problem still exists after the export. This m
