Bug Reports

Hey all wondering if someone else has encountered this issue or knows of a solution. I'm running PS 2023, updated to version 24.6. I'm working off a Macbook Pro, OS Ventura 13.4.1. My issue is that some PSD files open without issue in PS, and some, when I try to open them, nothing happens. No error message ever appears, and I don't know what is causing certain files to not open. Basically I'll double click on some select PSD files, Photoshop will start up like normal, but then the file never opens. Anyone have any solutions? I've uninstalled PS and reinstalled several times, and I"ve made sure both the laptop and app are completely updated.
Some time ago I experienced a bug that caused the brush tool to "paint" over the canvas with white/black graphical boxes that would vary in shapes and sizes. The fix then was to go to preferences -> technology previews -> check off the 2016 gpu mode. This no longer works anymore (I've had this mode on since the first problem and and it remained working until yesterday.) I have also experienced that after a couple of minutes after opening a file the canvas will get laggy. When trying to move the canvas in any way I would experience a significant time delay. The entire service is practically unusable to me right now. This seemingly happened after the auto update yesterday (27.01.2024).
What is the problem? Why is this happening?

Quando eu uso a mascara e vou apagar com o pincel branco, aparece esses quadrados brancos, Tanto quando uso a máscara quanto uso alguma fonte.Nas fontes, quando aumento o tamanho fica branco também.
Me ajudem! O photoshop fica criando esses blocos brancos por cima do texto como se fosse um erro de renderização.
I just updated photo shop today two version 24.1 and I have noticed delete and fill has been removed. This is really disheartening because it works so much better than content aware fill. Normally you can right click on the selection to access this, but I have looked through all the menus and have not found it since this update.
When using the File Info section of the previous version of PS CC prior to the newest 2014 version, I could simply type in the first one or two letters of any of the fields and the program would auto-fill (or suggest) the rest of the text for that field. With the newest (2014) version of PS CC it isn't doing that...and I'm told this feature was no longer included in the newest version. To me that's ridiculous that they removed this feature, as it saved me a ton of time. Is there any way that we can request that this auto-complete feature be reinstated into the newest version?
Hi there not sure if this is a bug or not but during the upload of the CC 2022 software I was reading the What's New features in Photoshop Feature summary | Photoshop desktop (October 2021 release) (adobe.com) And it was mentioned that the new version was to have in the Export As the option of outputing an animated GIF. However I only find the static GIF option in version 5.5.9 with the ablity to output a static one frame gif. The only way I can still output animated GIFs is to use the Save for Web Legacy. So I am just wondering if this new feature for "Export As" is really there or not? Also it does not allow me to output with a transparency, while the Save for Web will.
I thought the whole point of the Generate Assets feature was the multi-resolution output, but apparently the only input data the exporter makes use of is the layer’s raster data, and not the original resolution of a linked or embedded smart object, thus making any upscaling from a 1x version unfeasible. This way the ‘retina’ versions of the image are simply created as blurry memory-intensive pixel-bloats of the original size, which is nothing anyone could want 😞
If you have any undocked panels in Photoshop, when you close all of the open documents and return to the Home screen, the panels are on top of the Home screen. It appears that if the panels are docked then don't behave like this. Here's a screen shot.I
Since Ps 23.x most adjustment layers, unfortunately specially Curves, are super slow, throtteled and jerky. - Please fix that asap, thanks. MBP 16, 2019, Core i9, 64 GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 5500 8 GB MacOS Monterey 12.0.1 Appreciate any feedback. Specially if ther is a workaround to fix this prior to bug fix. A video explains more than 1000 words:
When in Pattern Preview mode, a Gaussian Blur will normally work across the image seams to give a smoothly tiling seamless result. However I have found that if the Blur is done as part of an Action, that it will act as if Pattern Preview were not on. This happens even if the Action was recorded with Pattern Preview on, and also even if turning on Pattern Preview is a previous recorded step in the Action. Steps to Reproduce:1. With any image open, use View> Pattern Preview to see it tile. 2. Start recording a new Action 3. Use Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur 4. See that it blurs seamless, which is correct. 5. Stop recording your Action. 6. Undo all changes to the image. 7. With Pattern Preview still active, play the new Action. 8. See that there are seams on this blur. Photoshop v24.7, Windows 10. Note: this did not happen in the previous version. The attached movie shows the problem. The top-most layer in my layer stack is a multiply layer - it has the UV's on it for a 3D model I'm working on. If I pick and drag anything around in the layers beneath this multiply layer, everything gets corrupted and does not revert to a 'clean' document view until I hide and then unhide the top-most multiply layer. It seems to be provoked by the presence of text layers.
Just updated to the latest 2015.5 version and find that after a few minutes with the new Select and Mask tool photoshop crashes my AMD Display Driver. Need then to end photoshop. Using Win 10 fully updated and the latest AMD Driver. The crash happens consistently. I haven't had time yet to discover if other features crash the driver.
I am posting on the forums because I am so incredibly sick of this issue. It has been reported on the forums for just about 6 years now and I can't believe this problem hasn't been addressed and fixed. Whenever I have Photoshop opened up, if I move to another app and try to work in it, such as Illustrator, InDesign or even Safari, my cursor will flicker between the program specific cursor and the system default cursor sporadically. It makes it nearly impossible to work quickly or accureately in any program other than Photoshop. As soon as I close Photoshop the issue resolves immediately. I have tried so many "solutions" that have been suggested in the past and none of them have helped me. This problem is so infuriating and I can't believe I pay so much for software that doesn't even work as it should and have 6 year old bugs. This problem has persisted through many iterations of MacOS, as well as many versions ofthe CC Suite. I am currently running the latest version of macOS along wit
Updated to Photoshop CC 20150529.r.88 x64 today. Crashes almost everytime I zoom. This is incredibly frustrating. The version I used before the update (some last year's version) didn't do this on the same file.
This behavior is new to the latest update - in past versions of Photoshop when you duplicated a layer that was in a stack of layers which used the same clipping mask, the new duplicate layer would retain the original layer's clipping mask (note that this is only when right-clicking and selecting "duplicate layer", or in my case using a shortcut key to duplicate a layer). However, now when you duplicate a layer in a stack of layers with the same clipping mask, the new duplicate no longer has the original layer's clipping mask, and all layers above which previously used the original clipping mask, now will use the new duplicate layer as the clipping mask. WHAT GIVES??? This is hugely annoying - does anyone have a fix to this or a workaround? i scoured the preferences for an option to fix this but found nothing.
Version 23 has introduced file compression on large files - even when file compression is disabled in preferences. This is slowing down save times compared to previous versions. As an example, on my current PC a psb file on disk at 8.2GB now saves at 5.4GB but with a lengthened save time. The PC is Windows 10, i9-10920X, save to NVMe drives The same file on an older PC shows the same issue.i7-3930K, save to SSD drive In all other versions, disabling file compression resulted in a larger file but a much faster save. The new version is not as slow as enabling compression, but clearly some undocumented partial compression has been introduced. There are many of us who invest in large high speed solid state drives for the fastest save and load times, and purposely disable compression in favour of speed. This change negates some of that speed gain. Dave Note : This bug report came out of a discussion on speed in this thread : https://community.adobe.com/t
Photoshop version 22.5.1, I feel that this is a bug because before this version of photoshop it did not occur. When I have drawn the crop with the crop tool but have not commited to the crop by hitting the enter key, I use to be able to cancel the crop that I had drawn by hitting the escape key. That would cancel the crop that was drawn but keep me in the crop tool. That no longer works with version 22.5.1. The only way I can cancel the crop that was drawn is to click on another tool. I feel that this is a bug and should be fixed. I am running Windows 10.
Since Photoshop 24.2 (and still in 24.3), the "Select Subject" command incorrectly excludes a row of pixels along all canvas edges that the subject touches. When viewing the mask or moving/removing the subject, the missed pixels remain. There is no "apply effect at canvas bounds" preference available with this command whether processed on the device or in the cloud. I noticed this issue in 24.3 and had to step back three versions to 24.1.1 to get it to behave properly again.
Photoshop Pattern Preview has bugs when rotating objects that need resolving - it makes it a lot of extra work to rotate and super difficult.
After writing a certain number of characters in a text box, Photoshop will start printing one word per line instead of continuing to write text like normal. This consistently happens after ~32767 characters have been printed; likely this is related to the usage of 16-bit signed integers in Photoshop. Added screenshot below with example Steps to reproduce: 1) Create new document 2) Add text box to document 3) Paste >32767 characters worth of text in text box Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.0.1 20221111.r.112 a12a934 x64Operating System: Windows 10 64-bitVersion: 10 10.0.19044.2251
I just updated photoshop to 25 to the newest version and found a bug on the layer mask icon in the layer panel. I have Ventura 13.4.1 running on an intel imac
I can't find anyone else online mentioning this so either no one else does this, or I'm the only one on the planet with the bug (on two separate computers). It only started after version 22.x. I still use 22 at work and refuse to upgrade because I run into this bug so often. I use the latest version when I work from home as a "test" to see if this will somehow get fixed. It's still there two years later. Ugh. Here's the scenario: I have my move tool selected and use CTRL T to scale a layer. Sometimes the layer is too big for me to see the handles, so I click on the aspect ratio link (arrow) and then drag the W (circle) to the left to scale the image down to where I can see the handles. I let go of the mouse button when the image is at the scale I desire, and then I click on the image to move it to the proper location -- but the move tool NEVER works on the first click after scaling this way. It simply does not register as a click the first time. I hav
