P: Photoshop liquify zoom slow werid

Photoshop zoom is weird with delay in Liquify filter.

If i try to zoom in to more than 50%, it will take as long as 3 seconds to load the image. And then all of a sudden,  zoom in.

something wrong... This is very inconvenient. I reset the settings of Photoshop and reinstalled it. It's the same problem.

My laptop, imac is same issue. No OS problem... Photoshop version is 23.3
Fix and Help me plz =(

After finishing the work schedule today, I was able to judge for sure. The zoom-in-out is rougher than when this bug is fixed (23.4). It's not slow. But it's not a soft experience.

my ps 24.0 and studiodriver 522.30

I think it's a matter of optimization.

hmm.. zoom-in on the canvas, as well as the liquify zoom inout seems to have gotten a little weird. To be exact, it feels more rough than slow.

if older gpu option turn on, not solve.

also my desktop is two.(2070,3080)

But seeing that both gpu feel rough, something seems to be broken. It's not soft. It feels like there's a lot of fine loading

Hi, it get better for sure, but still very slow and not fluid at all (quite jerky) when I zoom in and out.
So I'll use v23.1.1 for now, as it is the last version  that works really good with my graphic card

@gabrielel90369276 Try this: In Photoshop 2023 (v24.x) Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and enable "Older GPU mode (pre 2016)" - Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

Hi, I have a problem with the basic zoom in PS since version over 23.1.1.
I have installed the latest 24 version and still have the problem.
I have a Nvidia Quadro k2200, but it deosn't seem a problem with the computer performance at all.
Anybody has a clue on what it is necessary to fix this problem?

When I finish using the Liquify tool and then click OK, it returns to the main work screen, but the image is gone, it is just a plain blank canvas (See the attached file).

It was working fine until it installed the latest update earlier today.

Help please?

Hi @Rachyroo72 sorry to hear this. Have you tried rolling back to the previous version of Ps, did that resolve the issue?

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thank you,

I was so stressed because of the liquify zoom delay. While searching, I saw the comment above and downloaded 20.0.6 and tried it. It's really perfect. It's the zoom speed I want.

I don't know when Adobe will fix this.

I hope it will be a patch in 23.5. I want the zoom speed of Photoshop 2019.

I always have Photoshop 2019 (20.0.6) version for backup in advance. And compared to the current Photoshop 2022 (23.4.1), there are many differences in liquify filter zoom speed.

I think the best version you can roll back while waiting for the patch is the 2019 version. At least this version is perfect. If you don't have the 2019 version, try installing the first version as much as you can.

I've done a lot of tests on this by replacing CPU, RAM and GPU, and I'm sure it's a Photoshop version problem.

If you feel like it's related to a delay or rack as well as this Liquify zoom delay, try installing the old version first. And compare. It's not a bug if there's not much difference. But if there are many differences and inconveniences to use, it is a bug.

Can anyone help me with my issue with the error that keeps popping up that says the operation could not be completed every time I zoom into a image I'm using a Wacom mobile studio pro

@Adam Jerugim

I created a thread and checked the notification after a long time.

1. mouse(click), tablet(wacom intuos pro M), keyboard(shortcut Ctrl or Command +,- )

2. In my case, mostly 7~8 layer at least. But if don't exist layer(=it's mean just open any image), same delay or loading feel. The image depth is symptomatic, regardless of 8 bits and 16 bits.

By default, the minimum size of the image is greater than 6000px.

I hope it doesn't load.

I borrowed my colleague's laptop and experienced different versions of Photoshop. And before 2020, there was no delay or loading at all. (No matter how large the image is or how many layers there are)

However, now there is an unconditional delay no matter how much you restore, reinstall, or change your computer. Or there is inevitably a load close to a delay. It's like reading an image once.

I don't know how bugs are fixed. But what I feel, and as many people report in this thread, the loading should disappear (or improve). That was the environment we used to work in. =(
