Camera Raw

I'm currently working through some tutorials and found that Camera Raw on Windows displays a "top menu" with "tools" that my Camera Raw (12.3) on a MacBook Pro are missing.  Should they be visible the same as Windows or have they been abandoned for some reason?WindowsMac - with no upper menu or toolsThanking you.Sr. Sabina

I don't like the new design but I'm not going to bash it completely because I want to hear what other long time users are saying.  That, and the fact that there are some very nice new features in it. But here are the deal-breakers for me:1.  It takes approximately 4 seconds instead of 1 to open a raw file once I hit CTRL-R.  Not much more needs said on this. Horrible.2.  There is no possibility that I'd ever be faster by scrolling and hunting for what I want to do than clicking on a Tab and finding my familiar actions instantly.  The collapsing arrows are just more clicks.  Just look at the additional physical requirements on getting around in the app.   Then read a few articles on repetitive stress injuries while considering the number of photographs a professional routinely processes in a year, or a career. Hi,I am missing the crop tool in Adobe Camera Raw 12.3  (12.3.0.493 in Win10 64bit), see screenshot below.I reinstalled it, but that did not fix the problem. This seems a bit strange, suggestions welcome. regardsAndreas 

I have a series of ORF files shot as a timelapse. Processing them in LR gives noticeable color flickering. I picked out two pictures that were shot within one minute. They can be found under: http://pitufos.de/ORF/Importing them into LR results in quite different histogramms.When converting them into TIFF files with the Olympus Viewer 3 and then importing into LR gives the correct result.Hence I think there is a problem in the adobe RAW converter regarding ORF files.Also, a detour via Adobe DNG Converter gives the same wrong result.RegardsStephan Richter

Bought the data color color checker. Their instructions are old and don't include the new version of camera raw. Can't figure out where the profiles are inputted and how to access the. When I check The location they give as being saved to and go to find the profiles they are not there. Also, where do I find the profiles in camera raw. There is no camera icon? 

Hi Adobe, is there any reason to believe that there will be camera matching profiles for Canon CR3 format with the upcoming R5 and R6 models? It's almost two years now with no camera matching profiles for any new Canon model. We need to know the truth. Why are you not supporting Canons picture styles but clearly every other major brand? This is one of the major advantages using LR/ACR. It would be unfortunate to loose Canon clients. It's a market share of some importance I can imagine... You earlier mentioned about a year ago that "you are working on it" and  that Canon is not responsive. Is this the same answer I will get if I contact Canon?

I have just updated my version of PSE to handle the ARW (RAW) files from my Sony A77ii. Unfortunately, when I edit the files in ACR and try to open them in PSE for additional touch-ups/recomposing, etc., the image quality is HORRIBLE!! Here is a screen grab of a (fairly awful) picture that I edited in ACR:Obviously, it's not the best picture, but still MUCH better than when I open it in PSE: I'm so frustrated!! What am I doing wrong?? I've also tried other software, such as RAWThereapee, with similar results. Are Sony RAW files just terrible to work with?? 

I'm a regular user of Camera Raw for converting & editing my RAW files (from my DSLR & now Mirrorless) but as my laptop had been kidnapped by Team Knowhow for a number of weeks I've had to download everything etc...their new layout is eughhh, so I managed to stick with the old version(ish) but when I opened the images I want to edit, I'm now stuck with this in the middle of the screen! can anyone give me any ideas as to how I can be rid of it please??? (i've tried decreasing the size of the screen to see if there's any close options anywhere!) TIA 

Hi, I'm PS beginer and testing the trial version. I was faced with the fact that my Bridge 2020 cannot run Camera Raw (12.3.0.493). I see massege "editing in camera raw is not enabled".Is it because it's a trial ?Thanks\\Slava 

When you open a picture in Camera RAW 12.3, you always see at the rightsite of thescreen the end of the programm.......and not the beginning!  Please, is it possible to change that?

Hello,I'm just using the updated version of Camera Raw and can't find the grid guides for perspective corrections. Also, it seems in the last few months, especially this in this update, when making perspective adjustments to multiple bracketed images, they don't correct the same, even though they were aligned the same ito begin with. I do need the grid lines to make corrections. This new version looks like it will take some time to get used to. I'd might like to go back to the last version I had.Please help! 

I crop 100s of images a day and need to fit them in window after cropping to keep doing adjustments. Can we get a check box to "auto fit after crop"?

Hi there,Like many users, I've now had enough of the latest version of ACR and want to try and roll back to the older version before I jump ship to Capture1.Here's the action I've taken: -Rolled back my version of Bridge to version 10.0.4 using the Creative Cloud Desktop software.Followed the link to download version 12.2.1 of Adobe Camera raw that was listed in other threads on the same subject.Installed ACR 12.2.1 as instructed.Closed all Adobe software, switched off PC completely. Restarted PCSure enough, when I open Bridge, it's rolled back to the earlier version 10.0.4.Unfortunately when I double click a RAW file in Bridge, it still opens the file in the latest version of ACR. In Adobe Creative Cloud, you don't have the option of installing an earlier version of ACR, so I'm at a real loss as to how I tell Photoshop to use the earlier version of ACR that I've installed!If anyone can help I'd be much obliged, what little hair I have left is being torn out 😞Martin 

After the update to Adobe Camera Raw 12.3 (under MacOS Mojave 10.14.6), the metadata are saved again as xmp-Sidecar. However, I would like to embed them in the NEF files as before. (my Camera is a Nikon D7200 ... before the Update this worked perfectly)However, I do not find the attitude!

Since Adobe changed the layout of Camera Raw I cannot find the eyedropper I used for white balance correction. When color is critical my practice is to shoot a gray card and use that in combination with the eye dropper to correct the colors. There used to be 2 eyedroppers along the top, but no more. Since the format of camera raw has changed, I only get one and it isn't the correct one.  When I click on the one on the bottom right it brings up the one on the upper left, and it's the wrong one.  Where are the other two?  

In my Swedish version of Camera Raw 12.3 there is a false and bad translation in the sharpen tool. Amount in English is called Sharpen  as well as Detail slider is called Sharpen. But since Adobe support isn´t interested I have to live with it?

Hello, I am currently using ACR 12.3.I just lost 3 hours of work on hundreds of ARW files, Camera Raw simply closed itself after a misclick on that little arrow on the side of  the"open" button.No dialog box asked me if I'm ok to cancel 3 hours of work.No .XMP was created, no file was altered. I lost every single change on my pictures.Please do something, like adding a simple dialog box saying "are you sure you want to close without saving files" any time you work more than 5 minutes on your files. If I remember correctly it was the case in the previous versions of ACR.If there is a way to re enable that functionb I'd like to know how. Thanks. 

Hi guys I am using Mac Catalina 10.15 and PS 2020 21.2, and I am unable to pull Raw (CR2) files into photoshop. I receive an error message saying "Photoshop does not recognise this type of file" I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and was able to fix it? (I have uninstalled/reinstalled PS and Camera Raw) I am also shooting on an Canon 80D that is up to date. I have included a screenshot of the SD card which you can view a small preview on and the error message  Thank you in advance! 🙂

We have the Panasonic G9 with the Vlogl firmware upgrade.  Normally use vLog with video, but in high contrast situations, we use vlog on stills to reduce the contrast and keep the shadow detail.On the back of the camera, footage shows no blown highlights and can see shadow detail.  However, when open in ACR, the image highlights are blown and the shadows are under-exposed.  The histogram on back of camera shows plenty of latitude for both.When do we need to do in ACR, to open file correctly?  We would like to make our own adjustments.
