While using an adjustment brush, the "Alt" key (on Windows) temporarily selects the "Eraser" brush which is very convenient. However, the keyboard shortcuts "1"-"0" then no longer set the "Flow" value. Only if one explicitly chooses the "Eraser" brush one can set the flow strength with the keyboard shortcuts. Why doesn't "Alt" + set the flow value for the eraser brush? I reported this before through the official Adobe feedback form but like many other submissions I made it didn't result in a response yet.
I have some problems with orientation in combination with external editing. - I import my CR2-files in Lightroom (5D II files, full size, DNG or CR2 doesn't matter) - I go to Develop - I right click and do Transform -> Flip Horizontal - I right click and do Edit In -> Edit In Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1 - In Photoshop, the photo opens upside down and I have to rotate the image 180 degrees, to get it right. The problem exists in Lightroom < 3.3, 3.4, 3.4.1 but also in 3.5 RC. A video (sorry for the grey scrambled first seconds) from the february situation of 3.3 is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYk4bf... I have a fuji X70 camera. I've updated Ps, Bridge, and Lr. Bridge still cannot open Fuji file. Dialog box message tells me to "make sure you have the latest camera raw updates installed via Help>updates . . . " However the only time I find that I can bring up Camera Raw is by selecting a raw file from one of my cameras that the app supports. And then I still can not find a way to upgrade Camera Raw. Can some help?
Why the .118? Shouldn't it be exactly 12 x 18, which is proportionate to the aspect ratio of 2 x 3?
My image tile is laid out as follows:p00 p01 p02 p03p10 p11 p12 p13p20 p21 p22 p23p30 p31 p32 p33When using a RowInterleaveFactor = 2, the order within the file becomes:p00 p01 p02 p03 p20 p21 p22 p23 p10 p11 p12 p13 p30 p31 p32 p33When using a SubTileBlockSize = (2, 2), the order within the file becomes:p00 p01 p10 p11 p02 p03 p12 p13 p20 p21 p30 p31 p22 p23 p32 p33(This is neat, if you want to use a 4-channel predictor for compressing Bayer-patterned data)When combining both (why-ever), the order of their application matters:Row-interleaving first temporarily results in:p00 p01 p02 p03p20 p21 p22 p23p10 p11 p12 p13p30 p31 p32 p33Sub-tiling afterwards:p00 p01 p20 p21 p02 p03 p22 p23 p10 p11 p30 p31 p12 p13 p32 p33But sub-tiling first temporarily results in something like:p00 p01 p10 p11p02 p03 p12 p13p20 p21 p30 p31p22 p23 p32 p33Row-interleaving afterwards:p00 p01 p10 p11 p20 p21 p30 p31 p02 p03 p12 p13 p22 p23 p32 p33(this feels plain wrong!)Which result is expected? The DNG specification allows "Type SHORT or LONG", but the default value is defined to be "1.0 for floating point images"Is FLOAT or DOUBLE allowed for this field, or has this field to be omitted in such a case?A similar question arises for some other fields that aren't allowed to hold a FLOAT or DOUBLE but should be able to (IMHO): BlackLevel, BlackLevelDeltaH, BlackLevelDeltaV, LinearizationTableProfileToneCurve is a good example where this has already been allowed.
The DNG-specification says: "If BitsPerSample is not equal to 8 or 16 or 32, then the bits must be packed into bytes using the TIFF default FillOrder of 1 (big-endian), even if the TIFF file itself uses little-endian byte order."Assume I want to encode two 12-bits values r and g (where r11 is the MSB of r and r00 is the LSB). How would the bytes look like? (in my example the bits of each byte are listed as usual from MSB (#7) to LSB (#0))Big endian file ('MM') and FillOrder = 10x0000: r11 r10 r09 r08 r07 r06 r05 r040x0001: r03 r02 r01 r00 g11 g10 g09 g080x0002: g07 g06 g05 g04 g03 g02 g01 g00Little endian file ('II') and FillOrder = 10x0000: r07 r06 r05 r04 r03 r02 r01 r000x0001: r11 r10 r09 r08 g03 g02 g01 g000x0002: g11 g10 g09 g08 g07 g06 g05 g04In previous specifications (TIFF 4.0 - 6.0) FillOrder itself has never been described very well for images with more than 1 bits per sample. So just for my understanding: If FillOrder = 2 would have been allowed in DNG, I'd assume the follow
Trying to install updated Camera Raw for my CS5 (current camera raw is not compatible with my Canon 6D).I tried installing Camera Raw 9.9 and 9.5 and both said they were successful with installation, however, in Photoshop it still shows I have an old camera raw version. I have tried quitting photoshop and restarting my mac, but camera raw still does not update in photoshop.Help!Thank you
Adobe products wont open converted DNG files from Canon EOS 70D. Other RAW editors open it just fine. It happen because of "wrong" exif data. If you rename exif data from "Canon 70D" to for example "Canon 60D", it opens fine.
I'm having consistent issues with the Lightroom profile corrections for my Nikon 24-120mm f/4 (on a D750). The vignetting correction is inaccurate and produces white arcs inset from the corners of the photos, which are most noticeable in shots with a blue sky. It becomes especially problematic when I'm doing an HDR or applying higher levels of Clarity or Dehaze. I cranked up the Dehaze to 100 to accentuate it in this image.
One of my favorite features in LR/PS was the ability to quickly export a set of images from LR into Photoshop using the Open as Smart Object in Photoshop which would create a new PS document with a smart object layer composed of the exported images. Thus I could use the Smart Objects > Stack Modes to do time lapse composites or various other effects with the various stack modes. This stopped working with the latest updates to LR/PS in CC. Now I have to export them into PS as layers which is much more tedious and time consuming when all I really need is them to be referred to via the smart object. Please bring back the proper behavior. It would be best to have it go to a single smart object layer OR perhaps with the shift key to modify the behavior to individual documents with each image as a smart object but for my needs, I usually want to export the whole batch into a single smart object layer. I know many photographers use this tool and we've been teaching it to others for awhile
In recent previous versions of ACR the ACR interface followed whatever the UI was set to in Photoshop. This seem to be no longer true, no matter what I do the UI in ACR 9.8 is black. The only time it follows the UI set in Photoshop is when I go back to ACR as a filter. I hate the black interface is there someway around this?
Dear allI was reading about some findings Lloyd Chambers pointed out:https://diglloyd.com/blog/2017/20170312_1514-HasselbladX1D-high-ISO-bug.html://Does anyone have an explanation if ACR has a flaw?
How do I get to see filmstrip in Camera Raw 9.8 ? This is for working on more than one file and being able to synchronize. I saw that if I open several files through the Bridge it shows me the filmstrip. Is that the only way ?
I am currently using Photoshop Elements 7 and have Camera RAW Plug-In version 4.5.0.175. I need to update my plug-inversion to read and edit RAW images taken with my Nikon D7200. I'm having a really difficult time even finding a place tostart. I just downloaded Adobe DNG Converter 9.9 (which does support my camera model) but it seems to have hadno effect - I still can't open my RAW files. Does anyone know where I can find the right plug-in?
I'm on the most recent version of CC and I'm still having issues when adjusting my sliders in ACR. It doesn't do it when I open the image up in PS.I have a PC desktop running Windows 10. It is under 2 years old, and has 16GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 584GB free out of 921GB. The last time I shut down was just before posting this thread. I have also ran Ccleaner with no improvement. I have also unchecked the Use Graphics Processor. That seemed to help a bit but not much, it's still very difficult to edit. Below is a screen shot of what happens when adjusting the sliders.[Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Moved from generic Cloud/Setup forum to Camera Raw forum... The same raw files I opened yesterday will not open today since I updated Camera Raw CC. Why? What do I do to fix it? Deadline looming!
Hi,I recently recovered deleted images using EasUS data recovery software (professional version). I am able to open some of the recovered images in CC2017, but others from the same folder I can't. When I try the following message appears "Photoshop cannot open this file....make sure that you have the latest camera raw update installed". I have checked this, and I do have the latest software installed
I own an older version of Adobe, Photoshop CS6, tried to download Camera raw 9.8 to process RAW ".ARW" pictures from my new Sony ILCA-99M2. I use Window10, I downloaded Adobe Digital Negative Converter Version 9.8.0.692 as described in the instructions for older version CS6. And from the DNG Converter "Select Folder", after selecting the folder, it did not recognize the .ARW images in that folder "No items match your search"!! Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks for your help.
DankeFrank

I need ACR updated for the Fuji GFX 50s.
In yesterday's version (6.9) the problem with auto applying the lens correction profile for the Batis 85 was solved. But the profile itself is still problematic. In my opinion the distortion correction that the profile applies is way too much. From slight pincushion it takes the photo to a big barrel distortion. Furthermore, the vignetting correction is way off. It can be tested on a gray, even image. The resulting corners will be too bright compared to the center after the correction.
Hello, I have Photoshop CS6 and Premiere Pro CC. Now, do I need the latest version of Photoshop CC to also have the latest and best version of Adobe Camera Raw? I first had the Adobe Camera Raw editor available to me when I purchased Photoshop CS6, so does that mean those two programs are interconnected? In other word, do I have the latest version of Camera Raw CC even though my latest version of Photoshop is CS6? Adobe's Phone support and chat support did not seem to understand what I was asking. Please let me know if my question is still unclear.
