14.4 version is missing Brightness slider. Is this because of similarities with Exposure slider, hence the removal.
This is so frustrating. I'm a full-time photographer on a $6,000 Windows 10 laptop. Historically, ACR opens very fast for me. Yesterday, out of left field and for seemingly no reason at all, ACR now opens slow, and will crash multiple times during an editing session. I've been searching for answers and going through old support threads...no idea why this is happening but issues like this sure are a common theme for working professionals who entrust their time to Adobe (I've lost a dozen hours at least so far this year troubleshooting this and other PS or Premier issues.) Any pointers on where I should be looking here? Does ACR create a crash log with any usable data? Any helps is appreciated.
Hello, I use an Apple Macbook with Retina display. When using various types of software, Photoshop included, with a bluetooth mouse, I have a more or less constant scroll correspondence between all applications except Camera Raw. On it I have thumbnails set vertically to the left of the screen and scrolling through them is very awkward because everything seems to move much slower than all the other activities I run on the Mac, to scroll just a couple of thumbnails I have to spin the mouse wheel numerous times. This also happens when vertically scrolling the image you are working on zoomed to 100%, but to a much lesser extent. The operating system settings do not correct this behavior because they affect all mouse/trackpad behavior, thus compensating for Camera Raw, everything else is unusable. Is there a solution/setting internal to Camera Raw to solve the problem or should I wait for some kind of bugfix?
Hi!I have noticed that after installing Camera Raw 15.1 with my PS 2023, the psd files that I usually save duing my work became 3-4 times larger in size, and the save time of psd files became very slow. Usually my files are around 100-150mb, but after they became 400-500mb. Originally I thought it had something to do with the PS version, but after doing several tests and trying different settings, I realized that downgrading to Camera Raw 14.5 was the solution for my issue. My psd files went back to the original smaller size and the save time of psd files became a lot faster.Something that I wanted to bring up and see if anyone else experienced this issue.I am currently using PS v 24.1.1 on macOS Ventura 13.2.1.
I've been playing around with the HDR feature in ACR and the biggest problem I'm having is figuring out how to actually view the HDR images after I save them as AVIF files. Loading them into Preview on the Mac just shows a flat SDR image, and loading them into Google Chrome does show an HDR image, but it's nowhere near as "HDR" as it appeared in Photoshop or ACR. The highlights are much dimmer and areas that I allowed to get blown out suddely appear correct. It is as though Chrome is knocking the exposure or at least highlites of the image down to reduce the brightness. Like I said, however, it's still in HDR - way better than the obvious SDR version, but it doesn't look anything like what I see in Photoshop. I'm doing this all on my MacBook Pro with 1600nits peak brightness. Any idea what may be happening? Are there other apps for the Mac that support HDR AVIF files? I wonder if they'll look the same. I don't know if the issue is wi
Hello! Mac Studio M1 Max after upgrading to Ventura 13.0.1 noticed such a thing. Photoshop 24 starts normally, but when you try to open any file (no matter raw or jpeg), it crashes. Presumably this is due to Camera Raw 15, since downgrading to 13 can open files without crashing. Also Lightroom 12.1 does not even start, it immediately crashes. Someone faced a similar problem? At the same time, on a MacBook Air M1 on Ventura 13.0.1, Photoshop and Lightroom work fine. Maybe the problem is in the camera is equal to 15 and Apple M1 Max? And when you manage to open a file with version 13 of the camera raw and try to make enhanced detailing, an inscription appears that my video card (and this is on a mac studio) is not compatible with the metal chip. Maybe there are owners of mac studio who can help me?
Hi there,I have been using adobe photoshop 2020 & lightroom for many years for my own hobby. But in recent months I have notice when I go to use the Camera Raw to edit my photos in Photoshop 2020 it always rotates my images vertically. Which is annoying when trying to edit landscape images.I have tried the CRTL + L or R keys but nothing happens. There is no crop tool available either.I thought about downloading an older version of Camera raw when it use to work.
This may be specific to Nikon mirrorless Z-series cameras. When I go to edit a RAW file, the image file opens in ACR with the color profile selected that corresponds to the type of picture control selected in the camera. For example, if the in-camera setting is SD (standard) the profile selected as ACR opens is "camera standard v2" or "camera standard" (depending on the camera used). This to me is correct and what I would prefer. However, if I open the drop down menu what I see for selections are the adobe profiles, no camera profiles (see OpeningView.jpg). At that point if I select "adobe vivid" or any other in the menu, the profile changes to "adobe vivid" or whatever was selected (as it should). If I then open the drop down menu again, I again see the adobe profiles but the "camera standard" profile is not there --it essentially has disappeared (see NoCameraProfile.jpg). To select it again, I have to click on the button to the right of the profile window and navigate my way through
Is 9 seconds a reasonable amount of time for Camera Raw to open? I keep feeling that this is slow, but maybe i'm impatient. it's been this way for a while. I have a pretty good system too.I tried a bunch of things already w no change: GPU hardware accel on vs off, reinstalling programs including the ACR plugin, exlcuding all adobe folders from virus scanning, opening files (either CR2 or JPEG) from local vs network drives, opening one vs several files at once, opening from File Explorer vs Bridge — always the same time for it to launch. Caches/scratch for all adobe programs are set to local M.2 drives. Everything else seems ok tho -- happy with performance once it's open.ACR v 15.2.0.1381AMD Threadripper 3960X64 GB RAMNVIDIA 3080 Ti
1. Raw files are processed in ACR (15.1.1); masks can be created and renamed.2. the processed raw file is then processed by DxO PureRaw and a new dng raw file is generated3. the generated dng is opened again in ACR; new masks can be created; Existing masks prior to the treatment in PureRaw or newly created masks cannot be renamed. The masks of the dng raw files generated by PureRaw can be renamed in Adobe Lightroom. The problem does not occur if I export a dng in ACR between step 1 and Step 2 Under Windows 10 64bits
Dear community and Adobe Support,in recent versions of CameraRaw it automatically did some tonemapping prior to opening the image. In v15 this behaviour has been switched (and no tonemapping seems to be applied on opening an .exr).Can this be turned off to fall back to the old behaviour? Is there any other way of getting the exact same Tonemapping behaviour prior to doing exposure/gamma adjustments in cameraraw?kind regards,Rasmus
Hi. I've just tested the AVIF HDR output on ACR 15.1 on Apple Silicon Macbook Pro. It seems broken when GPU acceleration is enabled. The exported images are distorted. When GPU acceleration is disabled in ACR, the HDR content cannot be displayed, but when exported it's correct - it is correctly display by supported browser (Chrome 108+) Br, Pawel
Hi All, First time posting, this issue has been annoying me since I picked up this new camera. Sony A7IV with sigma 24-70 2.8 DG DN A019 is under correcting vignette on wide 24mm end and over correcting on 70mm end. Almost like the vignette correction profile is backwards. See attached shots at 24, 35, 50 and 70. Lightroom is latest 12.0.1 release, camera is latest 1.11 firmware and lens is v.03 (tried updating to v.04 but sigma software wasn't cooperating, sigma says this update just allows MF assist). What I have tried: Turning all compensations on in camera Turning all except shading compensation on in camera (suggested on other posts) Turning all off in camera and selecting in lightroom once imported All give the same result. I have also tried switching correction profile versions which sometimes yields a better result at a certain focal length but it's hit and miss. Any one else having this issue or know of something I might be missing? &n

Hi all , I am using windows 10 & the newest version of Photoshop (Everything is Up-to-date) Camera Raw Version (Version 15.1.1) however doesn't actually show an image (just a grey screen) , all the buttons / sliders work , but I can't see what I'm changing ? Then after selecting "open" the image will show perfectly in Photoshop. I've tried resetting preferences (no change) I've tried both with & without the Graphics processor ... I'm not a Computer genius, I just want to edit some photos 🙂

Can anyone help? I have been using this converter and loved it. All of a sudden it is only showing a wide format aspect ratio when just days ago it was downloading and converting 4:3 with no problem. I am converting Sony ARW files to DNG.
Hi.I'm experiencing nasty bug with Content Aware Remove in ACR 15.x on older CPUs.In Lightroom Classic ACR (builtin) crashes with "illegal instruction" exception (0xC000001D) due to use of SSE4.2 instruction which my CPU doesn't have.If started from Bridge - ACR crashes with the "illegal instruction" exception (0xC000001D) at the same code, and then with the "stack overflow" exception (0xC00000FD) and Bridge dies.As I can see ACR have different code paths for various CPU features present, at least code pathes for SSE2 and SSE4.2 are present.Everything else apart from Content Aware Remove works just fine.CPU is pretty capable with 6 cores at 4.0 GHz, it's just an AMD CPU and it have SSE3 and SSE4a at maximum, no SSE4.2Is it possible to make requirement of SSE4.2 optional as it was all the way before release of ACR 15?It's just a matter of one compiler switch after all...I can provide technical details on where exactly ACR crashes if this will help. This all happens under Windows 10 22H2
please help. And also, I can't find the adjustment brush in camera raw??
Hi CommunityI recently bought the Panasonic Lumix TZ-202D (the D at the end is important!). I found out, that the Raw files of this camera need at least Camera Raw 15.0, my Photoshop Elements 2022 contained only version 14 something. So, I downloaded the latest version 15.1 for Windows 10, restarted my notebook, started Photoshop 2022... but these Raw files could still not be edited. So I bought Photoshop Elements 2023, but this also comes with Raw 14 only! How do I tell Photoshop Elements 2023 to open the Raw files with the latest Camera Raw version 15.1? When I use the option 'Help > Install Camera Raw', nothing seems to happen; I still have Camera Raw 14 which is linked to Photoshop.Your help is much appreciated; thanks a lot.Best wishes for a happy New YearKurt
My camera raw is up to date but every 2nd photo I open in Camera Raw is sideways. I have deleted preferences but nothing is helping. This has only started happening with the last two updates. I'm on a Mac OS Montery 12.6.3. Any thoughts anyone?
Hello! I am learning how to learn Camera Raw through a college class and have run into an issue. I am missing the top toolbar and the image adjustment tab. I will include a screenshot of what I am seeing. The version I have is 12.3, which it says is the latest version. I am editing on a Windows computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, I am having the aforementioned problem. As a wedding photographer I am using two Canon cameras - EOS R6 and EOS R as a second body. On some ocasions I take pictures with both cameras almost simultaneously. The RAW files generated by these cameras are named diferently. When I open the files from both cameras in Camera Raw I sort the pictures by date taken and they all came in the right order, but when I am done editing and start exporting, the generated jpegs are not following that order. The program first reads and exports the files from my EOS R6, and then exports the files from my EOS R. The result is quite messy and really slows my workflow. Any help will be appreciated/
Can any one explain how I can convert older .lrtemplate BRUSHES to work in ACR?
Hi, I'm trying to locate the brush tool in my camera raw, but is just not there. What could be the problem?
