Captivate

Dear all, I am a complete newbie to this and am creating some very basic slides with audio narration on them.  I have made a back button and a next button with a third button for repeat.  The repeat button replays the audio (narration). I want the ability for the user to pause the narration and then resume.  I have tried putting in a button to pause and a button for resume.  When I tried that the audio started from the begining again.  So I tried making the skin visible with the play pause button and all this does is restart the audio from the begining again.  I am lost on this, does anyone have any ideas?  I must stress I am a beginner of beginners with this.  Best 

I have a subscription to Captivate 9, which I haven't downloaded yet. I'd like to install and download now, but when I go to the "Downloads for Captivate 9 Subscription Edition (one-year)" page, all I see are Captivate 8 downloads. (I already have Captivate 8 downloaded and installed.) How do I download Captivate 9?

Hello everyone, Does anyone know how to prevent one line from shrinking itself or just a question having a pop out? I cant find out, what is causing the issue or how to disable the pop ups you see below. Help! (Last photo is just another quiz slide that works fine. Below are the only two that are having issues) These are the built in quiz slides in captivate.   

I recently installed Captivate 9.0.1.320 after getting a new laptop. I previously had Captivate 9.0.0.223 on my old laptop with this hotfix: Hot fix for Adobe Captivate 9 issuesDo I still need to do that hotfix for Captivate 9.0.1.320 or is the hotfix already installed in this updated version?

I use Captivate 2019 to author and a Connect server owned by my company as the LMS.  All output is now HTML5 for security reasons with flash.I'd like to capture something as seemingly simple as the user's ID from the LMS but it's not happening.Connectusers.com seems to be a pretty dead forum now but there was a person who had the same problem I do: Adobe Connect User Community In that thread was a pointer to how to create a flash certificate that gets auto-populated with name, course, certificate number...all from Connect variables and listed those variables.  I created a flash certificate based on that some years ago, it works great....but its flash.Using those same Connect variables in Captivate, I get no response at all in an HTML5 project.  In fact, for the Captivate variables for Student ID or Name, no response.  Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, the server needs something done to it, or....?Would greatly appreciate some help with this.I created a simple p

HiThis is a really weird problem.I have 2 groups on the forst slide that is set to show for rest of slide.When I work on the project., saves it and continue working it works great. If I close the project and open it again, the two groups do not show on the first slide in captivate or when I preview the course. But they do show up on the rest of the slides.No idea whats going on here.

I have a video which has music on it at certain volume, a title and logo. I want to understand how I can create a sort of a style or a template of all three at exactly the same location and style to use on other videos.How do I do that?thanks

Hi everyone - So I exported the Porject Captions/Closed Captions into the .doc format as normal, those files went out for translations, came back as .docx files. Captivate is giving the option to import them back in, but nothing is importing, reads as 0. Is this because of the clients re-save?? is the path broken and is there anyway to fix other then copy/paste?? This is over 1200+ slides so I am trying to avoid that...  Thanks for the help! 

I have problems with VR. I can see it when I create a Virtual Reality project in Captivate 2019. However, I cannot see it in preview, or when it is published to the LMS and using the Chrome browser. It is visible and runs the published application through the LMS using Firefox. Our company uses Chrome as their default browser. We will in no way use Firefox. Used various browsers and Firefox worked. But I need it to work in Chrome. I noticed on another thread, the followingTo confirm the same, open a responsive project by adding a web object in Captivate and adding the following link:https://get.webgl.org/ I see the rotating cube in authoring mode. This would seem to verify that the WebGL is functioning. I can also see my program in author mode. But when I try to preview the project through the LMS, I see a blank screen with the VR goggles in the upper left corner. I love the folks in this community. You all have helped me out multiple times in years past. Thank you.I just obtained a new job and had to continue the development of a Captivate file that was in progress when the prior Developer left and I'm having 2 issues that might be related. It was built as a Responsive Project I'm told. The file plays incorrectly on about 9 slides (Forward navigation button won't display) in both Preview --> HTML5 in Browser within Captivate and in the SCORM Cloud. 1. It's linear navigation with standard back and forward arrow graphics used as buttons. On about 9 or so of the slides, the Next button doesn't display the first time you enter the slide and the play head finishes on the timeline (I know it's finished because each audio clip plays completely on all of these slides) so there's no way to go further in the training. Hey Community,  I am creating a drag and drop content slide. there are 3 drag sources and 1 drop target. Upon dragging each source to the target it changes the state of a content box to reveal different information. We are using forced naigation to make sure all content is covered. I created 3 advanced actions assigning each header with 1 and upon clicking them to show the frw arw. but I can not give each header it's own action. Does anyone have an suggestions?

Hi,  I need help while working on creating presentations in adobe captivate when I duplicate a slice or if I copy and paste info from anywhere it generates a link into my presentation that repeats the same info that is already in the text box like a hyperlink that I did not create. How can I take it out ???

I have a problem that on the first slide. No script I add to "on load" is running.If I copy the first slides to another project it is running so its a bug in this project. No I cant copy all the slides to another project. I get fatal error every time.Any ideas whats going on?

I'd like to be able to upload my PPT slides in Notes Page view but they seem to only upload in Slide View. Is there a way to do this?

On the timeline the highlight box is above the animation but it disappears once the animation starts.  The animation I believe is in Animate and the highlight box is a smart shape.  They are using CP2019.

Hi All,I did  a brief search and didn't find anything pertaining to my question, so apologies if I am flagellating an expired equine. I have an hour-plus video that is being converted to eLearning. I need to included closed captioning. How are people handling closed captioning in Captivate? I understand that Captivate does not import CC files. There are services that provide transcripts that are machine-generated and machine-human generated. That helps. But is there a way to get these transcripts into Captivate other than copy/paste? Are there services that will handle transcription AND CC inclusion in a supplied Captivate file? The need for closed captions is an increasing demand on the work my area produces, so I am hoping to find a sustainable process rather than a one-off ad hoc that solves my immediate problem.... but will cheerfully accept an ad hoc to get this project out the door. Many thanks! Don

I am using Captivate 9 and am wondering if anyone in the community would be able to help since I can't seem to find information on this anywhere. I am working on a project where kids will be able to enter their names. However, I would like to create a script that will prevent them from entering profanities. I know how to do it using Advanced Actions, however, since the list is pretty long, it would take me an eternity to code that. I am having problems re-sizing buttons when placed on responsive grids. I know Captivate comes with auto-height and width options, but I can't find the way to use them on buttons, shapes, and text. The only two options I see when editing buttons is points and percentages. Can someone point me to the right direction?I changed the general preferences to autosize buttons and texts, but still buttons and shapes do not auto-resize.  Thanks

Initially thought this was a corrupted file, but any quiz slides, in any project created in Captivate 2019 do not render when viewed on an LMS.  Have tried two different LMSs Moodle and Oracle.  Other colleagues in my team can however see them and score correctly.   Any ideas why this may occur and what a solution may be would be appreciated.  Many thanks. 

Hello,I'm having a problem with sizing of text captions at different screen sizes in the generated preview of Responsive courses. I could not find an existing thread on this issue.I have the project at the default (1024x627) size for Desktop, and I'm also testing at the 768x627 size for iPad. My issue is:Text caption boxes are scaling incorrectly (becoming narrower than they should) when the screen is scaled using the top slider in the generated preview. I have attached a video showing an example slide with a Shape with text, an image, and a text caption below. This demonstrates:1. How the slide looks in Captivate's editor (the text caption works fine)2.
