Captivate

I am using Captivate 2019 and cant open any previously created files whether they be my own or something ive downloaded from the community. I get the error that alot of people seem to get.There are no "locked files" to delete as some of these are downlownloaded from the community nd never been opened. Any insight?

is there are way to get a MP4 video on a slide to continue automatically on its own when the video ends?

I want to re-download Captivate 19. My current version has a number of bugs. Where and how do i re-download?

Hello - please see the brief article below. It seems to say that my HTML or responsive course will not auto play in a browser. Captivate adds a "play button slide" to the top of my project to take me to the first slide. Hi all 🙂 I am working on a project for work and need to use our standard template. I would like to use one of the QSP slides but I'm wondering if I can change the slide so it matches the template. I want the interaction that's on the slide but I'd like it to be on one of the 'designed' blank slides in our template (it's essentially a blank slide with the header on it). I've tried a few things that my limited experience led me to think might work but none did.  Can this be done and, if so how? Thanks in advance!

Hi all 🙂 I posted this as a reply on a thread that is a few years old, and since I don't know if anyone will see it, I thought I'd start a new thread of it: I am using Captivate 2019 and I am trying to create custom failure messages on a multiple-attemp slide. I have a sequence quiz slide set to three attempts and I've got the failure messages drop down set to 3. I am trying to customize the messages so that:  - on the first failed attempt the user sees "Sorry, that's incorrect. Try again. You have two more attempts."- on the second failed attempt the user sees "Sorry, that's incorrect. Try again. You have one more attempt."- on the final failed attempt the user sees "Incorrect. the correct answer is _______. Click to continue." The problem is I click on the failure message drop down and choose 1. I customize the message, then go to the next one and do the same. I save the project and when I come back to the messages, the changes I made are not there. I

Using Captivate v9.0.1.324. I have a couple of projects that will not load in a browser when published as HTML5. When trying to load the index.htm page you see the loading icon (spinning circle) and that is all. I've tested with different browsers and on different computers and still have the same problem. The projects work just fine as SWF and there are no errors/notices in the HTML5 tracker.Unfortunately the site we use for review only allows Captivate projects to be published as HTML5 in a .zip package. Since the project never loads reviewers are unable to make any comments. I've googled and searched the Adobe forums and haven't found any solutions.Any suggestions on how to track the problem down would be greatly appreciated.

I created a Jeopardy game in Captivate 2017.   I made a mistake and I need to reconfigure some questions and answers.    I can't figure out how to get back to the "Configure Interaction" page where I entered all of my information!   What do I click? press?   HELP!

We edited images in photoshop and saved them to a new folder.  Then opened Captivate (2017) selected the new resource path (can see in Cap) but the images can only be manually updated.  In the past we could update the images using the new resource path all at once.   Suggestions? 

I have a few Slide and Interactive videos with Vimeo link in my project built in Captivate 2019. I publish the project to LMS (moodle).When the user reaches the slide with any of these videos on an iPhone or Ipad, I can see the 4 moving squares with the word 'loading...' showing over the squares. Loading process goes on for 5-7 sec (On window or Android devices there is no such delay lag and the video starts right away). Why this loading process is coming on iPhone and iPad only. Any idea? Once this loading process finishes, I can see the Play icon in the middle of the screen.Now the issue is video does not start to play if I hit the play icon, but it starts playing if I hit anywhere on the screen except the play icon. It is too annoying if you can't play with PLAY icon which is meant to play the video. Users are complaining 'there is something wrong with video'.Is it normal behaviour on iPad or Iphone? Any information on this issue by anyone?

Hi All,I have recently been working on a Captivate project with an outside vendor. I got the final source files today. Overall, it looks great, but occasionally when I go to start a demo/sim, I get a screen that says "This Project Has Expired". I checked the Preference for Start and End, and the expiration box/settings weren't configured. Any thoughts? Thanks!

In Captivate, I have successfully published an executable file, but when I try to share the file it shows an error that states the file is damaged or I do not have permission and check with computer admin(I am the admin). I am using the trial version before purchasing full version. The file I am trying to share after publishing is a sample file, I'm trying to show my investors to help with purchase of the software.

Is this possible? We created two large, basic modules for a client and now they are asking if we can convert it to ppt.. Is this possible? I am using Captivate 9. Thanks for the info!

I inserted a slide video that fades to white. I inserted it to Captivate and published as HTML5. When viewing the project in my browser, that same video fades to black. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hello, I know how to change the duration of a slide and the transition to the slide. But I cant seem to find how to change the speed of the transition. If I want the fade to my slide to take 2 seconds where do I tweak that?

Captivate 11.5.4.613I've created a quiz that contains three hot spot slides.  In the published output—and only on hte hot spot slides—all of the buttons are jumping around in the down state.  The submit button jumps down (almost off the screen) and to the right. During the quiz review, both of the built-in review mode navigation buttons do the same, they move quite drastically in the down state.  I've tried removing the down state from these buttons altogether, it makes no difference.  Has anyone else run into this?  My next step would be to remove these buttons entirely and manually program smart shapes as buttons, just to see if it makes a difference. However while it's pretty easy to manually recreate the review mode buttons, is it even possible to replace the submit button? I created captivate files to embed into my powerpoint presentation, but now they show up as "This project has expired".  Is there any way to update the files with the product key without recreating all of the demonstrations?

Is it possible when creating a responsive project to add a PHONE gesture menu for the students to view before continuing on with their content?I know that I could simply screenshot the image on my phone and add it as my first slide but I was wondering if there was anything built into the software that shows them a little more "in your face" than the small icon that appears before they play the project on their phone. Thanks. 

How do you get captivate to pronounce Greek letters and Roman numerals?  I tried to modify the dictionary:   Here I am trying to get it to pronounce linearity correctly.  When I try to save it, it will not let me save it.   Why?    Is this the right way to do it?  I am using neo speech Julie.  There are a few words it does not pronounce correctly like linearity, but I also need greek letters and roman numerals also. I have captivate 11.5.5.676. 

Hello, We ar currently working on a Software Simulation exercise in which the learner has to enter and then re-enter numbers into Captivate text entry boxes. The TEBs are singular elements in the file, nothing is copy/paste. We put the simulations into Storyline and publish. When running on Edge, the first TEB works fine, but the next captivate slide has the second TEB and when you type the first number the whole number pops up underneath, so oyu can select it instead of typing it, autofill style. We have mutliple of these try it exercises and if you go through them all, the values from the previous try its are displayed in a list underneath the TEB elements. We do not want this to happen, we want everything to always be blank, with no suggestions so the learner has to enter manually every time with no help.

In my Captivate project I have 5 "pretest" multiple choice questions. Then I have drag/drop and fill-in-the-blank questions in the middle. Those questions all work as intended. Now I am creating one multiple choice question slide at the very end of my Captivate project, and it is not working as intended. This is what I did:I added 1 graded multiple choice slide.In the "Quiz" tab, I enable: Captions > Correct; Buttons > Back; Buttons > Skip; On Success > Continue; Infinite attempts; Retry message; Failure Messages > None. In each multiple choice answer choice, I copied and pasted text from my other questions such that the font and colors match. When I publish my project and test this slide, I select the correct answer choice and click "Submit". The text that says "Correct - click anywhere or press 'y' to continue" does NOT appear. Nothing pops up, and the next slide is shown after ~1 second. I am pretty sure that I have this question set up exactly the same

Hello, I am semi new to Adobe and I am having a slight problem and wondering if I could get some help. Once my project reaches the very last slide the playbar at the bottom wont go to the end. Any reason why or is it something in my settings?

I have Captivate 9, and when I publish to the executable format, it looks  for Flash, and obviously cannot open.  How can I publish a course to be reviewed by my client without publishing  to an LMS?

Hi everybody, I need help with Adobe Captivate. I created a quiz (Scorm) and this scorm is embedded in a learning program in crossknowledge with some videos (iframe). The problem is, once the user has finished the quiz it doesn't appear as finished in the crossknowledge program. So a user can do the whole program, all videos are shown as "done" but not the quiz. I tried with Scorm 2004 and scorm 1.2 and different settings, but nothing works. One quiz is just a prequiz to find out the adapted learning program, another one is a final test where people need to achieve 80% to succeed. So I have different types of quizzes and different settings, but none is shown as "done" in the learning program. Anybody any idea what I should do? I don't know much about Captivate so every hint would be helpful. Thanks in advance! 

Hi-- Does Captivate 2019 (11.5.1.499) automatically call LMSFinish in the API when the SCO is closed or it's finished or do I need to trigger it somehow? I've just finished a SCO and I never saw the LMSFinish function called. Thank you!/kevin
