Captivate

Hello, I've been making materials in Captivate for a year, exporting in html and uploading to an LMS to Cambridge University Press, in a very satisfactory way. Now I'm trying the same with a 360 virtual reality project but I have the problem that when I publish the html and open the downloaded "index", I can´t see the project correctly, only a black screen with the control buttons. From the pptx file, in preview mode, I can see it, but when I publish it, there is no way. I've tried in Chrome 70 and Safari and nothing. I do not know if it is necessary to touch some parameter of the publishing configuration or what ?. However I have seen some web where this vr projects are published and they work and they look good. Any ideas? Thank you!!

I was wondering if you can help me? One of our modules has an issue in Captivate. There is a slide on top of each if quiz slides, but we cannot see an object in the timeline or in the master slide, and cannot remove them (same random slide on top of each slide, not the slide before quiz either). The next button etc aren't working in the quiz so cannot move on in the preview mode during the quiz. Also I published the module but not getting the update link so not updating the old version in the elearning platform (CP) and also tried the elearning publish button that previously worked for me.

Hello. I'm looking for some JS help. I've seen a few other posts on this issue but decided to start a new thread to not cause confusion. Here's my situation: I have tweaked the CPLibraryAll.css file to style my ordered list <li> tags with custom numbers. When learners select a RTL language, I need those styled numbers to reposition to the right. I have created a class for this. Where I am stuck right now is that I need to apply this class to those <li> elements.  I tried executing JS on my first slide when a user selects and presses the RTL language (in this case Arabic) button. Here is the code used: var element = document.getElementById("swap"); element.classList.add("rtllist"); "swap" is the id I gave my <li> and "rtllist" is the class I have setup. I have this code being executed on slide 1 and the first instance where my targeted list items are is on slide 5. Is this part of the issue? I could be going about this the wrong way, so I'

When we are recording a simulation it always defaults to a pearl theme. Is there a way to change this so that it defaults to a white theme while recording?

How can I set the x and y coordinates on a motion path so that the path ends at a precise location?I have 3 objects on a slide that I want to move and left-align. I've been using the trial-and-error method of adjusting the motion path arrows, previewing, and then moving the arrows again, but that is tedious and unexact. It would be much better if I could just set the desired coordinates.I thought maybe I could edit the xml file, but I'm a long ways from being advanced enough to understand what I'm looking at so I don't know if that's even possible. I'm using CP 6.0, if that matters.Thanks for your help.Dan

Gentlefolk,This may have been mentioned, but I have not seen it covered in a casual search of this forum. Feel free to redirect me. The idea of copy/paste to create a closed caption seems soooo 2010. Speech to Text has improved dramtically - who types text messages any more? But I don't see a speech to text function in Captivate that will take an audio file and do a rough cut closed caption with all the timing hacks needed to keep the two files - audio and CC - in synch. There are third-party vendors who do create closed captions from audio files, but apparently Captivate can't side-load these files. Am I missing something very, very obvious that only I am totally of? This is not the first time I have failed to find the obvious, but an automated Speech to Text function seems very obvious to me. Many thanks for any thoughts! Don

So, one of my former co-workers' project got sent to me when she left our team.She published an eLearning with several learning activities from prior versions of Captivate, like the Jeopardy game. It was originally published as both HTML5/SWF in Captivate 2017, and republished in Captivate 2019 as HTML5 only.These interactions work fine in the course preview, but users going through the published version in the LMS are reporting the entire course hangs when trying to start an interaction and won't proceed further.This isn't my course, but I'm being asked to fix it if possible. I'm reading up on this - from what I've seen, these interactions are supposed to be HTML5 compatible and not SWF-dependant, so I'm not even sure where to begin addressing the problem.

Hey everyone,I'm not sure what to do...there are NO BUTTONS in Review Quiz...so basically, at the end of the quiz, I click the Review Quiz button and I see if the question was answered correctly or not...but there's no NEXT/SKIP or buttons of any kind...what did I not set correctly?FYI...the quiz is 30 Pool questions (3 questions each--and yes, it took two days to do 90 questions)...I'm only using the "Submit" button on the quiz slides with the "User MUST answer the question to continue" in the Quiz Prefs...I know its not much to go on, but its what I got...I know I did/omitted something elementary...or is this an issue because of the number of pooled questions?Thanks to anyone with aid or suggestions.

Our learners recently received surface pro  2 tablets. The captivate projects that we had created were working fine on desktop with chrome browsers. On the surface pro, the drag and drop interactions within our e-learnings only move a centimeter or two and then bounce back to the original position. The learner is unable to progress through the e-learning. Does anyone know about this and have a solution?

I just discovered today that my production laptop docking station will not allow me to create or edit VR projects in Captivate - standard projects work fine. This is known issue in Captivate - I just didn't know it until today.Does anyone have a laptop docking station that will run multiple monitors and Captivate successfully for VR projects? While I can unplug from the dock and connect a single monitor, my two 27-inch monitors is an absolute must for me. Reconfiguring my workstation for different projects is just not practical.Thank you.

I have published an project as HTML 5 (NOT SWF) and Moodle won't play the project because of flash error. I've attached a screenshot of the error the browser is giving. This project was not published in Captivate 2017.

Hi,I'm attempting to add JavaScript to a button so that when the trainee hits it, it will open an email.  My I.T. department has provided me with the language of the script. function () {var subject = "Subject";var body = "Body";window.open('mailto:sampleemail@yahoo.com?subject=subject&body=body');}I placed it into the Script_Window and put the action as Execute JavaScript.  I then publish it as HTML, but when we get to the button and hit it, the training just continues on without opening the email.  I've done everything the user guide says and am told the script is correct.  What else am I missing?  Thanks!

I have a video that show the user how to use a website. I have the steps listed on the left side of the video. I  would like for each step to turn from grey to black as the video talks about that step. Is there a way to do this? 

I'm attempting to bring in a particular slide from the Assets library and it's inserting a totally different slide many times from a totally different theme.   I tested with many different slides and themes, some slides come in as expected, others bring in the wrong slide.   Any others experiencing this weirdness?  Any fixes?   Thanks, Ronda.

Hello,I will be the first to say I do not understand how to use Advanced Actions. I had a work friend that helped me but she is no longer with my company. She helped me build a slide (we will call it Stock_Layout slide) that has an introduction and then four buttons that the user clicks to go to a new slide. Once on the new slide, the user will listen to the information, once it is done, the user is taken back to the Stock_Layout slide. We created a Time_stamp with cpinfocurrentframe action so the intro on the Stock_layout doesn't run again. The user will click through the remaining three, each taking the user back to the Stock_layout slide. Once they are done with all of the sections on the Stock_layout slide, I want them to go to the next slide called Mutual_layout, where they will do the exact same thing that they did on the Stock_layout.  I created a button for the user to click to go to the Mutual_layout. I am having trouble publishing to video.  I continue to get a swf complitation failed.  I get this message even with publishing a blank presentation to video, so I know it has nothing to do with actionscript.  I've tried Adobe technical support and every solution I could find on the boards and was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.  So far I've:- reinstalled Captivate twice this week (once on my own, once with Adobe support) and updated to the latest version 11.5.5.553- updated the .ini file with Use32BitJVMForPublish = 1 and 32BitJVMForPublish = 1- deleted cache, preferences, all temp files I need an .mp4 format so I am not sure what to try next.

I created a responsive project with some 360 images. In the published html5 output, I can move around in the images using my mouse but not using my finger on the touchscreen. I can click the interactions with my finger on the touchscreen, but I can't pan the image. Is being able to pan the images on a touchscreen supported?

We are republishing some of our older Captivate training (SWF) as HTML5.  A few of the modules published with a pdf and some swf files.  This message shows up as they are publishing. They of coure won't run in our LMS as it wont connect to Adobe.  I can't figure out where this is comming from and how to stop it.  3 of 7 modules did it today and we have a lot more to republish.  We have been able to copy and paste into a new file for two of them to fix the issue so far but the third may need to be rebuilt.  Any insight would be appreciated.  

Hello Captivate Community:I have a Captivate 2019 file with two branches. The table of contents slide has two buttons: one jumps to the slide for the first branch (slides 2-10) and the other jumps to the second branch (slides 11-20). There are also a few other buttons that help to navigate between the table of contents slide and the two lessons) When previewed, the buttons all work just as expected. However, when I view them in Branching View, the branching does not show. It just appears as a straight line (picture below). What could be causing this?Thanks in advance for your assist!

Hello, I've got an issue, where the captivate course doesn't resume when started for the second time and actually doesn't start at all anymore. During trial and error we removed the randomized quiz which is in the course and then the resuming function works again. Unfortunately we cannot take the quiz out and are looking for a solution.  Another interesting fact is, while doing trial and error, an export with the same file on a 'Trial' account of Captivate worked perfectly, but these exports expire after a month. We are working with Captivate 2019 (64bit).  Does anybody know about any workarounds for this issue? Thanks! 

After updating to Captivate 9 the text spacing makes the text overlap.  I have tried to change the spacing and the minimum setting is 2.2 and cannot be reduced. Is there a default setting that needs to be changed?
