Captivate

Hi, I'm building a Virtual Reality project with Captivate. It's a virtual exhibition in an artist's studio. Next to paintings and sculptures on the 360background I placed a number of hotspots which will display either images or videos. Important issue here is that the whole project is not particularly an E-learning project, rather it is simply a Virtual Reality experiment. Hence I want to get rid of those green/white ticks which are displayed once a hotspot has been clicked/gazed. Like these:I tried to overwrite in the published module in assets/htmlimages the following files (which in my opinion represent the green ticks) with empty/purely transparent items:assessmenthotspotvisited.pngassessmenthotspotvisited.svgassessmenthotspotvisited@2x.pngBut then after the first selection and consequently deselection of the displayed image the whole project stops and I get this error in the browser's web console:Uncaught DOMException: An attempt was made to use an object that is not, or is n

I can no longer import PowerPoint into Captivate (2017). I have previously been able to do so, but it stopped working for me recently (as of yesterday). Every time I try to import a PPT (anything from 1 slide up to an entire presentation), Captivate freezes on me. I have to open my computer's Task Manager and end the Captivate task manually in order to shut it down. It will NOT respond and it does not import.Once Captivate has been shut down manually, I can reopen it and it reacts normally again...until I try to import PPT. Is anyone having the same issue or does anyone know what might be happening?

I have created a project in Captivate from PowerPoint for training purposes. It has timings, auto transitions and quizzes. How can I publish it to staff for thier use if they do not have access to Adobe Captivate and we do not have an LMS at this time. Thank you.

Hi all, I am now working on 360 slides and I am wondering if we can assign transition between slides. Basically I am now making a virtual tour and without a transition between slides, the changes are really rough. Thank you in advance

Hello!!I am having an issue with the Drop down widget. I am trying to mimic a webpage and have my users actually choose the options and I was using the drop down widget to do that. However, when I go to preview my project now it says that it is not HTML 5 compatible. Since Flash is going away here in a few weeks why is that even an option? Also, does anyone have any ideas or alternatives? Thank you!!!!!!

In edit mode, I have set my slides to "fade" transition from slide to slide. When I preview the slides, the fade transition works fine.However, when I publish the slides, there is no fade (or any kind of) transition.Any thoughts as to what I am missing?

Hello Everyone! We are looking at using Captivate to create simulations for training. On the front-end we are using Windows 10. What is required on the back end (where you publish) to create web based viewing of simulations? Is it just a normal web server or do you need to use Adobe Connect? 

I've spent half of my afternoon scouring the internet to figure out how to do this, with no luck so far...I need to have a text entry box where the user is required to enter text before they can click the "submit" button.  Initially I tried to do this with a short answer question slide, where I could simply employ the "incomplete" caption, but the text entry needs to be multiple-line, and scrolling if necessary.  Short answer slides are not the answer.For a default text entry box, the "submit" button is clickable even if the box is empty. How do I (and is it even possilbe) set up a TEB requirement for something (anything) to be entered before the "submit" button is accessible?Thank you!! 

When i use some of the interactions my captivate project just shuts down?  Captivate also shuts down when I have been working on it the whole day and my laptop gets hot.  Why is this happening as I am losing work and am not sure whether it can be recovered.    

I keep getting a fatal error every time I try to publish to an exe in Captivate 2019.  I can open the project, view the project and preview but I cannot publish to an exe.  I was able to do it this morning, made a few small spelling changes and now it crashes every time.  What can I do?

Hello! I have a wierd question that I can't get resolved. I have many slides in my project that look fine in edit:But when i go to preview, It turns the text grey....They are not happy about it and I can't figure out why it's doing it...Has this happened to anyone before??? Thank you!!!!

Hi, I'm editing another developers captivate project file (.cptx) in Captivate 9, and when i look in the library there are a lot of images/ swf and audio that when i look at its usage - says its being used in the "(Project template)have looked through the whole file, and cannot find any of these slides in either the Filmstrip or the master slides... I would ideally like to clean this all up and delete things... but just wondering where on earth this is... I know you can create projects from templates and/or you can create a project template... but is there somewhere embedded within a project file where the project file seems to live/fit.  From my perusal it seems like this particular project file has been through a number of iterations and multiple authors and most of them just seem to keep leaving all the edits and legacy material inside the file. Making it really padded out. So my OCD just wants to clear it out.  Any thoughts as to why i might see this throughout? Than

HI!My team recently updated to 2019 Captivate and was excited about the new assets, especially updated slides and layouts.  I have downloaded the elearning assets extension and restarted Captivate, however when I go to assets, nothing is showing up.  Does anyone know if this won't work if you are connected to a network with firewall protection?  Any suggestions or troubleshooting would be great!  Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,I accidentally selected Audio>Record To>Slide Background. I meant to just select Slide. Is there a way to exit out of this window without Force Quiting Captivate? I have done a lot of work and haven't saved lately. Here is a screenshot of the window that popped up. I didn't want this at all.Please help!

Hello, I am wondering if video can be inserted into an overlay instead of a graphic or a quiz?  If so, how?  Thank you for any help you can provide.

I have created a small software simulation and am needing to publish it for viewing on an IOS or Android mobile device. The only "help" I could find said I needed to save as a responsive project before publishing. However, the options to publish do not give me any options for a viewable video format, only an HTML5 and that does not work for us. There is an option to publish as an app, but that again is not a workable option for us.  I am also attempting to save as a normal file and not as a responsive project but cannot find a way to do that. Is it possible to "Un-save" as a responsive? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am working with a new template.  I recorded a software simulation demo.  When I reviewed, the simulation showed the mouse movement and text captions.  It did not show the screen I was demoing.  Instead, the slide (from a master) displayed. I tried opening a new file with no master slides or theme.  I was able to capture the entire demo.  I tried to import it into my original, but once again, the software I am demoing doesn't show, only the mouse action and captions. Any suggestions?    

I have the test version of captivate 2019, but unlike my peers, i can't open any document that was created by them. I can only open what i created.

This option does not exist in CP7, does anybody know how to stop it moving forward in the timeline as soon as i've dragged the first box in a drag and drop quiz for CP7?  

Is it still available for Captivate 2019 Release?

Hi, I'm using Captivate 2017 and have many projects where they link to subprojects (using the 'open URL or file, and then putting the published project in the callees folder, and selecting 'new' - so it opens in a new tab).  This has always worked perfectly and uploaded into our LMS perfectly.  It does now not seem to work, we have recently changed our UI in prepration for the flash leaving, (amongst other reasons).  When the main project is launched from the LMS it opens as a popout window.  When the sub-project opens from the main project, it  opens back on the LMS tab, so that when you close the subproject it closes the entire LMS, rather than just that tab?Suspect it may be an LMS setting... it works correctly when just launching locally (without the LMS).  Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem.thanks

Hi all. I need some help. I keep having this issue, I reach out to Adobe Captivate support, they fix it, and then a few days later, same issue! I try to launch Captivate and am hit with a message that certain theme files failed to open, that I should ty manually copying them and then launch. Only it doesnt work. Why do I keep having this issue? Support is closed today for some reason and unavailable to assist. Help? 

I'm trying to report {score} and the other standard variables from the Quiz Results page to our custom LMS by posting to an api endpoint, can anyone help? I assume by adding an Execute JavaScript action to On Enter of the Quiz Results page, like this?  var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest(); xhr.open("POST", endpoint, true); xhr.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/json'); xhr.send(JSON.stringify({ score: 'score', accuracy: 'percent' })); I'm trying to use SCORM, is this how it usually works or is there another method for reporting? How is the user identification usually handled?
