Captivate

The audio on multiple slides is not playing upon slide load. On each slide, I added the audio to a smart shape within another smart shape's Normal state. (Please see attached image.) I duplicated the Normal state and trigger it with a button, so the learner can repeat the initial slide text and audio on demand. This is the setup on most of the slides in the project. It all worked fine and the audio was consistently playing on most slides, before I added some javascript to every slide (on enter) to hide the progress bar handle. Not every slide's audio is affected. But several are. What would cause the slide audio in a shape's Normal state to NOT play upon slide load? I'm using Captivate 2019 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10 (home edition). I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me. Hi all.  So frustrating!  I am trying to group three text boxes and a photo but it won't let me.  Is this a bug?  Doing testing I can select a smart shape and a text box and group works, but if I select two text boxes it won't let me.  What is going on???  If you have had this issue please let me know what you did to fix it...if you were able to that is.  

I am facing 2 major issues with drag and drop functionality in the published file which is not seen during Captivate preview:Issue 1 - While user is performing the second attempt, control abruptly jumps to next slide. Issue 2 - Though user has given the right answer, sometimes, Reset button, Submit button, Undo Button remains on the screen. (PFA for an example)Please help.

I am unable to find the 'Stop audio' option under 'Audio' tab in 'Options'. Please check the below image. Can anyone please tell me where can I find the 'stop audio' option, I am using captivate 2019.In a captivate project that I am working on all the slide audios are working except this specific (interaction process) in which the slide audio doesn't plays when I publish it. All I get is the interaction tab without the audio. Can anyone please guide me how to fix this.I have such similar interactions all over the original file and all of them have the same issue. The audio in them never plays in a published html5 file. I only publish it in html5 format and not sfw/html5. However, when I preview this slide in captivate then only the audio plays with a blank background (interaction is not visible), and the interaction shows up after the audio stops.

Hallo Community, beim Import einer GIFT Datei wendet Captivate bei manchen Dateien einen falschen Folienmaster auf Zuordnungsfragen an. Die TXT, bzw GIFT Datei sieht so aus wie Immer. Im Script scheint nichts falsch zu sein. Trotzdem werden die Fragen statt als Zuordnungsfrage als Kurzantwort importiert. Diese sehen dann so aus, dass statt 2 angelegten Spalten ein weißer Kasten angezeigt wird. Klickt man auf ihn, erscheinen die Zurordnungsfragen genauso wie in der TXT Datei, mit diesen Pfeilen (->).  Klickt man noch einmal sieht man wieder nur den weißen Kasten. Dieses Problem scheint zufäälig aufzutreten. Hat jemand eine Ahnung wo der Fehler liegen könnte? Oder kann man die Zurordnung des Folienmaster vielleicht im Nachhinein noch ändern? Danke schonmal, dass ihr euch Zeit nehmt das zu lesen. 

Hi all. I'm getting this problem where nothing shows up on my main screen (it displays as a black blank screen in the middle). This is despite me selecting the slides on the filmstrip. Also, I seem to be able to move the contents on the slide. I see a hand cursor when I hover over some parts of the blank screen, and when I click and move my mouse around, I can see on the filmstrip that the item on the slide was moved. I've attached a screenshot. Is anyone facing a similar issue and does anyone know how to resolve this? It was working alright before I updated my MAC iOS. I've also tried uninstalling my Adobe Captivate and reinstalling it but the same problem persists.

Hi all, I have been having the same issue with downloading and then accessing Captivate. I went through the 30 day trial, then decided to purchase the monthly subscription. Well, i keep getting a message saying that the Theme File copying failed, and to try manually copying it to my users file. I can't figure out what to do next. I keep trying to copy it manually, have even looked online for how to do so, but nothing seems to work for me so far. Help?

I find it hard ot believe that as expensive as captivate is it can't seem to handle a simple video insertion. It's 2019 (11.5.1.499) on W10 and though the video is not particularly large (984.95 KB) and is directly inserted into Captivate(video was captured saved and added directly), almost immediately after adding the image pixelates terribly and resembles the best of photocopiers from 1989. This is progressive slide video and after looking at all the settings in captivate and attempting pretty much everything I could think of (or find on the Internet) I even reset captivate (lower case intentional for what has become an aggravating POS) and it still occurs. I disabled MS cloud sync and even made it a stand alone system after a couple of shut downs and restarts. If anyone has a reasonable explanation (and fix)  I'd like to hear it.

Of all the software I'm forced to use... Course software has to be the worst.I only use it because I don't know how to hook up SCORM to a different editing system. (If anybody has solutions please share. Would be great if somebody made edge work.)Before I go on a tangent here - I love all other adobe products except Flash.Captivate fits into that category here are the reasons:1) You can't copy your work from one slide to the next. All the variables reset or it makes new ones. What a waste of time.2) I have to hack everything. This is not software that allows a great user interface. EVENT DRIVEN? I have to problem solve the crap out of everything just to make a nice user flow.3) Corporate clients expect better in todays online climate. The user experience is mandatory.4) Most of the problem solving is done by people who can code. Why not make the tool more coder friendly. Editing Javascript is a nightmare.5) Can't branch large courses - Don't know why but for some reason captivate won't

Let me START with:The circumstances around HOW this "quiz"/non-quiz, are being put together, can NOT be changed.   This is ALSO not a problem with the "quiz" completing. As far as the LMS is concerned, it gets to the end, student gets completion, all is well and good with the world.   The PROBLEM is that the TOC is NOT ALLOWING obviously just viewed slides, to be REVIEWED, unless the student got the question WRONG.   Now, no, it is NOT as simple as right/wrong answers, because of HOW the "quiz" is put together... and WHY it is put together, in this manner. Ok. So to explain how this quiz is being put together:   Welcome slide, Help slide, Introduction Slide, first Question Slide, correct answer slide, wrong answer slide, question two slide.... rinse/repeat the questions followed by separate slides for correct and wrong responses, till reach end, get a completion slide that sends the data, then the end slide telling student to close the "quiz". Hello,We are looking for some guidance on when to use 360 Photos versus 360 Video and at what point it's considered VR? We are considering using captivate to create safety training for our operations employees as we are a construction related company.  My initial thoughts are it would use 360 degree photos with various text and integrated questions, etc.  We also often have to train various our clients on various pieaces of large equipment and with COVID traveling is shut down so this could also be another use case scenario.   Where do 360 videos come into play here or is there such a thing as 360 video?When does VR content come into play.  Does it become VR when consuming from a VR Headset?  It woudl be great if their was some documetnation that someone might have that explains these various layers.  We have a Ricoh THETA Z1 360 Camera on order. Any guiadance on some of my questions or the optimal path for what I need to achieve w

I've changed the text color in the Properties Panel as well as in the Object Style Manager but the text is still white on white. I've got the latest version of Captivate with the latest update. Is there a way to fix this? 

In the last few Captivate modules I've developed there is this annoying thing where, in the preview, the highlight boxes appear early.  I get a blank screen for a short time with only a highlight box. (See attached image).In some cases the highlight box appears briefly on the previous slide which looks terrible.If I change the timeline on the slide so the highlight box appears later it makes no difference.Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi All, I'm new to Captivate so please be gentle if this is an incredibly dumb question. I am currently trying to put together a responsive training program and have inserted a few knowledge check questions (matching).  The drop down boxes appear on my slides, but when I preview the project, they don't appear at all. I'm currently using 2019 v. 11.5.1.499 (I'm waiting for my IT department to come push the latest update for me). Thanks!

Hi All I have to display a captivate variable that contains a lot of text and would like to use a scroll bar.  Do I have to use a web object to do this?  And if so, how do I access the vaiable in the files displayed in the web object? Thanks for any help.jc

Hello Adobe Community,Our company is authoring our courses with Captivate 2017. Due to the nature of our business, we must use an AICC-based LMS with our content hosted on our company servers (cross-domain).Our development group is attempting to publish our courses in HTML5 . We have followed all the 'Uncomment' directions in the index.html file, so we are able to launch the course from our Cornerstone On Demand (CSOD) LMS.The problem is, when the course launches, we receive the following error:Even though the course is running and we have control of the course, it is disconnected from the LMS, so there is no course status being reported back to the LMS.We have tested the course cross-domain in a different LMS (Plateau) and have received the same error.We have tested the course in SCORM Cloud as well as zipped the entire course file and loaded in the LMS (not cross-domain). I am looking at my project in Captivate and - on screen - I have animated boxes that aim to highlight key information (see yellow bars in screenshots below). When I go to preveiw the session in Chrome, the highlight boxes have shifted so they look a mess! Any suggestions as to why this is and how I can fix it? Side note: I am very new to Captivate (working on my first project) and am working from a project that someone else had started to create and my role is to finish it off. 

How can text for buttons on a click and replace slide be edited? I can edit the text for button 1 but not for buttons 2, 3, and 4. 

Hello,When I import a powerpoint into Adobe Captivate, HTM5 tracker says that there are issues with every slide that I import "Only animation image is supported". If I copy and paste each individual slide into Adobe from Powerpoint, this message does not occur. I've also upgraded to the newest update that Captivate had to offer. I want the training to work correctly in my LMS and with HTML5 on all Internet browsers. Is there a way around this or to fix this? My main concern is the "only animation image is supported" I will be adding a voice recording as well on the slide. 

I have multiple screens where the user has to click a button to listen to audio, then fill in a text entry box. However, when the user clicks anywhere on the screen, including the button, the cursor in the TEB disappears. Is there a way to keep it flashing? I'd like the user to listen to the audio and then enter in the TEB without clicking on it. 

Hi! My single license for Adobe Captivate CS6 let me install an app on two computers. I want to install the application on a third computer. I deactivated the application on the first computer yet. But when I try activate it on the new computer I have this problem: "the serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You need to deactivate another computer to use this product". Whats wrong?

Hello, I am trying to create a drag and drop scenario where the learner is asked to rank their personal preference for 4 different items.  All answers are acceptable, there are no "wrong" answers. I would like to use the drag and drop feature but I cannot figure out how to do this because of needing to have correct and incorrect answers. I am very beginner as well.  Do I need to add ALL potential combinations of the 4 items into the "Set Correct Answers" area to make this possible? Is there a different feature I could use to accomplish something similar. Thank you!
