Captivate

Hi all, How do I get my captivate project to fit the browser window. It was working fine a few days ago, but now I have an irritating scroll bar as depicted in the attached picture.  I've tried reducing the resolution slightly but still, the scroll bar seems to be the same size. Additionally, how can I get the slides listed in the TOC to show the slide name and not just "slide1"?  Thanks

I have prepaered an elearning course using Captivate 2019. When i try to publish to computer the drop down menu "Publish" does not include the option.When I open another trainng sample file from one of my textbooks the option gives me a chanhoice of publish to computer. Can any one give me a clue how to publish to computer.Screenshot of dropdown menu attached

Hi Im using captivate for course authoring. For part of the business we want to be able to customize the feedback messages at runtime. I'm trying to look through the cp object and find where that data is stored. cp is quit large. Anyone have an idea where to find this?

Hello, I am close to publishing my first course that I have been working on for a few weeks now. I am having some difficulty understanding certain behaviour I am seeing in my course. Hopefully someone from this forum can help me make sense of what I am experiencing. 1. I have created a Knowledge Check question with a built-in submit button with 1 attempt. I added a custom next button to the slide and want this to appear after the first attempt of the question. I have changed the on success and last attempt actions to show the custom next button. However, this does not happen instantanously and weirdly after already pressing the submit button I have to press it again or click on another area of the slide to make the next button appear - is this expected behaviour? I feel I need the next button to allow time to for learners to read the feedback and progress in their own time.  2. Hello everyone!I have a little problem with displaying the content of a variable.I have a self-made survey, which ends with a slide that must show 4 results. Each of them, are stored in 4 variables. This results are numbers that are in between 0 and 1.When a number like 0.666666666667 appear, I need it to be shown as 0.66 or 0.67 (it doesn't matter if it's just cropped). When I setted the variable, I put 3 as the maximum number of characters, but when I previewed it, it shows more numbers (you can see it in the capture).Is there anyway to set it up to show just 2 decimals, and not every of them?Thank you in advance!I'm using Captivate 2019, with the last update.

Hi,So, I have a user logon screen that I have created where the username text entry box has to match a VAR and the same for the password. I also have a button in which restarts the process, so on this button i have an AA that resets the VAR to null. But when I go to enter the username again it contains the text from the previous try. How do I get it, so this doesn’t happen and it is either blank or shows the original text of 'Enter Username'.Thanks in Advance. 🙂

I've created a responsive project and it looks great on desktop but when played landscape on any mobile device it is too large. And on the (oldish version) iPad it does not play at all. Do I need to create a new size version for each devices.Thanks

Hi there, i have a very disturbing problem in Captivate  recently. Back then i was a postproduction Audio engineer. Thats why i wanted to spice up my new captivate Project with some self made Sound FX. I applied these FX to the Clips of Symbols and Illustrations, (not to slides or background; my slides have Narrations and i have a Background music). I syncronized the sounds that i made by editing them carefully and made a whole Project with nice sounds and Illustrations. I published an HTML to see how it goes and saw that many of the Sound FX that i created are cut in half or they are non syncron (starting late). I did toggle back and fort with navigation and checked the same slides again. I realized sometimes it plays the sound correctly, but often not.In my project on timeline everything sounds perfect. But when i export the project in any form, many of the FX that i designed does not sound as they should do. Do you have a solution for that... PS: Btw i am usign *

I have to prepare a project that have slides and random questions together.Because of for forcing students directly WATCH LESSON, project must be run directly in full screen and no navigation buttons, no close button, no foll screen button, no resize screen button, no permit a new PAGE on the SCREEN. I prepaired a sample project with ADOBE CAPTIVATE 2019, published to computer, upload to CAPTIVATE PRIME.But I'm not able to do-run directly in full screen and no navigation buttons,-no close button,-no foll screen button,-no resize screen button (close full screen button),no permit a new PAGE on the SCREEN. I need your help.This is my sample project. I purchased Captivate 9 in 2017 - I did not upgrade when 2017 came out. I have a MacBook Air running Catalina OS and now when I try to open Captivate it quickly closes. I can't find the program specs for 2015. When I look at the 2019 version it doesn't state that Catalina 10.15.6 is supported. Is my only option to buy a whole new install of Captivate? Will 2019 work on my new Mac? Discounts for older programs or Ed users? Thanks for any help. I wanted to work on my course today and now realize I am out of business with the old version.Lorraine

I have a project where I'm inserting a Youtube video(interactive video option). Unfortunately, during the inserting process, it stops at 50% and doesn't finish(I've waited for at least 10 minutes). Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone tried the Captivate quiz reporting widget available from CPGURU? I believe it can send quiz questions and users answers directly to Google sheets. As I don't have an LMS at the moment this could be extremely useful to me but I would like to hear from anyone who has used it before I buy it.

Hi All,In Captivate I know you can create a question slide with multiple "Fill in the Blanks" (or drop-downs). I'm wondering if you can do the same when importing the same type of question in a CSV file?(CP version 11.5.1.499) RegardsDonal.

Building a course where I use the default progress indicator included on the question slides, but it is splitting the content in 2 rows, as on the image:This is responsive project and I am seeing this issue on any device (computer, tablet and smartphone). I tried resizing the shape, locking the size and position, but always it's going back to some default size (to fit the text probably). Interesting thing is that I am seeing this content OK in Adobe Captivate when I open the project (image below): In practice, I would need the shape to be at least 2-3px wider, but I am not able to set up the width. I tried px, %, locked size & position without any success.

Hello all,I'm using Captivate 10, and I am trying to do the following:Ask a user a questionThe user should have 5 text entry boxes to answerEach text entry box should be worth 1 point and is reported in the quiz itselfDo not show the user the correct answer or provide feedback, just move to the next questionI know this is going to require some advanced actions or some JS. I've read into other posts on here and have created a "submit all" button, and while I can make them work if the TEB's aren't graded, I can't seem to get it to work if they are graded. I've also tried researching this, but can't seem to find a solution that would fit the problem at hand. Does anyone have any recommendations on this topic?

Hello, I created a captivate file with html5 output. the audio is in English and I need to enquire as to the possibility to add subtitles in multiple languages.Does Captivate support this and how would I proceed?Thanks

My training has muultiple objects that change the state of an object and rollovers  of objects that add content to those states.Example:Click 1 - Change object A to state 1Click 2 -  Change object A to state 2Click 3 - Rollover state has multiple objects that are shown on top of object AClick 4 - Rollover state has multiple objects that are shown on top of object A My headache is that some objects in object A sttates will end up on top of Rollover states. Adjusting layers is simple on a slide but when in state view, I cant even tell what each objects name is much less what will block it in the final pruduction.

Hi everyone. I am a longtime Adobe user but extremely new to Captivate. I am super excited to use this for my music curriculum, but as I am considering the scope of my projects and the possible branching scenarios among them, I have a key question: if I were, say, to devise incidental lessons for the guitar or keyboard etc, could I at a later date combine these smaller projects into one larger "master project" with interrelated branching paths/logic across the pre-existing projects? Hello, We've had an issue in our organisation where by an exported Captivate project, is not being read-aloud in a browser, even though the accessbility option is selected. This used to work fine and appears to have stopped working. After doing some testing all morning, it appears if the project is responsive then it works fine, and reads the text aloud. If it is a standard project, then it does not. It's almost as if the text gets made into a bit map image and therefore cannot be read. This never used to be an issue, and now a visiually imparied employee is unable to compelte the eLearning. Thanks. T

Hello Friends,I am publishing my cpt files into HTML, white patches at bottom from end to end appeaing, please suggest the solution, screen shot attached for the reference. 

When we play the SCORM file in Local, it generates warning errors but plays, the same file when we test this file on SCORM Cloud, we encounter no errors. When we upload the same file in our application, it doesn't work though it works with other SCORM files. What could be the issue here? How can we fix this?

I have a simple drag and drop project with one drag source and four drop targets, one of which is correct. I need a solution for the following: 1. When the user clicks submit without dragging, they should see a message that says "You need to select your option". Currently it is giving me a standard failure message. 2. When the user drags to the wrong answer, and hits submit, the failure message should say, "Wrong answer, try again" Following a solution posted by Lilybiri, I created a variable (v_failure) and assigned it to the three incorrect options, but it's not working. I must be overlooking something very basic. I can attach a cptx file with a simple representation of what I want to accomplish. Somehow I'm not able to attach it. Fyi -- I have non-existent javascript skills (I have started learning only recently), and I'm also fairly new to Captivate.  Thanks! 

I'm working on a project that contains a few videos. The client wants the playbar for the videos, but without the scrubbing option. As there is no such functionality in Captivate 2019, I used a code (given below) that I found online. For the shorter videos, this code is successful in disabling the scrub feature.
