Captivate

I have been using Captivate 2019 for a year now. Recently with the Adobe Cloud, my preferences  path was changed so it wouldn't open. My IT guy installed the trial version as a workaround but of course any published courses will expire in 30 days.  I've downloaded Captivate 2019 again but for some reason it still thinks it's the trial version. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?  I don't know where to look for the trial version files to remove. I can't work until this is resolved and my IT Dept. doesn't know how to fix. Looking forward to any help. Thanks,SC

Hello,My company is looking at TalentLMS.  I am new to LMS systems but have been using Captivate for about a year.  I downloaded a trial version of TalentLMS.  I uploaded the .zip to it but it never seemed to finnish processing or work. Anyone use this to deliever course material?Thanks, Mary

Greetings, all. I have created an MCQ slide that is having issues once it's published. Would anyone be able to show me what I am missing? Here is the Captivate file:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C_XHzm8y0gr1CFYfX71qr3dLfl0Yq8GZ/view?usp=sharing In PREVIEW mode, everything works exactly as planned on this quiz slide:- I select my answer and click on Submit.- Forced audio feedback plays all the way through.- Continue button appears, and Submit button disappears.- I click on Continue, which takes me to the next page.- Perfect! In PUBLISH mode, things go wrong:- I select my answer and click on Submit. Check!- Forced audio feedback plays all the way through. Check!- Then: nothing. Continue button does not appear, and Submit button does not go away. By the way, I set up forced audio feedback and custom Continue button using the principles in these outstanding posts: Forced audio feedback Submit process with custom continue button. 

Sorry for inconviences, I didn't report full issue: I created courses with a quiz in the end.I created 5 Random questions and Timer Widget was not available for random widgets.So I decided to create blank slide before quiz with a 0.1 transition where I inlcuded Timer Widget. If student fail, by clicking retake button, it goes to 1 question and timer widget is not available. please help to solve. thank you.

One of my course owners requested some minor updates to a course file that contains web objects that stream in video from an IBM streaming service (formerly UStream; if not currently).  I made the changes (all text updates and added one slide at the end with just text on it).  Now my web objects won't play the videos. I didn't make any adjustments at all to the web objects and the videos in the course that is currently posted to my LMS are running just fine.  Both files were built with Captivate release 2019, but I don't know what version was used to build the course that's on the LMS now ...I'm using version 11.5.1.499 for the one I'm having the issues with. As always, any help is greatly appreciated.v/rJay P.S. Something I forgot to mention...maybe it's part of this.  The web object starts out hidden and is shown only after the learner selects the right button.  

Hello,i am using Adobe Captivate 2019 11.5.Is it possible to have the .doc files translated automatically?The translations with the xml file are too inaccurate for me.

Hello guys,I'm creating our chemistry lab as a 360° environment. I want to use Hotspots to explain some of our equipment that you can see in the project. Is it possible to add normal powerpoint slides to a 360 project? My idea was to send the user to a powerpoint slide that explains certain equipment. A normal information hotspot doesn't fit enough text, plus I also want pictures next to the text. I know its possible to do this by using 360 slides in a normal project. If that's not possible, is there a way to copy my existing slides from a 360 project into a normal project. Those can contain normal and 360 slides. Thanks in advanceberfried

Captivate 2019 Hangs on first launch after install. No errors, no message it just hangs. Have reinstalled a few times now with no success. Tried running as Admin and in Win 8 compatibitlity mode with no luck either.HP Pavilion x360 Convertable 14-cd1xxxCPU: i7-8565U @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHzRAM: 16GBSystem: 64-bit OS, x64-based processorWindows 10 Home 1903 Anyone ever see this before?

Hi,I am new to Captivate, so please be gentle with me.  I have been unable to use a number of Captivate features since installing (I'm using a Mac with Catalina OS).  The installation took 3 days and several Adobe support people.  However the following will not work and causes Captivate to freeze and I have to force quit:Advanced ActionsPreview FilesInsert a symbleImport MS PowerPointI have sought help from Adobe support but two weeks on the issue is not resolved and they seem unwilling to assist further. Please can one of you fabulous peeps help me out?ThanksBeverley

Hi,Captivate 9. Windows 10.I've recently started to experience objects that allow text, like text boxes, smart objects, feedback in quizzes and quiz submit buttons, when re-opening a project file will disaply the text hidden in captivate. And it is random objects, not all of them. When published to SCORM html, the text is also hidden. To fix it, each object missing text needs to be selected/clicked on. When clicked on the, the text appears. I have been using captivate 9 for a while now, and feel I need to update, but this has never happened. Closing the project file and reopening will create a new random missing text mess. Has anyone ever heard of this behavior? Any advice? Thanks,Dan

Hello fellow learners,  I just finished a Captivate 9 course that I need to publish in HTML5. When selecting <Publish To My Computer>, specifically the HTML5 output format, I am getting the error below.  "Could not copy folder to C:\Users\Anabel.AcevedoDeJe\Desktop\Creating New KnowledgeArticles\Assets". I haven't had this issue with previous Captivate versions, and not sure why I would not be able to save a file into my own computer folder created on Desktop. Would this error be related to a Captivate 9 setting or computer permissions? Please advise! My only option for now is to publish in HTML5 to run the course into the Rustici SCORM Cloud and then pass it on to my colleagues for courseware testing. The course will be eventually published in Cornerstone LMS. Thank you, Anabelle Acevedo 

I have a bunch of courses built using Captivate 9.  Suddenly last week, every one of them hang while publishing at about 80%. These have always worked fine in the past. I am publishing to my hard drive.  All my preferences paths are also to my hard drive.  You cannot even kill the process.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I am using Captivate 2017 and developing a quiz with random question slides. I got everything set up on my Master Slide first (I did not delete any of the embedded objects) and then created FIB and Multiple Choice questions within several different pools. I typed the questions within Captivate rather than importing a GIFT because many of my questions have several FIB boxes within one question. The issue is that after saving/closing my project and opening it up again, when I open the Question Pool ALL of the questions are blank. I see the background image and the buttons (but the buttons are missing their text) and all of the questions and answers are gone. However, when I click on the question and answer text areas where the content should be, the content then appears. And when I click on the buttons, the text for the button then appears. Solutions I have tried: if I leave everything in the "disappeared" state and publish the project, the questions still do not appear.

What is the latest version of Captivate? My updater freezes and has been liek that for months now.Has Captivatee been updated lately or is it not really being updated anymore?

Good day,  I have a course created and ready to be published. The client has asked if they can now add this course into an existing LMS that they have already set-up (With a previous agency). I believe their LMS uses SCORM. I am not sure if the LMS is hosted with Captivate Prime or some other provider. What steps do I need to take to get my course to intergrate with the existing one?What kind of information do I need to get in order to publish this?Do I need to find out the course identifyer and the SCO identifyer etc?What settings/info will I need to match with theirs? I have only ever created content within Captivate until now and the LMS side of things is new to me. So, apologies if my question is a bit... heavy. many thanks. 

Hi, Using Captivate 11.5.1.499. In my project, I have three quiz questions, all using the advanced answer option, so that I can go to slides explaining why a given answer was right or wrong. I'm also using my own navigation buttons. The layout is like this:Slide 12 - Question 2 (multiple choice)If the right option is selected, jump to slide 13If one wrong answer is selected, jump to slide 14If the other wrong answer is selected, jump to slide 15Slide 13 - Q2 right. After the explanation, a button appears. When clicked, it jumps to Slide 16, which is the next question.Slide 14 - Q2 wrong 1. After the explanation, a button appears. When clicked, it jumps back to Slide 12, so the learner can try again.Slide 15 - Q2 wrong 2. After the explanation, a button appears. When clicked, it jumps back to Slide 12, so the learner can try again.Slide 16 - Question 3and so on... On the second question, a weird thing happens when previewing or publishing (HTML5). I can not import any image from my computer in the project. When I press to insert a photo from either the media icon on the top ribbon or form the library button. It just shows all files as empty. Can anyone help? 

Hi everyone. I created a simple, short software simulation for a client. The simulation demonstrates a number of features, including drag&drop reordering functionality. The simulation is recorded in a smaller dimension before being copied/pasted into a larger sized project to fit into the client's template. I am not resizing the simulation in any way, only copy/pasting directly as is. For some reason, the copy/paste of the slides causes an issue with part of the recording. On playback, the drag&drop functionality distorts, condensing from 1280x720 to 800×720 for instance and then reverting back to the normal simulation once the drag&drop completes. The rest of features display as normal (click boxes, mouse movements, etc.). It is only the drag&drop motion that causes the change in size. This also only occurs when previewed or published in HTML5. Selecting Preview -> Project plays as normal. Any ideas on how to fix this for HTML5?  I have attached photo

Hi , I am using Captivate 2019. Suddenly, I can’t see all text caption in my Captivate. I re-installed captivate , font and executed windows update. However, I can’t see text caption… In timeline, the Text Captions can show. Last week, I can show the Text captions. However this week, I can't... What should I do....   Yoko.

New user, trialing Captivate 2019.Created a responsive presentation from a PowerPoint presentation.  After publishing the presentation for use in our LMS, much of the slide content disappeared.  Shut the program down and restarted, nothing.Before this Live Preview worked good, but now it's not working either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Bill

Captivate - version 7.0.1.237Windows 10 I'm a real novice, so I apologize for what's probably a basic question, but I can't find a solution to this. My mouse pointer is way off in the playback of Video Demos. I thought it might have been my old computer, and I just gave up, but I'm on a new laptop now and it's doing the same thing. I have created a calcuator using Captivate to help calcualte fees for our compnay.  The problem is I need to round it to the nearst dollar and I cannot for the life of me figure it out.  I know I will need to run a java script but does anyone have an idea on how to do this?  Below is my advanced action so I need to round the variable TotaltoDMV.   Any instructions you have is greatly appreicated.
