Captivate

Hello, I'm working on a project for work and most of the time the closed captioning has no problems. We set it to a standard for the entire project. I'm running into a weird issue where for one slide exactly, the closed caption changes colors to a duller gray than the color selected. It happens mid sentence, goes back to normal, and then happens again towards the end. I have already tried resetting the closed captioning for the whole project. I have deleted the closed captioning for that slide, and readded them.I have edited that slide's closed captioning.  Settings for Captivate Project Example 1 Example 2  

HiI have noticed that it is not possible to use the On exit function on slides.None of the people on my team can use it. We have different acounts of the latest version of Captivate. But we all have the same problem.Have they diactivated this function?

I'm wondering if the drag and drop activity has to be on its own slide or if it'll work on any slide. What I'm trying to do is have an intro text block with voiceover including an instruction that alerts user to D&D activity coming up. Text fades, and an image of a deck of cards comes up. When user clicks on that it 'deals out' 10 cards, which will be the drop zone for the draggable text labels which fade in at the bottom of the slide and match up with what's written on respective cards. I wanted an advanced action on the click of the deck, to open all 10 cards but in a staggered order as if 'being dealt' . . . but I'm assuming with the 'on click, show' concept will open all at the same time as all 10 card images are set to not be visible but are all in a list on the script. If those cards are part of a drag and drop event, will an effect even work on them?  I may be shooting for too complex . . . ! (It works great in my head though).

I am seeing an issue with Captivate 12.3.0.12 (not Captivate Classic) while recording a software simulation. I'm on MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.5.   When I record, regardless of if it's demo, assessment or training, the actual application I'm trying to record (in this case, a web-based app in Chrome) does not get recorded.  Instead, I see only my desktop background image (in my case, mountains with grasses and trees). The click boxes and instructions/text captions appear in the right spots, just not the actual application. I found threads for a similar problem long ago in Captivate Classic, the solution being to make sure you are running as an admin.... I am.  I've also uninstalled and re-installed Captivate. Any ideas? 

I have a few issues with the Quiz that I created. Sometimes when people take my training and answer the knowledge check questions I created in captivate, and the get it wrong, it freezes and does not let them retake the question even though it is set to infinate tries. Second thing that happens, is if they are taking the training and take a break and come back to it a day or 2 later, the same thing happens and they can not continute the quiz. To that event, they can never complete the training with out me unenrolling them and reenrolling them in Workday. Has this happened to anyone else? I have attached a screenshot of one of my quiz questions to have anyone take a look and see if I am doing something wrong and also the quiz preferences on my file.

I want to stop the state changes at the last state and have the Next button appear only at that moment, the advanced action will need to be a little bit more complicated. I have done the following:Create a user variable v_counter (Project, Variables); it can have a default value of 0.Check that the Timeline of the Next button starts after the pausing point of Button_1 (as is the case now)Re-add a pausing point to the Next button (Timing properties, Pause after 1.5secs is OK)Extend the timeline of the Next button till the end of the slide (CTRL-E or with Timing properties.) If you  do not have slide audio, the slide duration can be reduced, you don't need such a long slide.Shorten the duration of the Button_1 timeline so that it ends before the pausing point of the Next button But I need some assistance in doing the last part:Create an Advanced action with TWO decisions (tabs):   Decision 1 'Always'       Change state....      &nbsp

Good day,I'm making a course that has 5 stages, so 5 projects.  I'm adding audio into slides and in three of the five projects no problem with playing the sound automatically or by activating it by a button.  In two of the projects the sound will not play.  For the life of me I can't see why sound will work in only 3 out of 5 projects.  Perhaps I'm missing a setting?  On the playbar under the timeline, the mute is not turned on.  Thanks for any ideas as I'm stumped.Dave

I am creating a piece of training detailing how to use a certain software. The training consists of a series of screenshots of the software imported from a PowerPoint file. The user must click on the correct parts of the screenshot in order to advance. However, when I place a clickbox on the desired place and preview the training, the clickbox is not in the correct place. In some cases there is a drastic difference. Has anyone else run into this issue before? This is on Classic Captivate, latest version.

Hi, I am a Captivate newbie working with Adobe Captivate 2019 release. I have created a custom quiz in Captivate on a blank slide. There is a question with three options, one of which is correct. The three options are shapes being used as buttons. When the user clicks the correct option, they are taken to a slide which says -- correct. Similarly, when the user clicks the incorrect option, they are taken to a slide which says -- incorrect. Both the correct and incorrect slides have a next button which will take them to the scorecard. As I mentioned, all three options are shapes which I am using as buttons. The next button on the correct/incorrect slides is also a shape. I want to ensure that the buttons are capturing the score and reporting it to the LMS. For now I have selected each button, and under Properties>Reporting, checked the following boxes: Include in Quiz, Add to Total and Report Answers. Will this do it?  Thanks

Mini Mac, Sonoma 14.6.1, CP 12.3. I have just completed several projects in CP Classic 2019 and I am now looking at CP 12.3. As a learning exercise, I have been working through the CP 12.3 UI to try and understand how one of my previous projects from CPC 2019 can be created exactly the same in CP 12.3. In my CP classic projects I have used a stack of UI buttons, each has an EAA script that performs an action and then reveals the next button in the stack etc etc. From what I can see, (I don't find the CP12.3 User Guide that intuitive) buttons in CP 12.3 cannot be stacked? Is this correct or am I missing something. I can only assume that as CP12.3 is fully responsive, using fluid boxes that stacking buttons cannot be done. I this correct and does anyone have a " work-around" for this please BobG.

Hi All, I recently made the jump from Captivate 2019 to the latest version of Captivate via the Adobe subscription model. Unfortunately, I’m having challenges importing my captivate file from the 2019 version into the new Captivate. Is anyone able to provide any insight as to how I might be able to import Captivate files from the 2019 version?  When I double click on the file of interest, I’m only return to the intro/home page of Captivate. Alternatively, when I try to identify my file using the Open button and navigating to the location of the file, the file doesn’t appear as an option.

I'm using Captivate on a Mac, and I'm constantly having issues like the following:  I copy text from Word and it pastes it twice. Captivate stays stuck and doesn't let me do any actions until I change the page and return to the previous one. Many times I have to redo the work because it goes back to previous points instead of saving my changes.  I'm wasting a lot of time, does anyone have any idea why this is?

I'm experiencing an issue where i have liberally applied Adobe Captivate fonts across a project but when I go to publish the project it will not allow me to add a domain in the Adobe Fonts area on the publish settings and it's all grayed out. What do I do? I want to ensure users are able to see the Adobe fonts and not some dumb web font replacement. @Paul Wilson CTDP @Lilybiri have you seen this behavior? 

Hi all,  Something weird is happening with my audio files in which they sound normal in Apple Music and they sound normal in the timeline within Adobe Captivate (version 12.3.0.12), but in preview mode, the audio sounds far away and distorted (almost as if it is underwater). I have opened a blank project and just imported the audio onto the slide and the same issue is occurring, so there is no interaction or effect that I have implemented that is causing the distortion. We received the files as mp3 files but requested them as WAV files hoping that would resolve the issue, but sadly it has not. I've also imported files from past e-learning modules and they appear normal in the preview, so it may be something with the audio files themselves? I am unsure. I've also reached out to Adobe's support team on this and we are tackling the issue. Has anyone else encountered this? Adobe's support team even said they have tested the audio on various Adobe programs and it is only replicabl

Hello! I'm researching Captivate and was wondering if anyone knows how the videos are hosted. Do the published videos need to be stored in a specific location? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I don't speak API, HTML, or any IT language, so if you could explain your response in plain English, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I cannot see the grouping on the left side of timeline.  Even when I try to expand/ collapse timeline, I still cannot see or view the left side of timeline.  Can someone help?  I've checked the menus and settings and don't see anywhere I can easily get this to view again. there used to be arrows to expand or collapse my groups.

Hi, When I take a pano photo on my iPhone and upload to captivate 360 VR it seems okay until you look up or down then it looks distorted and doesn't show it correctly. Is there any solution other than a 360 camera?  I have access to a mobile and some cameras but don't know how to avoid that issue. Kind Regards

I am new to Adobe Captivate I just got a license to create in house e leanring for my organization. I was hoping to use it to create interactive PDFs for micro learning courses. I am disappointed that this doesn't seem possible since it feels like a natural option for an e-laerning tool. Especially one from Adobe. I know it is possible to do with inDesign but I don't have the time to learn the in and outs and master the learning curve of that application. Please share any simple ways to overcome this huge barrier to implementing my plan. I think this is a really good use case for Adobe to consider adding the feature.

How do I upload a ppsx file that has a screen recording (no audio) into Captivate? I want the screen recorded slides to continue to play once uploaded. Is there a way to do this?

I started learning CapClassic just throwing objects on a slide and playing around with interactivity. Of course I ended up with something I liked, so kept going. Ended up being the basis for a course I want to keep but of course I hadn't explored themes and Content Master slides back then (yes, I do things backwards/the hard way a lot). After learning about CMs I created one and want to apply it to the old course and would prefer a blank theme since it was all custom/manual content originally. Can I do this, yea or nay (without screwing everything up)? Thanks for any help.

I need help installing CP2019, an error message appears saying "Update your browser" (the browser is updated).The help chat send me here to get some help... (i cannot believe that I paid fortune for license and not received help even to installed the app).

I have a super simple layout here, to illustrate what is happening. Users will complete their assessments, and they are given an accuracy score that is expressed in ##.##%, such as 61.36%.For our needs, we then have a follow-up slide just after this one that needs to report that exact 61.36% score... but I cannot find a variable that will report it.  The only thing I have found is cpInfoPercentage... but that rounds the score.  I need the score un-rounded.Can anyone help me with the correct variable, so that I can have the accurate number represented on the slide?  The issue is, we have users scoring a 79.81%, where 80% is required to pass.  For our exacting standars, (and the LMS), 79.81 is NOT passing... but the rounded score of 80 gives the appearance that the user has passed the assessment.  Can anyone help me get it so that exact number to report out via a variable? Thank you in advance!
