Captivate

When I publish a file as HTML5, it doesn't autoplay.  It is a white screen with a play button in the middle of it.  How can I create the course file so that it autoplays as with a swf output?

So I want to embed custom fonts into my SCORM package (we publish HTML5-only from Captivate 8 and do not want to limit ourselves to 6 web-safe fonts) and I have worked out how to do this successfully but it involves making changes to the file 'CPLibraryAll.css' after the project is published, I have tried to see if I can make changes to the equivalent file in Program Files but I am unable to see whether it exists there. It seems that this file may be generated during the publish.Does anybody know a means of modifying a program file so that I don't have to make my amends for every project every time I publish?Thank youMike

Hello - I need to set the pass/fail for my course in points rather than percentage, but the points field won't let me change it from "0." I can select points, but I'm not able to enter the pass/fail points.Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I'm working on a project where if I change fonts in the middle of a text caption, I note some problems.I created a new text caption. I selected Verdana Regular for the font. I typed some text, then changed to Verdana Bold. (Not the B button). The resulting text looks like this in source:However, when published, it looks like this. Note how the second "This is Verdana Regular again." looks different from the first.Another little problem is that when opening the text caption in source again, if I double-click "This is Verdana Bold.", it shows correctly in the properties:But if then click on the first or third sentence, I do NOT see this:If instead I double-click the first or third sentence when opening the text caption, I will see Verdana Regular in the properties and clicking in the Verdana Bold sentence does not change the property to Verdana Bold.Looks like bugs to me. Anyone else seeing this?

helloI have a captivate file comprised of several slides, each containing a video. How do i add closed captioning to these slides?The videos were created in Camtasia Studio 8 and include captioning, but the captioning does not transfer over to Captivate (as Captivate can only import a .mp4 file and the captioning in the Camtasia file is included in another file that the .mp4 points to).I don't see a 'closed captioning' option on the slides that contain a video. I must include closed captioning in my project as this is a requirement.If anyone can help me address this question, I would very much appreciate it.Marion

I am creating my first course using Adobe Captivate 2017, and I am really struggling with decisions about forced navigation.  I have read quite a few discussions on this topic here and elsewhere, but there always seems to be a key difference between what others are looking for and what I am doing, which makes me doubt whether advice they received is the best approach for me as well.I found no better way to make sure than by asking those of you who are more experienced to weigh in on my specific course.I am building a fairly long course that will have 4-5 modules.  Each module will include slides with the following content:- Text captions with images/characters- Video demos with audio- Software simulations (maybe) with audio- QuizzesBasically, I want to make sure that users read all text before moving on, watch the entirety of the video before moving on, etc. so I don't want them to be able to skip to the next slide right away.  Therefore, some type of forced navigation s

Hi, The in the results slide, I have activated the Retake button. I use the variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored to decide whether my slide moves to the "Fail" slide or the "Pass" slide. The first attempt, the variable works fine. However, I noticed that even after clicking the retake button, cpQuizInfoPointsscored retains the points of first quiz attempt. Say my first quiz attempt, I scored 10/20, after clicking the retake button, I see 10 on the counter. This now messes up my quiz result after retaking. I know how I can fix it using my own variable and using advanced actions, however, I know it is a tedious task. Any advise on how to reset cpQuizInfoPointsscored? javascript? Thank you!

I'm having an issue embedding a youtube video- when I publish the course, the youtube video doesn't autoplay, and the slide is automatically changing before the video is over. I've never had this happen before- it usually plays the video and goes to the next slide. Could anyone give any thoughts as to why this is happening?Thanks

I have been trying to get a custom image button to have a visited state. When I create the visited state, it just duplicated the default/normal state and locks it. I need this state to change the image. All I've been able to do so far is place the new version on top of the visited version Captivate gave me. Is there a way to import the visited state without layering multiple images?

Bonjour à tous, Je travaille actuellement sur un module assez complexe sur Adobe Captivate 2017 : un arbre phylogénétique interactif. J'ai un calque de base (l'arbre) et l'apprenant doit cliquer sur la zone qui l'intéresse sur l'arbre pour faire apparaître une fenêtre qui se superpose sur mon calque de base. Quand l'apprenant clique sur une zone et qu'une nouvelle fenêtre surgit, j'aimerais que toutes les autres zones de clic soient désactivées. (Sinon, l'étudiant peut cliquer sans faire exprès sur une zone à côté de la fenêtre et être renvoyé sur une autre page). Connaissez-vous une astuce qui permet de rendre inactifs plusieurs zones de clic à la fois ? Hello,I am using the Captivate v10.0.1.285 and I am having a problem when generating a Glossary with the Glossary Widget. My Glossary is composed of more than 300 words and Definitions. Once published in HTML5, here the behaviour:Procedure to ReproduceTest 1: Click on A or B or C letters Actual: The glossary is going to the first word according the letter I clicked on.Expected: The glossary shall go to the first word according the letter I clicked on.Test 2: Click on D or any other letters existing between C and ZActual: The glossary is going to a random letter (most of the times 2 letters before the letter clicked)Expected: The glossary shall go to the first word according the letter I clicked on.The behavior of the Widget is not good and I am stuck with it. I am assigning shortcuts to keys for accessibility and would like to know if there are standards on how you assign keys. For instance, should a "Continue" button be "Enter" or "Shift+E"?   Or the "Exit" button be assigned "End" or ?   Are there standards or should I assign them and  include the shortcuts on the navigation page?  The 508 rules are killing me!!!  I would appreciate any tips, thank you.Carol

I want to require that an answer is provided on each question before the quiz-taker can advance to the next question.  Ideally, there would be a popup telling the quiz-taker to "please select an answer" when they try to click Next.  Currently, clicking Next gives them an "incorrect" popup when they do not select any answer, but still allows them to advance to the next question. 

Hi,When trying to change shape, colour, font etc of an object the program just loads and loads forever, or until I force quit the program... It seems similar to this issue Adobe Captivate 2017 crashes What can be the issue and how do I solve it?Kind regards,Matilda

I developed a few very complex captivate drag and drop interactions. They work flawless on PC and android devices, when using on an iPad it loads very slow, lags and crashes during some points. Is there a specific reason that this would be happening on an iPad. The projects are blank projects, I converted one as a responsive project but it did not work at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

 I have  project created in Captivate 2017.  I imported audio and plays when I view the file in preview.  When I export and publish the file on the server when  I play it on the internet the file plays but no audio on the first slide unless I stop the playbar and restart it then the audio on slide one will play.   I have tried several things to get it to play on the first slide but once published it will not. Any ideas?Thank you 

Hello All!I am creating a course that has to be 508 compliant. I am using Captivate 2017 v10.0.0.219. I am exporting to HTML5.For the most part Captivate handles this wonderfully, however when using the TOC a host of issues arise.The largest of which is having to navigate, by keyboard, through the entire TOC if you have it open or are starting navigation. This will cause the screen reader to read every entry in the TOC, which for the current course is close to 43 slides.Does anyone know of a way, other than creating a completely custom TOC, to get it to behave similar to the swf exported version?Let me know your thoughts and maybe we can figure this one out.Thanks!

Hi,I have a problem with the buttons. In some slides of my project the buttons don't work: it doesn't jump to the next slide. the slide stops, but the sound of the next slide start to play.

Captivate 9 updated.SCORM/html5 in moodle.Non-responsiveAll multiple choice questions.I've made many quizzes in the past, and they have always worked for out of the box with little adjustments needed. However this new course is not allowing a student to submit questions on a second attempt. WE do not need to limit our learners with attempts. Why (what setting would cause it) would revisiting quiz question not allow another answer to be selected and the submit button unresponsive? I have a feeling this is going to be an easy change, but I just don't see it. Thanks.

We have a number of Captivate projects (imported power points) that we added question slides to. On those projects, the content we added to those question slides (answers,question text) appear in the timeline preview, however in the main pane and also in previewing the slides they are empty.They appeared to be working fine last week, but today(6/12/18) is when i noticed the problem. Was there a patch that may have affected thisI am running Captivate 2017 (64 bit) version 10.0.0.192, i have tried to run as administratorI am on Windows 7 Enterprise (64bit,service pack 1), 4GB RAMI have cleared cache within Captivate and also run the clearpreferenceswin.bat utility.Has anyone experienced this bug or know how to resolve? I'm almost about to try to reinstall or try installing the 32bit product.Thanks,Brian

I am using Adobe 2017 ver. 10.0.1.285. When I launch "Preview Project" I have noticed the sub-bullets are aligning with the Main Bullet instead of being indented like the first sub-bullet. What is going on with the mis-aligning? I have verified the sub-bullets are aligned correctly in the project itself.Thank youJason

When I download a character through Captivate 2017 assets, it says it's downloaded and gives me the message that it is in the Elearning assets folder.However, the new images are not being pulled into the Media>>Characters window for me to select after they download.I checked the Elearning folder on my C: drive, and the downloaded image is there, but it is not showing up in the viewing window when I go to Media>>Characters.It was working up until today.Any ideas?
