Captivate

Hello, I will keep this post to the topic at hand, while ahcknowledging Captivate 12 has much to be desired.  I would like to request with overlay interactions ie. Click to Reveal Widget, if you ONLY have the image element selected, it should expand to to take up the whole overlay. At the moment, if you only have the image element selected it remains in it's small allocation of space. It shouldbe responsive, and if there is no text, it should take up the whole overlay, and only revent to it's section once a text element is added back in. Also, images should be able to be converted to buttons/links. This is a standard feature in almost every other design product I've used. I know you can use a "button" and change its fill to an image, but, a) not the same; b) limited in sizing; & c) not every widget has a button element. Kind Regards, Thanks. 

I am a complete beginner, here. I would like to start using Adobe Captivate to publish interactive lessons to a very limited number of students.I would like to either have a very cheap webhosting service to host my files so that the students can access the interactive learning material, or use my router-connected hardrive (which has a static ip address that can be accessed from anywhere with a username and a password).The problem is, I don't even know how to look up for help on this issue or what key words to use for my search.Thank you for any input.

Using Captivate 12 I am getting a hangup right after the 'Match the column1' dropdown slide and a 'Multiple choice 2' slide. when testing on Scorm Cloud or Moodle it hangs just after displaying the content of the 2/2 slide and won't let the user select the answer.  I have even rebuilt this from scratch to see if the other file had a corruption in it and am getting the same effect on the rebuilt file. I suspect a faulty interaction between slides inherent to Captivate.

For clarity I'm seeing this on versions 12.0.0.2892 and 12.1.0.16 and it's been occuring since the official release. Here are some issues I've experienced:Frequently when importing my custom theme into a new project, Captivate tells me the theme is already imported but is very clearly not.I've tried exporting/importing my theme to/from both network drives and my desktop. I see the same random behavior regardless of save location.My best workaround at the moment is to just keep saving copies of existing courses with the correct theme and building new slides in there.There are elements that remain the default blue color regardless of a custom theme, e.g. Carousel progress dots and Flipcard icons. It appears to be Color 8 in the Color Configuration, and it would be ideal for these items to reflect whatever our theme Color 8 actually is.Since there's only one button customization option for buttons, certain widgets don't use the custom theme. Hi! I've just rebuilt our pre-2023 captivate courses in The All New Captivate however I can't find the feature of question pools anywhere. Has this feature been removed? Or am I missing something? Thanks!James

Is there a way to build a slide with text and only a single image, and customize the image size and placement without choosing a pre-set design? The text and image slide template only lets you have 2 or more images and there is no way to delete the image you don't want. The intro slide template lets you choose a design that forces the image into a specific specific shape, size, and location. Is there no way to add a single image, move it around, and size it to exact specifications? This seems like a huge oversight if so. Thank you!

I have an html 5 scalable course made with captivate 9. It runs fine unless I run it from my hard drive in Google Chrome then it gets stuck loading and when I check the developers console there is a lot of errors: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. I can run it locally with IE or Firefox and have no problems. Also if I run it from network with Google Chrome I have no issues, only when run locally. I need a local version so I need to find a solution. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey Captivators! After attending the certificate workshop at Adobe Learning Summit, I'm excited to continue testing out design options. I've only done light HTML/CSS editing in the past. Does anyone have recs for LinkedIn Learning courses or tutorials that you think would provide a good foundation of CSS for the purpose of writing custom design options in all-new Captivate?Thanks in advance!Diane

Hi - whenever I add a knowledge check in the middle of the course it moves to the end in preview. I'd like to have a knowledge check at the end of each module, but every time the quiz moves itself to the end of the entire course. 

Hi,  I seem to be missing the Object State Panel in Captivate 2019 (image 1 is what I'm looking for, image 2 is what I see). I have tried a few restarts, cache clears, etc. but nothing changes. Any fixes? Thanks!

I've developed a single slide project that only involves images and characters with a couple elements having fade in/fade out transitions. When I preview, everything runs as it should. However, when I publish it to video, the second background image doesn't pull up and instead it is a red background. I've tried different images and it's the same issue. I originally had the project broken out across 2 slides, so the background image change took place with the slide change. I was having the same issue, though.Any help is appreciated!

We currently have Moodle 3.9 as our LMS. We had a issue where our Captivate courses were not bookmarking and were advised to publish using SCORM 2004 4th Edition (were using 1.2) which has resolved the bookmarking issue but we are now having an intermittent issue where courses are not completing (can't find a pattern for those that aren't completing). I have included a table of the settings we are using in Captivate. Has anyone else experienced this with Moodle? As per my title this is a major issue.Is there any plan to support internal video streaming services?Corporate rules prevent us from using either YouTube or Vimeo and the size of embedded videos will mean that we are not permitted to embed them in the SCORM modules.Why are they limited to only those two providers?

It seems impossible, but Adobe (Creative Cloud Desktop) is not supporting file types of another Adobe product (Captivate 2019). I need a could storage location as my web hosting provider's website builder needs a link to a place other than cPanel so users can access my elearning files.  What am I missing here? Thank you!

Hi,I want to add the TTS agents to Adobe Captivate. I've downloaded, extracted and installed the 'Captivate_2019_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.exe' file from https://helpx.adobe.com/africa/captivate/kb/captivate-text-speech-converters.html. No TTS agents showed up, only existing Windows agents. I think the error occurs because of my installation location. I have little space available on my C: drive so I installed Captivate to D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\. Now when I choose D:\Program Files\Adobe\ or D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\ as my installation location for the TTS installer it installs it to D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate Voices 2019 x64\. What I've tried:I've made sure that I run the extracted installs.Restarted Computer.Run Captivate as Administrator.Ran CleanPreferencesWin.bat.I've copied the VT folder into the Adobe Captivate root folder. More Details:Adobe Captivate 2019 11.2.1.499Windows 10 Pr

Adobe Captivate 11.8.2.216Mini Mac Pro M2OS Ventura 13.5.2 I was doing a purge of advanced action scripts as a piece of housekeeping to get rid of unused scripts etc. I had a captivate slide that had a button with an advanced action script assigned to it. The slide was no longer needed and it was deleted from Captivate and deleted from the system bin. On selecting this particular script to check its usage using the "usage" button in the advanced actions dialogue box I was expecting the "not in use' response. However, I get the warning dialogue "Script is used by more than one event. Please clear the references before deleting". I have been through all the scripts applied to buttons etc in the project and can find no reference to this script. Anyone any idea why this script cannot be deleted and what is the fix please. ThanksBob

Hi! I am new to Adobe Captivate and am using the timeline widget. I am trying to add audio to my timeline widget and have one general audio that starts when the user is on the slide, but want a new audio to start when the user clicks on the button in the timeline.  I see how I can use bookmarks in the timeline below, but it will start at a certain time versus when I click the button.  I've tried to do a custom interaction, but I can't figure out how to make the trigger a click action. Thanks.  

Good Evening,  This doubt is about ALL NEW ADOBE CAPTIVATE. I am practising the new captivate and not able to solve the below problem.  There is a scenario in which there are 4 icon clicks. When the 1st icon is clicked it will jump to the 2nd slide and when the 2 slide is complete the next button should be enabled, after clicking the next button on the 2nd slide it should go back to the 1st slide where the 4 icons are present. So this interaction will work for all 4 icons. In this case, any 3 icons can be clicked out of 4 icons so that it activates the next button.How to write a trigger for such kinds of interactions. Thank you, 

I am encountering a new issue on one of my Captivate Classic offerings (software simulation, not using a Table of Contents or menu).It is residing on an Oracle LMS and loads/runs properly, however, if I exit partway through, it will not re-launch...all I get is the spinning wheel. The only way we have been able to get it to launch again is to "Drop" the course from enrolment, and then re-enrol.I have not changed the default settings for bookmarking.Is this a Captivate Classic issue or a LMS issue?

Hello all, I recently had a project issue where it started on a quiz slide that I documented here. That was fixed but I've run into a new problem.This project is set up as:- multiple (~10) slides of content- three knowledge check questions- Review slide- final 'wrap up' slideCurrently you can take the knowledge check questions and then it sends you to the review quiz slide. Which shows up as black on black and then closes the project entirely. Screenshot (90) is what it looks like in Captivate, Screenshot (92) is what it looks like when previewed, in SCORM Cloud and when published in our LMS (Docebo).I'm currently using Knowledge Checks instead of Graded questions, I'm not sure if that is causing an issue either.Has anyone experienced this before?

Hello everyone,I'm using Captivate 12 and and having an issue with one of my courses and where it starts. It's a pretty simple project with ~10 slides and then 3 knowledge checks.When uploaded into our LMS (Docebo) and starting the project it starts users on Knowledge Check 3 and then takes them to the final slide. This has been confirmed to be an issue with multiple users. It's not a 'random' slide each time but the last knowledge check that it starts at each time.I've deleted and uploaded the project multiple timess, and renamed the project, but I'm still running into the same issue.Looking for any help resolving this, thanks!

How do I open a Captivate 6 project into Captivate 2019 without breaking content or animations in slides. Or could I downloade Captivate 6 even though I have Captivate 2019? Thanks.

I'm updating an older course (I'm using Classic Captivate version 11.8.1 on a PC, but the file was probably created in 2017). There is one slide that has 18(!) click and reveal buttons, where you click a button with a topic heading and it reveals text about the topic. Each button uses an advanced action that hides all the other text on the slide and shows the text associated with the clicked button. I saw that many of the buttons were erroneously advancing to the next slide rather than revealing text. I looked at the advanced actions for them and saw that "continue" was one of the actions included, along with 17 "hide" text actions and one "show" text action. When I deleted "continue" that solved the problems for most of the buttons, but there are 2 buttons, right next to each other, that now (seemingly randomly) occasionally advance to the next slide when you click on them rather than revealing text. I had been working with Captivate 2019 release 3. After a pair of months not using it I checked for updates and found that there was a release 5. I did the update but since then it hasn't been working properly. If I click to Create a new project (Blank project, VR project, From PPT or Responsive project) it doesn't create one. Not even from the menu File > New ProjectWhen I open one of my previous projects it has happened a pair of times that after a while the programme closes suddenly with an error message (I don't have a screenshot).I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. I check the updates and says there is no update needed. The problem is still the same. Could anyone throw some light there? Any explanation can help.FYI - My OS is Windows10.

Hi there i am trying to figure out how to flip the image so that the image gows to the right eb text to the left but in the same design option so it keeps the same dimensions. but i cannot find it. is the option there?
