Captivate

I installed Captivate 6 on MacOs10.10. Gave in the licence key and tried to register, the connexion to the registering webpage failed although I could manage on the adobe Konto.Please reactivate the webpage or upgrade for free to an diffrent not-cloud version, where it is possible. Or inform me about a possible way to activate Captivate 6.ThanksIngeborg

I used Captivate several years ago on a project and I must say... working through some of the quirks was very tedious. I've since used another platform (which shall remain nameless) and I found it much easier.  I'm beginning to develop my own entrepreneurial projects and because I have a Mac, I can't use my preferred software which is only supported on a PC. Can anyone provide any insight on improved usability for Captivate. Or any advice on how to ramp up Captivate knowledge quickly?

I add a widget to my project and it doesn't work after publishing. I only see the loading screen. Can anyone help me? I can send you an example.

I was wondering if anyone has experience in implementing a drag-and-drop style question in a responsive project that will have targets related to specific parts of an image. For example, you might want to identify countries by chosing from a selection of flags and dragging to the respective country. I would set up the map on the background then define the targets and sources. The challenge I have found relates to the image aspect ratio and maintaining the relationship of the drag targets to the respective parts of the image. What happens is that if the image aspect ratio is maintained, the drag targets lose their relationship to the image (they move). For my purposes the image aspect ratio must be maintained. I have followed the instructions in the docs (https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/captivate/using/drag-and-drop-interaction.html) but it doesn't work for me. I am probably missing something, so advice as always is much appreciated.

Hello,I don't know why but captivate keeps asking for a serial number while I have an active subscription.The support was really not helpful so far and verry difficult (impossible) to reach. They asked me to uninstall/install and run a cleaner tool. I did all that and it didn't change anything. I can't use captivate at all.I'm running the latest captivate 2019 for mac on mac os catalina. Thanks for you help.

I have a project with 6 nav buttons on the intro slide that take users to the 6 sections of my project. All of them work except for the button that directs you to the second to last slide, which is right after the Quiz in the project. The final slide that the Jump to Slide command will work for is the slide right before the quiz. Does anyone know why this may be?

Good Afternoon,I'm making a post today to better understand the Success/Completion Criteria under Status representationI'm using Captivate 2019 with SCORM 1.2 My issue currently is I am developing a module for new associates. It starts with a video and then followed by a quiz. If the Assocate passes the quiz, then the module will close and their completion will be recorded in our LMSIf the Associate fails then they are to review the video and upon completion they will reiceve credit.  My problem is currently I cannot make it do both, it's either one or the other. I'm trying to understand the "and/or" under Success/Completion Status, it seems like when I check both boxes "Quiz is passed" and "Slide Views 100%" it requires both of them to be true in order to recieve credit. so is there a way to make it "Quiz is passed" or "100% Slide Views" to give the associate credit? Thank you, I'm still new at this

Hi, I got a 39 questions quiz. I need action to go to slide X and reset the answers given since this slide.Actually, questions have one attempt and continue next slide if answer succeed or not. I don't care about tracking/reporting. I just need my one attempt questions can be reset when I return on them slide. Thanks !

Hello. I've seen some similar posts, but I'm not sure what to do. I have 10 graded quiz questions built throughout my course (2-3 questions after the end of a chapter). On the quiz results slide right after the final question, if the user fails and has to click the Retake Quiz button, I'd like them to be able to go back through and answer all the quiz questions again without having to view the content slides between. Is there a way I can do this without having to use the TOC or add some kind of button on the content slides they have to click to skip ahead? For example, is there maybe an action I could put On Enter of the content slides that if they've already been viewed, skip the slide? Thanks.

I have the newest edition of Captivate. When I try to import a powerpoint, Captivate freezes after opening it at the "Convert Microsoft Powerpoint" window. The slide previews don't show up, and I can't click anything on the window. Does anyone know what I can do to try to import it? It doesn't have audio.

Hello Community,   I've had this trouble with Captivate 2019 for a few weeks now.  It involves recording computer audio to a slide.  If I record narration audio from my headset I sound fine but when I record computer audio, after a few seconds of play back I get a glitchy sound.  I've tried updating the software (done), I've tried comparing recording another persons voice while in a virtual meeting and simply recording YouTube audio and I have the same result.  I've tried contacting Adobe tech support but keep getting disconnected or call dropped.  Any suggestions on how to resolve?  Here is a YouTube video and screen shot showing the issue. https://youtu.be/3QeiFFwbWqQ

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to create or add a volume slider to an existing Captivate playbar?  I need to launch my flash course in full screen mode which covers the Windows system tray and prevents users from adjusting their volume from that location.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm using Adobe Captivate 9 and I have access to the CC suite for editing FLA's.

Hi, I am working on creating a tutorial for a website portal with the video capturing the screen, and a text-to-speech providing a voiceover. When I preview this (PREVIEW > PROJECT), a new tab opens in the browser, which plays the video. However, I cannot find any way to download this. PUBLISH > PUBLISH FOR DEVICES creates a folder in my computer, which stores the file in HTML5 format (I guess). How can I download the video that I view when I preview the project? Best,

Hi Community,I'm searching for a solution for the following problem, I would be glad if you can help me.For my captivate project, I'm using a progress bar that shows me the percentage that the user already has done. It is built by advanced action (like this: https://elearning.adobe.com/2018/10/create-percentage-progress-status-slides/).The problem I have is, that I'm working with branching slides, so the user can choose which way he wants to go through the project. But the progress bar counts the slides as they are pictured in the film strip (Filmstreifen). So, if I start with the third capture, for example, I automaticlly have 75% done, without doing topic 1 and 2.So: I need a solution, where the slides get counted independent where they are in the project BUT when I go backwards (or to the branching main slide again), it should not be counted again. Do you have any ideas how I can handle this? Or ist there already a solution that I didn't find. I would be very glad and

I'm working with our Dev Team whom have created our custom LMS. We have Cp content which requires reporting, based on slide views and presently has no quiz data.The first line inquestion is the second from bottom, where the undefined completed 'Captivate E-Learning Course' (Failed) is displayed. Both images are attached. The other, second line in contention is the top-line, where slide views and/or quiz was deactivated. This raises the question, what is undefined? My other question is: How to remove this element from reporting - if not required, OR define the value/property so that when the course is completed it reports as (Passed)? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,  I have been having issues with Captivate recently.  I've searched the forums and done everything suggested but to no avail:Running as adminUpdated all webcam driversInstalled Windbg and attached Captivate to itCaptivate version is 11.8.0.586When I try to create a new recording - crashes out without an error message.When I try to import an MP4 video it complains it is not a "Flash File" and tries to convert it to FLV or F4V!!  If I click Yes it just sits there doing nothing.  I am getting SO frustrated that I do not know where to turn with this.Could anyone offer any advice please that isn't already offered on this forum as I've tried absolutely everything I can find.Many ThanksDave 

Hi, I don't know if it is the good place for my question, but i try. So, I uplaod my SCORM 1.2 project in my wordpress plugin LMS (cluevo). As long as I am logged in to my wordpress admin, I got no issue. But when I am log out, my LMS send me this message error when I launch  my project : "Authentication required to save module progress. To keep a record of your progress please login or sign up."I think this issue is due to the fact I am anonymous user. Any solution ?Thank to you !

HiWhen I publish or preview my project the text looks really pixled.I am using Open sans light 18 px.Why is this happening?Other project looks nice.I have tried alots of different fonts and sizes but all pixled.Thanx 

It is a question and a contribution to the community. I have the perpetual license of Adobe 2019. I had to reinstall it because printing in doc did not work.From the Adobe support service they have downloaded version 11.8 to my mac. Now I find that it tells me that I have to pay again because the version that I have for my license is 11.5. They only give you a 30-day trial license. Support told me not to worry, they would fix the license issue for me because I had already paid for a perpetual license for Captivate 2019.The problem is that files made with 11.8 cannot be opened in 11.5.All the work of a month you do it again or pay the new license.You pay for new licenses not for new functionality but for being able to continue with your work. I don't think it's correct in Adobe.

Does anyone else have this problem. When I choose to insert a question slide and use a True/False slide. I get this? I cannot simply make a true/false slide and its a nightmare to sort out the text

The default dropdown box has white text with a white background. The text for the questions and answers is black. That doesn't change the dropdown letter to black, though. I've tried changing the default styles, and it only changes the main text, not the letters in the dropdown box. An old post for captivate 5.5 mentions changing the text color to differ from the dropdown answer color, but I want the reverse--the dropdown letter color to match the rest of the text. Actually, I'd take any color that would show up on the default white background for the box.Please, any answers in layperson terms. I don't know code and am refamiliarizing myself with Captivate after a few years away from it.Thanks,Sally
