Hello,I am using Chracter Animator for the first time and want to animate mouth movements with lipsync.Unfortunately the mouth created in Adobe Illustrator (phonemes laid out in layers) does not react to the switched on microphone, nor to the recorded test voice recording.what am I doing wrong?Projectlink:https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/e206ada9-ac75-4987-5497-d75750bee220MacBook Pro (15 Zoll, 2016)MacOS 10.15.3Latest Vession of Adobe Charakter AnimateBest regards Patrick:::::::::::::::::::: Hallo; ich benutze Chracter Animator zum ersten Mal, und möchte Mundbewegungen Animieren mittels Lipsync. Hi,I downloaded a free puppet (Tull the cat) that worked great. I wanted to edit the color and save the puppet under a differenname, but when I import the new colored puppet it is not rigged like the original.I did not change any of the rigging... I simply renames it so as not to make a mistake on the original puppet. Please help. Thanks
So I have the same exact puppet that I am using for different projects. Is there a way to copy / transfer the rigging from one project to another project for the same exact puppet?
My problem is I have watched the video that pertains to the problems listed and still can't get how to fix them. I made a screenshot of the rigging issues and yes, I have watched Dave countless times talking about Behavior, Rigging, Tagging, and handles. I finally got her mouth the work. I'm close but yet far. Please help, I almost gave up until a miracle her mouth worked.
Help. I tried to take my whole folder where the project that I had working the way I wanted it onto a different computer. But when I opened the project in the copied over folder it didn't recognize the puppet file and nothing worked. I tried reimporting the puppet and it didn't pick up any of the behaviors that I had set. How do I switch the files to a new computer and not have this problem?
Below you'll find a video review of what it looks like bugs to me. On the video you'll see 2 problems that I still have, but hopefully I can fix them by creating a separate file. The main sticky problem with Character Animator seem to be missing parts from the the files I am working with, either complete missing layers or only partially showing layers. Triggers don't show on the screen when I trigger them, but they still show in the timeline. This happens more often if I do some changes from my illustrator file, the Rig Mode screen catches the changes without a problem, but the Record Mode screen starts showing only partial parts of the layers or doesn't show the layer at all. Also, if I start doing changes in CH in unrelated items earlier in the timeline, suddenly I find other items that are out of place and I need to go back and re-fix them. Understanding the concept of a clipping mask just by trial and error took some time, but trying
Imagine two moving objects side by side that required masking, and they are both moving up and down taking on each others paths when you switch the direction of the movement. The problem is that the masking of one item will always seems to overlap on top of other item that is right next to it. So, how could you have red and blue move up and down next to each other without having their masks hide the color right next to them? Could something like that be done quickly? Or would it require a frame by frame trigger? Check this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Joz-Pc7b1Bc
This Adobe tech support guy seriously just hung up on me a few minutes ago. Apparently the CH programs shows items on the Record mode that are not necesarily dropped in the record mode timeline.... I spent 3 days trying to figure it out, and another 40 mins with Adobe on the phone updating my graphic card.. just to go, WHAT?! The timeline was showing parts and pieces of a drawing that wasn't even in the timeline. The tech guy kept saying if it was something from the file I would have to deal it with it myself, and before I could point out that the program was showing a drawing that wasn't in the timeline he hung up the phone on me. Have the issue been solved? Not at this moment. I am going to try create this project again, but surely looks like I have to work it with bugs in the system. This is the bottom line issue I have right now, in which some parts of my drawings don't seem to come up in the record mode of CH...&nb
I made a 'Mouth Group' under 'Head' group.I created a swap set 'Mouth' and 'Mouth_alt' inside 'Mouth Group'.Both are set to independent and 'Head' is set to parallax is at 1500. It works perfect for eyes, nose and the 'Mouth' unless I swap to 'Mouth_alt', the parallax doesn't apply for this 'mouth_alt' at all. I tried all possible combinations with Weld, Hinge, Attach to... Although, I found that if I move the 'Mouth_alt' layer on top of 'Mouth' inside 'Mouth_group', it works the other way. Only the alternate mouth group works with Parallax and not the other one now.PLEASE HELP

Hello i created my character with the walking template in adobe website when I import my character the body is floating and i cant use the pin tool because i need the character to walk also the head in my character wont move with my head , the whole body moves with my head how can i fix this problem ?
So my computer for some raeason shut down and restarted back up in the middle of doing work in Character animator. I have been working on this file for 2 days, and now I try to re-open the file it says its "corrupted" and won't open. Is there a way I can get this work back?
See the picture below. I imported 4 items, 3 illustrator files, and one photoshop file with a puppet. For some reason the illustrator files are showing very small in relation to the puppet in the rig panel. Once I opne the record panel the zise looks normal, but its hard to view them in the rigging area. Is there a way I can fix it?
I made a puppet with cycle layers for more than half of the mouth shapes. They were 1-3 frames long. It didn't feel as good as I thought it was going to, it almost seemed make it worse at times. I drew the frames based off the neutral mouth, so each shape went from the neutral to the new mouth shape. But in practice they were usually starting at some mouth shape other than neutral and then going to the new shape, so the cycle layers looked weird. Anyone have any tips for smoother lip sync with cycle layers? thanks
Hi, So I am trying to really get into adobe CH. I am finding a lot of tutorials that show puppet creation and features. All very nice, but they seem to leave me (or I am not getting it) missing some key features. Barbarasaurus is very cool. I wanted to take the headlines idea and the graphics cards and use those. I see controls, even say the tutorial on how to ungroup them. I can get into the puppet and see the trigger controls, and see the original items. I can't seem to find the steps to edit, or create these types of features on my own.Any pointers to the right tutorial would be very appreciated. Thanks,
Hi everyone, just looking for some tips on improving my workflow with multiple character views. I want to understand why its neccessary to duplicate head / body layers across multiple profile views? Is it purely for a walk cycle? For my setup I wont be needing a walk cycle, so this is my setup: Character + Frontal Head (shareable) -Head Turner Body+ Left Head (shareable) -Head Turner Body+Right Head (shareable) -Head Turner Body This results in so many triggers in the record view, its a bit frustrating. However, what do I lose in this setup below?: Character Head +Frontal +Left etc Body +Frontal +Left etc Then I only want to use triggers to switch views, Head and Body separate. (Left Profile,. Left Quarter etc) to minimis
I can't figure out how to size my puppet to fit in the workspace....
I am making an animated music video for one of my songs. I used a 1280 X 720 size because I saw it recommended for animation. However, when I put it into Encoder, even with the correct size, it doesn't have a great resolution. It stills has the characters off the screen, despite my changing the CA to 1280 X 720.Here is a sample. They go off the screen at the first chorus.Scene - 01 BullyBart Title.mp4 - Google Drive
When testing the rigging on my character's eyes, I am running into an issue where the pupil is going far out of the bounds of the eyeball. When I open up the character in rig mode and examine the eyes I notice that there is a huge area for the blue boundary box, and the yellow outline of the eye is way off as well. I'm completely new to Character Animator, so if anyone can offer any advice to help with this issue, it would be massively appreciated. I have attached the psd of the character in question. Upon importing this character and opening rig mode, you'll notice the huge boundaries on each of the eyes.
Hi folks. I'm trying to create a double headed character. Pretty sure Character Animator does not allow such thing so I'm just wondering if any of you have ever tackled such isue through post-production in AE or similar? Or perhaps haven't tackled it but have any suggestion for me? Any help is appreciated.
So, are there any keyboard keys that can allow me manipulate the X and Y axis to position certain items in a puppet correclty and easily? and faster?? Using the dragging arrows with the mouse is not always easy as I run out of room to move an item up, down, left, right.... Typing the number of pixels I want to move it is often a guessing game. It would be nice to just click on the timing clock and then just drag the entire item to the position you want for the next frame. I for example have items that are flying in and out of the screen and just get them in and out is a guessing game with the typing pixels, and dragging arrows doesn't give you much room to keep on dragging them.
Hello,I have a character that is an old school cartoon gumball dispenser (vector art created in AI). The head of the character is a glass bottle, as the head moves, I would love to move a couple of gumballs around inside the bottle freely bumping into each other. When I try to set this up the gumballs just immediately fall out onto the floor. Can I make the jar shape (the character's head) the physical boundary for the gumballs and have the gumballs react to the jar (head) moving around? Even if it is just one gumball that would still be cool. Thanks!Jeff
I am a newbie. This is my first animation. I am trying to get a puppet named Caleb to walk. When I added the walk behavior, assuming his handles were all set correctly, he did nothing. I have him in a scene to which I have lip synced a voice track and added several motions and triggered actions. While searching for cues to the walking problem (using his Right Quarter) I changed his mesh from "auto" to "contour" and he disappeared from the scene. Changing back to auto did not bring him back. The scene still plays with his counterpart, Felicia, still visible and both Caleb and Felicia narration can be heard. The timeline shows both character tracks. When I click the “mesh” button in the timeline Caleb’s mesh shows up, just not Caleb. Any ideas?
Hello.I'm a complete newbie in Adobe Character Animator and I've been just following some video guides and now when I have my first personal puppet done (I downloaded the ''blank'' puppet and edited it in Illustrator), I can't import it into the Adobe Character Animator.I saved the puppet from Illustrator as .ai , but when I import this file into Character Animator, I don't see the actual puppet on my screen, nothing really happens... I'm confused and I don't know what to do.
