HelloI want my Ch puppet to walk for several seconds along a row of shops in Ae. Depending on how various menu items are set, such as stride length and body speed etc., the puppet exits the stage after about 5-6 seconds, and in Ae it just disappears after this time. Is there a way of, so to speak, increasing the width of the walk cycle stage to let the puppet walk longer in Ae? Also, I have noticed that if I press the stop record button before it exits the stage, in Ae it just keeps walking till it reaches a duration of the above 5-6 seconds and then disappears, so it is not possible to freeze his stature at the desired time. If anyone can suggest any alternatives I would be very grateful. Thanks
I'm confused on the whole draggable, body, head tags etc. When do you fix the head, body or layer to make some groups fixed, others draggable. I'm lost.Sometimes its the whole puppet, sometimes just one arm? Help
As a newbee I tried to add a tabletop to the template puppet "Dave", in a way that this tabletop is completely independant from the puppet, but both hands should be on top of the tabletop. Right now the table is moved around if the right arm is moved. How can I unlink the table from the hand/arm?
I'm currently creating scenes that involve a character walking at a body speed of 0% and I have a background puppet with a body speed of -15%. So it looks like my character is walking even though the background is just moving behind the character. My issue is that when I try to navigate throughout my timeline, the walking is always wonky. Rather than reversing the distance my background has traveled, when navigating, the background picks up where it was left off. I know there is a refresh button, and I do use that to start my scene new again, but I have to play the entire scene from the start and let it play out to understand where my puppet and background are, rather than just skimming through the scene in my timeline. Is there a fix for this?
With CA 2.0, I was able to do the following:Record a puppet performanceModify a Puppet Track Behavior (for example set Face | Pose To Pose Movement from 0 to 100 with a minimum pose delay of 1 second).Replay the recorded puppet performance and see the behavior changes reflected in the playback (so that now the head moves every second). With version 2.1, playing back the performance doesn't reflect the behavior changes I made (so the head is still moving fluidly in realtime rather than waiting a second between changes). If I'm not in playback mode, and in realtime mode, the head moves every second, but when I press play, the head moves fluidly as it did when I recorded it. I've been sure to select Push Value To Source Puppet in the Puppet Track Behaviors panel for the PtoP movement (this seems to do nothing).Am I missing something here? Is there another step required to apply changes to the prerecorded performance? Thanks
Right now I am trying to record about a minutes worth of work. I have already worked with the sound and gotten it the way I want it. Then it did the face and the sound showed up again (a second soundtrack) which I threw away. Now, I am doing the arms and again the sound track is rerecording itself. How do I stop that from happening?
I switched to Character Animator version 2.1 and now all my puppets get same problem. When I leave dragger hand don't coming back smoothly. Puppets created in Illustrator and worked well on last Ch. An. version
I have current, updated, versions of Character Animator and After Effects. I am trying to export a scene, with Puppet and Audio from Animator to After Effects.I have seen older tutorials for this that use file menu items that my versions have. Can you advise on how to do this - step by step please - and also if it is possible to export and import the audio track, as when I have tried it, this does not appear in AE.UPDATE: I have now been able to import to AE by dragging the scene from CH. The problem is that when it plays, it is in slow motion, perhaps 4 times slower than normal speed. Anyone have thoughts on what is the problem? Thanks for any suggestions.Message was edited by: Stephen Power Updated with new issue.
when I open the files, it looks like what happens when your files in AfterEffects are disconnected. any way to relink them?
Hello. I‘m working on an animation that features action (dance moves) that need to be timed to the music. Can I import the music track into Character Animator or do I need to use anorher program to do this? In short i need to animate to the music and need pointing in the right direction.I have all Adobe apps including Premiere, After Effects and Audition.i have searched the forum and extensively googled but without luck.Thanks...
I'm very new to Adobe Character Animator - I've only had it a few days - and I'm using one of the ready-made characters (Mark), for a scene I'm planning to introduce a series of tutorial videos. I've pre-recorded the VO, with a backing tracking, in Audition, and imported it into CH. I've set the Timeline to 'Compute Lip sync Take from Audio', and that has worked well, when there is speech. But, there are times when there is no speech only backing tracking, and the mouth moves. Also, there is another short VO, which is intended to be 'voices off', and so no lip sync is required. Can anyone advise me on how to edit the tracks so that the mouth does not move when I need it to be closed, please? Thanks for any suggestions.
I need to have my puppet blink and such but as soon as I put the sound into CA the mouth moves but I can't seem to affect the eyes at all, not while it is happening and not afterward. How can I change this to make my puppet more 'alive'?
Hi,I am new here and I am starting an animation project, but I want to make sure I am prepared so I don't hit a roadblock by creating character reference sheets, writing scenes down and collecting reference photos for accuracy, and what the bigshots at Disney and Dreamworks do before they start their animations. At what point am I prepared enough to start animating?
I am getting the following error. I have seen in the forum that a file has to be sent for fixing. Please advise.
Each and every time an Adobe update goes into effect I become extremely worried because inevitably it does nothing but cause me a great deal of headache and loss of productivity. This time, it seems I can no longer import a Character Animator recording into After Effects 2018 (CC) because that functionality appears to have vanished (script) and any apparent help in rectifying the matter seems to be unavailable. I was not in need of an update and wish that updates were optional or at least come with the ability to be reverted to previous versions without further issue. Now that I have voiced my complaint: I have uninstalled/installed the latest versions of both AE and CA but I am still unable to create a dynamic link between the two and the script that used to allow me to import CA to AE is no longer present. It seems I am now left with performing a standard import of CA .png sequences along with the import of the associated .wav files then painstakingly matching them together in AE. If
Hello!Today I've downloaded a trial version of Adobe Character Animator CC 2019 and I experienced two errors with whom I can't even start to work. When I first opened the app everything was fine. I've watched sample video tutorial in "start" menu - I could move sample puppets and lip-syncing them. I could also opened characterizer and some sample puppets. When I open the program it’s not opening on „start menu” but I see 2 errors like this: 1. „WARNING: is project: „[name of the project]” already open?Opening a project on one computer at a time can corrupt the project. A crash can also leave a project open, in which case opening the project should be safe.Open Anyway / Cancel”I also realized that every time I try to open and I see this message, name of the project has different number (so it looks like every new opening creates a new project, and now I have 16 projects that I haven’t created).2. Sometimes I don’t see warning from 1, but it opens on something which look like a
Hello people! I am this person who had problems with NVIDIA Geforce:2 problems: "Warning: Is project... already open and?" and closing program Now I use inegrated Intel graphic card, because as you can see in my previous post using NVIDIA was one big crush. I tested it with Intel card on sample puppets and it seemed to work fine. I was happy that I've got temporary solution, but NOT. With Intel it also doesn't work. I've created a new thread because now the problem is different. When I want to use not sample project, my rig mode is usable, but instead of puppet I see something very weird instead of my puppet (and it happens on Intel card, not nvidia). It looks like this:What can I do? Switch on Adobe Animate? Is any possiblility to fix this program? (all my computer specs are in the linked thread)...DanTull any ideas? You were helpful with nvidia problem. I suppose it's not related to nvidia if it is turned off, so maybe solving it isn't as hard...
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue where when I try to open a scene in Character Animator I get multiple errors as seen in the link below. They include:"Error reading past end of file""Error code (Container: js:361)""Error code (engine.js:474)""Error code (bootstrap.js:3)"I've tried refreshing the scene by pressing Ctrl + Shift+ R, F5, but that did not work.Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks so much!https://imgur.com/a/fsBdCTI
Hi. Can anyone please help me? I have been working in character animator. I have noticed with the latest releases of CH that the lip sync seems to be more sensitive and seems to create more visimes for pre recorded audio tracks, this means more often now, i have to go back an manually adjust the automated lip syncs. Is it possible to add a sensitivity option to control how many vismes it may add when automation the lip sync?
Hi. I was drawing the new appearance for my puppet, tuning triggers and finally got this Puppet is broken in CH - YouTube Any thoughts? That's really annoying to lose all day for such a thing. Is there any video about common problems with this app on Youtube?
Hello to the group,I've been trying out character animator and have run into a snag. My scenes are very slow to playback and to difficult to run smoothly when recording live audio for puppets. My system is up to par with the requirements to run Ch, but I noticed my puppets are about 100mbs each. Could this be the issue that is causing a slowdown? If so, is there a way to reduce the file size of the puppet without scaling or losing too much quality? These puppets are made out of photos that have been chopped up and converted into puppets.
Hi there,To whom this may concern, I hope you're well.I'd like to find out if there is a way to control how the legs of a puppet bend? Once my puppet starts walking the legs bend back to much and only straightens out to about 160 degrees while busy walking and only straightens once the walking cycle ends. It's best seen on the leg moving to the front for a new step, instead of going straight for the step it says bent backwards. See an example frame below:I tried fiddling with the rigging structure to see whether it sorts the problem but with no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please.Kind regards,Roann
Hi Everyone,One of the resons why I am not sold on the character animator walk cycle is the up and down movement, it look really robotic and I cant find a way or setting to stop it.Is there any way to control that? I really dont like it, it's to harsh and unrealistic. I do all my walk cycles manually where I can ease the movement to make it suttle depending on the character. Could this be an addicion on a near update? Control smoothness and strenght of up and down motion?Best!
If you are running Character Animator 2.1 on macOS 10.14.0 (the original release of 10.14), Character Animator might hang on startup.Workaround: Update to macOS 10.14.1 or later.
