Hi all -I'm trying to rig a character in Character Animator. When I move my head - his hips also warp for some reason. I can't for the life of me figure out why. I've attached a screengrab of the warping that is happening along with a screengrab of how i have the bottom half of him tagged. Any help would be appreciated!!!Thanks,
How do folks!I'm interested in creating a character and using it within youtube, like a host, maybe live streaming/ game plays etc.So my question is, is there a way of recording a character while recording said game play? or would this have to bedone on a separate system? ie one recording CA and the other recording something else?any info, or examples of this being done would be great!!!cheers!!!
Can anyone explain the logic behind the Maddy .psd layers? Why is it that each view appears to be duplicated?? There's:FrontalRight ProfileLeft Profileand then under each of those is a head and body group, and then each of those has a frontal, R/L quarter, and R/L profile. Why all the redundancy? I don't understand...
Hey guys and gals!PLEASE HELP ME.I'm making a swarae into the world of CA and have been adapting parts of the "Almasol" fileto suit my character in PS however, my character is getting cropped out because of the file size...?I haven't made any adjustments other than replacing the existing body parts in the ps file so why would this be??anywho, ive just spend the best part of 3 hours trying to rectify this without prevail. I figure it must have something to dowith the original ps file being too big... but I cant reduce the size of it with the entire puppet going mental, check it out - This is the original -Here is the resized version -and look whats happens when i move my head! Please tell me theres an easy solution to this!!! xxx
For a live production that will air tomorrow 2pm European time (help!) we have created a puppet and for some reason the left pupil has a life of its own. Put on keyboard input when I press the left arrow key it goes right, and vice versa. Up: it starts to go up and shifts down again. I checked the tags, of all eye layers. I restarted with a copy of the psd... I changed the mesh. Nothing. The right eye works fine. And of course I cannot se any difference in the layers between the two... In an earlier post the problem was missing eyeballs. We have eyeballs. I even exchanged the uneven eyeballs with round ones: no change.Any ideas, anyone? Would be a great help. Thanks!
I landed on what I think is a large bug, which I've posted on the the bug report page. I'm hoping it's actually a user error, but while waiting to be set straight, I'm looking on this forum for a workaround. Is there a way, in Character Animator (see the other post for why it has to be in Ch and not Ps or Il) to move layers from one group folder to another? Or, alternatively, is there a way to copy the properties (tags, etc.) of one folder and paste then onto another? I haven't found such a solution so far.Martin
With the removal of the staple system in Character Animator, I can't get the back long hair layer to move and attach with the head, and definitely can't add dangle physics to it. Currently, it moves with the body no matter which way I rig it, and dangle either doesn't work or adds the body to the dangle. Attached are pictures showing what's happening. Opening up previous puppet files that used the old staple system still works, but I can't replicate it with a new puppet in Character Animator CC.Set up 1: You can see that the back hair layer doesn't move completely with the head, and when I try to attach a dangle to the hair layer here, the body becomes distorted. Set up 2: Changing the hair layer to independent
Hi,We have rigged a puppet guy and enabled the walk behavior, but the puppet is not moving. The rigging has been performed by keeping the Maddie tutorial as a reference. Is there any problem with the layering or rigging?. Any help on the same would be greatly appreciated. Please find screenshots below for reference.
I started off with the Maddy character and built my own character with frontal, right and left profiles. It all worked great including lip sync and walking. Now I want to add a full swap to a seated version of the character. I have put all the standing and walk cycle versions into "Default" and put my seated version in "Seated" and created a swap set. It now swaps between standing and seated. The only problem is he doesn't walk any more! How should I structure the character so the walk cycle works but I can still do a full body swap?Thank you!
Hi,We have a puppet of a guy and are trying to make him walk. The body and head are separate layers as per the character animator standard and the walk cycle was created by using the Maddie tutorial. We are facing issues when we enable the webcam and perform the face movement and head turner behaviors the head detaches from the body and moves on its own.The independent property has not been enabled for head and body. We are not able to figure out what the exact issue is and any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Please find below screenshots for your reference.
Hello, how would you animate a man walking away from the camera at this angle? When setting up the walk cycle? Should I still place both legs straight? Should I place them at an angle? Should I make one leg shorter than the other?I will scale him gradually down. But I'm confused about leg angles. Please help.
Is the dangle behavior already dose not have this function? I can't find it at cc version
Hi,I have successfully made many characters of my own from many templates offered here on Adobe. Today I began building everything from Scratch but I'm having trouble figuring out how to label the layers correctly. As you'll see in my image, the templates have one layer underlined & the other with a downward arrow. They seem to help control everything. Can anyone show me how to do this or show me another way to bundle the eyes together. Many thanks,Ian
Hi,All of my previous puppets have long necks so when the character moves there head the body follows nicely. For my latest puppet there is no visible neck due to the long chin so I have to make a choice of an independent head with no body movement that shows the neck or a joined puppet that tilts the head with the body following. Is there a way to get the best of both worlds? Many thanks,IanIndependent HeadJoined Puppet
I'm just trying to do a simple animation of a company avatar (a chat bot character) and I;d like to reuse the mouth lip-synch objects/layers from the blank face instead of redrawing/recreating the objects and layers...
I recorded handle animation on my puppet - specifically his right arm (our left) pointing at his shirt. During playback, sometimes the arm stays up; sometimes it flops back to resting position. It's random. Not sure if I've done something wrong. I made a screen recording - not sure how to attach it. Thanks!
Hello,I was trying to change the mouth characteristics so that when my puppet lip synced, that it would have sounds such as "Ah" for example. I seem to be unable to do this as my puppet was made in Photoshop, the mouth was made as a straight line. Is there any way to fix this? Also, for the lip syncing, I seem to be unable to make my puppet lip sync even though I have all of the sounds as visemes, etc... Is there any way to fix this?
When I pull the scenes from Ch over to Pr and it works fine, but it's not always that the changes that I make later I Ch will be updated in Pr. Is there an option to update the link between Ch and Pr with a shortcut key combination? In an internet browser, we have F5. Or are there any other ways to do this? The link between Ps and Ch works every single time, so I wonder that it does not work in the same way between Ch and Pr. Is there anyone who also can explain to me why there is a difference?
I have a question...why does Acquavella have right and left profile inside the frontal group as well as their own group? I am trying to rig a character similarly with multiple profile capabilities (such as left and right quarter, left and right profile, back of the head, frontal) and want to know the reasoning for this so I can play with it as well as be in the know, thanks in advance everyone Character Animator oksamurai
This is a great new feature, but what if blink is larger than the eye aperture? I tried this out as explained in the tutorial and I essentially see the blink layer through the mask. I've attached the layer hierarchy.Martin
There are a number of threads in this forum relating to crashes, but none seem directly related to the issue I'm having.I'm using a laptop workstation with Windows 10. When the program starts up, as soon as the camera light goes on, indicating the camera is being accessed, the program dies instantly.I started the Camera app, which works fine, and if I start Character Animator at that point it will run properly, without access to the camera. I can open a template, the voice activated visemes will trigger correctly. The camera pane remains black, which I understand is expected behavior when the camera is in use, but if I then close the Camera app and try to switch to default camera, the light turns back on and the program dies instantly.Any advice?
Hello everyone! I am trying to rig a character with multiple profiles but have never done this before. From what I currently understand I would need to do is initially have my frontal profile character and copy the layer in Illustrator for example and rename it to the different profiles I need for my animation, correct? But now where I'm getting unsure: Do I need to alter or change every mouth, eyebrow, and eye position layer? Does character animator natively move the perspective of the mouth based on head position, will it still lip sync? I hope this makes sense lol, I'm just fairly new to this Adobe software and it makes me uneasy trying to plan a project out right now. Thank you in advance for any advice or info!
Hello,I am trying to move a character that I made from scratch around in photoshop, but seem to be unable to move it at all. Below is an image of my layer structure.
I was wondering how I would go about importing GIF files into character animator, so the GIF file looks like it did prior to the import?
Hello,I have made two layers for the pupils and other components of my puppet, II chose to redo the head layer, and it is now covering up my mouth/eyes for my puppet, is there any way to fix this?
