Hey all!Hopefully one of you delightful animation space wizards can help me on my quest for enlightenment....I'm trying to make a character (just a head like an emoji/smiley) stay centered instead of wandering when my head moves on the webcam.I still want the head to turn but by staying centered, I've managed this once before but can't seem to find the trick here, aside from of course deleting the "Face" behavior - which isn't ideal and reduces more natural animation options.Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!!!
Can you save a scene (performance) without a background? I'm going through Media Encoder CC2018.In Character Animator, whether I select no background, or white background, the rendered .mp4 video always has a black background......
I have a puppet with a mouth on the side. He talks out of the side of his mouth like an old school gangster. But the mouth would look great if I could only do a nutcracker jaw that goes from side to side instead of from up-and-down. Is that possible? Or do you have any ideas how I might achieve this?
Hi all.I took "wilk" puppet, in order to make minor changes and use it as a different puppet. yet, when i use the new puppet (there is still lots to change but i wanted to try it out) - the puppet ears, eyes, hands just disconnect or behave in a weird way.can you maybe take a look at tell me what I did wrong there ??I tried to stay exactly within the same layers and rules....I shared the puppet so U can see by yourself.TY ! I just cant figure this out. golda cat.puppet - Google Drive
Hi there!I am brand new to animation as well as Character Animator. I have been tasked with creating animated characters for our HR department. I created the first one today as a demo and I am having trouble with the right eye. It is doing odd shape shifting. I thought I had it set the same as the left but it just won't work correctly. Any advice? I have researched the forum and watched numbers of videos on YouTube but haven't been able to fix it. There is one other smaller issue, too, and that is when it is "talking", there are some dead spots where no mouth shows up. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. Any assistance is appreciated. I tried to figure out myself but just keep going around in circles. A screenshot of the eye is attached and a link to the files on Creative Cloud is also provided. Thanks again!https://adobe.ly/2ESFhqf
Hey there! After the update of Character Animator, the arms of some of my puppets became detached from their bodies, even if in Rig mode everything looks the same as before. In one of the puppets, that has 3 views (Frontal, Left Profile and Right profile) the arms in Frontal and Left Profile became detached, but the Right profile is working properly like before. I tried deleting the old rigs and doing it again but it doesn't work, they can't be attached. In one of the puppets, when I changed the attach style from Hinge to Weld, the arms became attached again, but it didn't work for the other puppets. And this only worked after doing it several times with no result. What do you think? Please tell me, if you had the same problem!
Hello,I am writing to inquire about signal quality coming out of Adobe Character Animator and going into a Blackmagic UltraStudio mini. I am getting rough edges around the puppet when attempting to key out the background. Please see the linked PDF for further explanation on my setup and equipment used. Any help or suggestions you may have are greatly appreciated.https://www.dropbox.com/s/d3e2rn6ky5xdop0/System%20diagram%20pdf.pdf?dl=0Thank you,Jay B.
Hey guys,Would love your input on my attempt at Character Animator. Any feedback/suggestions are welcome!Thank you
Hi folks,When I import an aiff file, drag it into the scene and select it with the puppet I want to use for lips syncing and select "compute..." the visemes appear correctly ont the time line but when i play the scene, i can ear the audio but the lips sync doesn't work. Any idea to solve this?Kind regards,Chris
Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Every so often after the v1.5 release, when rigging a puppet, I get the "hand" tool stuck. I click on the magnifying glass, but it stays on the hand (pan) cursor icon. I can click on the other icons, and the turn blue, but the cursor icon stays on the pan tool (and it does panning). I have to exit CH and restart it to get the magnifying glass etc to work again.Another one I got is trying to use ALT to zoom out would sometimes show the "zoom out" cursor (magnifying glass with a "-") and sometimes show the "pan" tool again.I also used to get rigging to deadlock the screen if I used the rigging tool commands too quickly. (I was told this was a race condition in some JavaScript code for the frontend.) Now I am seeing the same deadlock doing things in the scene timeline as well - not often, but more than before. I don't know if this is because CH is a bit slower overall, so I am hitting the race conditions more frequently.ANyone else having problem
Hi all, so I've installed Character Animator (v1.5) but like a few other posters on here, I am receiving the 'Camera Busy' message. It's picking up sound, but no vision.Any help would be hugely appreciated.I've tried the solutions suggested in other posts, but so far no luck. What I've tried:Switching to 'Next Camera' (cycled through up to 8 times)Switched to 'Default Camera'Uninstalled then re-installed.Restarted 'puteruninstalled, restarted box, re-installed.Checked to see if there's any other app or software using the webcam - nada. (checked through terminal)I've checked the specs on my box and I'm well within the recommended dosages. Here's my stuff:Mac Pro Mid 2012 (NB this is a tower NOT a Macbook)3.2 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon20GB Ram 1066 DDR3NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048MBLogitech HD Webcam C615 (External USB)I'm running El Capitan - 10.11.6(I've not upgraded to Sierra yet as I've got some big projects on the go and I'm still a bit antsy about changing up until they're off the books
This is just an observation and I'm wondering if other people have found this-I have found that sometimes the unnecessary behaviors delay the significant ones. I have begun the habit of eliminating those. For instance, let's say I have a scale behavior in a take. Another take starts slightly earlier, or ends later. Even though it's the same behavior, it is switching between takes automatically, which it should be. But I am making sure the take goes straight through, rather than vacillating between takes. Often if I have multiple takes, this happens a lot. So unless absolutely necessary, I use a complete take, rather than pieces of different ones.
Hello! Just wanted to share a short (6:30) film I made this summer with Character Animator. I've been working with photographs and shooting my actors from various angles, running through their visemes, then in this case using the entire photo (background included) as each "mouth" layer. Here's the film: Q + A on Vimeo It's my second lengthy Ch film, the first being entirely constructed from public domain comics and audio. This one, I have one character interviewing with public domain audio, while the other character answers in a voice over specifically written for this project.
So I made a short film with all headwork done in Character Animator. I used public domain comics and radio shows from the 1940s-60s, though the mouths of comics drawings don't match phonemes so I faked my way through those layers. Here's the film, Innocence of Seduction:I have a few projects close to completion using live models photographed making the phonemes, then having their entire portrait correspond to the "Mouth" list rather than separate mouth, face, eyes etc. Character Animator is so much fun to work in, and everyone I show it to is stunned at how cool/ fun it is!
Hello,I have checked this puppet's structure against other puppets, copied her layer order from other, working, puppets, but she won't move. Her head works, with head turner behavior, and the arms are draggable. She doesn't won't move her body when I am moving in the video screen. I'm sure it's something simple I have overlooked, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the problem.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RAuPGmRMUCgvKGBcSOsoICN3kSeqyz3c/view?usp=sharingThank you in advance for any help that can be provided.Cheers,Nancy
Sounds like one of those "guy walks into a bar" jokes, and as I just thought of that while typing (as ridiculous as that sounds), but could become the theme of a series.Anyway, I'm thinking this cannot be done if my character has a "Walk - Bodyspeed" that's greater than 0, as all my boxes move in the direction of the walk. So, please correct me if wrong, but will I not have to animater via the "Transform" properties?Hope this is all clearly stated. Thanks!
Hi. This is a real pain in the a.. for me so please help My puppet is standing sideways and I have a problem with bending. Arm of my puppet almost everytime bend counter clockwise. Sometimes I need to do 20 takes to get movement of my puppet's arm right. I tried to change positions of handles/draggers and still nothing...Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem.
I want to change the scenes behind my puppet but not the puppet itself but every Photoshop image I import gets turned into a puppet. Is there a way to change the scene instead?
Not sure why but the wings disappear when I add motion triggers. Any help and guidance is appreciated.
Hello, I created my first Character and so far not bad. I have a few issues but I will get them fixed. The one that bothers me the most and I cant seem to find answer for is the viseme Uh that simply doesn't display anything. When I record a scene, I can see it's the Uh sound by dragging the cursor over the Uh portion of the audio. Anyone had that problem?
Good Afternoon! I am having trouble with one of my puppets. I can't seem to figure out how to make parts dependent on others. When I try to attach an arm to the body, the origin is still coming from the middle. I am still new to Character Animator and am trying to teach myself so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Hi! I made a puppet in Illustrator and saved it as an illustrator file. But every time I try to import this file in Character Animator, the program shuts down. Does anyone know what's the cause of this problem?
Hi all,I've been at this all day and I'm at my wits' end. It has been some months since I have used Character Animator and my old puppet, so I decided to start from scratch. I wanted to update some details in the Illustrator file (hands, eyebrows, cosmetic changes.) I've re-rigged the puppet and finally got everything working. Except, I cannot get the head to tilt. I've downloaded Chloe and Seth to examine how they are rigged. I'm stumped Also, (not sure if it is related) the mesh and mesh outline do not outline the head or body. Instead they extend all the way out to the bounding box. I could really use some help solving this mystery. Thank you!Dropbox - MOE_the_Knowbot_2018.puppet
After I downloaded the latest version, my characters, who had previously walked with correct arm motions, no longer do that. Their arms at the elbow go completely in the wrong direction, as though their elbows are broken. In one scene the character's head is turned backward. Bottom line-the behaviors aren't the same. I'm a beginner to this program, but my puppets are done through a 3rd party and suddenly aren't working correctly. I would love to show you, but haven't figured out how people attach the CA file to this forum and haven't been able to convert it yet to an MP4.
I have a character that has ears that I want to fall when given a trigger in the scene recording mode but haven't been able to figure it out. The layer is independent and I have applied the "dynamic" and "collide" tag to it but as soon as I open the character in scene recording mode the ears are already gone.Has anyone else had this experience?Any help is appreciated.Thank you.
