Hello, I am using Character Animator 1.1.1 on a Late 2013 iMac running Sierra 10.12.6. I am attempting to use the live output of Character Animator and run it out of the Thunderbolt connector into a Blackmagic Ultra Studio Mini Monitor (OR Ultrastudio Express, I've been trying both) and then into the Blackmagic TV Studio Switcher. I cannot get the live output to work through the Blackmagic selection on the Live Output preference screen. I can alt-tab over to Blackmagic media express and that will output a signal without changing anything so at least I know the Mini Monitor and the connection are working properly. I then go back to Character Animator and nothing. Any thoughts on how I can get this to work? Am I missing something super simple here?Thank you for your help!Jay B.
I am trying to have my puppet leap in the air, and have the head go with it. I have tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to work.
I am working on a project with a live radio show. I need some information on how to keep my background and foreground from bobbing around with my puppet. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes it works fine, other times the desk bobs around, or sometimes the background bobs around. I read in another thread that it would be easier for program to process if i kill the live feed and add everything in post (AE), which is fine, but i would like it to be live if possible like it should work. Any help would be appreciated. Mac OS High Seria (10.13.2 )MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)3.1 GHz Intel Core i716 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3Radeon Pro 560 4 GBIntel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB
My Puppets Pupils keep leaving the eyes and the clipping mask doesn't work. I could use some additional help please. Can I show you my files. I had to set up photoshop image a little differently because of half lid situation.
Hi,I'm having a bit of trouble with the Origin point and walking behaviours. My question is more about the nature of the Origin Point. When you are not selected on any group there is an Origin Point that appears and it seems to be messing with my walking behaviours. When I first brought my puppets in from illustrator, the Origin point was way off from the centre of the character. When I adjusted it, it really messed up my walking behaviour, so I tried to put it back... but since it was in the middle of nowhere it turned into a bit of trial and error. How does the Origin point, when not selected on any groups, work? Is there a way to reset it to it's original? Thanks,
Hi all, I'm exploring the nutcracker jaw for the first time.I've recorded vocals from a friend and only have audio, rather than a visual for the nutcracker jaw to read.Is it possible to use nutcracker jaw without a face to read? I.e. can it work out mouth approximations using just the audio/visemes?Many thanks, Rob
Hello,I'm having some problems, and hope anyone can guide me through them, thank you in advance.Problems I'm facing: 1. The arm stretches just fine, but the hands go nuts, I know the arm is doing it, but since it's a simple shape we won't notice it. So how can I make it follow the arm, but in a way that it doesn't stretch along with it; 2. The sleeves are stretching too. I just want the arm to stretch. 3. The sleeves are in front of the arm. I can't figure a way out to make the forearm go in front of the sleeve but still be attached to the upper arm.The scene goes like this: - Boy stretches its arm and grab the popcorn [ press C and V for popcorn and upside-down popcorn ] - Then he grabs some popcorn and eat it - End I got Pickupbot as an example, but it has the same problem I'm trying to avoid.Puppet file:Dropbox - Animeese_CharacterAnimator.p
Hi guysIve added Head Turner to my puppet. My frontal profile works fine but when I activate blink on the other profiles the blink doesn't hide siblings and also the eyebrows don't respond. I cant see any difference in the set up between my Frontal folder and the other profile folders in my head group and I'm now completely stumped. They have worked fine in the past but Its decided to stop working and now I cant fix it. Please help.
Hi guys.I want to have my character drinking a beer. Ive tried everything I can think of. Either the default arm position disappears or it shows up when the cycle is happening making him have two arms. How do I fix this issue? Thanks guys. Love your work.
Can someone send me the js file for the walking behaviour? It can be found Adobe CC\App\Ch\Runtime\animal\scripts\js\behaviorsunder the name "Adobe.walk"I can't find it in my version and i kept searching for it online and i don't know what 's wrong! Can someone please send the file to me ? I need it urgently! Thanks in advance !
Hey,I've got some problems with my puppet, that I tried to fix it, but I didn't find a way :s .Its eyes are exorbitant. I tried to change the shape of the eyeball (didn't work), and to apply a mask (didn't work). so i'm currently short of idea...The head looks disarticulated, I've tried some manipulation, but it didn't work.If someone could take a look and explain me what i've done wrong, it would be really great...ILL_Steve.ai - Google DriveSome suggestion:for the skeleton of the puppet, it would be great to have the ability to define chains of connected articulations, for better deformation controlcurrently, when we manipulate the puppet, the limbs can be extended looking like Elastic Man. It would be great to have something more rigid.for the stick of the skeleton of the pupet, it would be great to have the ability to define the nature of the stickex: elastic - It can be extendedflexible (/semi-rigid) - It can be bend ( limbs bend over, describing curves)rigid - It can't be extended
Character animator is not recognizing my eye blinks but it does recognize my head movements. I've tried different lighting but nothing works. I'm using Any thoughts? Here is my illustrator template. Using Character Animator 1.1.1 on windows. My character rig in Animator:
Hi there, I'm new to Character Animator, and can't get my character's Body to move with his Head (not alone in this I see). I used Chloe as an example for setting up layer independence in Illustrator & it all seems to match. I've gone through anything I can find in terms of Help, New Feature & Getting Started videos but I can't fix it. (BTW, the body was moving when I first placed the character into my New project, but then I hid the Body Group in Illustrator so I could focus on the Head, but the Body's still not moving now I've made it visible again.) On another note, I'm having trouble attaching my arms to the body as well.
Hi guysI've added the wiggler to the character layer (the highest in the hierarchy) but for some reason it's not working, no matter how low or high I set it.The red button is on so not sure what is going on, has anyone else had this issue? It's the same for Photoshop and Ai puppets.
Hello again, ive made two puppets who need to talk to each other in a conversation. Is there a standard way to approach this to optimise realism? Would it be best to record one side of the conversation and then the other separately so the lip sinc will work for each individual puppet? Or should i just record the whole conversation in real time then go in and tag the puppets to each voice? Thanks for your help in advance, regards, john.
I want Mouth Movement like from this vidoe: How The LEGO Batman Movie Should Have Ended - YouTube Would this be the program to do it with, and how...........I want it to track my mouth for the movement. Let me know if you have any questions as I will be happy to answer them . Thanks in advance
I'd like to create seamless facial movement with hair or other elements that respects the position of head/face movement. I was experimenting with the Chloe character and set her parallax to 600% or higher, which solved half of my problem. What I noticed however is that Chloe's hair movement does not correspond to her facial movement, for example if I shift my face up or to the left the hair stays in the same place rather than scaling/rotating/positioning accordingly. Also her eyes, nose and mouth don't shrink vertically when I shift my head to an extreme direction.I know I can create different angles for the face like the Wendigo model but for this character it would be too jerky and I need it to be smooth.I am currently achieving this effect with the Joysticks n Sliders plugin for After Effects for my character's head animation, it's a great plugin but I'd rather achieve this effect without having to make keyframes. Can this be achieved through Character Animator?
This is driving me mad, the left arm which sits slightly behind my character works fine and hinges from the shoulder. The right arm which is the top layer will not attach to the shoulder no matter what i do. I'm sure its something simple but ive literally spent all afternoon trying different things. The online tutorials mostly show an older version so doesn't completely apply to my problem. I really would be grateful for any assistance, regards, John.
Does anyone know where on thew Adobe site links to user-generated examples of Character Animator can be posted for discussion? I tried to post a simple example of my use of Character Animator for discussion and interest, but it was rejected by the moderator. As with all such rejections there is no explanation, leaving one with the impression that the people at Adobe are both stuffy and insular - which is not the case I imagine but which they should be highly aware is what sometimes comes across. Would it not be a good idea to allow exchange of experiments with CA produced videos?
LizzieCA.puppet - Google Drive I need her glasses to be opaque like in the .ai file, I've tried rasterizing, how could I make this happen?
Hey everyone,I have a few questions about what can be achieved within Ch or not, as I couldn't find any direct search result to answer my queries. I'm not new to animation itself, I've been doing it for almost 16 years now, but in other softwares mainly. So my questions are as follows:1. When making a puppet, is it possible to set up a full 360 rotation of said puppet? I understand how to set up the head structure and use the Head Turner Behavior to get the main frontal 180 degree head turn. I would like to be able to do that same head turn using the camera even when the puppet is facing (body & head) in a side profile,3/4 (front and back) profile, and Back profile,2. Is it possible to create Tags in order to make more complex rigs that may not be of human anatomical proportions? Example: 4 legged animals, fantasy creatures, articulated hands, etc.3. Can Ch also motion capture a puppet's body rig using the camera? As an alternative to only using drag handler's/triggers, etc.4. Is t
I can't figure out why my character's pupils leave the eyeballs. Camera input isn't as bad as keyboard input. I've gone over all the labeling, compared it with other functioning puppets,,,, I'm lost?
Hi,This is my first time asking a question here since I couldn't find any topics relating to this problem.I'm was using Character Animator for the first time and when I selected the default Blank Face puppet, the scene appeared grayed out. That is to say the background is gray and the puppet isn't visible at all. I tried selecting different puppets from the Start screen and still had the same result.I'm on a PC, using the latest version of Windows 10 Home, i7 1.80GHz processor, 16GB memory, NVidia GeForce MX150 graphics card, 256GB SSD storage. I hope this is enough information. I hope someone can figure out what's wrong, I'd really like to start using Character Animator.Thanks.
I´m having this issue where any changes that I make on the PSD file (no matter at which level) when saved, the Head of my character jumps to a slightly different position (left). Does this have anything to do with the fact that i have a "Cycle Layer" group at the same level as the Head? Where should be the proper hierarchy?thanks in advance!
I created a puppet in Character Animator and recorded some videos that I want to turn into a presentation where my puppet will be giving the presentation. So 1st) I need to record my puppet with the voice for the presentation and then 2nd) sync the puppet to each video and then 3rd) generate a full presentation (video) which I intend to add some openings and effects to. Whats the best way of doing all this? Animator + Premiere + After Effects? Will my puppet recordings (expressions + voice) work in Premiere?
