We love ACP but we absolutely hate the ACP add-in in terms of security. Aside from it not installing correctly on Terminal Server/XenApp (rather a show stopper for us), it now appears to have trouble on Windows 7 for similar reasons.Running ACP on a brand new Windows 7 PC with full-administrator rights produces this error when you try and install the add-in from within a meeting:http://www.picpaste.com/acp1-GRRRvikJ.PNGOkay I thought, I'll simply install the add-in directly by downloading from this website:http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/updaters.htmlOn running setup.exe, it gives you a false sense of security in that the UAC pops up asking if you'd like to allow the program to make changes. It installs without an error and shows up in control panel.But - when you launch a meeting, it says "add-in not installed" and asks if you want to re-install. If you do, same disk write error as first time.As a quick workaround, I ran-up IE as administrator and started a meeting and it install

For some time now login to our Adobe Connect Pro server has been erratic from my main home machine—Vista 64-bit using Internet Explorer 8, 32-bit version. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. Meantime, I can login just fine from Firefox on the same machine and system—consistently.Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? Rebooting doesn't seem to fix the problem—at least not right away.Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello, I would like to be able to remove the document information that is automatcially generated when a page is created in PDF. For example, at the very bottom of every page of the PDF doc, it reads: file:///C|/jiu/a/cd/08vdec/08noer.htm (1 of 2) [10/18/2008 1:49:23 PM] Or, if I creadted the PDF from a web page, the url of the page would be in that location: http://abc.com/ansdtsa/ssfrgt/mdess/0lip/ (1 of 4) [10/1/2008 8:43:07 AM] I do not want to see any of that at all. Hi Guys,             any one know what the problem is here :  I had a meeting and it was problem free when out of no where it droped the connection to my room, my internet connection was stable and still could use my browser and other internet based apps.When I tried to close the page and log back in it gave me and all my members the same problem, it simply stayed stuck at the login page.I have attached a pic of as far as I and the 30 other guys could get.Anyone know what the problem is, and if this happens again how to fix it as fast as possible?Thanx

I installed the adobe pro free trial. Now I cant get it off. i keep getting pop ups that wont let me print. What is this garbage? Please help me get rid of it.

Hello!I'm trying the free version of Adobe Connect.  We are a small business and would need multi-person video call ability, which Adobe provides.  Before buying, I wanted to try the free version and did not like the echo I was getting when three people were on a video call.I tried reducing the echo by following the flash settings.  I also got a headset with a mic to see if that helps.  While it did, there was still an echo.Can somebody help?  Is the paid version better than the free one? How can we eliminate the echo so we can have up to 8 people on a video call, everybody getting a pretty good A/V quality?Thanks a lot for your help, it's much appreciated!!

Hello,does anyone know a tool where i can convert MOV or WMV files to a flv file that can be played in an Adobe Meeting ?I tried SUPER! but when i upload the file it gets converted and i only can see a white screen in the pod.Are just my settings wrong ? Does it have to be a certain resolution / audio format ?When i open it with media player classic it can be played.GreetsStephan

On opening Acrobat 8 professional on Mac OS 10.5.8 I get the error that it cannot be launched until I open another pro app like Photoshop. After doing this there is still the same error. Is there a fix?B

What are you best know methods for using video in an Adobe Connect Pro room? I usually publish them via Adobe Presenter and then upload the Zip package into the room. This seems to cut down the size quite a bit and makes it easy to play with the player bar options. I have also just uploaded a flash video file directly in a share pod and that works if it is a small file but it will often lag and buffer in an out all the way through. Any other better methods out there that folks are using or recommended from Adobe?

Hi, I have a couple issues I've noticed while monitoring courses run through Connect Pro.1) While monitoring courses I've noticed participants audio drops occasionally.  Drops currently happen after returning from Breakout sessions the current work around has been to have participants logout and return, once they've returned the audio returns.  What can we do to resolve this issue?2) I know users participants are elevated to Presenters when transferred to Breakout rooms, but once they've returned to the main room, they sometimes return as presenters giving them full access.    How can this be resolved..3) During courses we have an instructor of course but we also have a support person monitoring courses, is there a way when the instructor sent participants to breaout sessions the Support person can browse the rooms to insure all is running properly.   (I know the instructor can do this but is there a way another person can also have this access.Thanks

I just started a trial of Connect to see if it meets my needs as a basic LMS/distribution platform for webinars/elearning content.I'm supposed to be able to publish directly from Captivate to Connect. But it asks for the Connect server name and URL, and nowhere does that seem to be documented. Help!

I have the latest Adobe updater installed but when I try to update from 8.1.2 to 8.1.3 I get the following error message 'the patch failed because the application has been modified since it was originally instlaled (for example, plug-ins may be been disabled). Please go to the Adobe support website for more information regarding how to re-enable disabled components prior to installing the patch. Here is the situation:I have uploaded a few videos into Adobe Presenter and then published in a ZIP package. I then uploaded the Zip package into my Connect Pro room. If I am a host and play the video, I can't see or hear the video...BUT the video is playing through the room as other participants can see and hear it--I just can't. I can see that the play bar is moving but the video screen is black. I can see from a second computer that it is playing just fine. I can play the ZIP package directly from the upload content tab and click on the link and it plays just fine---just not through the room as a host. Has anyone else seen this or is there something blatantly obvious I am not doing right? To make it even more inconsistent, this does not happen all the time. I can go to other videos and they play just fine from my host perspective (i have two videos embedded on a presentation published via Presenter--they both play through the room fine but I can only see and hear one of them).

When converting a Word 2007 docx to PDF (Acrobat 8.1 Professional) the page nuumbering changes. In Word I have 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. In the PDF I get 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3. The page numbering is contained within the footer. I have deleted the footer and added the page numbering format again. I've tried creating the pdf two ways; opening Acrobat and clicking Create PDF, From File and also from within Word with the document open. Same result. Is there something about the format of the page number that Adobe doesn't like? I know I can manually change the page numbering once the PDF has been created, and I will have to do that as a last resort, but surely the conversion should be able to handle simple page numbering. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks

Hi,I'd be totally indebted to find out the following information regarding Adobe Connect Pro as we're evaluating it for hosting Captivate created content.Background: Adobe has an API and we are hoping that we can make  our  own custom form and then upload additional Trainee information (say they  have two cell numbers or their birthdate) into the hosted Adobe Connect  site for our training.  We want Trainees to be able to register themselves via a form that we host and have the push in via the Adobe Connect API.  It's too painful for us to have to make a userid for the trainees each time.Question 1) Is there a way for us to get access to the SQL Trainee database hosted with Adobe Connect?  If so how is that done?Question 2) Will the custom values (e.g. the phone and birthdate) that are made on our form and passed to Adobe Connect's LMS viewable by the Admin Reports interface?Question 3) Will the custom values (e.g. the phone and birthdate) that

Hi there,            I have a member in my sessions that has a problem with the audio... she has about a 10-15min lag on the sound. Her charts are real time and stream normally but her audio is very slow.The audio also sometimes doesnt come through properly for her and she only gets half of the words.She has done the adobe speed test to test her connection to the room, she has a 6Mgbit line with DSL speed.She hasnt always had this problem , it started 2 days ago and no matter what we try it will not stop the lag on the audio, not one of the other members has this problem and so I thought it might be her ISP, like maybe her badwidth was shaped or restricted in some way but she has contacted them as well but cant seem to see anything wrong.Any ideas of what the problem could be?Im all out of ideas on this.Thanx guys.

I'm trying to automate connection to content to minimize required user input.  The content is a survey and but I want to capture the user based on the url they entered with for reporting purposes.  Is it possible to embed username/password in the url itself to bypass that screen?Follow on question would be is that something that I can easily report on aligning the user name from the url with how they answered the survey.Thanks!Ed
