Hello Forum Friends,I've been having issues with ADE authorizing books on my Kobo ereader.I check out my books via Overdrive from my library.Then I transfer them over to my Kobo ereader, but when I try to open the book, I get a message "This book is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM).  Because you previously deauthorized your eReader you need to re-import the book using Adobe Digital Editions (ADE).  Please visit kobo.com for more information."Kobo website basically asks me to authorize the reader again, which I did (first by de-authorizing and then authorizing).  Nothing happens.Then I've tried to deauthorize my computer and authorizing it again.  Still, nothing happens.Has anyone had a similar issue?Is there a fix?I've asked Adobe support but they can't help since ADE is a free product and they're "not trained to help with this product".Please help.  This is really upsetting, since I'm no longer able to borrow books from my library (something

Had bought an eBook in early 2019 and it didn't have any problem opening it on Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). However, I recently had to format my PC and redownload Adobe Digital Editions.Even though I had authorised the second ADE download with the same Adobe ID with which I authorised the previous download (with which I opened the eBook successfully), I am still getting the same error (see image). I redownloaded the eBook from the retailer's website (I can redownload it only a five times, I think) but I am still having the same problem. I requested the retailer for a new download point i.e. a copy of the eBook with a fresh, blank license; but they refused as the book was no longer available on their website. They also unfortunately refused a refund because the purchase was made long back. My only option is to get the Adobe Digital Editions to work somehow. 😞

Hello,when I try to open on Mac an Adobe Digital Edition 4.5 book bought in 2013 : "Error obtaining the license. Communication problem with the license server:E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN:"what should I do ?

Newly installed ADE authomatically authorizes my old Adobe account I forgot the PW for and email is not existing any more. How can I delete this authorization in order to authorize my new account? Or: where those ADE take the old account information from?

When I try to authorize on Digital Editions or Bluefire reader with my Adobe ID I get the following error message:E_ADEPT_ACCOUNTINFO_CONNECTION_EXCEPTION HTTP://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/GetCredentialList http://decommissioned.adobe.com/decommissioned   I have changed my password and reinstalled the app on my iphone but the error remains.       

how do i get the password for adobe digital editions. Is it the same ID and password that I use in the Creative cloud?

morning all...I'm stuck in a weird issue... I'm not able to de-authorize an old ADE installation, I tried almost everything but nothing work (uninstall-reinstall, remove Adobe Digital Edition folder under Documents, erase everything from %appdata%, etc...) the only message I have as result "try again later" even if I have the correct Adobe ID login-pwd (in fact I'm writing here right now with my Adobe credentials. Any Idea?? Thank you Regards,Davide EDIT: I solved by myself ... 1. uninstall any ADE installation2. remove My Digital Edition folder under Documents3. clean all caches (I used Ccleaner)4. open the windows regsitry (regedit) and remove ALL occurences of the mail address you registred as Adobe ID, of course remove only if related to ADE or something similar5. reinstall ADE & sign-in with your regular Adobe ID (this time you won't find pre-compiled)6. suxxx ADE... the more complicated cryptic bugs-fulled ever made piece of software...

Hello,  I try to launch some eBooks from the online library on my Kobo Libra H20. I've installed Adobe Digital Editions and made an account to authorize my computer (MacBook Air). I've downloaded some eBooks, they appair in ADE. However, as soon as I pair my eReader, ADE crashes and automatically shut down.  On my other computer (Lenovo), ADE crashes as soon as I drag the eBook to my eReader. Most of the time, the eBook is on my eReader, however ADE doesn't respond on anything anymore so I have to do a forced shut down...  So both computers crash, however not at the same time. Can anybody help me with this?  Thank you in advance.

Bonjour,Je suis incapable de supprimer des livres qui ont été retournés à la bibliothèque.Je supprime les livres, mais à l'ouverture de ADE 4.5.11, les livres reviennent en grisé - incapable de les ouvrir et la fonction "rendre un élément emprunté" est aussi grisé.ADE fonctionne sur mon MAC Catalina 10.15.5 (mais j'avais le même problème avec la version Mojave)J'ai supprimé le dossier "Digital Éditions".J'ai désinstallé ADE, supprimé le dossier Digital Édition et réinstallé ADE.Aucune de ces solutions ne fonctionne - quelqu'un peut m'aider? 

Hi allInstalled digital reader on windows 10.worked fine Autherised noproblem and opened dowloaded book.Then the text disappered.progam opens and pages show  but no text.Also incredably slow to scroll or turn pages.Anyone any ideas?BTW  searched this siteThanks in advance.Mike

Unfortunately, when I try to open the .acsm-file in ADE I receive the following message:E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12What I've already tried:I deleted KEY under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept\Device.Afterwards, I tried to erase my authorization:ADE --> Help --> Erase Authorization --> password, confirm, confirm eingegebenI then get the following message: "Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time."I waited 24 h hours between two attempt of erasing my auorization and I still ge this message, so I don't thing time is an issue here.I already downloaded the .acsm-file several times but no change.Unfortunetaly, I don't have another ebook to test whether I have this problem with different .acms-files. System: Windows 10ADE-Version: 4.5.10. ... I hope you can help me!Best wishes,KD

First, I authorized my first Laptop (#1) I did not select "eBook Vendor = BLANK!" , then, I purchased 3 NO. eBooks through my laptop (#1) and open and using them. After that, I authorized my other laptop (#2) I selected "eBook Vendor = Adobe ID" and purchased a new eBook through my laptop (#2). Then, I faced an issue that I cannot open the 3 No. eBooks in my laptop (#2), ERROR appeared "e_lic_already_fulfilled_by_another_user". On the other hand, I cannot open the new eBook in my laptop (#1), ERROR appeared "e_lic_already_fulfilled_by_another_user". Thus, I decided to Erase Authorization from Laptop (#1) then, re-Authorizing it by select eBook vendor same as laptop (#2) "eBook Vendor = Adobe ID". Now, I can only open the new eBook in both laptops, but I cannot open the old 3 No. eBooks which I was opening before without selecting eBook Vendor in laptop (#1), ERROR appeared "e_lic_already_fulfilled_by_another_user" . I want my both laptops to be authorized

Hi, I'm usinfg a Macbook and have ADE 4.5 installed. Somehow it continues to show multiple versions of the ebook that I have downloaded from the library. I have tried to delete all files in the CloudSync folder but somehow they keep re-appearing. As a result my Kobo Glo ereader tells me the ebook is unauthorised. Any idea how I can solve this?

When I try to download books now, I will get the acsm file downloaded as before, but when I try to open it in ADE, ADE will freeze and I will get a message that it is not responding.  I have checked to make sure it is not a firewall problem, (and I can download without problems), and I have made sure that the device is authorized etc...  Is anyone else having this problem, and if so can it be fixed?Thanks a lot

Hi there  Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 downloaded successfully. The document I wish to access is showing in the "bookshelves". But, when I launch the document, I am prompted with the "Authorization needed" dialogue box.  Silly me, I had downloaded version 4.5 when I had originally purchased the PDF doc and more silly still had opted to authorize without an ID, so ADE  enabled reading of the book only on mycomputer, once. Version 4.5 was unusable, constantly crashing and being "unresponsive".  Hence sought advice online from various forums to learn that the earlier version 3 was more relaible, stable and usable.  Having contacted Adobe they are saying that they do not support version 3!  So now when prompted for "Adobe ID" and "Password" there seems to be no way of obtaining these details as the error message returned is "Incorrect login ID or password for the selected eBook vendor. Please try again" I have an account regist

Has anyone figured out how to get Digital Editions to operate correctly on an iPad? I cannot get it to turn a page in the portrait mode. I kind of works in the landscape mode but it is very clunky.

I have downloaded adobe digital editions 4.0 and have authorized my device and my computer with my adobe id.  When I download a book from my local library into adobe digital editions (ADE), I can read the book within ADE, but when I grab the book title and move it over to my Ereader icon (Kobo Aura H2O) it looks like it has been downloaded into the Ereader, but when the reader is disconnected and checked, the downloaded book does not open, and it gives the following  quote, "oops! This document couldn't be opened...This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management(DRM) and is not currently authorised for use with your Adobe ID.  Please sign-in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again". Both the computer and the reader have been authorized with my Adobe ID.  Can anyone help? I have looked at various forums and this appears to be a common problem, but I have not seen a solution yet.Thanks

An epub book purchased from Google Play Books, "The world according to physics" acsm file fails. The book doesn't appear in the ADE "last read column" and doesn't automatically present in "read" mode at the end of the (failed) download. Any attempt to access it causes ADE to "hang" or simply close. Other acsm files from Play Books and other sources are OK (screenshot inserted). The Google support team has advised "We have investigated and has shown error was already caused by the Adobe Digital Editions and would very much suggest to have them check on your setup to determine the best resolution for this case." Who manages and generates the acsm file - the publisher, ADE or Play books?View question

Hello, I'm not able anymore to open my ebooks via ID Adobe. It says that the ebook contains an error, both with a new ebook I bought as with an ebook I borrowed from the library. So I'm wondering if there is a problem with ID Adobe itself. I already reinstalled it but it doesn't help. Is it possible that it has something to do with the fact I installed ID Adobe for the first time on another computer, connecting it with my ereader?
