Digital Editions

Yesterday I installed ADE 4.5 in order to read a book, no problem then. Today I am trying to open the ADE to continue reading and can't. Uninstalled and reinstalled ADE without rebooting the PC, nothing. ANy ideas, what's going on?

Bonjour, J'ai acheté des livres chez Belgique Loisirs et n'arrive pas à les lire sur mon pc ni les transféré sur ma Kobo. J'ai récemment changé d'ordinateur et depuis cela ne fonctionne plus.J'ai installé ADE sur le nouvel ordinateur, ai supprimé les autorisations sur le précédent et autorisé le nouveau mais quand j'essaie de transférer un livre vers ma liseuse ou le lire sur mon PC, j'ai les messages suivants :- ancien PC : téléchargement impossible - Erreur lors de l'obtention de la licence. Problème de communication avec le serveur de licences : E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER- Nouveau PC : Le compte fournisseur spécifié n'est pas associé à l'élement que vous essayez d'ouvrir. Veuillez réessayer. Quelqu'un peut m'aider ? J'ai contacté Belgique Loisirs et la seule réponse que j'ai reçue est "Suite à votre mail, je vous informe que ce message d’erreur est un souci au niveau des identifiants." puis plus rien, même après avoir insisté pour qu'ils m'aiden

Dear All,I hope to get some help from you all. Recently I installed Adobe Digital on my laptop and downloaded my ebooks purchahed from Society of Petroleum Engineers. It was all fine. I could read them. I used my Adobe id for authorization and therefore I am supposed to be able to read the e-books  on six different computers. I could install on my another laptop and also it worked fine. This was a few days ago. But today I see that I can not read open Adobe Digital Edition on my first main computer any more. On the second one it is still working. It does not help me. I need to read them on my main laptop with large double monitors. I reinstalled the program a number of times, but no progress. Please advice. Regards, Mohammed Asadullah

Error getting Licence. License Server Communication Problem E_STREAM_ERROR: Trying to download an e book from my local library. Downloaded a new Adobe Digital Edition v 4.5.11.187212. I didnt authorise it. when I got this error, I through perhaps I needed to authorise the software so signed up for a new Adobe account. Once authorised, I tried downloading the book again - same error. I also tried to download a different book - in case that was the problem. I see there are a few Error getting license issues on this forum - but couldnt find any with the E_STREAM_ERROR:The one I did find suggested that I try downloading from a different browser - I used Chrome and IE and got the same error.Any advice appreciated!Thanks

Hi, I have an android and I tried to authorize my phone on the digital editions app. I went to setting to authorize my phone and it will not allow me to scroll down and authorize. I have tried deleting the app,re uploading it everything possible. Please help if there is something else to do. Thank you

Je ne savais pas que l'autorisation était liée au laptop et je n'y plus accès.Quand j'essaie d'autoriser Digital Editions pour mon nouveau laptop, j'obtiens l'erreur "Vous pouvez accorder une autorisation à cet ordinateur à condition de ne pas utiliser un ID Adobe déjà alloué à un autre ordinateur ou périphérique mobile. Veuillez réessayer."Qu'est-ce que je peux faire ? J'ai loué des livres et je veux les transférer sur ma Kobo.

I tried opening the PDF file in ADE 4.5 but it gave an error opening file. So I downgraded to 3.0 and it gives me an error Activation Server Error Code: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL. This is on Windows 7. I originally ran this on my smart phone and I am able to view this file on my phone. When I view the item info against the book listed in the library, it shows under Permissions that "The document is licensed for a different user account" I do not have have another account and the fact that I can view the file using the same account on my smartphone indicates that there is some problem that I cannot resolve at my end.

I have not had issues with ADE prior to ADE 4.0.  I have Yosemite on my IMac and I don't on my laptop and the problem with ADE is the same.  Any suggestions?

When I am opening one of my pdfs I get an error:"Unable to open [document name] Errors were encountered in this itemfile:///[path to the document].epub"From what I've seen from the forums it's a pretty popular error and there is absolutely no functioning and proper solution to that. Has anything changed? Can anyone provide a good solution to the problem? I can open two of my pdfs, but other two get that error. On the other side I can open all of my pdfs just fine on the other computer, where I am using the same version of Digital Editions. So what is wrong?

I have Adobe Digital Editions on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. For a long time I used it with no trouble. Now every time I try to read something, I'm told that I have to authorize the device. I've given it my Adobe username and password over and over and over again (checking to make sure they're the right ones); it doesn't accept them. I tried uninstalling and re-installing ADE; no luck. I'm at my wits' end. Help!

I loaded in ADE4.5.11 a epub book I bought in 2016 and I am getting "The vendor account you entered is not associated with the item you are trying to open. Try again" Do not recall any other ID than the one I am using/   Can you help? alfonso.g.tarditi@gmail.com

Hello,i have downloaded an ebook from my library on my iPhone. Logged into Adobe digital editions, I see the downloaded file on my phone but the book isn't appearing in the reader!

The app is mostly used by big groups of students from kaplan and on the ipad app it does not allow note taking using apple pencil. The highlight on the app is Dark green . not option to change either in the pc app it is yellow. i really hope the developers can improve upon this app to make it more user friendly. especially for students when zoomed in the normal highlight function also does not work either. in a smooth device such as the apple ipad this particular app dissappoints and certainly requires more work . i hope the sync abilty to allow the highlight to be on all linked accounts would also be brought in too.  For an app from adobe i sincerely hope better and sooner updates to be sent out.

Hi there Apologies, would have normally contacted the company but they have totally shut down due to the virus.I run a couple of school libraries and we will be using some ebooks from DawsonEra for our online courses. Problem is that I cannot get a DawsonEra eBook to load completely in ADE on a  mac - I get the 'downloading' pop-up, then it gets to the end, the 'Cancel' button is greyed out but nothing happens. We use ADE for other eBook suppliers and do not have any issue - any ideas? I am pretty sure it has something to so with the file but not 100% sure. Regards Lisa

Hello,I want to delete old books in digital edition version 4.5.9.184862 finally., but the keep showing up.I delete inactiv books, and the are gone for the the momentarly session. I close DE. But as soon as i download a new book oder just open DE they show up again.thanks for helping me.chris

    Adobe Digital Editions (4.0.2) und tolino vision 2 haben die gleiche ID. trotzdem erscheint, wenn man am Computer(imac, os 10.10.2) ein entliehenes Buch öffnen will diese meldung: E_ACT_NOT_READY . die buchdatei läßt sich nur auf dem e-book reader öffnen. wie kann man das ändern?

I have a big problem with my e books .as i updated my Mac book with the new IOS version,i noticed that all the books was gone and the Adobe Digital Edition was empty.i deleted the program as well the Documents which i had in Mac and i re installed again every thing.but i can not still download the e books in Adobe Digital edition with my Adobe ID.i receive a failure about licenses problem!what should i do? Fehler beim Abrufen der Lizenz. Good day to all,is there a way to return a borrowed book from my android device (phone)?I can not seem to find a way to do so. By keeping pressed on the book only gives me 2 options: 1) deleting, 2) making it a favourite.Thank you for your time. 

When I tried to authorize my Kobo ereader (which I have used many times before) from my desktop computer (Windows), I got the error message E ACT TOO MANY AUTHORIZATIONS. (I have ADE on two computers and two Kobos, within the limit.) The solution, according to an Adobe web page describing exactly this problem, is to ask Adobe to reset my authorizations. I asked yesterday; today they informed me that my account is "good to go" and I must "reauthorize the account." I erased authorization and then authorized. Same outcome. Erased, then closed and opened ADE, and authorized. No good. Uninstalled and reinstalled ADE 4.511 twice. Got a new message: E STREAM ERROR. Uninstalled and reinstalled again, and now I am back to TOO MANY AUTHORIZATIONS. What is the solution?

Hello, I just downloaded adobe digital edition and I haven't even made single transfer. But I still get an error. Please Help. 

MY ADE is working fine. I have one E-ereader KOBO, is also also working fine, is autorised through ADE. Now if i try to authorize my new second KOBO E-reader , i get the following messageE-ADEPT_User_UNKNOW. The effect is that  I cannot read the english books i have in ADE on this second reader because of the DRM protection .I cab read them on my first reader and in ADE of course! Helpdesk ADOBE gave my all kind of suggetions , like re-autorise ADE. but that didn't work.

Have installed adobe digital editions and have been reading my e book with no problems but this morning l tried to click icon open and it won’t have tried re installing without success lm not very tech savvy and have no idea what to do now

During this COVID-19 crisis, I finally upgraded my desktop machine to Windows 10 (1903 Build 18362.720).  I downloaded the latest Adobe Digital Editions to read some ePUB books from my local library which like many uses an Overdrive server to deliver .ascm files for the book.  After 'browing' several ePUB books and downloading the associated .ascm files I tried to run the files to have ADE 'fulfill' the request.  Every single book threw the E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TOO_SHORT error. I had never seen this error before in my several years of  'borrowing' ePUB books from my local library so I went back to my old laptop which is still running Win 7 SP2.  Did a 'return' on the books I had 'borrowed' and rechecked them out with new .ascm file downloaded to the laptop.  I then updated the laptop to the same version of ADE (4.5.11) and ran those same .ascm book files.  All the books were 'Fulfilled' successfully by ADE and appeared in my default library view in ADE.Th
