Digital Editions

Hi- I borrow ebooks from my university for my grad school work, and they have a seven-day rental period before they need renewal.  Lately ADE has been expiring my rentals in my library after one day, which casuses me to renew my book and which also makes me lose all of my highlights and notes which I had made.  How can I correct this problem?  I need to be able to keep my books for the full 7-day period and have all of my notes for the week.  Please help! Hi, I have issue using the digital editions app. I used digital editions without problem on laptop, I am able to open the borrowed ebooks from local library and read them.  However, I downloaded the android app on my phone 4 days ago (15 Oct 2019) and was unable to open any .acsm ebook. I download an ebook (.acsm) on phone and chose to open with digital editions app but nothing happens. No ebook is loaded/opened. After authorising my adobe ID to app, the ebooks on my laptop did not appear on my android app too.  I have tried to deauthorise and authorise my adobe ID again. I have also tried uninstall and installing the app again. I have also switched off and restart my phone several times. There is still no synching between both devices even though they are linked to my adobe ID.  Kindly advise solution. Thank you.

The issue is that I have found is a vulnerability within Adobe Digitial Editions and needing to update the software. The vulnerable version that needs updating is 4.5.10.0. The updated version is given on your site as 4.5.10.186048. Upon updating the software, it is still showing as vulnerable. The reason being is that Adobe hasn’t updated the name of the software versioning, it remains 4.5.10.0. We aren’t able to confirm it is updated without manually going into the software and verifying the version. Naturally this causes issues because we then aren’t able to fully monitor the vulnerability. I have already put in a ticket with the company we use to scan our assets and they have confirmed that this is something on Adobe’s side that would need to be fixed.

I had books registered , change computer and a few months later i reisntal but cannot find my bookcan you help? Do i neee the actual file?

Adobe Digital Editions on my phone won't sync with it on my pc. Why and what's the solution? And since Adobe apparently doesn't use their chat support with digital editions... I'll ask the question here. Though from the looks of things there will be no answer to this problem.

My adobe digital editions quit working so I deleted the program and reinstalled.  It is installed on my laptop but will not open. 

I have a couple of ACSM files that are on my local drive (due to a browser problem).  When I double-click on one, it launches Digital Editions, but it doesn't download the epub - nothing happens at all.  I can make the download happen by doing File -> Open inside Digital Editions. In addition, it was possible in earlier versions to download from the command-line by running: digitaleditions.exe URLLink.12345.acsm but that no longer works. I'm running DE 4.5.10.186048 on Windows 7 Any suggestions?? Thanks! Dan

ho dovuto reinstallare window10 sul mio pc a causa di un guasto. Ho quindi installato Adobe digital ed. e abilitato il computer ma non riesco ad aprire i miei ebook poichè il mio ID non è accessibile. Ho fatto un nuovo ID ma non mi consente l'apertura dei libri. Non ho trovato alcun modo di avere assistenza diretta per risolvere il problema degli ID. Mi pare che Adobe non offra un servizio di assiatenza diretta.

I'm having problems turning pages in the digital editions. The arrow keys barely works with changing the page, I can spam the button 20 times and MAYBE the page will turn. Doesn't matter if it is up or down key. Backspace seem to be working fine but that is only turning a page forward, I can't find a way to go back one page. I just bought an expensive book for my university course and now I can barely read it because of this petty problem. Is there anything I can do? I downloaded it today so I'm using the latest version and I'm on a Windows computer.

I am on Ipados 13.3, on wireless iPad Pro. I downloaded the ADigital Editions from the App Store. It installed no worries.  I tried to authorize the app however, it says digital editions could not connect to the server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet. Things I have done to try and make it work.1) reinstall the app2) reset all settings.3) cleared cashe in safari.4) deleted, rebooted and reinstalled the app.5) contacted chat support twice. And both times got recommended here.6) read the forums for my same issue. all, except 6, come up with the same error message.

Hi everyone, I have the same problem as I have seen others post - with no solution yet added. Perhaps someone has figured out since 🙂When I try to Add to Library I get the message: Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY.I have trouble shooted this and found that the manual says de-authorize computer to re-authorize. However, the system will not allow me to. It just says Unable to Erase Authorization and to try again later. But it never works. And so I am uanble to read the books.  Has anybody found a solutaion? Thank you! Kindly,Stina

Hi, I got an Adobe ID, installed ADE 4.5 on my computer, authorizing both my computer and my ereader Kobo Aura 2 edition. When I download a DRM protected ebook from a library (MLOL) using the dame Adobe ID and I open it with ADE 4.5, transfering the ebook to my Kobo, Kobo says: "your eReader is not authorized to open this book" (see attached image). I already tried to uninstall ADE 4.5, deleting "My Digitale Editions" folder and to install again, but the problem persists. This problem occured after I removed the authorization from my computer and my Kobo using another Adobe ID. Any solution? Hi Team. We are experiencing a display issue in adobe digital version 4.5.10 but the same text (highlighted text) is good in lower version. can you please describe the reason behind this issue.  Thanks,Bala V

I have bought a book that I cannot open it in Adobe DIgital Editions. It says there is an error with my account, or with my authorization. The problem occured three years ago, but I then gave up because I didn't have time for it. Now I would really need the book again, and after all, I have paid for it.

I bought books on the Rakuten Kobo website and the books are shown on the Kobo Desktop. But I can't download them onto my Sony eReader. I was told to download Adobe Digital Editions. How can I get the books from the Kobo Desktoip into the ADE program and then onto the reader?It also seems like I can't authorize my eReader on ADE. ADE doesn't recognize it when plugged in.I appreciate any help ad neither the Kobo help center nor the Adobe Help Centre were able to assist.

I am just starting to experiment with ADE, 4.5,  I have a pdf that was read in another app, with highlights and bookmarks.  The other app (foxit reader) will place the list of highlights in a sidebar, also allowing me to click on them as bookmarks.  ADE does this with highlights made in ADE,  but in preexisting, it shows the highlights, since they are now part of the pdf, but can't seem to 'harvest' them to list in the sidebar, and use as bookmarks.  Is there a way for me to make this happen?

Thought I had lost all my ebooks when I opened Adobe Digital Editions to find a blank library.  For future reference for anyone else who experiences the same, follow this advice:Next to 'Library' click on the downwards pointing arrow.In the drop down menu click on 'Add item to library' which will open up your 'Documents' folder.Open the folder called 'My Digital Editions'Select the ebooks you want to restore to your Digital Editions library and click 'open' which will put the ebook(s) back into your library.

There was an apple update and now my old version of ADE will not work.  I have updated the ADE software but it will not recognize my KOBO Glo ereader.  This was the problem with version 3.0 so KOBO said to download an older version of ADE.  NOW I AM UNABLE to get ADE to recognize my KOBO glo reader.  HELP!!!  I am not able to download my books from the library.  Can anyone help me out?   [Moving from generic Start/Help forum to the specific Program forum...
