Digital Editions

"Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please check your internet connection."  This is the message I get, yet my internet connection is good.  Help!

I have a number of ebooks locked with ADE DRM.  When I purchased them I had a different email address. I now want to open them again (have them downloaded to my PC) but I no longer have the old ADE account password, nor do I have the original email address associated with that account.  Gone around in circles with Adobe chat trying to get them to send password reset to a different email address to that on the account. Tried using Adobe Account Access (for mobile) but that too needs original account password when setting up.Any suggestions as to how to get into the "old" account when I cannot access the password reset emails sent via the Adobe process ???

I was wondering if I highlight an e-book that I borrowed from the library, returned the e-book, and then borrowed it again, if my highlights would still be available. 

Hi everyone, I recently migrated to a new Macbook and ever since I have been unable to use Adobe Digital Editions. I am simply unable to authorize it. I get an error when I try it on the software. And when I look for the "activation.dot" file in my Application Support folder, I get nothing. There is no Digital Editions folder, there are no hidden files. Nothing. And now I'm stuck. Has anyone managed to find a solution for it? Thank you very much!

Hello, I am trying to load my KOBO ereader with EPUB books from Overdrive and I receive an activation error. I checked with overdrive and they told me to reset my Adobe ID because I have too many activations (on devices and computers). How can we solve this so that I can download my library books to my KOBO?Thank you

The most recent version of Adobe Digital Editions is 4.5.11 from Dec 2019.I am finding that it will not open recent .epub files from an online publisher.The same files open fine in other applications like calibre. Have there been recent updates in the epub format that ADE cannot handle?

My DSM-5 is no longer in my Adobe Digital Editions library.I believe I paid for a permanent copy and not a renewable lease/rental.Should I contact the American Psychiatric Association or is something up with Adobe Digital Editions?

Hi,I've made many annotations and I've highlighted a lot of paragraphs in my ebooks using ADE2.Now I need to format my PC and reinstall Windows.How can I export or backup my highlights and annotations so that I can keep them?I only want to keep that information with me. How can I do it?Thanks.

I resurrected an older Notebook which had not been used since spring 2019.I was amazed that ADE - newest version, which I had not loaded down - showed books aquired between 2017 and today! Those I bought can be downloaded, for the other the usual time-up notice pops up.The same happend on my Iphone 8 which I bought just two months ago.The Computer on which I normally use ADE was shut off - and I am sure I had deletet all borrowed bools How come?And how and where can I get rid of the old files? 

Hello!  I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else - there should be a simple solution.  I have been able to download books for years.  Today the library basically pushed me to the upgrade and now it won't open and I can't download books. I hit on the link to download 3.0 and it takes me back and forth, back and forth, to no link for 3.0.  Can you please fix this, or send me a link?  This is quite frustrating.  I have read so many forums and there doesn't seem to be a current solution. 

How can I download pdf file books and ebooks in Adobe digital edition app ?  

I have not got any information about highlighted error then how can I correct them?

I need to either reset my authorized devices so I can add a new one or to see a list of authorized mobile devices so I can delete ones I no longer have. This seems to be a common problem. Does anybody have an answer? Chat directed me here. I can't seem to find the solution. 

Today I tried to add two new Epub books to my Kobo that I had borrowed from the Public Library. When I tried to open them it said I wasn't authorized. I found steps on here to erase authorization and reauthorize but it didn't work. I also tried deleting the downloads and redownloading as well as returning the ebooks to the library and reborrowing. nothing. Now I have a new problem. Now it keeps addding a new copy of the book every time I try to add it. I have been "removing" the books before adding a new one and even removing them from my Mac finder and cloud sync but every time i try to reload it it just adds more copies (see below). Please help me! I have read 9/12 books in this series and I MUST find out what happens.

I cannot authorized digital edition with my ID adobe. It says that another device is already aouthorized and I cannot connevt my computer while the other device is authorized. I do not know about which device they are talking... please help. How can I connect mz ID adobe to Digital Edition and FINALLY download and read a book on computer or smartphone?Thank zou in advance.

Hello! I am having trouble with a just-purchased ebook. I have the .acsm file, and Adobe Digital Editions is authorized on my computer. When I try to open the ebook, I get the following error message from ADE: "Unable to Download. Error getting license. License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN:" I am using ADE version 4.5.11.187606, on an iMac running macOS Monterey, v. 12.3.1. Any help would be appreciated! The book seller was unable to help.

I'm trying to activate my ADE account on my new phone but it says that there are too many devices connected. I removed al active sessions I don't use anymore but it didn't work for me. The support cannot help me with this and pushed me to write a post here.

Ok, I'm well aware that there are already a number of posts referring to this exact same issue, and that there is an existing workaround, but I'm creating this new post anyway. Consider this more of a bug report directed at Adobe than a post asking for a workaround. Point is, I want the bug to get fixed for good, not to be pointed to a workaround that just allows the  In short, when trying to authorize ADE 4.5.11.187606 on my Mac using my Adobe ID and password, I keep getting an error: E_AUTH_INVALID_KEY_DATA.The underlying cause of the issue seems to be very long, auto-generated passwords from password managers – see this post here. I'm not 100% sure that the linked issue from 2016 is the exact same one I'm running into, but replies as recent as January 2022 indicate that password length appears to be the issue. At a certain point the app didn't respond anymore. I reinstalled it many times but when I try to open it, it remains as an icon on the taskbar and I can't even see the app's window opened. I used it on two computers windows 10 and now it does that in both of them.Thank you all
