Dreamweaver

I am new to Dreamweaver and Coding. How can I learn web site creation easily? I feel like a daunting task with Dreamweaver with codes etc. Any help is appreciated.    

I have just come back to DW after several years and have found a lot of changes! One that I do not understand is that the standard toolbar floats and seems to be undockable. Having done a quick search, I came across a sugestion that all that was necessary was to drag the toolbar by the dark area on its edge to below the menu tabs and a blue docking line would appear. It didn't, so, not too sensibly, I tore off the common toolbar and now can't get that to dock either. I'm assuming that this is not a feature! Advice would be most welcome.

I am NOT a web designer, but somehow, with the help of the local library and templates I managed to create a website back in 2008. I updated DW till 2015 & was very happy with it, but now it is sluggish and I am ready to update. I'm an old fart with a pitiful memory. So I downloaded the 2020 DW version and I stared at a blank screen, went to site manager and I had a brain freeze. I just don't remember. I guess I thought when I updated my old 2015 version the new version would be automatically populated. My site has over 400 pages so I can't afford to screw it up. Is there a way to get it from the cloud or download from server and populate the 2020 version? If not, can you share a link for old dummies?

I am taking a web design class and my teacher doesn’t respond very well. Is there anyone that can help me on dreamweaver application regarding CSL an HTML content. I can't get the images to show up on the live view.

Hello, I have been given 4 stories tonight and what I can and cannot use here.  I cannot seem to get across to Adobe support that I MUST either use and IOS made application OR an Adobe web based application.  My office is totally mobile and has been now for 5 years.   First, Adobe sales told me that I could use the IOS app called Spark.  Which I see is a great app for simply design, which is what I am after, BUT I could not find anywhere to use my own privately owned/purchased domain.   I want to be able to publish my website quite simply using whatever Adobe application or process that I should use.  Because Dreamweaver is an intermediate/advanced web design application, I figure surely you all know what an IOS/iPad user like myself should be using.   Please help...   Thanks,    Erik

I have very limited skills in Dreamweaver, but have been able to make minor edits to our web pages.  I recently tried to replace a flash animation with just a static image.  The web page previews fine in Dreamweaver and on the local machine directly in Edge and Chrome.  When I uploaded the changes, I only see a small icon in the top left corner of the image area, but the image does not appear.Any suggestions?

I get these icons instead of a panel with more information. How do I change that?

Hi everyone,  I have a simple piece of code but the cosing script tage on line 20 is causing an issue. As you can see in the image i have attached i am adding a string to the pageContent variable. inside the string i have a script tag containing an alert. the opening tag works perfectly the way it should but the closing script tag has decided to connect to the open script tag on line 6. This shouldnt happen as the closing script tag is inside the string and should not perform as a tag. is there a setting i need to change to fix this or is there a problem with the software ?  

I their! First i'm very sory for my bad english is not my first language.So I try to compress scss file on save with Dreamwaver with Compass enabled on my Mac with OSX Big Sur. I won't work. If i uncheck Compass it work, but i really really wony Compass ;-)... I have got this error message "Ignoring ffi-1.11.3 because it's extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine ffi --version 1.11.3". I had a hard time to find how to do that but i manage to find how, so i did, but... didn't work... i surch google, find some others way to the same thing but, I'm realy not sure i did the good things (cause it's very complicated and like I said english is not my firs language) please!! help!! 🙂Thank you so mush

Hi guys i have a question... today i was working on a page, i had to make a scrolldiv for some text. i was changing the width and the height for that one page, something i have done many times, everything seemed to work well. But then suddenly things got all mixed up on alll my other pages. The positions of many divs got put into different places, many (not all) the divs have been put into different places. i cant make any sense out of it...i know that if we change the settings of a spry divtag it can change in another pages as well if its the same div. but how can 7 or 8 divs just be relocated when they are not the same divtag that i was editing??? why the positioning? i can remember deleting the positioning of the div i was editing in css i think in the positioning tab in the top field it said 1050 or something and i deleted that, other then that i only changed the width and height. any ideas anyone?? i already tried to change the positioning of the div i was editing back to 1050 but

I have had adobe products for years and this past month has been such a headache. I pay for the membership to have the product actually work!! the live view doesn't update when the code changes, the preview can't load for some odd reason. I'm at a point that I'm going to cancel everything with adobe and move on with a program that WILL work!!!!!

I'm using Dreamweaver 2018.  I created a page with a table inserted, but for some reason the table itself is visable on the live webpage.  Any ideas about why that is or how to make the table invisible on the webpage?

I have deleted or reinstalled dreamweaver several times along with the sites Ftp setups,  the server settings for a site is not being saved and each time I launch DW I have to enter the FTP user aname and password.  Anyone have any idea on how to fix this 

Hello, I know this is an older product but I much prefer it over the new cc version. Heres my issue I have an english install version. It installs fine on my HP windows 8.1 computer running in win 7 compatibility mode Works awesome. I use the same install on my dell laptop running windows 8.1 install in win 7 compatibility and the install process is all english.I open the program and its showing the splash in english but when opened the tool bar is all in spainish. Some of the drop downs are spainish but once an otion is opened like preferences its all english. Panels are in both english and spainish on the side panels. Some words are english some are spainish. Any idea how this is possble ? Have had both laptops since new neve used spainish languange on either for anything.Its and english install as I have used it on many fresh computers as I upgraded but this one computer installs it weird so I dont know if its windows doing this or the program some how installing the mixed lang

Hi!I am using Adobe Dreamweaver for a class I am taking in college and whenever I try to use the Window>Extract function to extract a file I need in order to create a website and all it'll tell me is "You do not have access to this service. Contact your IT Administrator to gain access." Can anybody help me and give me advice as to what to do to solve this problem?Thanks!

Hi, I've just started out with Dreamweaver 21.1 on the latest update of Windows 10 x64, but I've been having an issue with getting live view to work. I've repeatedly tried the Ctrl+Alt+H shortcut but nothing is happening. I'm unable to select bootstrap elements in the live view window or see the property inspector at all. I needed to do a fresh install using the Adobe cleaner tool for a different problem and the issue was present then as well so I don't think it's an installation issue. I'm very new to this so it's probably something super obvious, but I just can't figure it. Thanks for any help.

I'd like to re-arrange the sites that are in my "Manage Sites" pane which seems to affect the "sites" drop down "files" window.  But I can't see a way to do this- what amI missing? THX

Afternoon,I have a simpel lightbox that I can't get to work. It's seems like js might be getting blocked? I uninstalled my Dreamweaver's previous version.  We tried to install again but a warning appears telling us it is not compatible so how can I get my previous version?  In the Creative Cloud desktop app, no previous version appears.  So where can I find the previous version download links?   [Edited by moderator for clarity and better recognition by language translators.]    

When I use the command "Edit > Code > Apply Source Formatting"*  in a HTML or CSS file it has no effect. Is there a way to use this command? Thanks.

Just uploaded Dreamweaver 2021. The image properties no longer includes menu for creating image borders.  Where is it? If it's gone, how do you create a border around an image OR at least move text away form image?Kate T
