Dreamweaver

I have recently purchased a Mac Pro 2013 ("trashcan") and installed Catalina.  Since I can no longer use my Dreamweaver CS4 on the new machine I am going to purchase the Creative Cloud.  When I do that, what will I need to transfer from my old machine to preserve the projects (sites) I have created (in addition to the root folder/files)?  I'm especially concerned about the settings for the sites as I would like to avoid errors in re-entering all of those manually.

I have IE and MSEdge but I have Chome, Oprea and Firefox installed on my system can't find them with the others. Just IE and MS Edge show.

I've been using Dreamweaver for probably 20 years now and since about 2015 I've notice a steep decline in performance and it seems like it only get's worse with each new release. Even though I have it set to not auto update without my permission it still auto updates anyways, so thanks for that. 2021 Installed itself the other day and I'm about at my wits end with it. Iv'e tried getting help from support, from forums, from following possible solutions from other users, to reinstalling my OS, upgrading my computer, even trying on other computers, the performance is just trash and Adobe should be ashamed, but I guess you can't expect more from a souless global mega corporation. - Performance - TERRIBLE, basic functions such as scrolling, selecting, typing and just about everything is unreasonably slow. I'm working ONLY in code view, have EVERYTHING disabled so no linting, no code complete, no validation running, nothing, and still I have very slow and sluggish response times. S

After making some edits to my web page, I have an unbalanced InstanceEndEditable tag. I can't delete it. How can I remove it? When I update my template file, DW is tagging it as an error and won't update the page.

I have been using Dreamweaver for many years now – in fact, I was at the program’s launch many moons ago. I use it because, apart from a rare edit in code (I am not what you would call a coder), most work on my quite basic websites can be done without opening code windows.Until recently, I used CS5 because it worked for me. But my Mac won’t run CS5 anymore, so I have invested in Creative Cloud, which includes Dreamweaver 2020.I used APdivs to construct pages and then finished the page by bundling them all in a Table – there was a command from a pull-down menu that would do it.  Now, I need to edit pages without starting from scratch – so I once again need to be able to create a Table containing all my APdivs. Can this still be achieved, roughly in the way I used to?Be gentle please – I am a sensitive soul.

Back in August I called TS and had to insist give me an answer. He finally gave me the solution. My mistake I didn’t document the solution. Now I updated to V21 and V20 is gone and I need to redo the fix and can’t remember the solution. I’ve talked to 3 different TS people. The 1st I had to insist there was a solution because it was solved back in August. He sent me to C:\Users\mycomputer\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2021\en_US\Configuration. Couldn’t find what I wanted. The 2nd gave me an article that solved what she though I asked. The next said he couldn’t help because Adobe didn’t give them an answer in their data base. The problem.If you go to File > New and select New Document </> HTML you get:Untitled-11 <!doctype html>2 <html>3 <head>4 <meta charset="utf-8">5 <title>Untitled Document</title>6 </head>78 <body>9 </body>10 </html>11 I want to edit this file. Good Morning,I am having trouble inserting an image. I create the image in Photoshop, save it as jpg and when I insert it into dreamweaver the image appears resized and pixelated. The funny thing is that when I go to the properties, it indicates the width and height correctly. What's going on?Thanks   

With each update I get more frustrated.This last  update is putting in text boxes and I can't load any pictures to a pre-made template HOW CAN I STOP UPDATESI WOULD love to switch, but I've been using Dreamweaver for 20+ years and it WAS great, now not so much.

Since the latest upgrade to version 21 every time I open a site or page from a site the whole program freezes. I am trying to open a very straightforward HTML site, nothing large of difficult.I've now had to fall back on a text editor. Not what I'm paying £50 a month for!!

Most pages on my website have a search box. If a user enters a search term here, a list of Google results is returned. For example, go to a page on the site that has the search bar (some more recently updated pages in this site do not have the Search bar). Such a page is  https://www.higgsy.co.uk/binning_sophia_olivia.phpAnd enter a search. In this example I searched for "Edward". Many links are returned. But all the links with a prefix of the form vnn, such as v37 and v38 and v45 go nowhere because they all point to early versions of my website that were once live and online.    My live site is v55 which is published as  https://ancestry.higgsy.co.uk I have removed all the source files for these early sites off my hosting server.  I have also deleted those domain names. Is there any way to suppress these results from Google? many thanks

Recently updated to Dreamweaver 2021. Launched Dreamweaver only to find that it is not connected to any of my sites. The folders are still there, but DW informs me that there is no ste file. I can open individual pages, but the site info is gone.  Anyone have an idea of what happened here? Where did my site data go?

Using Dreamweaver CC 21.0 on a Mac 10.15.7 I've noticed that when I change a parameter in CSS such as font size, the Live View in split mode will not always update automatically to reflect the change.  I have to toggle the code view from CSS to HTML to force it to redraw the Live View.  It has gotten worse, the more complex the document.  Is this a familiar bug or should I look for something that may be causing a conflict?    

Overall, importing synced settings from the cloud is kludgy at best.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I had to perform the steps in the Preferences Panel 3 times before it worked.  And custom workspaces never imported.   I submitted a bug report below: https://dreamweaver.uservoice.com/forums/382851-adobe-dreamweaver-bugs/suggestions/41748331-dw-21-0-build-15392-synced-settings   My workaround on Win10 (v 2004) is to manually copy workspace files from old version to new version.   C:\Users [name] > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Dreamweaver [old ver] > [language] > Configuration > Workspaces.  

Hello.  Does anyone use a library in the asset panel with the header and/or footer in it?  I do not like to change every single page when adding a new link. I would just have to change the library item when changes were needed and then all the other pages in the site would be updated.The footer is just location adresses and hyperlinks.  I did read on the Adobe site that links "may" not work in a library item but it has on my test run. I looked into templates but that doesn't seem to be the answer. Any other ideas on how to change something in a footer or header and have it change all the pages on the site?  It is a large site that I am building.  Thanks. 

using DW CC to connect to my server and edit code.  For some reason since recent update it minify's my CSS and PHP.  Really annoying.  

I use Dreamweaver for email marketing, I save my designs as .html and was using Dreamweaver in a Mac. Now I'm on a windows machine in version 21.0, but every time I open my html file, I have to arrange my workspace for code on left and live on right. I tried saving my worskspace, but doesn't save the view mode options. This never happened when I used DW in iOS. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

1) It is very while launching.2) It becomes irresponsive even if you try to modify text in the design field.3) Some times suddenly crashes,4) Code panel never shows code when in any mode (Code, Split, Live)

Went to use Dreamweaver 20.2 today using Mac OS 10.15.7 and got this message. Any thoughts?
