Can't log in to account

My email account that I had since the 1980s was suddenly cancelled by my ISP wth 48hrs notice. I can't change my password, whch it is now requiring, becasue it sends the code to my old account. How th heck am I suppose to get around that mess!?WOULD LOVE to be able to email or chat with support!

can not download or upload on CS5

Hi all, I don't know why but I can not download or upload to my server. I get the message message FTP error of password or host, which I have never changed. My server says that my settings at her end are correct. I don't know where to look to even check mine, but I know that I never altered them since I set up the website 8 years ago. How do I change the font for selected text?

In older versions of Dreamweaver, I could select (highlight) text with my mouse and use a menu to change the font of that text (e.g., from the default font to Courier new).  I have a brand new edition of Dreamweaver (Dreamweaver 2020?  The "Help >>AboutDreamweaver" just says 20.2)  and I can't figure out how to change the font of selected text without doing an inline style.  Is there a GUI-way to do what used to be so simple?

Problems with contact form and recaptcha

Hello everybody, I seem to have gotten myself into a deep hole that I can't get out of...I have followed a tutorial making a contact form with bootstrap and a recaptcha. I can't get it to work.When I try it out, the form generates the success message from my contact.php file, but no mail arrives in my mailbox. And I never get to fill in any question from the recaptcha. Inserted images on a .PHP do not display

I insert the following image on the page in the <body> section. <img src="images/help/source_images/quotescreentest.jpg" width="670" height="588" alt=""/>If I place my mouse pointer over the image name it displays the image in a pop up.  But on the screen it just display an outline in the size of the image with only a small image icon in upper left corner. Other images on the page are displayed although I used jquery to load them between <div> tags.  I even tried that but same results as just inserting on page.

Input button on click not working in live view

I can't seem to get the input button on click to work in live view, however when I transfer it to Note++ or open in Chrome it is working.  Is there a setting I am missing?

Dreamweaver freezes

Whenever I open a dialog box in Dreamweaver, i.e. Manage Sites, then open another window on my computer, Dreamweaver freezes up and I can't access the dialog box because it's hidden under the main window. The only thing I can do is to go to Task Manager and force DW to close. Then I have to reopen the app. Is there a way to keep DW from doing this?

Cannot alter property values in Developer Tools

I use Firefox and its Developer Tools.  I load up a page and by ticking/unticking the property values I can see the effect of any changes I make.  Nothing new here you say, and I have been happily working on my website pages in this way. BUT today I find this page http://v50.ancestry.higgsy.co.uk/contact6.php does not change when I untick any of the property values e.g. untick the background property, nothing happens. Unticking any of the values has no effect.  What is going on? You may notice the page is different from my other pages because it is a .php page.  I think I got some of that code from Mr Osgood but I don’t think he is to blame for this problem!any suggestions would be much appreciated

DW 2019 (macOS): Wrong order of folders and files in window "files"

I use macOS Mojave.The order of files and folders in the system file manager is: folders first, files secondExample/a/ba.htmlb.htmlDW 2019 mix them up./aa.html/bb.htmlIs there any way to change it?Another strange behaviour is the sorting of folder/file names with numbers.The system use the good one:12...1011DW uses the bad sorting:11011...2Is there a way to change it?Thanks

I use Dreamweaver CS4, ASP, an Access database and a web space via Aruba with a purchased domain:Some time ago I had a site of a commercial nature, within which I had also created protected pages using the Dreamweaver tools, complete with connection to the Access database. I used the connection string method to connect to the database where the ID and pass were fetched to access these pages. Everything has always worked properly.Then I closed the site.Now I have bought a new domain with its web space always on Aruba. I have tried to make protected pages with the same method again, but when I try to connect to the database, the connection doesn't work. Tried and tried, but nothing. Has something changed?The connection string is as follows:"driver = {Microsoft Access Driver (* .mdb)}; dbq =" & Server.MapPath ("/ data / database.mdb")Hope someone can answer and maybe help solve the problem.Thank you

Unable to see anything in view mode

Using Dreamweaver 20.2 build 15263.With some html files that my web designer is making in her Dreamweaver, I can only view in live mode. I can only see the footer. Thus, I cannot edit them properly. Any ideas? This issue only happens with SOME files, not others. Most files, I can view and edit in view mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First time synchronization/upload is said to be 'not necessary'

Hi everybody, I am a little lost. Am using Dreamweaver for the first time and I am at the point of uploading to a server for the first time. Despite the fact that I am connected to the server (confirmed) - When clicking on 'synchronize', it says that it's not necessary and that's it. I understand if there would be no new adjustments, but I currently have nothing uploaded/exported yet... Hope it is something small. Thanks in advance.

"Find in Selected Text" missing in Dreamweaver CC

I just noticed that a feature from Dreamweaver CS6, "Find in Selected Text", is missing in Dreamweaver CC. Any chance this will be coming back anytime soon? It was always helpful to be able to search just part of a big file.

Creating custom stack fonts permanently

Can I create custom font stacks permanently? Our department always uses the same font stack, but every time I start a new project I need to create it again, although the fonts are just three safe fonts, because Dreamweaver 2020 doesn't save it.

Strip HTML comments for upload

Hi.Our HTML files contain internal comments which want to strip for server upload. But we also want to keep the comments for later (internal) use. Is it possible to have Dreamweaver remove comments while uploading, just like it processes e.g. date information?Example: DW processes this date information to the current date and removes the surrounding comment.2020-09-08 Regards

Dreamweaver on 2012 CD - transfer to new machine?

I have a copy of Dreamweaver, dating back to 2012 and installed via a CD (I also have Lightroom v5 of similar vintage.). My computer has failed, cannot be repaired, and will now be replaced.  Can I just re-install from the old CD? How does Adobe know that I am not trying to install on an extra computer, but simply a replacement?  I don't want to use these old programs, because they work well for me.  Thanks for any advice.

Unable to PUT to FTP Server but can GET

After modifying a .php page, I PUT the page.  It appears to work, but then I look at the server directory, and the page has not be updated.  I can GET a page from the server and it updates my local drive.  I have uninstalled Dreamweaver and reinstalled it but same thing. Instead of updating the pagewhich is located in customcutstencil.com/public_html/quoteform4/, it creates a new directory, customcutstencil.com/quoteform4/ and places it in there.

SFTP/SSH using Public Key File not working

I have a public/private key pair which I can connect to using the command line (linux subsystem in Windows 10) but when I try to create a server connection using Private Key File: and enter the username, point to the identity file (private key) and enter the passphrase, the FTP connection fails saying invalid username and password (as if it's trying to still send UN/PW creds).  I tail the logs on the server and am seeing the same information that the connection is closed due to invalid username and password (which it shouldn't be doing since this is an SSH key connection).  I've tried just regular open SSH keys and ppk formated keys with no joy.Has anyone else had this issue?   Does this side of the Authentication settings in Site Setup even work?

2 questions about DW 19 ...

hi People,I've upgraded recently from a much older version of DW.two problems I've had in coding that are kind of annoying, but I don't how to turn them off.One is this automatic dark brown highlighting that happens with code I am working with in split view.  It darkens huge chunks of code and I can't see where my cursor is which is problematic.  Is there any way to turn this off or change the color of the highlight. the other problem is the preview of half of the split view acts like a live website and starts playing an MP3 file i have embedded and then actually clicks to a different page if I click on a live link on the preview section of the split screen.  how to disable this business so I can click on images, links etc in the preview screen and not have them act like a web browser. thanks for any assistance with this.
